Fred Griffiths, born Frederick David Griffiths, (8 March 1912 — 27 August 1994), was a British character actor.
Before he began to act, he worked as a cabbie in London and a firefighter during World War II. He was discovered by director Humphrey Jennings, who began Griffiths' film career when he cast him in the 1943 documentary Fires Were Started.
Over the next four decades, Griffiths played small roles in around 150 films, often Typecast in working-class roles such as spivs, taxi drivers, and sailors. Griffiths appeared in many comedies, such as those made by Ealing Studios, and Boulting Brothers, and had a few small roles in the Carry On... Series and Doctor... Series. He retired in 1984.
He died at the age of 82.
