Splatoon

    Callie and Marie

Callie and Marie

First appearance: "If Mario was in... Splatoon" (2017)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2024_01_28_222122.jpg
The pop singer idols of Inkopolis, hosts of Inkopolis News, and announcers for Splatfest.
  • Break the Cutie: Callie expresses worry for Marie when she's one of the victims kidnapped by Francis and the anime cartel, even looking like she's about to cry.
  • Large Ham: As expected from pop singers, they announce Splatfests with as much flair as possible.
  • Mr. Exposition: They clarify why Splatfest is ending after "Meggy's Destiny"; because of cost-effect reasons.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: On the one hand, they threatened to disqualify Meggy's team if another fight between them and Team Killer Ink happens, even though the latter team started it. On the other hand, when it's discovered that the Ink Brigade cheated, they give her the chance to get back in the game.

    Cap'n Cuttlefish

Cap'n Cuttlefish

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/captain_cuttlefish.png
First appearance: "If Mario was in... Splatoon" (2017)
An elderly Inkopolis resident.
  • Aborted Arc: He agrees to be on Desti's team at the end of "If Mario was in... Splatoon 2", but this team-up wouldn't carry over to future appearances, especially after Desti's death.
  • Cool Old Guy: Cool enough to protect baby Inklings during a mass kidnapping in "The Inkling Disappearances".
  • Fake Shemp: In "We Interrupt This Broadcast", he uses Tingle's voice clips for his dialogue, like Jeeves.
  • Innocently Insensitive: He tells Meggy that her idol One-Shot Wren fell off in a rather condescending way while complaining about how much he has to clean up. She doesn't take it well.
  • Mr. Exposition: He gives Meggy and Tari a clue as to what happened to One-Shot Wren all those years ago, and why his statue at the museum was disrespected.
  • New Job as the Plot Demands: With a new location to go with. In "We Interrupt This Broadcast", he works as a janitor in a museum far from Inkopolis, where he usually resides.
  • Sudden Name Change: "We Interrupt This Broadcast" gives him the name "Old Man", for some reason. This is especially jarring considering the recurring character with that same name.

    Sam and Kenji

Sam and Kenji

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2024_01_28_224329.jpg
Unfortunately, it's hard to tell which one's Sam and which one's Kenji.
First appearance: "If Mario was in... Splatoon" (2017)
Meggy's old Splat Squad teammates. Heavy Squid is a former member as well, but he belongs in another category.
  • Flat Character: Whereas Meggy would have distinct personality traits later on, nothing is known about these two, other than a desire to win Splatfest.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: It's unknown what became of them after the events of "If Mario was in... Splatoon". A popular fan theory is that they got fed up with Meggy's bossy attitude and obsession with winning that was shown in "If Mario was in... Splatoon 2" and "Meggy's Bootcamp".

    The Ink Brigade

The Ink Brigade

First appearance: "If Mario was in... Splatoon" (2017)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ab8620a0_738e_4bdf_8ca7_a138ddf6f8f2.png
Meggy's first Splatfest rival team.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Downplayed in that they don't do anything particularly heinous, but they still beat Meggy in their debut appearance.
  • The Bus Came Back: They disappeared after "If Mario was in... Splatoon", but came back for "Meggy's Destiny".
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: Their attempt to cheat in "Meggy's Destiny" gets noticed and exposed by Mario, which leads to their disqualification.
  • Flat Character: We know nothing about them. Even less than Team Killer Ink after them, whose Fantastic Racism against humans isn't a good character trait, but it's at least something.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: After beating Meggy in their debut appearance, they get disqualified for cheating in "Meggy's Destiny".
  • No Name Given: They weren't given names.
  • Offscreen Karma: We don't see them getting disqualified in "Meggy's Destiny" for cheating. We just have the Squid Sisters' word to go by.

