     Protagonists

Shamsiel

Meicrackmon

  • Our Angels Are Different: She's a cat-like subspecies who's rather meek and down to earth.
  • Shrinking Violet: Shamsiel is incredibly shy and awkward with people as a rule.
  • Wide-Eyed Idealist: Due to her sheltered upbringing, Shamsiel tends toward an idealistic mindset and practically worships the ground the Royal Knights walk on.

Yamato Takeshi

Cyberdramon

  • Large Ham: His heroic personality manifests itself often as catchphrases and one-liners delivered in a booming tone.
  • Phlebotinum Rebel: Fitting his Kamen Rider vibes, he was augmented by an evil organisation only to use his enhancements to defeat them in turn.
  • Super-Strength: Due to his cybernetic augmentations, Yamato is stronger than a normal Cyberdramon, though even this has its limits.

Tobei Tachibana

Datamon

  • I Owe You My Life: Or something of the sort, he chose to serve as Yamato's retainer out of gratitude for Yamato defeating the villains who used his work for evil ends.
  • Non-Action Guy: He's a scientist, not a fighter.
  • Shout-Out: He's directly named after the man who assisted many of the early Kamen Riders.

Averitt Drayce

ChaosGallantmon

  • Black Knight: Though he isn't that way by choice and is far more noble than most.
  • The Corruption: He ought to be an ordinary Gallantmon, but infection by what Galahad describes as a 'plague' warped him into his present form.
  • Invisible to Normals: The corruption that warps Averitt's form goes against the very order of Idyll, so most Digimon find their gaze subconsciously slipping away from him.

     The Royal Knights

Group Tropes:

  • Custom Uniform: Each Knight bears a shard of Artorigus's sword Caledfwlch which manifests as a unique weapon or trait for their species.
  • Theme Naming: Similarly to their counterparts in Unholy Crusade, they're named after the Knights of the Round Table, but use Old English variants of the names to distinguish them.

King Artorigus Pendragon

Imperialdramon Paladin Mode

  • The Good King: Since rising to the throne after the war with Olympus, Artorigus has become renowned the world over as a noble, kind and just king.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: Caledfwlch, the Worldsword, a mysterious blade which grants Artorigus power beyond even the incredible capabilities of a regular Imperialdramon Paladin Mode.

Ser Lancelot

Omnimon

  • The Lancer: Fittingly for his name, Lancelot fills a classic lancer role in that he questions the limits of Artorigus's idealism and in his own right struggles with the lofty standards of knighthood.
  • Named Weapons: His shard of Caledfwlch transformed his Grey Sword into the blade Arondight.
  • World's Strongest Man: A very strong contender for the title, with only Artorigus and his son throwing this status into question.

Ser Galahad

Alphamon

  • Aloof Ally: As is the norm for Alphamon, Galahad is rather distant from his peers, only really sharing a bond with the similarly enlightened Ser Peredur.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Rescues the protagonists from possessed angels and teleports them to safety.
  • Healing Hands: After rescuing the protagonists from angels in Camelot, Galahad demonstrates the ability to heal their wounds with an abnormal technique for his species.
  • Power Gives You Wings: When Galahad draws upon his Caledfwlch shard, he manifests the feathered wings of the Alphamon Ouryuken form.
  • Mass Teleportation: He can teleport himself and others at a whim.
  • Time Master: Subtly implied by how he defeats the angels who attack the protagonists, tying into Alphamon's Alpha in-Force ability.

Ser Gwalchmai

Gallantmon

  • The Ace: Everyone likes Gwalchmai and he's widely considered one of the greatest knights for his dedication and chivalry if not his raw strength.
  • The Heart: Outright described as such in his character profile.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: Perhaps the most heroic of the Knights wields the holy sword Galatine.
  • Named Weapons: His shard of Caledfwlch replaces the normal Gram lance with the sword Galatine.
  • The Power of the Sun: Reflecting early versions of the Arthurian myths where Sir Gawain grew more powerful as the sun rose, Gwalchmai is strongly associated with sunlight in comparison to the normal lightning of a Gallantmon.

Ser Agravaine

Craniamon

  • Black Knight: To the other Knights' Knight in Shining Armor.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Agravaine will do whatever it takes to win and protect Albion, honor and chivalry be damned.
  • Token Evil Teammate: By design, Agravaine cultivates this image in order to spare his fellow Knights the need to stain their hands in the name of a better world.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Though Agravaine is brutal and ruthless, he does genuinely seek a better world with the same fervency as the likes of Peredur. In his eyes, he simply accepts the reality that terrible things have to be done to secure that future and protect it.

