David Samuel Goyer (born 1965) is an American writer and director.
He made his screenwriting debut with Death Warrant, which was written while he was a student at the University of Southern California. A professed fan of comic books, he has since become best known for his work in adapting the medium for the screen, which include co-writing credits on Blade Trilogy, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and the DC Extended Universe. He has also created or co-created several science fiction and fantasy television shows, including Da Vinci's Demons and Foundation (2021).
