
Jon Scieszka (born September 8, 1954) is an American children's writer.
Having been writing books for children since 1989, Jon Scieszka describes his work as aiming to make children laugh. He is best known for his Fractured Fairy Tales that twist classic stories in outlandish and outrageous manners, accompanied by the distinctive illustrations of his regular collaborator, Lane Smith. Two of his series, Time Warp Trio and Trucktown, were also adapted into animated TV series up in Canada. He is also the founder of Guys Read, a web-based literacy program for boys, being one of the biggest advocates for reading in the United States.
