Demon Realm

    The Skinner (剥皮客)

Voiced by: Liang Shuang (animation)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/svsss_skinner.png

Every victim shared a common fate: the skin on their body had been completely, meticulously peeled off from head to toe and with perfect precision, as if the skin had never been attached to the deceased body at all. It was enough to horrify anyone. Therefore, the murderer had come to be known as the "Skinner Demon".

A mysterious demon who Shen Qingqiu encounters on his first mission.
  • Ambiguous Gender: The Skinner Demon's primary targets are women, and they walk in the bodies of their victims. However, the demon also mentions that it had been a while since they used a man as its vessel, and Shen Qingqiu hypothesizes that the Skinner Demon was originally a male, but found it easier to hide in the skin of their female victims. The official English translation also doesn't assign the demon with a specific gender, using only the gender-neutral pronouns "they" and "them" when referring to the demon.
  • Arc Villain: They serve as the villain of the beginning arc for Shen Qingqiu.
  • Meaningful Name: They're called the Skinner Demon, and they take the skin of their victims to wear it over their own body.
  • Not Quite Dead: The "Honeymoon" extra reveals that the Skinner Demon's ghost continues to linger in Chen Manor. They move on in the end after deciding that the "scandalous" relationship between Shen Qingqiu and his disciple counts as sufficient revenge for them.
  • Starter Villain: They are the first threat that Shen Qingqiu encounters after his transmigration.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Shen Qingqiu notes how the Skinner Demon does every single stupid action a villain would make even when they have their victims at their mercy. However, this is also a result of the System placing the sublot under Easy Mode, making it possible that the demon wouldn't have been as foolish otherwise.

    Sha Hualing (紗華鈴)

Voiced by (Mandarin): Wu Qiuyun (animation)
Voiced by (Japanese): Mikako Komatsu (animation)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sv_shl_2.png

Sha Hualing was a pureblooded demon, vicious and merciless, crafty and proud, yet she was madly in love with Luo Binghe. After getting involved with Luo Binghe, not only did she kill for him, she even dared to commit an offense as monstrously treacherous as betraying the demon race.

One of Luo Binghe's wives in the original Proud Immortal Demon Way and a minor villain in the story.
  • Attention Whore: Implied. She's quickly displeased when Liu Mingyan's beauty attracts everybody's attention and sternly rebukes her underlings for it.
  • Braids of Action: Most of her hair is tied in braids, and she's quickly established as a Dark Action Girl.
  • Can't Kill You, Still Need You: In spite of Shen Qingqiu (in his new body) deliberately getting on every one of Sha Hualing's nerves, the amount of spiritual energy he holds — which makes him a very useful vessel for Luo Binghe — is what's keeping her from hacking him apart.
  • Clothing Damage: Her clothes get damaged a lot in the original and altered canon. This is taken out from the donghua.
  • Dark Action Girl: She's a female demon, and in the original plot, caused a lot of trouble at Cang Qiong Mountain. Nothing else needs to be said.
  • Faux Affably Evil: She speaks and carries herself in a polite and coquettish manner, but it does nothing to hide her cattier and more aggressive side.
  • Feet-First Introduction: In the donghua she's introduced with her feet shown first.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen: As Shen Qingqiu puts it, Sha Hualing was originally meant to be one of Luo Binghe's main wives in the original canon. But in the revised canon, in Shen Qingqiu's words, her new role is like that of an overworked subordinate who doesn't have a shot in engaging in an office romance with her boss — who's the one working her to the bone.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name means "magnificent" or "splendid bell", and her footsteps are always followed by the sound of bells.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: Played for laughs. In the donghua, Shen Qingqiu looks away from her "fight" with Liu Mingyan for one moment and she manages to beat her in that time. He's immediately bummed that he didn't get to see them actually fight.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: As a demon, she has red eyes.
  • The Tease: She's shown to flirt or tease whoever she's facing off against, usually as a way to unbalance them.
  • Third-Person Person: Whenever she talks, she uses "Ling-er" instead of "I".
  • Young and in Charge: She leads a well-sized band of demons against Qing Jing Peak despite only being around 15 years old.

