Dennis Spooner (1 December 1932 – 20 September 1986) was a British television writer. He contributed to many popular shows from the 1960s to the 1980s including Doctor Who (for which he served as script editor for most of Season 2 during the William Hartnell era), Coronation Street, The Avengers, Fireball XL5, Stingray, Thunderbirds, The Champions (which he also co-created), Department S, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Doomwatch, Jason King, The New Avengers, The Professionals, Bergerac and Remington Steele.
