He may become president through democratic or authoritarian means.
- Military Coup: If President Vargas sent help to the German Embassy and apologized for the attack on it, Gomes can pressure Vargas into resigning, and will coup the government once he does, declaring himself President for Life.
- Gomes may also make a coup against Montero with American assistance if Operation Spill is discovered.
