  • I Will Wait for You: Lang Wu Yao angrily tells Shang Bu Huan that she's waiting to see him again. He only says he can't return to her until his quest is complete.
  • Love Triangle: It is clear that Lang Wu Yao has feelings for Mu Tian Ming, and resentment about her connection with Shang Bu Hua. For his part, Shang Bu Hua treats Mu Tian Ming as a valued friend, but nothing romantic. However an upset Lang Wu Yao, who follows Shang Bu Hua into exile, tells him that Mu Tian Ming is always thinking of Shang and waiting for his return. Shang Bu Hua answers he cannot return to Mu Tian Ming until he finds a cure to her blindness. This response upsets Lang Wu Yao, who immediately drops the subject to avoid getting angrier at Shang. The question unanswered, is Mu Tian Ming's feelings for the two. Is she only concerned for Shang as a treasured friend, or something more?

    • It is confirmed in the season 3 that she's alive, although she was blinded in battle with Huo Shi Ming Huang.

Lang Wu Yao's mother who is blind. She is a former member of the Xi-You Imperial Court. Taking pride in her son's singing voice, she brutally trains him in singing and in combat until Lang Wu Yao falls ill. When he recovers, his vocal pitch changed, sending her into a frenzy that led to her death by falling off a cliff. Her real name is Ling Mo Yan (聆莫言 Líng Mò Yán / Ryou Baku Gen), a former princess of the Xi You imperial court. She fell in love with someone not in her social standing, only to find out too late it was the demon lord Azibělpher in disguise, who blinded her and ultimately led to her being cast out of the Xi You court.
  • Abusive Parents: She horribly abuses Lang Wu Yao during his early childhood and forces him to sing and fight to his limits. She even beat him when he fell ill and lost his ability to sing. It might be her way of preparing her son for the future in case his Half-Human Hybrid nature is revealed, not that it makes it any less abusive.
  • Disney Villain Death: After Lang Wu Yao underwent puberty and his voice changed, his blind mother wasn't able to recognize him. Her fear that her son was murdered and the murderer was after her next led her to fall off a cliff out of fear. With the revelation of Lang's father being a demon, it makes sense that she reacted this way.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Despite her abusive and harsh treatment towards her son, she cares for him deeply. She can be seen taking care of him when he fell ill and before he was born, she ran away from the Imperial Court to live incognito so that they would not kill him for his half-demon lineage..
  • Eye Scream: After Ling Mo Yan professes her love to her lover, Azibělpher reveals his true identity and slashes her across the eyes, blinding her.
  • Freudian Excuse: She was seduced by a demon and wound up pregnant by him, and discovered the true nature of the man she thought she knew before her eyes got slashed. Then the Imperial Court wanted her child dead for being half-demon, which explains why she was the bitter, abusive woman we initially saw her as.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: In her youth, Ling Mo Yan had red hair and green eyes not unlike her son Lang Wu Yao, although Lang Wu Yao's hair is a more natural orange than Ling Mo Yan's burgundy hair.
  • Stage Mom: Or Sing Mom, rather.
  • You Don't Look Like You: In her first appearance in the second film, Lang Wu Yao's mother, she had white hair and wore plain clothes, but in Season 3, she has a completely different appearance including dark red hair, teal-green eyes and an elegant red outfit like her son. Even Lang Wu Yao still recognizes her even though she looks completely different. It is implied this is what she used to look like before she decided to change her looks in order to keep her identity a secret from the outside world, who wanted to kill her son for being half-demon.

After seeing Lang Wu Yao's performance, he is made the court virtuoso and is declared as her "songbird" for life. She is enraged when he leaves to pursue Shang Bu Huan and Mu Tian Ming and later joining them. She is also Huo Shi Ming Huang's daughter.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: She has strong romantic feelings for Lang Wu Yao, but he's not into her because she's an evil and cruel person.
  • Bad Boss: She enjoys watching her henchmen be slaughtered in mass as much as watching performers die.
  • Detect Evil: She can tell Lou Zhen Jie is a Yandere like herself, and therefore agrees to helping him because she can relate to such madness.

  • No Sense of Personal Space: She has no problem getting close to Lang Wu Yao.
  • Royal Brat: She's a sadist who enjoys watching musicians try to fight off her henchmen as they perform before ultimately getting killed for her own amusement. When Lang Wu Yao calls her evil, she agrees with him, but then says that as a princess, she's entitled to do what she wants anyway.
  • Sadist: She enjoys seeing performers desperately try to finish their performance without missing a note before being killed by her henchmen. She is just as pleased to see her henchmen get slaughtered.

  • Yandere: She acts kind and sweet to Lang Wu Yao, but she's very hostile towards anyone who isn't him. After he leaves, she orders her men to kill the people who capture him.