    Meng Mo (梦魔)

Voiced by: Yuan Guoqing (animation)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/svsss_mm.png

Meng Mo's true identity was that of a famously brilliant and accomplished elder among demons. Several hundred years ago, a bout of divine punishment had destroyed his physical body, but his powerful spirit had endured, undamaged. From then on, he had become a parasite within others' dream realms, subsisting by absorbing their spiritual energy and vitality.

At the same time, he was also one of the protagonist's teachers on his road to becoming a demon. Thus, we can give him a more direct and intimate nickname: the Portable Grandfather.

A dream demon who mentors Luo Binghe before he falls into the Endless Abyss.
  • Dream Walker: He has the ability to enter other people's dreams and teaches Luo Binghe how to control his own.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: Meng Mo grouses that Luo Binghe never refers to him as his teacher or master despite him teaching Luo Binghe demonic cultivation.
  • Meaningful Name: His name translates to "nightmare". This is also a result of Shang Qinghua barely giving any effort in naming most of the villains, since a name that means "nightmare" is the most cliched name one can give to a demon that manipulates dreams.
  • Mentor Archetype: He doesn't serve much of a purpose besides helping Luo Binghe awaken his Heavenly Demon powers. However, he does play a significant role later in the story when he shows both Qiu Haitang and Shen Qingqiu Shen Jiu's past.
  • Nightmare Weaver: One of his abilities as a dream demon is to induce nightmares.
  • Villainous Rescue: In the Holy Mausoleum arc, he impedes Qiu Haitang's plans of revenge against Shen Qingqiu by showing her Shen Jiu's memories. The knowledge that Shen Jiu killed her family because they were extremely abusive towards him causes her to lose her sanity and run to her death in a mad panic.

    Mobei-Jun (漠北君)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/svsss_mbj.png

Mobei-Jun was a pure-blooded demon, a supremely orthodox demonic second-gen. In the future, he would inherit his family’s territory on the demonic border in the north, and after that, he would spend all his time appearing and disappearing at will, idling his life away, completely indifferent to everyone else.

However, this maverick was destined to get beaten up by a Luo Binghe had suddenly activated his overpowered abilities. Thereafter, he would mysteriously capitulated to the protagonist, to the point of letting himself be ordered about. From then on, Luo Binghe would have an exceptionaly badass-looking errand boy and loyal sidekick.