    The Octoposse

The Octoposse

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2024_01_29_101631.jpg
First appearance: "If Mario was in... Splatoon 2" (2018)
Desti's teammates.
  • The Bus Came Back: They were tied to Desti in her first few appearances, but while she was starting to mellow out and bond with the SMG4 Gang, they sit out the events of the Anime Arc, only coming back to attend her funeral. Afterwards, they disappeared for a long time, though they did make cameos in the 10th anniversary special and the Revelations movie.
  • Flat Character: They have no personality aside from just being Desti's followers. Even after her death, their appearances following that are too brief to really give us any notable character traits.
  • Girl Posse: It's even in their team name.
  • Green and Mean: Well, more teal and mean, but still.
  • No Name Given: What are their individual names?
  • Undying Loyalty: Despite Desti not exactly being the best team leader, they still follow her, even attending her funeral.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Their scarce appearances in the main SMG4 videos (especially after Desti's death) aside, it's never explained what would become of them in the final timeline of 'WHAT IF...?", which depicts Desti surviving the events of the Anime Arc, growing closer to Meggy, and winning Splatfest with her. You'd think Desti's old team would at least have been acknowledged during all that.

    Team Killer Ink

Team Killer Ink

First appearance: Meggy's Destiny: An SMG4 Movie (2020)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/6f900cc4_17e1_4d04_8ef4_1b95122dd93e.jpeg
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/98d45812_aaf5_4c07_a0ae_cc26c1a654fe.jpeg

The main antagonistic faction of Meggy's Destiny. They are a group of rival inklings to the Splat Squad and one of the many Turf War teams who are competing in the final Splatfest event. They're also huge jerks who are discriminatory to humans, as they mock Meggy and the others and refer to them as "humans" rather than their actual names.

  • The Ace: They are the most skilled team in Splatfest and the most nightmarish to face for the other competitors.
  • Alpha Bitch: Their Leader is arguably one of the nastiest Inklings ever.
  • Bad Boss: The leader shows how little she cares about her teammates when she kicks one of them in the chest after they lose.
  • Big Bad: Though they aren't out to conquer the world, they're major arrogant jackasses who look down on humans, and are the biggest obstacle for Meggy and the Splat Squad to overcome in order to win the final Splatfest, essentially making them this for "Meggy's Destiny".
  • Boss Subtitles: Appear for them when they make their first appearance.
  • Evil Counterpart: The whole team—but especially the leader—are essentially the nasty side of Desti minus the Hidden Depths she would gain later on, which get switched out for a healthy dose of Fantastic Racism towards Meggy and her friends.
  • Fantastic Racism: They show their distaste for Meggy and her friends by referring to them as "humans" rather than their actual name.
  • Final Boss: In a literal sense, since they and Meggy's team are competing in the last Splatfest.
  • Flat Character: They're Meggy's rivals who hate humans... and that's it.
  • Hate Sink: Since they're bland, are racist towards humans, didn't got redeemed and have only one appearance it's easy to say that they're not meant to be liked.
  • Jerkass: All of them are rude, obnoxious, arrogant, uncaring, and when they're introduced in the movie's promotion, they score the full five points in the "Douchebag" category.
  • Jerk Jock: They're the most athletic and skilled shooters in Splatfest, and the rudest.
  • Karma Houdini: Leader gets no comeuppance for Meggy's attempted murder other than her defeat in the Splatfest overall.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: They're subjected to it at the end of the first round when they insult Meggy and Mario one too many times. The Squid Sisters manage to stop it by threatening the Splatsquad with disqualification.
  • No Name Given: The members were never given names, and the leader of the group was simply referred to as "leader" in the dialogue.
  • One-Shot Characters: Their only appearance so far was in Meggy's Destiny, clearly being disposable for the task.
  • Replacement Flat Character: The entire team acts as this to Desti, retaining her early characterization as an Alpha Bitch with little else and lacking the Hidden Depths she would later develop.
  • Sore Loser: A staple of Inklings, but their leader takes it to the next level as after losing, she kicks one of her teammates in the chest and screams in pure rage.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Leader throws a major tantrum after Team Splatsquad defeats her in the Splatfest, and promptly kicks one of her teammates in the chest.
  • Yellow Eyes of Sneakiness: All of them sport these.

