Agares/Jolyne Kokinos

Frederica "Freya" Neves

  • Church Militant
  • Cycle of Revenge - engaged in an decades-long feud with Samigina perpetuated by the fact that neither of them die permanently.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen - was cold and distant in her first appearance, but gradually warmed up over the course of the story.
  • Determinator - Samigina has killed her well over 500 times in her life, seriously eclipsing her in power for most of her life. Freya still chases her for well over 60 years, intent of fulfilling the task that was given to her.
  • Enigmatic Empowering Entity - Gabrielle. She thought a young Exorcist going after one of the most powerful demons in Hell was humorous, and as such kept resurrecting Freya whenever she died (usually by Samigina's hands) so they could keep fighting.
  • Killed Off for Real - Lillith rips her heart out.
  • Mad Bomber - with her Exorcist techniques.
  • Nun Too Holy - as far as being a Church-bound Exorcist is concerned.
  • Older Than They Look - same as Agares, she's about 90 years old, though she appears to be in her mid-twenties.
  • The Spartan Way - how she was raised, and thus how she tends to act.

Samigina/Hannah Liddell

  • Cycle of Revenge - engaged in an decades-long feud with Freya perpetuated by the fact that neither of them die permanently.
  • Killed Off for Real - see Suicide Attack
  • It Amused Me - she was opportunistic as a human, and it culminated in becoming a demon because she could.
  • Lonely at the Top - after three centuries of immortality, she found being a demon wasn't quite what she expected it to be. Ultimately, this is what causes her death, as she felt Freya pursuing her gave her a purpose once more, and once Freya was gone, well...
  • Nun Too Holy - as a human, she was a nun, and still wears her habit because it's ironic.
  • Our Liches Are Different - technically one by virtue of half her soul being torn into multiple pieces and put inside books, though the rest of it is still inside her flesh body.
  • Pyrrhic Victory / Broke Your Arm Punching Out Cthulhu - she successfully destroys Lillith's cathedral and mortally wounds her host body, more than any of the others had managed to do before — but at the cost of her life.
  • Really 700 Years Old - about 300 years old, but appears to be in her early 20s.
  • Soul Jar - developed a spell that ripped out portions of her soul to store in her grimoires, so they could independently cast spells. It also gives her a form of immortality.
  • Suicide Attack - she uses her last remaining grimoire as firepower against Lillith, blowing her chapel up.
  • Token Evil Teammate - for the main characters. She outright admits she's not a good person, but it doesn't stop her from assisting them.
  • Witch Species - and one of the most powerful.