The ruler of the Mobei Clan.
  • Advertised Extra: He's shown alongside the main characters for the donghua advertisement and set up as an important antagonist, but he doesn't really make an appearance until The Stinger in the final episode of Season 1.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Shang Qinghua exclusively refers to Mobei-Jun as "my king" or da wang.
  • An Ice Person: He's a powerful demon lord that has the power over ice, which he can even shape into swords.
  • Ascended Extra:
    • In-Universe, he was supposed to appear later in the canon story. In Shen Yuan's canon, however, he's the one who reveals Luo Binghe's demonic heritage during the Immortal Alliance Conference.
    • While in the main story he mostly just acts as Luo Binghe's general who doesn't speak much, he gets his own mini arc in the "Airplane" extras.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Although he's not always nice to Shang Qinghua, after the latter saves him yet again he goes out of his way to treat him with more kindness which shows how much he really cares for him, from acting softer to even agreeing to make noodles when the other asks.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: He began to fall for Shang Qinhua after the former saved his life, and is implied to be the reason why he keeps the other so close to himself.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: While not as emotive as Luo Binghe is, and really having no one else to be jealous of for Shang Qinghua's affections, he doesn't like it when Shang Qinghua even implies he'll leave the North one day and nearly beats the other up for it. This instead angers Shang Qinghua, leading to one of their biggest arguments and Shang Qinghua leaving the ice castle in a huff after he vents his anger and frustrations over the way Mobei-Jun treats him.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He wears dark clothes and is a demon, but generally sticks to his own interests and doesn't wreak that much havoc.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: While not friendship, upon being defeated by Luo Binghe, he pledges his loyalty to the rising demon lord.
  • Defrosting The Ice King: He has a very cold exterior, but it becomes slightly gentler around Shang Qinghua. Due to Shang Qinghua saving him on multiple occasions, Mobei Jun only really trusts and shows this side to the peak lord.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Primarily referred to as Mobei-Jun, which is actually a title.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: He has no weapons on him and mainly fights with his fists. It just goes to show how powerful he actually is, given he can also create ice out of thin air.
  • Graceful Loser: When he and Luo Binghe competed for the title of the ruler of the demon realm and he lost, Mobei-Jun's response was to swear loyalty to Luo Binghe and become his right-hand man.
  • Icy Blue Eyes: The donghua gives him very pale blue irises, fitting his aloof nature and his ability to manipulate ice and cold.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He doesn't treat Shang Qinghua in the best of ways, but he does show a softer side towards the cultivator who has saved his life on multiple occasions.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: His donghua design has him on the prettier side, emphasised by his long hair.
  • Love Interests: He serves as Shang Qinghua's love interest in the Airplane Extras. They become an Official Couple by the end of the extras.
  • Mystical White Hair: The donghua adaptation depicts him with white hair, which is befitting of someone with magical ice abilities.
  • Not So Above It All: He actually finds some of Shang Qinghua's ramblings to be amusing, and even takes some pleasure from teasing the other in his own way.
  • Official Couple: Eventually enters a relationship with Shang Qinghua.
  • Personality Powers: Zigzagged. His main ability is the creation and manipulation of ice, and while he's cold and stoic by default, he can also lose his temper very easily.
  • Please, Don't Leave Me: When Shang Qinghua declares that he might eventually leave his side in the future, Mobei-Jun doesn't take it well. While he acts more angry than distressed and responds by either barking orders or threatening him, it soon becomes clear that he doesn't want to lose Shang Qinghua as he becomes more attached to him; he's simply unable to express it properly without coming across as domineering and cross.
  • Rescue Romance: How he fell in love with Shang Qinghua when the other saved his life. Shang Qinghua was fairly oblivious to his king's feelings for a while until the Airplane Extras.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: He doesn't seem to have any romantic interest in anyone else besides Shang Qinghua.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: In the altered canon, he takes the place of the rhinoceros who was supposed to reveal Luo Binghe's demonic heritage, which causes Shen Qingqiu to throw him into the abyss. After that, he's relegated to being Luo Binghe's second-in-command.
  • The Stoic: He rarely if ever emotes. The only exceptions seem to be around Shang Qinghua or when he's in a fight.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: In the Airplane extra, he was apparently a lot kinder and gentler than his current cold and distant persona. In the past, he adored his uncle and would follow him around everywhere. Then one day, his uncle tricked him and left him amongst cultivators who began hunting him. Although he didn't suffer any injuries, the experience was so traumatic that it lead to Mobei-Jun's current cold personality.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: Downplayed. In the donghua, Mobei-Jun is designed with white hair, and he's a full-blooded demon. But while he's cold, can get violent when enraged, and helped Luo Binghe dominate and merge all the three realms in the original canon, Mobei-Jun is not precisely evil as much as he's simply aloof.

    Linguang-Jun (凛光君)
Mobei-Jun's uncle who only appears in the "Airplane" extra and is scheming for a way to become the next Mobei-Jun.
  • Arc Villain: Serves as the villain for the the "Airplane" extra.
  • Evil Uncle: He serves as the villainous uncle to Mobei-Jun. His brother stole his wife from him (which seems to be a common occurrence amongst demons), he was never set as heir once Mobei-Jun was born, and he feels entitled to the throne after killing his own brother.
  • Made of Iron: After threatening Shang Qinghua, Mobei-Jun shattered his knees, but that doesn't seem to have fazed him as he screams curses at his nephew.
  • Spare to the Throne: His plan was to wait for Mobei-Jun to be vulnerable during his ceremony in order for him to kill him while he's at his weakest and then take the throne of Mobei-Jun as the last heir to it.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He pretended to be nice to Mobei-Jun as a child so he could lure the boy out and leave him amongst a group of cultivators who attempted to hunt the young demon prince down. His brother ended up rescuing his son, but the experience has scarred Mobei-Jun to who he currently is today.

