- Abusive Dad: Before escaping to Priapia, Ilse was abused in every which way by her father. During her time away from home, he was charged and taken away to jail, where he subsequently died.
- Beneath the Mask: Ilse acts as if she hasn't a care in the world, and a lot of the time, that is the case. However, she struggles quite badly with eating and weight issues, and has a lot of problems with self confidence that only a select few friends get to see.
- Drowning My Sorrows: If Ilse's upset, her first instinct is to find a way to get out and get pissed. If that doesn't work, a day in with the girls will do.
- Earthy Barefoot Character: All pretending aside, Ilse is incredibly in tune with herself, and with the world around her, often stopping to quite literally smell the roses. She is known to sometimes forget her shoes, and never usually notices the lack of them until it's pointed out to her.
- It Runs in the Family: Ilse's mother has a history with Priapia, but that's not the only thing they share. Both mother and daughter are known for their flighty natures and outrageous personalities.
- Manic Pixie Dream Girl: No way would Ilse let any of her friends, particularly ex-boyfriend, Moritz Stiefel, get away with living a life anywhere close to normalcy!
Martha Bessel
A seamstress with a small online shop, Martha is a gentle girl currently living with abusive parents. Although this takes its toll on her, she desperately wants to be more than her suffering, and does her best to rebel in her own quiet way. Is currently dating Georg.- Abusive Parents: Her mother is verbally abusive, while her father is abusive in every way possible.
- Dark Secret: Although most of her friends know about the abuse she suffers, only Ilse knows the full extent of it.
- Determinator: She has dark moments, but she works hard to keep going no matter what happens.
- Emotionally Tongue-Tied: Has a tendency to become this when stressed.
- Helicopter Parents: Taken to an extreme. Her father dictates everything from when she goes out to how she wears her hair. This leads to a lot of sneaking around on Martha's part.
- Only Sane Man: Sometimes plays this role during Ernst and Ilse's plots.
- Team Mom: Lampshaded in-universe by Martha herself and several characters, to the point where she's earned the nickname "Momtha."
- Think Happy Thoughts: A common coping mechanism for Martha, she often thinks of her friends during hard times to remain hopeful.