Ser Bors

Magnamon

  • Odd Friendship: The highly devout and spiritual Bors counts the conflicted Ser Lancelot as his best friend.
  • Power Fist: Bors's Caledfwlch shard takes the shape of a pair of gauntlets that enhance his strength.
  • Religious Bruiser: Bors is one of the most openly devout knights, patronising the more overt worship of Yggdrasil compared to Galahad's focus upon contemplation and meditation.

Ser Cei

Dynasmon

  • Honest Advisor: Cei has known Artorigus since childhood, and this perspective allows him to voice opinions to his king that no one else would dare to.
  • Mythology Gag: While it's not named as such, the description of Cei's claymore makes it clear that it's supposed to be the Wyrmflame sword from the original iteration of Civil War and Dark Reign.
  • One-Handed Zweihänder: Cei's Caledfwlch shard takes the form of a monstrously huge claymore that he's nonetheless strong enough to swing like a twig one-handed.
  • Undying Loyalty: As Artorigus's childhood friend, Cei's loyalty to him is second to none.
  • World's Strongest Man: In raw physical strength, Cei is unmatched by anyone, but he simply can't match up against the magical power the likes of Lancelot and Artorigus bring to bear.

Ser Gareth

LordKnightmon

  • Agent Peacock: His armor is fabulously pink, but he's terrifyingly skilled in combat and crafts the best weapons on Idyll outside it.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's rather arrogant, but he does genuinely care about his people.
  • Royal Rapier: His Caledfwlch shard takes the form of one
  • Ultimate Blacksmith: He's widely considered the best blacksmith on Idyll, though he maintains that only once he forges a blade the equal of Caledfwlch will he consider himself such.

Ser Medrawd

UlforceVeedramon

  • Combat Pragmatist: Due to his brother Agravaine's influence, Medrawd favors the tactic that wins the day over the tactic that makes him look good, reflected by his Caledfwlch shard becoming an invisible sword.
  • The Stoic: He's often quiet and calculating, noted to measure his words 'as a banker weighs gold'.

Ser Drystan

Sleipmon

  • The Gadfly: At court, he's noted to be rather whimsical and deadpan.
  • Happily Married: To his likeminded wife Iseult.
  • Master Archer: Though it's partly due to being made from a Caledfwlch shard, his bow Failnaught was so named for never missing its mark.
  • Warrior Poet: Drystan delights in the arts, fighting primarily to win peace so that his beloved music, poetry and the like can have their day.

Ser Lucan

Duftmon

  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: His Caledfwlch shard grants him a weightless shield of light.
  • The Smart Guy: He's a military and civic genius above all.
  • The Strategist: As is standard for his species, Lucan is a master of strategy and tactics, though he also turns his keen mind to logistical matters of peacetime.

Ser Bedwyr

Examon

  • Artificial Limbs: His Caledfwlch shard takes the shape of a silvery white prosthetic hand, replacing one lost during the war with Olympus.
  • Determinator: Bedwyr is renowned for his unbreakable will, with it being said that if Lucan crafts the plan of attack, it is Bedwyr who sees it through to victory.
  • Wide-Eyed Idealist: Bedwyr genuinely believes that Artorigus will create a brilliant and beautiful world.

Ser Palamedes

Gankoomon

  • But Now I Must Go: His profile notes that he's tempted to do this and leave Albion, but he stays out of a sense of duty and curiosity about what Artorigus will create.
  • Humble Hero: Palamedes often works alongside his subjects and treat them as equals rather than seeing himself as their lord.
  • Martial Arts Staff: Befitting his martial artist style and humble personality, this is the form his Caledfwlch shard takes.
  • Walking the Earth: Palamedes prefers to travel around his realm and hear the peoples' thoughts and woes in person rather than hold court at his castle.

Ser Peredur

Jesmon

  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: He will help any Digimon he finds in need without fail.
  • Guardian Entity: In addition to the three a regular Jesmon has, Peredur's Caledfwlch shard grants him a fourth, Artagnan.
  • Humble Hero: Both because of his modest upbringing and Palamedes' tutelage, Peredur retains a very humble sensibility and never neglects to help any Digimon in need.
  • The Sixth Ranger: He was the last to join the Royal Knights during the war with Olympus.
  • Wide-Eyed Idealist: Peredur genuinely believes that the Royal Knights will transform the world into a paradise through their efforts.