Zhuzhi-Lang (竹枝郎) - Warning: Walking Spoiler
A snake demon who can take on a human form thanks to Tianlang-Jun. He was a secret character who was not in the original canon but appears thanks to Shen Qingqiu tampering with the story. He is incredibly loyal to Tianlang-Jun.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Shen Qingqiu somtimes calls him as Xizhi-lang, after a brand of jelly cup.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Zhuzhi-Lang reveals that, before he was given the ability to assume a complete human form by Tianlang-Jun, in the past his real form made him the subject of ridicule by the people around him for many years.
  • Animal Motif: Symbolised by snakes. He even has many hiding up his sleeves or one draping around his neck.
  • Ascended Extra: In-Universe. He was not present at all in the original canon since Tianlang-Jun didn't appear either. This is changed in the main story where he meets him in his snake form when going to harvest a plant and becomes indebted to the cultivator while trying to resurrect his master.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me:
    • The reason why he's exceedingly loyal to Tianlang-Jun is because the latter gave him the ability to change his form.
    • He wants to protect Shen Qingqiu due to the other unknowingly protecting him when he was harvesting the Sun and Moon Dew Flower seeds. When Tianlang-Jun suggests that Zhzuhi-Lang should get together with Shen Qingqiu (so he has someone else to follow on his own), Zhuzhi-Lang has to tell him multiple times he doesn't see Shen Qingqiu in that light.
  • Extreme Doormat: Due to his Shrinking Violet personality, he's quick to oblige with anyone's request, After "rescuing" Shen Qingqiu, he offers the other anything he can give as his guest. Shen Qingqiu then proceeds to ask for his money and then requesting they go to a brothel to which Zhuzhi-Lang agrees to everything. In the "Zhuzhi-Lang" extras, he also never refuses anything Tianglang-Jun wants to do to the point he's the one always paying for whatever catches his lord's eye.
  • Mundane Utility: His large snake form is usually used as mode of transportation for Tianlang-Jun.
  • Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense: He's the one who always foots Tianlang-Jun's bills, but because he's spent so long as a snake, he doesn't understand human money any better than Tianlang-Jun.
  • Secret Character: He's one of the two characters involved in the hidden storyline that the System mentioned from the very first chapters of the novel.
  • Shrinking Violet: Before he even had a human body, he would be bullied by other demons and tries to make himself scarce when he can. When amongst a crowd, he attempts to find a corner and make himself as small as possible.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: Subverted. He has the uncanny appearance and antagonistic role to match, which includes orchestrating the demon sowers massacre and murdering the disciples of the Huan Hua Palace Sect, including Gongyi Xiao. However, aside from the latter, he doesn't do any of it out of malice but out of loyalty to Tianlang-Jun, and is always polite and grateful to Shen Qingqiu for having saved his life before.
  • Taking the Bullet: He uses his large snake form to protect Tianlang-Jun or Shen Qingqiu when debris falls on them.
  • Third Wheel: He unfortunately ended up acting as a third wheel for Tianlang-Jun and Su Xiyan.
  • Undying Loyalty: He's so loyal to Tianlang-Jun that, when Shen Qingqiu attempts to hold him hostage in exchange for Luo Binghe, Zhuzhi-Lang immediately tries to throw himself onto Shen Qingqiu's sword.
  • Unwanted Assistance: What his "helping" Shen Qingqiu mostly amounts to. Zhuzhi-Lang is genuinely grateful to Shen Qingqiu but he's also loyal to Tianlang-Jun first and foremost, and since Shen Qingqiu opposes the latter Zhuzhi-Lang constantly tries to have Shen Qingqiu safely out of the way.

Tianlang-Jun (天郎君) - Warning: Walking Spoiler

The former ruler of the Demon Realm, and Luo Binghe's father.

