Character sheets for the Mega Crossover What Insertion?. This is a work in progress.

WARNING: Contains spoilers.

The Central Trio

  • Grand Theft Me: Both Inuyasha and Curtis actively indulge in this, the former for his nightly criminal hunts and the latter to keep Phibrizzo from shooting off his mouth in stressful situations.
  • Outside-Context Problem: Inuyasha and Hellmaster Phibrizzo are this to the Black Organization. Inuyasha is tough enough on his own to stop, even though knives and bullets would still be able to injure him if they hit. When borrowing Phibrizzo's body, it becomes a different story altogether. Age-reducing drugs and Agasa's inventions aside, that world is still mostly realistic in nature; between Inuyasha's general combat ability and usage of Tessaiga paired with Phibrizzo's Nigh-Invulnerable body and teleportation, the Organization has no answer to him whatsoever and is eventually forced to stay out of his way until such a time that they can find a countermeasure.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: How Phibrizzo views his "partnership" with Inuyasha and Curtis, referring to them time and time again as parasites and making no attempt to hide his contempt for them.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Invoking this trope in Phibrizzo is more or less Curtis and Inuyasha's goal, if only to help him better fit within his new home.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Phibrizzo becomes increasingly tolerant of his parasites' presence in his mind and more willing to consider their advice. This doesn't stop him from insulting them whenever he gets the chance, and they in return.

     Hellmaster Phibrizzo

Hellmaster Phibrizzo

The mightiest of Ruby Eye Shabranigdu's generals. Was plotting to annihilate everything by having Lina Inverse miscast the Giga Slave, but his plans were thrown entirely out of whack by the arrival of two people that he would henceforth refer to as parasites...

  • Berserk Button: Do not call Phibrizzo "Phibby-chan"; doing so makes him angry enough to create a Battle Aura.
  • Emotion Eater: Is noted to be one where negative emotions are concerned, at least until his transfer across the multiverse. He was less than thrilled to discover that he wasn't capable of it anymore.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Is transformed into this by the transfer from the Slayers-verse to a universe that's mostly lacking in magic. Of particular note is that while he has a digestive system, it ends at the stomach, at which point its contents are converted in their entirety to energy.
  • Healing Factor: Has one that allows him to recover from attacks dealt with slashing weapons, though it saps at his energy reserves while its active.
  • In-Series Nickname: "Firebrat", courtesy of Inuyasha.
  • Kill It with Fire: His Dark Harsh attack, an energy beam comprised of black flames. Doubles as Hellfire.
  • Killing Intent: Phibrizzo is able to manifest it when he's angry enough, and it can be detected by those with proper ki senses.
  • Mind Hive: This happens to Phibrizzo against his will due to a wish Inuyasha made on the Shikon no Tama. The wish transplanted him and Curtis into twin chambers hollowed out within the mazoku's mind, and the both of them can move about freely within them and interact with things they find; this in turn effects Phibrizzo's immediate reality, much to his constant irritation.
  • No-Sell: His half-human makeup already allows him to tank most physical attacks (emphasis on "most"), but as noted above, his digestive system ends at the stomachnote , rendering groin attacks a complete non-issue.
  • Power-Up Food: Whenever he consumes sugar, Phibrizzo experiences an influx of energy that both speeds him up and turns him into a heavy hitter. Being inconvenient for everyday use, this means that any sugary drinks and snacks are either saved for emergencies or used in very small doses.
  • Rubber Man: The spell that the Lord of Nightmares uses to transfer Phibrizzo to a more modern-day world has a difficult time translating "mazoku" in a way that the universe's physical laws can understand. The end result is that his body becomes incredibly resilient and malleable to the extent that he can stretch it in a Luffy-esque manner, something that he eventually incorporates into some of his attacks.
  • The Prankster: His idea of curing boredom? Swapping the juice in Haibara's refrigerator with pickle brine.
  • Tragic Keepsake: Phibrizzo's bracelet, although the circumstances surrounding it are unknown at present.
  • Villainous B So D: Falls into a brief one after learning from Curtis that in canon, the Lord of Nightmares annihilated him without granting his wish.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: He is weak to high-pressure water, such as from a Vaporeon's Hydro Pump, and enough of it renders him completely immobile.

     Inuyasha

Inuyasha

Half-human, half-dog demon. After Naraku was killed and the Shikon no Tama was recovered, he wished that he could be sent somewhere that he could do some good while he waited to see Kagome again in the modern era. He didn't expect that the jewel's reach would be much further than he thought...

  • Arch-Enemy: Slowly becomes this to the Black Organization over the course of the story, mostly because he will not stop capturing their members whenever they cross paths.
  • Berserk Button: Do not refer to Inuyasha as a monster.
  • Thou Shalt Not Kill: Ever since the trio's arrival at their new home, Inuyasha has not attempted to take another person's life or used Tessaiga for anything more than intimidation, preferring to use his speed and wits to capture criminals.
  • Vigilante Man: Inuyasha decides to become one of these as the trio explores Tokyo. As he can't be everywhere at once, the district that he patrols in each night is chosen at random.

     Curtis

Curtis

An overweight collegian from the "real world", who ended up alongside Inuyasha in Phibrizzo's mind due to unknown circumstances. And all he wanted to do was write a decent self-insertion fanfic...

  • Author Avatar: Considering the story he's in and the story he was trying to write in the prologue, it's quite clear he's this.
  • Combat Pragmatist: He has no instinctive knowledge of combat like the other two, so the one time he was forced to take to the field for that purpose he resorted to fighting dirty.
  • Dream Land: From Curtis's perspective, his time in Phibrizzo's mind is this. He wakes up there whenever he falls asleep at night in the real world. Eventually he starts taking advantage of this to do research on topics pertaining to the setting.
  • Reality Warper: As long as he is within his chamber, Curtis can create anything within the limits of his imagination (although he primarily goes for soft drinks and video games). When he's in control of Phibrizzo's body, he is deprived of this.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: In the waking world Curtis begins dealing with a severe fever, making his time in Phibby's mind something of a break for him. This corresponds to a period in the author's life where he was hit with walking pneumonia and the symptoms of ulcerative colitis all at once, which took several months to recover from.
  • The Load: Compared to Phibrizzo and those they associate with he has no useful talents, and he is not shy about admitting it.
  • You Are Fat: Subject to a lot of insults along this vein from Phibrizzo. Since he's fully aware of it, Curtis makes little effort to deny it.