    Crusty Sean
First appearance: Meggy's Destiny: An SMG4 Movie (2020)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gh2z_8bakaawue5_1.png
"Sorry, ma'am. We do not serve humans."
The server at the Crust Bucket food truck from Splatoon 2.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: He refused to sell Meggy ice cream on account of her being a human... or, as he puts it, "health and safety regulations". Nothing in the Splatoon franchise suggested such restrictions.
  • Butt-Monkey: Niles throws him at Swagmaster in "Mario Suffers Infinite Detention", and he gets his shape stolen by Wario in "If Mario Was In... Squid Games".

    Big Man

Big Man

First appearance: If Mario Was In... Splatoon 3 (2022)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/big_man_in_smg4.png
"WE WON'T LET THOSE F*CKERS TAKE THIS LAND!!!"
A manta ray that appears in Splatoon 3. He attacked the SMG4 Gang for a brief period during the Lawsuit Arc.
  • Adaptational Villainy: He appears as an antagonist in "If Mario was in... Splatoon 3". Technically, he—along with the rest of Deep Cut—were antagonists in Splatoon 3 as well, but they had a Heel–Face Turn, whereas this version of the character gets a Heel–Face Door-Slam.
  • You Don't Look Like You: Because the character's model wasn't released yet, he's represented by just a generic manta ray with a headband and bloodshot eyes.

    Inkling Bullies

Inkling Bullies

First appearance: "We Interrupt This Broadcast..." (2023)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/inkling_bullies.png
A trio of Inklings who make fun of One-Shot Wren after he has supposedly fallen off under orders from their mysterious boss.
  • Dirty Coward: The leader whimpers and begs for mercy when Meggy has him cornered, and while he doesn't give away his boss's identity, he does tell her that they were Just Following Orders. Then, when she's distracted, he kicks himself free and runs away.
  • Karma Houdini: While Meggy does give them a good chase and a good scare, they all manage to get away with their theft of Meggy's beanie and their disrespect towards One-Shot Wren, their part in Wren's plan fulfilled.
  • Kids Are Cruel: Considering they run away from Meggy knowing they have her beanie... yeah. Not to mention their reckless behavior at the museum before Meggy catches up to them.
  • Just Following Orders: Their disrespect towards One-Shot Wren was because someone told them to. Specifically, Wren himself.
  • No Name Given: Enemy Inkling/Octoling teams going without individual names seems to be a running trend in SMG4's videos.
  • Red Is Violent: The leader of this troublesome gang has bright red hair, and his jacket has dark red on it. His subtitle text is also red.
  • Sinister Shades: One of the bullies wears dark sunglasses.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: A team of nasty Inklings making life hell for Meggy? Sounds like Team Killer Ink. To drive the point home, both teams' leader is just named "Leader" in the subtitles.
  • Terrible Trio: Three ruffians who knowingly steal Meggy's beanie. Or were given it by One-Shot Wren. One of the two.

    Inkura (UNMARKED SPOILERS)

Inkura

First appearance: SMG4 Movie: WESTERN SPAGHETTI (2023)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/inkura_smg4.png
An Inkling from the works of Alex Spider, who not only competed against the legendary One-Shot Wren, but also beat him.
  • Canon Immigrant: An Inkopolis resident from another YouTuber's series not associated with SMG4 or Splatoon. Why not?
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: She was portrayed as quite the goofball in Alex's videos, yet manages to outdo the legendary One-Shot Wren.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: How many people wanted to see how her battle with One-Shot Wren went down?
  • Small Role, Big Impact: She only appeared in two very brief scenes, didn't talk, and was barely even animated. These two scenes end up influencing the events of "Western Spaghetti" in a major way.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Her victory over One-Shot Wren sends him on a downward spiral, which would lead to his homelessness, his kidnapping of the SMG4 Gang, and his death.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's impossible to talk about her without revealing her victory over One-Shot Wren... and how it affected him. If you want to avoid those spoilers when talking about her, you're better off watching more Alex Spider.

