Dead@17 is a comic-book series created by Josh Howard. Originally published by Viper Comics, it is currently published by Image Comics.
The series follows the journey of Nara Kilday, a 17-year-old girl whose sudden murder is only the beginning of her fight against demons.
Dead@17 contains examples of:
- The Atoner: In the Witch Queen miniseries, Nara wanders Purgatory as her penance for killing Hazy.
- Big Bad: Bolabogg, a demon whose machinations drive most of the series.
- Dead to Begin With: Nara dies in the beginning of the first issue, which starts off her journey as a demon hunter.
- Driven to Suicide: In the Blood of Saints miniseries, Violet Grey is driven to kill herself by Bolabogg, who then resurrects her as his agent.
- First-Episode Resurrection: In the first issue of the original series, Nara dies, and then comes back to life as a demon hunter.
- Pseudo-Romantic Friendship: While Nara and Hazy are both ostensibly straight, they spend a lot of time together, and their lives (or afterlife, in Nara's case) are tightly entwined.
