Catherine Rabett, (20 July 1960), is a British actress best known for playing Cissy Meldrum in You Rang, M'Lord?.
She started acting in The '80s, with guest roles in series including Minder, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, and Chance in a Million. She also popped up in a few films, even a James Bond film, playing Liz in The Living Daylights.
Her best-known role came in 1988 when she was cast as Cissy Meldrum in the You Rang, M'Lord? Pilot. Cissy was the first lesbian character in a Britcom, and a radical character for the time, with her short hair, her fine suits, and her monocle. Rabett was loved for the role and became something of a gay icon. Following M'Lord?, Rabett returned to smaller roles, and in the late 2000s, played recurring roles in Doctors and Emmerdale.
Alongside her acting career, she was a member of a dance group called "Hot Gossip". She also works as a volunteer for GRUBB Forward, a charity that provides tutoring for Roma schoolchildren in Serbia, and during the COVID-19 Pandemic, she worked as a volunteer vaccinator.
