Our Heroes
Tropes That Apply To All The Heroes
- Catchphrase: Each of them has their own signature battle quip, see individual folders for the specifics.
- The Chosen Many: All together, their team name becomes "The **Outset** Army" to reflect this fact!
- First-Name Basis: In day-to-day interactions.
- Meaningful Titles: However, each hero has a formal title. These are unique to each person, and are formatted as "(Full Name), the (Main Personality Trait) (Class Title)". Some even have titles they acquired in their home worlds added in. See each individual's folder for specifics.
The Dream Team
Brittney
"Come at Mii!"
- Amnesia Missed a Spot: Thanks to a talisman she prepared when the island was cursed, she quickly breaks from its memory-altering effects! Instead of re-mind wipeing her, Dark Lord Rumple leaves her like this, to miserably wander a world populated with friends and relatives who wouldn't know her from a stranger. This doesn't end well for him.
- Battle Couple: With Howl, as the 'Sword' to his 'Sorcerer'. At least until they reach Neksdor!
- Berserk Button: Yeah, harming any of her loved ones isn't a good idea if you want to live!
- Friendly Address Privileges: Doesn't take kindly to Morro calling her "princess", as that's Howl's nickname/pet name for her.
- Happily Married: To Howl.
- Heroic BSoD: Briefly suffers one when the Dark Curse takes her mother, AKA The Great Sage). She sat alone at the Inn, crying to the voice in the Antique Charm, and having it replay memories of Kimberly. Fortunately, Emily is able to cheer up her friend.
- Meaningful Titles: She has the most of these out of the whole group, due to being cursed so many times. These are, in order: "Brittney the Energetic Warrior", "Brittney, the Energetic Mage, and "Brittney, the Energetic Princess.
- Pretty Princess Powerhouse: Her third battle form.
- Red Baron: Is sometimes referred to as "The Hibiscus Warrior", a reference to both her days in the Smash Tournaments and her signature hair accessory that restores her memory!
- Withholding Their Name: A variant. While everyone in the story knows her full name, it's Brittney's surname that's withheld from the audience. This is because, unlike most of the other characters, Brittney is a real person who wants to keep some of their privacy intact.
Howl Penndragon
"Get Calcified!"
- Battle Couple: With Brittney, as the 'Sorcerer' to her 'Sword'.
- Happily Married: To Brittney.
- Meaningful Titles: "Howl Pendragon, the Kind Mage".
- Red Baron: Is sometimes called "Wizard Howl" (his title from his homeland of Ingary) when someone is being respectful but the setting isn't formal enough for his full status.
Mipha
"It is my pleasure!"
- Meaningful Titles: "Mipha, the Kind Cleric".
Tetra 'Zelda' Hyrule
"I'll launch you good!"
- Meaningful Titles: "Tetra, the Stubborn Theif".
Team Ninja
Zane Julien
- Amnesiac Lover: To P.I.X.A.L., at least when Brittney initially finds him. This doesn't last long, and finding P.I.X.A.L. becomes his priority after flipping his memory switch again.
- Chef of Iron
- Meaningful Titles: "Zane Julien, the Kind Chef and Master of Ice".
- Ridiculously Human Robot: or rather Nindroid.
P.I.X.A.L. Borg
"Chance of victory: 100%!"
- Meaningful Titles: "P.I.X.A.L., the Cautious Scientist".
Morro
- Advertised Extra: His appearance in the story's initial trailers makes it seem as though he is apart of the core team. While he still ends up being a main hero, his introduction to the story doesn't happen until roughly the middle, and he gets a bit less focus than the members of The Dream Team.
- Butt-Monkey: From being forced into his battle class by Dark Lord Rumple to falling in battle ridiculously often to his hilariously misguided attempts at courting Brittney!
- Deathbringer the Adorable: He's a sarcastic, slightly unhinged ghost dressed in a fluffy cat costume.
- Meaningful Titles: "Morro, the Stubborn Cat and Master of Wind".
Emergancy Team C
Nya Smith
"Samurai X to the rescue!"
- Never Trust a Trailer: Her focal appearance in the "Comradere" trailer not only showed her as being a Cleric, but that she'd be around in the early game and her relationship with Jay would would have a huge focus in the story. Nya is actually a Warrior, and shows up in one of the story's final stretches. Also, her subplot with Jay only lasts for the length of a single mission!
- Meaningful Titles: "Nya, the Stubborn Warrior".
Lloyd Garmadon
"Ninja never quit!"
- Commonality Connection: He and Brittney have a moment of this together before storming the Skyscraper. They bond over their shared situation as Chosen Ones, team leaders, and having a beloved parent be possessed by a great evil.
- Meaningful Titles: "Lloyd Garmadon, the Kind Warrior and Beloved Green Ninja".
Emily
"See ya babe!"
- Meaningful Titles: "Emily, the Cool Imp".
- Withholding Their Name: As she is Brittney's best friend in Real Life, her surname also gets this treatment.