    Inkling Child (UNMARKED SPOILERS)

Inkling Child

Voiced by: Elsie Lovelock
First appearance: SMG4 Movie: WESTERN SPAGHETTI (2023)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gfnwyhjbiaaprda.jpg
An Inkling child Meggy coaches.
  • Cheerful Child: From what little we've seen of her, we can tell she's a spirited girl.
  • No Name Given: We don't know her name.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Not as much as Inkura, but her brief appearance at the end of "Western Spaghetti" was meant to indicate that Meggy has grown from what Wren put her through stronger than ever as a sports coach.
  • Suddenly Speaking: She's the second Inkling to be shown to speaking fully-voiced in a reverb, the first being One-Shot Wren in the same movie.

Five Nights at Freddy's

    The Animatronics

The Animatronics

First appearance: "Freddy's Spaghetteria" (2014)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2014-11-09_at_11_57_50_am_6694.png
From left to right: Bonnie, Freddy, and Chica.note
The five living animatronics from Five Nights at Freddy's that Mario winds up with in one of his pursuits for spaghetti. Later joined by the rest of the cast.
  • Abandoned Catchphrase: Toy Chica and Glamrock Chica are the only incarnations of Chica that play at least one role to not say "pizza" in the "How to make FNAF not scary" voice.
  • Arch-Enemy: Whenever Mario's in an FNAF video (excluding Ultimate Custom Night) expect Mario to decimate them by the end.
  • Arc Words: "GET IN MAH BELLY!" is a commonly said term when they feature in a video. Freddy said to a piece of pizza in the first video, Toy Freddy said it to Mario in the second, Springtrap shouted it at Mario and Luigi in the third, and Circus Baby said it before attempting to consume Mario in the UCN. Glamrock Chica continues the tradition in Security Breach.
  • Art Evolution: For a long while, the animatronics mostly kept a blank expression when they showed up, with some exceptions (Mostly Chica). (Just look at their image here) When Freddy and the gang return in "Mario Plays Five Nights At Freddy's", they're a lot more expressive, looking more like early SFM FNAF animations than just modded avatars blankly staring. Mario even curb-stomps them like he did when he first met them, and it's a lot more actionized compared to when he just shot them or blew them up before.
  • Ax-Crazy: Don't let them catch you cheating. Or interrupting their performance, or criticizing them, or...
  • Attempted Rape: Freddy attempts this on Mario in the first hour once Mario traps himself in a storage closet in search for spaghetti. Mario then chucks a nearby Chica head at Freddy, then bails for the door. Bonnie is later shown chasing Justin Bieber down a hallway. Bonnie tries this again in Freddy's Ultimate Custom Spaghetteria, this time to Mario.
  • Belly Mouth: Parodied in one scene where an open jaw is placed on Chica's stomach and Chica pretends to feed it pizza.
  • Berserk Button: They'll go crazy if they catch you "cheating", such as using an Amp to recharge the power of the office.
    • Mangle gets mad when her singing isn't complimented, even though it's absolutely awful.
    • Do NOT interrupt them during their downtime, or whilst they're watching a performance. Every single animatronic bumrushed Mario after he knocked over Rockstar Freddy during his performance, and only the 6:00AM chime saved him.
  • Big Bads: The main four of Freddy's Spaghetteria, however they become...
    • The Heavies:...in Return to Freddy's Spaghetteria, Revenge of Freddy's Spaghetteria and Freddy's Ultimate Custom Spaghetteria.
  • Big Eater: The entire cast, especially Chica, are crazy over pizza. It even escalates to the point that they'll all fight over a single slice.