  • Affably Evil: No matter the situation, Tianlang-Jun always speaks calmly and courteously and rarely raises his voice.
  • Always Someone Better: As the father of the overpowered In-Universe protagonist, it's only to be expected that Tianlang-Jun possess more power and skill than his son. Shang Qinghua even wrote him off in the final edition of Proud Immortal Demon Way because he feared that Tianlang-Jun would nerf Luo Binghe's presence.
  • Ascended Extra: In-Universe. He was axed from the original canon of Proud Immortal Demon Way because Airplane thought he was too overpowered and would nerf Luo Binghe. His role is greatly expanded upon in Shen Qingqiu's canon.
  • Bookworm: Surprisingly, Tianliang-Jun loves to read and spent most of his days buying books or watching plays with Su Xiyan.
  • Brutal Honesty: He's anything but subtle, even telling Zhuzhi-Lang in his demon form that he looked ugly.
  • Came Back Wrong: He gains a new body due to the Sun and Moon Dew Flower, but since he's a demon with a heavenly body, they start rejecting one another leading his body to slowly decay and limbs to fall off. In the "Zhuzhi-Lang" extras, Zhuzhi-Lang even has to sew him up constantly just to keep him together.
  • Covered in Scars: When his robes are pulled down a bit more, Shen Qingqiu is surprised to see the numerous scars on his body.
  • Cruel to Be Kind: He attempts to get rid of Zhuzhi-Lang multiple times in the "Zhuzhi-Lang" extras, but mainly because he wants him to live for himself or at least find someone else besides him to live for. When he was pinned beneath a mountain, he told Zhuzhi-Lang to "scram", but it's likely because for the aforementioned reasons.
  • Dissonant Serenity: His reaction to Su Xiyan's death was rather blase, and his comment to it ran along the lines of, "She's dead now. What else can I do about it?"
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones:
    • Despite his flippant care for everyone else around him, he does have a soft spot for Zhuzhi-Lang.
    • Although he may seem apathetic about her at first, when he's informed of the real reason Su Xiyan stopped seeing him and that she never betrayed him, Tianlang-Jun mutters that there was at least "one good thing" that came out of what happened in the past.
  • Interspecies Romance: He fell in love with a human woman and she later gave birth to Luo Binghe.
  • Intrigued by Humanity: He spent years in the human world growing fascinated by humans and human arts. Despite all that he suffered by their hands from losing his lover and never truly getting to watch his son grow up, he can't bring himself to truly hate humanity.
  • Like Father, Like Son: Tianlang-Jun muses that Luo Binghe was like him in the sense that they're both Intrigued by Humanity.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: His response to having his hand falling off? Shrug it off and simply reattach it. In the Holy Mausoleum arc, he also manages to walk off magma blasting in his face with the only evidence of him triggering that trap being his singed robes.
  • The Mourning After: When he was pinned under a mountain, he spent years reciting poems and plays he remembers Su Xiyan took them to. While it drove him more to tears, he continued on to pass the time and cope. Even after he seems to be over Su Xiyan's betrayal and death, he still holds some feelings towards her when the monk explains what really happened to her.
  • Never Got to Say Goodbye: He never got to properly say his farewells to Su Xiyan, mainly because she didn't want to see him due to the Huan Hua Palace sect hunting both of them down. After he's informed Su Xiyan truly never betrayed him and why she couldn't say goodbye to him, he seems a bit more relieved when he hear this.
  • Proud Beauty:
    • Shen Qingqiu asks if he wants to use Luo Binghe's body as his new vessel since they're related, and he responds by basically saying why would he when his own body is so handsome?
Tianlang-Jun: He can't compare to my own noble, handsome figure, so why would I want his flesh?
Shen Qingqiu: ... [internally] Who said you were more handsome than him? Who put their seal of approval on this?
    • When he first met Su Xiyan, he boasted about his good looks. When she asks for repayment for the twenty silver she gave him earlier, he offers his service which she refuses and then asks her if his face wasn't worth twenty silver, which she actually agrees with.
  • Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense: He was the equivalent of a prince in his realm, but he had absolutely no idea how human money works and just spent as he pleased usually spending more than necessary. Zhuzhi-Lang ended up always being the one to foot the bills. When they obviously ran out of money, this is how Tianlang-Jun met Su Xiyan, who offered him some of her cash.
  • Shipper on Deck: He seems surprised about Luo Binghe's romantic feelings for Shen Qingqiu but is rather supportive of them as an item. He even read The Resentment of Chunshan.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Shen Qingqiu notes that, while Luo Binghe looks like his mother, he has Tianlang-Jun's eyes. In the "Zhuzhi-Lang" extras, he asks Zhuzhi-Lang if Luo Binghe really did look more like Su Xiyan than him and seems satisfied with Zhuzhi-Lang's answer.
  • Villains Out Shopping: Whenever he would visit the human realm in the past, he had no sinister intentions and simply wanted to experience human life.
  • Walking the Earth: The members of the Zhao Hua Temple Sect mention that Tianlang-Jun will likely wander around the world once he recovers from his wounds.
  • You're Not My Father: Even when Tianlang-Jun reveals himself to be Luo Binghe's biological father, the latter wants nothing to do with the man and claims his only family was the washerwoman who adopted him.

