EA Gothenburg (known as Ghost Games from 2012 to 2020) is a Swedish video game developer based in Gothenburg and owned by Electronic Arts, with additional studios in Guildford, England and Bucharest, Romania. They were established in 2011 as EA Gothenburg before being renamed to Ghost Games on 15 November 2012. The studio, which includes employees who were formerly from DICE, EA Black Box, Criterion Games, and Playground Games, were the overseers of the Need for Speed franchise from 2013 to 2020, using DICE's Frostbite Engine in their games.
In February 2020, EA announced that they would return Ghost Games to an engineering support studio for the company. They've renamed it back to EA Gothenburg (after having cleared government approvals) and returned the Need for Speed license to Criterion.