  • Black Comedy Rape: On one hand, Bonnie attempted this on Mario, demanding that the plumber seduce him. On the other hand, Freddy got the recieving end of this, with a crazed fangirl biting his junk.
  • Body Horror: The Glamrock animatronics get severely damaged throughout the night.
  • Bowdlerise: According to Word of God, the four main animatronics are not out to kill Mario, but are trying to force him to order pizza instead of spaghetti.
    • The majority of the animatronics Mario (and Luigi) encounter are all noticeably less horrifying then their game of origin, and they won't try to attack Mario every time he's right there in the open. The only ones to still retain their original scare factors are Golden Freddy, Springtrap (in the third video) and the Funtime Animatronics.
  • Character Catchphrase: Many throughout the videos they show up in with the most famous being Chica's "PIZZA!".
  • Chick Magnet: Freddy's a real lady's man. He has to fight the crazed fangirls off with a stick.
  • Dragon-in-Chief: Golden Freddy to Freddy in Freddy's Spaghetteria.
  • The Dreaded: No, not them. Whenever Mario's seriously pissed at the animatronics, expect him to fill the role.
  • Dreadful Musician: Mangle's singing is so bad, everything gets set on fire. The Rockstar Animatronics count as well, though the other animatronics seem to enjoy their music.
  • Enemy Mine: In order to take down the Toy Animatronics, Mario enlists their help.
  • Jump Scare: Golden Freddy scares Mario when the latter reaches the spaghetti the former offered, but with a close-up of Toad rather than his actual face. The game then crashes and switches to a dream about SMG4's version of the Bite of '87.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Golden Freddy in the first Spaghettiria. He's just as serious and silent as his official self — simply arriving, Mind Raping the guard (Mario), then leaving. He's also the only one absent during Mario's eventual Roaring Rampage of Revenge, thus avoiding any Rule of Funny comeuppance. Springtrap also lacks as many funny moments as the other animatronics, and even turns Mario into an animatronic (though it's downplayed in Custom). In Custom the role of this goes to Circus Baby, who almost captures Mario before he escapes with the aid of Trash and the Gang.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: When Mario accidentally ruins the performance near the end of Custom, this line gets delivered from a surprising choice of character.
Chica: YA DEAD, SON! YOU MOTHERF**KIN DEAD, SON!
  • Shout-Out: Most of their lines come from other material from the internet, such as "How to Make Five Nights at Freddy's Not Scary".
  • Small Role, Big Impact: If it weren't for Golden Freddy, Shroomy wouldn't be who he is now.
  • Swapped Roles: In comparison to usual Five Nights at Freddy's fare, Chica winds up angering Mario so much that she and Freddy are left running for their lives. Soon enough, Freddy finds himself hiding in the Office while Mario kills Chica in the left hallway, leading to Freddy checking the security cameras and handling the doors much like the Player in Five Nights. He gets Jump Scared by Mario with a wide-opened jaw and responds by shutting the doors with Mario hanging right outside, but then the power goes out, and Mario comes in for the kill.
    • And again in Mario Plays Five Nights at Freddy's, after suffering a particularly cruel Kaizo Trap death, Mario uses Tari's Meta Runner arm to enter the game demolish the animatronics. It ends with Freddy holded up in the security office as the power dwindles to nothing.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: They all have a thing for pizza, especially Chica.

