Historical Kalosian Figures

The most well-known historical event in the Kalos region is the war that took place three-thousand years ago. The main characters are given more depth in Chapter 57 in Fu's Flashback.

     The Three-Thousand Year Old King
Exactly What It Says on the Tin. The king that ruled over the Kalos region over three-thousand years ago from the present day. Was said to be a brilliant man that loved his people, but loved his beloved Pokémon more. His Pokémon's death drove him to create the ultimate weapon that resurrected her and ended the war by decimating both sides.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: The difference between AZ's story and his is that the king is not made immortal due to Fu and Wayzz's interference, thus eventually aging and dying as an exiled vagabond.
  • Cain and Abel: Eventually becomes the Cain to his younger brother's Abel when he gives into despair and madness.
  • Despair Event Horizon: The death of his Floette is what sets him down a dark path, making him obsessed with bringing her back to life and taking revenge against the cruel world that took her away from him.
  • Emperor Scientist: He was responsible for many of the technological advancements in his kingdom and if it were not for his position, would have poured his efforts into developing more advancements to help in the war. Not to mention, is capable of developing a doomsday device/immortality machine all on his own in secret.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: He was noted to have a brilliant mind, having contributed to the technological advancements throughout Kalos prior to ascending to the throne. Had he not been born to the royal family, he would've had a promising future as an engineer. Unfortunately, he uses his genius to create the ultimate weapon.
  • Gentle Giant: He was described to be a large and tall man due to being based off of AZ.
  • The Good King: Was a great king prior to his fall into madness.
  • Large and in Charge: He was the king of Kalos during the war and towered almost anyone he met. Which was why he was easily able to knock away the Stripling and his Turtwig with just his arm.
  • Love Makes You Evil: His beloved Floette became another casualty in the war, driving him mad with grief and hatred towards the world. From then on, he sought to revive his beloved Floette no matter the costs... along with taking vengeance upon the many involved in the war including his own.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: He goes into exile after realizing the many lives he killed through the ultimate weapon, from sacrificing many Pokémon to resurrect his Floette to ending the war to satiate his vengeance.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: The king experienced the horrors of war as it continued to increase in violence and destruction as death tolls increased by each day, the guilt of his failure in protecting his people weighing on him as it happens. This culminates in the death of his Floette when the war escalated, driving him to make a giant superweapon in rage and grief.

     The King's Beloved Pokémon
A beautiful Floette that loved her king. Desired peace and wanted the fighting to stop, she was willing to get in the war to do so, resulting in her death.

  • Morality Pet: To her king. Naturally, her death is what finally made the king snapped.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: It was Floette's death during the war that unintentionally set in motion the creation of the ultimate weapon by the king's hands.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Much like in AZ's story, she becomes disgusted towards her king upon finding out that many Pokémon lives were sacrificed to bring her back to life, making her leave him. Unlike AZ's story, though, they never seemed to have made up as the king eventually dies of old age.

     The King's Brother
The ruling king's younger brother, next in line to inherit the Kalos crown, he often had his older brother's best interests on mind.

  • Cain and Abel: Becomes the Abel to the king's Cain when the latter goes off the deep end and creates the ultimate weapon.

     The Stripling
A mysterious young man that approached the king one day, offering his power and services to stop the war. His developing friendship with the king eventually places him as a trusted advisor. That man was a young Fu Wang.
  • …And That Little Girl Was Me: Or boy. He's actually a young Fu back in the war while Fu in the present day is narrating the story to Marinette.
  • The Leader: He gathered and led talented people that were capable of invoking the Bond Phenomenon with their Pokémon partners.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: Despite all the wisdom he acquired in his early years, he and his Turtwig charged in on the king, shoving him, as the controller, away from the ultimate weapon in an attempt to disarm it. To be fair, little could've been done in the remaining time they had. The ultimate weapon still followed through with its directive in resurrecting Floette. Exposure during this phase granted the both of them immortality.
  • Starter Mon: He is accompanied by a Turtwig, which is his long-time partner, Wayzz.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The Stripling and his group of Bond Phenomenon specialists sparked hope in Floette that inspired her to finally join the battlefield in order to stop the war, leading to her death.
