The Party

    Hero

Hero/""/""

""
The protagonist of the story. A chosen champion of the church, he is tasked with eliminating a certain demon lord. However, he soon finds out the she can reincarnate in his body.

    Gilbert

Gilbert/""

""
A member of the party and a noble paladin of the church.
  • My Greatest Failure: Not telling the group beforehand that the Demon Lord would very well reincarnate in the hero's body.

    Aria

Aria

""
A member of the party and a mage tasked with eliminating the Demon Lord.

The Demons

     In General
A race of demonic beings that target humans.
  • Achilles' Heel: They are burnt and disintegrated by holy weapons and magic.
  • Cute Monster Girl: As expected of Ibenz 009, with Gilda taking it up to eleven. Justified as there have been succubi in ancient mythology and popular culture.
  • Emotion Eater: Much like the Grimm in RWBY, feeding on the negative emotions of humans allows them to sustain them, and make them stronger.
  • Holy Burns Evil: Demons are burned and disintegrated by holy spells and magic. When the malfested Aria attempts to purify the Demon Lord by conjuring up a holy spell out of her own magical power, it starts burning her from the inside out.
  • It Can Think: Demons, more or less, can think and feel like humans, and perform magic as well.
  • One-Gender Race: Subverted. While the main demons are shown to be female, male demons could exist, according to Aria's flashback.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: The demon cores on their bodies.
  • Was Once a Man: Thus far, all the demons shown, barring the demon lord herself, were humans at one point in their lives.

    The Demon Lord

The Demon Lord/""

""
The main antagonist of the story. She possesses many great magical powers, including the ability to reincarnate in other people's bodies.
  • Always Chaotic Evil: Word Of God says that she is a force of nature akin to a volcano - every time she is defeated, she simply regenerates a brand new body, or reincarnates into a person of her choosing. She only exists to corrupt the land, that's all.
  • Ambiguously Evil: Whatever she did to earn her reputation, or why she did them, is not explained in full.
  • Big Bad: Arguably the main driving force in the first comic.
  • Black Eyes of Crazy: One of her defining traits
  • Blood Knight: Enjoys a good fight, which is pronounced ever since she reincarnated in the hero's body.
  • Demon Lords and Archdevils: She is the supreme leader of all demonkind, and the very force of nature empowering them. Every demon she transforms serves as her lieutenants.
  • Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Briefly, when she begins reincarnating in her new host.
  • Eyes Do Not Belong There: Her demonic cores, which are present on her hands, feet, and especially above her chest.
  • Half the Woman She Used to Be: Her previous body ended up like this by the holy longsword. It doesn't stick.
  • Instant Armor: Can easily form her "clothes" out of magic and goo. Yes, metal plates and fabric waistcoats are solidified molecule by molecule.
  • Resurrective Immortality: Her main shtick - every time she is destroyed, she just regenerates a new body. Including reincarnating in the very protagonist himself.
  • Satanic Archetype: Natch.
  • Shout-Out: Her finalized color palette and overall design is overall taken from the "Demon" in Monster Girl Encyclopedia.
  • Stripperiffic: It is doubtful that her main getup could even be barely considered a Leotard of Power, being made of goo-formed metal and fabric.
  • Xanatos Gambit: The reason why she offers Aria a choice in the sequel. Should Aria obey, she will have gained a powerful and loyal servant. Should Aria escape and choose another champion, she will enjoy a good fight, even if her body is destroyed for the umpteenth time. Since she will eventually reincarnate and gradually corrupt the land anyway, she will still win, and doesn't even care about dying, so long as she has her fun.
  • Yellow Eyes of Sneakiness: They show how manipulative and sinister she really is.

     The Golem - "Gilda"

"Gilda"

""
The first and loyal servant to the Demon Lord in the comic, and Gilbert transformed into a demon.
  • Genki Girl: Is one of the most enthusiastic characters of the story.
  • Power Floats: One of the only demons thus far to levitate above the ground as opposed to simply flying.
  • Prophet Eyes: Don't be mistaken - her "regular" eyes are not merely vestigial - she can actually see from them.
  • Pure Is Not Good: Sure, she behaves like an innocent child, but she is easily manipulated by the Demon Lord.
  • Troll: Because of her tendency to engage in this, it's extremely hard to take her at her word.
  • Womanchild: Has this kind of mentality, even speaking in child-like terms.

The Church

     The Church
""

     Otto
  • Knight in Sour Armor: He's grizzled from his time fighting demons, but he still takes the time to do good by Aria.
  • Parental Substitute: Along with Aria's elderly mentor, he serves as this due to taking her in once her parents died.
