This is a list of all of the characters that have appeared in the Borderworld stories thus far.

Setting

Characters who appear in multiple stories and who are important to the setting in general.

Gods

Discord

The Eternal born from the Fundament of Chaos, known as the Spirit of Chaos and Disharmony. He has lived many lives in his long existence, but currently takes the form of a draconequus named Loki.

• I Have Many Names: Being an Eternal, Discord has gone by many names and titles throughout his lifetimes. And being Discord, they range from the terrifying to outright silly.

The Tree of Harmony

The Eternal born of the Fundament of Harmony, who takes the form of a crystalline tree. Created the Elements of Harmony.

• Beware the Nice Ones: In Just Dodge when Lyracord tries to kill the Bearers of Harmony (long story), their powers then promptly incinerate her. This is also what got Lyra to stop her bet with Discord when she realised she has gone too far.
• Reconcile the Bitter Foes: At some point in the history of the universe, Harmony decided to become this towards Discord and Order, having seen the good sides of both factions.
• World Tree: Of a sort. She does go by the name Yggdrasil after all.

Order

The Eternal born of Fundament of Order, who calls himself the Lord of Order and the Emperor of the Universe. Has had many bodies, but always appears as an equinoid being. Currently takes the form of an alicorn named Svaðilfari.

• God-Emperor: He is described as the "absolute monarch and patron deity" of his own interstellar empire.
• I Have Many Names: Like Discord, Order has had many titles and names throughout space.
• The Sociopath: Given that he is pure order, he desires a universe without emotion where all beings work by cold, hard logic. Though Word of God does say he is capable of changing or at least being befriended, in a similar way Discord was.

Hixelkicks, Godmother of Chimeras

An ally of Discord in the Eternal War, and creator god of the chimeric species such as the griffons, draconequui, etc. Discord considers her a mother figure, despite her being a younger deity than himself.

• Mama Bear: Is this to Discord. In Just Dodge! he notes to Lyra that if she thought that he was trapped by Sleipnir, it wouldn't end well for anybody.

A yellow pegauses in Ponyville, born from Cloudsdale, who holds the Element of Kindness, thus technically being on the "side" of Harmony. She is also became Discord's first and best friend in Equestria.

Queen Chrysalis

The king of the deer, known as the Heart of the Forest, who rules the kingdom of Thicket within the Everfree. A servant of Order, and an enemy of Discord.

• Chaos Is Evil: He seems to think this, due to being so bound to Order. Naturally, he also has misconceptions about how Chaos actually works.

The Fates (Lachesis, Atropos, and Clotho) are three alicorn sisters created by Order, who use a magical device called the Loom to control the destinies of worlds in his empire. They live in the ice-cold realm of Niflheim on an artificial island surrounded by ice lake, called Isle of Destiny.

• Alas, Poor Villain: As awful as having the Loom around is, their reaction of terror to the imminent destruction of their Loom, their home, and their lives.
• Big "NO!": The last known words of Atropos before the Loom exploded.
• Killed Off for Real:
• Oh, Crap!: The Fates' reaction moments before Discord destroys the Loom. And their home.

An outer god and old enemy of Discord, who he encounters again by chance while travelling in deep space.

• Affably Evil: For an eldritch being, he can be surprisingly friendly with gods, malevolent or otherwise. Though his warped morality and hungry nature would probably not make him endearing to the average beings.
• Eldritch Abomination: Eats worlds? Check. Very old being? Check. Appears as a large mass of ooze? Check.
• Odd Friendship: If the chosen champions of a world gives him a worthy challenge, he would consider them his friends. **A tiny few consider this friendship mutual, but the vast majority who have lost their homes would come to hate him. Discord falls with the latter group.
• Planet Eater: He eats planets and their entire planets for food.

• Determinator: He had his flesh burned off permanently by magic, and became scattered ash. Did that stop him? Oh no, he eventually just brought his ashes back together into a skeletal body, using his own power and sheer determination.
• No Name Given: His real name in the previous universe isn't outright stated, but he's implied to be a version of Lord Second from Human.

• Legacy Character: Or more like legacy organization. According to side-information, the organization went through three different iterations. The first was the Chaos Cult, the second the Cult of Discord (which was made by minotaurs who honour Discord rather than worship him) and the Brotherhood is the third iteration in the present day.
