  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Queen Ciel acts kind and sweet when she is willing to help Akari to find Gran's father; however, this is an act and she's actually an evil and uncaring angel who seeks destruction instead of peace. She is also the one who made Delnier's husband "disappear".
  • Dispel Magic: Queen Ciel can dispel any magic abilities or weapons in her presence since she dislikes fighting. Another reason she uses this ability is because it will prevent them from using their magic powers to stop her evil plans to start a war.
  • Evil All Along: Queen Ciel is introduced as the kindest angel who wants peace and dislikes fighting. However, once Cinq and Delnier question her about Shinichiro, she drops the act and reveals she's the one who made Delnier's husband "disappear", and she has no desire for peace, only desiring destruction between the humans and demons. It's implied she's the one who started the war between humans and demons, and that she made a false prophecy about the children of calamity.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Ciel was originally a tiny fairy-like spirit. She exploited this cute appearance to trick the humans and demons of the past into a race war. The negative emotions that arose from the conflict empowered her and turned her into a powerful angel.
  • Phlebotinum Overdose: Ciel's body absorbs negative emotions indefinitely, making her incredibly powerful. However, when hit by a large negative energy beam from Trois and Quatre, who are both under the control of their demonic blood, Ciel's body begins to bloat and warp from absorbing too much.
  • Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: In order to subvert the ancient prophecy of a 10th demon child redeeming the other 9 children and stopping the destruction of the world, she impregnates Akari with her own child in the form of an egg. However, the power residing in the sword by the first hero Van aborts it.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Queen Ciel has no problem almost murdering Akari and Gran's children after they discover her true colors. She attempts to crush Akari—who is holding her infant son—to death with her bare hands. She later after capturing Akari and her children, wanted to execute them in front of the gathered crowd to break their spirits. This included the toddler triplets.

He later gives a secret letter to Gran after capturing Akari and their children so he can come save them, as David's hands are otherwise tied by Ciel.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: He has a scar running down the right side of his face.
  • Knight Templar: In contrast to Albert's more classically heroic traits, David is more ruthless in his approach with the Demons. He also has no problem sending his men to attack the Dwarves after he believes they were housing the demons.