    Glamrock Freddy

Glamrock Freddy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4c028a45_a330_4988_a199_242b54313654.png
The first true ally animatronic in the series introduced in Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. Here, he's an ally of Mario instead of Gregory.
  • Adaptational Badass: He can see Vanny without needing Roxy's eyes.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: In the original game, he doesn't like the thought of his friends being harmed and is horrified when learning Gregory stole parts from the other animatronics. Here, he has no problem shattering them himself to protect Mario and manages to get the Blob to eat Vanny.
  • All Men Are Perverts: He wants Roxy's OnlyFans password.
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: When Mario repairs him. It doesn't stick.

    William Afton

William "The Purple Man" Afton

First appearance: 'Ssenmodnar 10' (Early-Bird Cameo), 'Return to Freddy's Spaghettiria' (proper debut) (2015)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/williamafton.PNG
The Big Bad of the Five Nights at Freddy's series and the bloopers Return to Freddy's Spaghettiria and Revenge of Freddy's Spaghettria.

    Vanessa/Vanny
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ecf22dba_5d63_4f42_a93f_f516fb0b333b.png
"Freddy! You're supposed to be on lockdown!"
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4d3be219_d21d_4e5b_b15d_9907da77ec60.png
A security guard with a dark secret who hunts down Mario through the pizzaplex.
  • Adaptational Villainy: There's no indication that she's Brainwashed and Crazy here, implying that she's hunting down children and Mario of her own free will. Likely justified due to the fact that SMG4's William Afton still being alive (somehow) and thus never becoming Glitchtrap to begin with.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: Vanny/Vanessa can die in quite a few ways in the original game, torn apart by robots, thrown off a building, possibly killed in the fire. But getting eaten by the Blob ain't one of them.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Her wave goodbye to Mario when he retreats to the vents is about as menacing as it was in the OG game.
  • Fed to the Beast: Attempts this on Mario, by feeding him to the Blob. However...
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: She gets eaten by the Blob after Glamrock Freddy and Mario tame it with music.
  • Jack the Ripoff: She seems to be trying to pick up where Afton left off, if Glamrock Freddy's talk of missing children is to be believed.
  • Offscreen Villainy: She's implied to have kidnapped and killed children before Mario shows up.
  • Unexplained Recovery: She shows up no worse for wear in "Five Nights At Freddy Games Be Like..." after getting vored by the Blob.

Harry Potter

    Albus Dumbledore

Albus Dumbledore

First appearance: 'Spells n' Wiztards' (2014)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_147.png
The head teacher at Hobowarts Academy.

    Rubeus Hagrid

Rubeus Hagrid

First appearance: 'Spells n' Wiztards' (2014)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_148.png
"You're a wizard!"
A bearded man who invites SMG4 to Hobowarts Academy.
  • Big Bad: In "Bendy and the Spaghetti Machine".
  • Composite Character: He takes the role of Sammy Lawrence in Bendy and the Spaghetti Machine.
  • Fake Shemp: Has (of all characters) Princess Peach's voice in "The Wacky Wario bros: Money Mayhem".
  • Mistaken Identity: In his first appearance, Toad mistakes him for Santa Claus and attacks him for not giving him his Christmas present last year.
  • Running Gag: He constantly tells everyone that they're wizards.

The Legend of Zelda

    Link
First appearance: 'Chinese Elves and Gay Cashiers' (2012)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ddd689d9_db49_41a0_9579_57b8c914554a.png
The hero of Hyrule...stuck with Mario on his journey.
  • A Day in the Limelight: In If Mario Was In...Ocarina of Time, he reluctantly takes Mario on his journey with him.
  • Butt-Monkey: If he gets focus, chances are he's gonna suffer.
  • Depending on the Artist: He alternates between more mature versions and Young Link.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Luigi mistakens his Breath of the Wild look for a girl. Link responds by shoving a bomb in Luigi's mouth.
  • Spectacular Spinning: Subverted. He rushes at Mario swinging his sword around, soaring through the air...then just takes off far away like a helicopter.
  • Idiot Hero: Not as much as Mario, but he has his moments. Specifically throwing one of the stones he needs to get the Master Sword at Mario, who eats it.
  • Jaw Drop: His and Navi's reactions to Mario stealing the Master Sword.
  • Large Ham: You ever heard Link's battlecries? SMG4 certainly has.
  • Refuge in Audacity: What does he do when a giant Beeg SMG4 threatens to crash down on the world? Rides up on a horse into the sky with a sword. It doesn't work, but he gets into space with that method.
  • The Speechless: Unless he uses other people's voice-clips, he's about as talkative as his canon counterpart.

    Ganondorf
First appearance: "Can Ganondorf come out to play?" (2016)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/c1d16dd6_a0d9_492e_860d_9d58d7d27da4.png
The vile master of evil who seeks to kidnap princesses for his baby army.
  • Adaptational Dumbass: Ganondorf in canon, a cunning mastermind. Ganondorf in this series, wants to make an army of babies so all will die from their cuteness.
  • A God Am I: "It is I Ganondorf, bitches, and I am the God of the Triforce, and I am here to steal the Princess Zelda, woot woot." Yes, that's an actual line he says.
  • Ass Shove: Mario shoves some dynamite up his ass while he's counting. We never see the aftermath, but it doesn't take a genius to guess what happened.
  • Cold Ham: It comes with the territory of having a text-to-speech voice.
Ganondorf: With my evil baby army, all will die from their cuteness and I will rule the world. Mwahahahahahahaha.