Other Characters

    The System (系统)

Voiced by (Mandarin): Zhou Shuai (animation)
Voiced by (Japanese): Noriko Hidaka (animation)

Welcome to the System. This System operates in line with the design concept "YOU CAN YOU UP, NO CAN NO BB"; we hope to provide you with the best possible experience. It is our sincere wish that during your time, you can fulfill your desire, and in accordance with your wish, transform a stupid work into a magnificent, high-quality, first-rate classic. We hope you enjoy.

The mysterious A.I.-like entity that guides and monitors Shen Qingqiu as he progresses through the plot of Proud Immortal Demon Way.
  • Ambiguous Gender: In the donghua, it speaks with a female voice but refers to itself with plural pronouns.
  • The Gadfly: The System likes making the life of their user difficult by being as vague as possible to Luo Binghe's true feelings and for the storyline overall. This even seems to apply to Shang Qinghua, who appears to be in the same boat as Shen Qingqiu in terms of wanting to throttle the System.
  • Holographic Terminal: It appears as a floating screen that reveals textual and vocal information to Shen Qingqiu. It even acts as a menu for Shen Qingqiu to access when picking up items or spells.
  • Machine Monotone: The System does not emote at all when engaging with Shen Qingqiu, yet it still somehow manages to come across as a Deadpan Snarker.
  • Mission Control: It makes sure that Shen Qingqiu stays true to the plot, character and frequently calls him out for acting out of character.
  • Shipper on Deck: Aside from following the canon story line, it eventually develops a goal to get Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu together. It pops up multiple times during romantic-like scenes between the two, even suggesting "scenario pushers" to Shen Qingqiu who blindly takes it, and doesn't notice how the scenes become more romantic in nature. It even notifies Shen Qingqiu of the "Coolness Points" Luo Binghe feels towards his shizun and also of his "Heartbreak Points" after he's pushed into the Abyss. Whenever some kind of physical contact happens between the two, the System starts acting like an ecstatic fangirl.
  • Skewed Priorities: The System is more concerned with Shen Qingqiu sticking to the plot and fulfilling his designation as the villain for Luo Binghe's story than the repercussions his directed actions could have on those around him, especially Luo Binghe.
  • Snark-to-Snark Combat: It's capable of exchanging snark with Shen Qingqiu.

    Qiu Haitang (秋海棠)
Nevertheless, Qiu Haitang was innocent. Her love was deep, her hate was righteous, and she hadn’t really done anything wrong in this whole affair. But, revenge had ground this artless and innocent girl into a bitter woman with a heart full of schemes.

A young woman from Shen Qingqiu's past with a severe grudge against him.
  • Alas, Poor Villain: Although she has villainous intentions against him, Shen Qingqiu can't help but feel pity for her after she bites it in the end.
  • Big Brother Worship: She highly looked up to Qiu Jianluo, which is part of why she doesn't take it well when she's forced to see just how much of a bastard her brother really was through Shen Jiu's memories.
  • Break the Cutie: She goes insane with guilt after seeing visions of Shen Jiu's past.
  • Broken Bird: She was once an innocent girl who loved her family and a boy who they took under their wing to look after. However, that same boy killed her brother, burned her mansion to the ground and left her with nothing, leading her to seek out revenge.
  • Fallen Princess: She was once a rich girl with an affluent family, but later loses it all after they take in Shen Qingqiu.
  • Go Mad from the Revelation: She goes mad with guilt after Meng Mo forces her to see visions of Shen Jiu's suffering at the hands of her family.
  • The Ingenue: When her family was still alive, she was sweet, naive, and completely oblivious to the abuse her "favorite servant" Shen Jiu endured at the hands of her brother.
  • Spanner in the Works: What she was in the original canon, being the first push for Shen Jiu's downfall. In the altered canon, she serves as an Unwitting Pawn to the Old Palace Master instead.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: She shares a lot of similar features to her older brother.
  • Uncertain Doom: The last the reader or Shen Qingqiu sees of her is her running away in a mad panic inside the Holy Mausoleum. Although her fate is uncertain, it's unlikely she escapes alive considering the nature of said place.
