Cybertronian Teachers

     Shared Tropes
  • And Now for Someone Completely Different: The head detective changes up nearly every time.
  • Clear Their Name: Usually, a chapter’s murder has a prime suspect within the first part of the trial that the detective have to prove that suspect is innocent.
    • Chapter 1: Skywarp is the main suspect, as the only one with teleporting powers.
    • Chapter 2: Swindle, due to his name being written by Vortex in his own energon.
    • Chapter 3: No one.
    • Chapter 4: Onslaught and Blast Off, due to being out of their rooms.
    • Chapter 5: Smokescreen, since he planted the bomb.
  • Dwindling Party: Thirty teachers locked in a school with the only way out is murder. Only one way this will end.
  • Dysfunction Junction: Most of them had pretty terrible upbringings, the only difference is how one is more terrible than the other.
  • Gender-Equal Ensemble: Faction version. It's close enough, with 14 Autobots and 16 Decepticons. Then played straight when Chapter 3 reveals that Counterpunch is originally an Autobot named Punch, making the ensemble equal with 15 Autobots and 15 Decepticons.
  • A House Divided: Intended, with roughly half the cast either a Decepticon or an Autobot.
  • Let's Split Up, Gang!: When there’s a murder, you can count on this happening to find more evidence.
  • Mr. Vice Guy: In a wide-variety of ways, whether it’s being prideful, insensitive, greedy, manipulative, self-serving, cowardly, quick-to-anger, dull-witted, or just plain crazy.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Let’s be real, with names like Onslaught, Dead End, and Bludgeon, it is unlikely anyone would mess with them. Or most of the Decepticons, really.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: Thanks to the fact that they were all soldiers of war, many of these are mentioned in passing, usually around their achievements during the war.
  • Sick and Wrong: They constantly talk about how the game is this, especially when it comes to Monobear’s sadistic executions.

The Headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy

"Don't worry, I'm coming. Get ready! Here I come! The great, magnificent Headmaster Monobear!"

A mysterious self-proclaimed headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy and the main antagonist. He’s very eager to see biggest hopefuls that emerged from the remains of the war of Cybertron to remake history again by manipulating both factions to start killing each other, so he heaps psychological torture at every turn to open hurtful scars to invoke despair no matter what. Monobear is actually a series of highly-advanced robots, and can be instantly replaced if destroyed and comes in various sizes.

  • Action Bomb: He can explode if he’s damaged or at will, as shown in the prologue when Skywarp antagonizes him.
  • Adaptation Name Change: He’s referred as “Monobear” in the story.
  • Bears Are Bad News: Duh.
  • Big Bad / Disc-One Final Boss: As a proxy for the mastermind, he's this by extension.
  • Big Brother Is Watching: Has cameras all over the school to watch over the teachers. He can also teleport, some teachers still flinched every time he does this, even though Skywarp can do the same thing.
  • Evil Is Petty: Trapping people in a game of life and death is one thing, but every now and then, he does pretty dickish things solely for the thrill of it, with one of the best example being when he set off the sprinklers to ruin Bludgeon's memorial to Jhiaxus.
  • Evil Laugh: Standard with any representation of him in any media. Doubles as an annoying laugh, as the suspects for a possible serial killer can attest.
  • Eviler than Thou: His level of sadism even makes the Decepticons hate him. To be fair most the Decepticons that are trapped are still trying to make up for their actions in the war.
  • Hanging Judge: No matter the reason, Monobear will execute anyone who kills another individual. Even if they unknowingly kill someone on accident (Brawl), in self-defense (Chromedome), or unknowingly (Ratchet).
  • Jerkass: He doesn't have any decent strand of fiber in his plushy body.
  • Kick the Dog: If he can make a dig at someone's expense, he'll do it.
  • Killer Teddy Bear: As per usual. Him as an Action Bomb and his claws should be enough proof. Oh, and his obsessive drive for people to murder each other.
  • Laughably Evil: With more emphasis on the evil side and quite the bastard as well as a troll.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: He makes a few not-so-subtle references to the outside world.
Monobear: Uh, actually I do, but you see, that would be a spoiler and I know from reading on the extranet that people don't like spoilers, so HAH!
  • Mouth of Sauron: He's just a conduit of the mastermind.
  • The Nicknamer: Calls some teachers like “Sounders” for Soundwave and “Smokey the Bear” for Smokescreen, much to the latter’s chagrin.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: He's got one on his left black side.
  • Rules Lawyer: He follows the rules to the best of his abilities, but wouldn't mind bending them.
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: Is absolutely gleeful with his executions, as he casually talks about murder in gruesome ways.
  • Torture Technician: His executions showcases this and he makes sure it’s pure irony and excessively brutal.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Unlike the animation, it’s implied that he consumes energon just like any other Cybertronians.

    Khepri
Khepri is the AI that serves under Monobear working within various positions inside of the academy, especially inside the mall of the third building. While initially appearing to be just a VI (Virtual Intelligence), the teachers eventually figure out he is an AI with his own beliefs. However, while he keeps this hidden to his master, he is still loyal to him. However, the fear of a mole among the teacher’s ranks worried him as they could reveal his status as an AI, so he helps them attempt to identify the mole to protect himself.
  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: Zig-Zagged. He is loyal to Monobear first and foremost, however he develops a fear that there might me a mole that could reveal his status as somewhat sentient AI, which could endanger him to be discovered and decommissioned by the bear, something that he really fears.
  • Anti-Villain: He is on the side of Monobear and regularly insults the teachers' predicament in the killing game, but he is afraid of the possibility that Monobear would find out that he is an AI.
  • Meaningful Name: His name was (or at least, he thinks he is named) after the Egyptian scarab-faced god that represents the rising sun and the renewal of life.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: He secretly and reluctantly work together with the teachers, mainly Hoist, to figure out who is the mole in exchange for their silence about the fact that he is an AI from Monobear.