Friday Night Funkin'

    Boyfriend

Boyfriend

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/df71mw6_03e9e378_f527_43ce_972c_b1e26fa40210.png
"Beep bop beep."
A young man Mario meets at the Spaghetti Club, looking to defeat his Girlfriend's father in a beatbox tournament. He enlists Mario's help in this after their meeting ruined his first attempt.
"DAT ASS DO! OOOMPH!"
  • Dark and Troubled Past: As it turns out, he was just a baby when Zero destroyed his universe, only barely being rescued in time.
  • Elopement: His second appearance has him and the Girlfriend living in their own house away from her parents.

    Girlfriend

Girlfriend

The love of Boyfriend's life, the daughter of Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest, and the president of the Spaghetti Fan Club.

Undertale / Deltarune

    Sans
First appearance: 'If Mario was in... Undertale' (2016)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/6796c686_9bcb_427f_828b_6525c1d8e722.png
Click here to see Genocide Sans
"Wood fired pizza...How will pizza get a job now?"
A wisecracking, laid-back skeleton monster. Though he's a massive slacker who's mostly content to laze about and make puns, when he decides to put in effort, the results tend to be rather devastating.
  • Adaptational Badass: We get to see him using his gravity abilities and bone magic outside of the bullet-box abstraction. He also seems to be more resistant to damage than his original self, considering he survives his encounter with Mario and Master Hand despite them landing blows on him.
  • Anti-Hero: He's this compared to his original counterpart. When trying to escape in "Sans' First Day in Smash Bros," he has no problem with letting Mario get dragged into the chaos. He later works for Master Hand "for real," but only so that he could find a Worthy Opponent, who happened to be Steve.
  • Beam Spam: Sans can summon "Gaster Blasters", caprine skulls that fire laser blasts.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Capable of taking on cosmic-level enemies in the SMG4verse. He'd rather just take a depression nap.
  • A Day in the Limelight: He's the central character alongside Mario in "Sans's First Day in Smash Bros."
  • Eye Scream: Played for Laughs. Mario defeats Sans by touching his blue eye, after getting distracted looking at a shocked Flowey.
    Sans: AAAAAAHHHH MEH SEXY EYE!!!!!!!
  • Gravity Master: One of his main means of offense, which he uses on Master Hand to immobilize him.
  • Odd Friendship: He's able to get along with Mario pretty well after his debut episode. It helps that the SMG4 Mario is pretty close to Papyrus personality-wise.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: His left eye turns blue when he puts in effort in his fights, but as Mario reveals in his debut episode, he's easily defeated by poking it out.
  • Willfully Weak: He rarely fights at his full potential. When he does, only an idiot would stand in his way.
  • Worthy Opponent: Steve is this to him, enough to call a truce with him.

    Papyrus
First appearance: 'Ssenmodnar 0' (2015)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/df6kwoy_2ef80c44_8eb6_4c69_a9b9_4b1b56dffb67.png
"SANS, SHUT THE FU-"
A tryhard, spaghetti making skeleton monster. He captured Mario so that he could take his SOUL, but ended up falling in love with him.
  • Adaptational Skill: He can actually make good spaghetti. In the original game, Papyrus' spaghetti tastes awful.
  • Cutting the Knot: He knows the only other way out besides breaking the barrier: standing on Lesser Dog's head beneath the hole Mario fell in at the beginning and pounding on it until they get out.
  • The Ditz: Falls for Sans' lie that the "skeleton dance" hypnotizes humans. He later asks Alphys to summon a giant dancing robot Papyrus, believing it will save Mario from the police. The latter actually works, but only because Mario got so agitated by the music he destroyed the entire town.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: He appeared in a single skit in "SM64: ṩṩἔᾗмὄḋᾗᾄʀ 0 - Release the Retardness!" before his first major appearance in "If Mario was in... Undertale". That said, that skit may have taken place after "If Mario was in... Undertale".
  • Heel–Face Turn: Ends up falling in love with Mario after discovering the human was a spaghetti lover and helps him escape from the police.
  • Mistaken for Romance: After Mario attacks Papyrus out of excitement over getting spaghetti, Papyrus claims to understand: he got the fact that Mario is a spaghetti lover correct, but he took that as a sign of "true love."
  • Near-Villain Victory: He captured Mario and would've killed him for his SOUL if he hadn't decided to feed Mario beforehand, leading him to fall in love with the plumber.

