However, in the vegan books, it's actually shown to be the other way around. Shawn is always trying to [[http://archive.fo/kqrxS extend a leaf and come to mutual respect of each other's lifestyles]], while Plausibell rejects any opportunity, due to believing it would be condoning animal abuse. And this is portrayed as her adhering to her values, instead of being dogmatically stubborn.