    Susie
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2022_02_15_161843.jpg
Well...he's useful as bait at least.
First appearance: "If Mario was in... Deltarune" (2018)
A bully in a town Mario crashes into, and falls down a dark hole to another kingdom.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: She doesn't undergo the same arc she does in the original game, on account of Kris being replaced with Mario.
  • Brick Joke: Mario confuses her for Barney the Dinosaur. Guess who Jevil turns her into.
  • Forced Transformation: Jevil turns her into Barney. She isn't pleased.
"What have you done to me!?"
  • Get Out!: Her way of saying goodbye to Mario is to tell him "If I ever see you again, your face is coming off."
  • Jerkass to One: She's not nice to anyone, but Mario manages to draw her ire the most.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: Her go-to strategy against Jevil is to run at him with an axe and yell "FOR THE MOTHERLAND!" It works about as well as you can expect.

    Ralsei
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2022_02_15_161904.jpg
First appearance: "If Mario was in... Deltarune" (2018)
The dark prince who wants to save the day with the power of friendship. Too bad his teammates are Mario and Susie.

Are you prepared for...my game?
First appearance: "If Mario was in... Deltarune" (2018)
The free prisoner below the castle. He can do anything.

    The Villager

The Villager

First appearance: 'Can the Villager come out to play?' (2015)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/villager_wiki_render_2021.png
The Villager who hails from Animal Crossing, but beware. He is nothing like his game counterpart.

    Isabelle

Isabelle

First appearance: "The Mario Convention!" (2018)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1740cedc_9148_437d_8cc5_43c9967d62e8.png
Get in, loser, we're going on a KILLING SPREE.
A dog secretary whose job is to help manage villages, but she also has a hobby of demon hunting and is a good friend of Doomguy.
  • Cute Bruiser: She hunts demons and is adorable.
  • Nice Girl: She's fairly polite to everyone. Hell, when Doomguy is being a prick to Shroomy, she doesn't take sides and just urges everyone to calm down, to no avail.
  • Replacement Goldfish: She became Doomguy's new favorite after Shroomy became a boy scout. His wife and daughters were not pleased.

Sonic the Hedgehog

    Miles "Tails" Prower
First appearance: 'Eggventure' (2014)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/71316c28_4d05_42f8_a826_652ae80d168b.jpeg
I have brain damage.
A twin tailed fox who is overly obsessed with his hero: Sonic.
  • Characterization Marches On: In Sonic the Derphog his entire character was just yelling "Notice me, Senpai!" With the parody of Sonic Movie 2 showing him to be a bit smarter.
  • Depending on the Writer: In "If Mario was in... Sonic Movie 2", Tails isn't crazy for Sonic nor is he brain damaged.
  • Character Catchphrase: "NOTICE ME SENPAI!!! PLEASE NOTICE ME!!!"*
  • Loony Fan: He's absolutelly obsessed with his "senpai." This was oddly done away with in "If Mario was in... Sonic Movie 2".
  • Running Gag: See Loony Fan above.

    Knuckles the Echidna
First appearance: 'Eggventure' (2014)

Disney

    Mickey Mouse

Mickey Mouse

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stupid_micky_mouse_render_by_ricogamerboi_dfhavyh_fullview_1.png
"I'm slowly dying on the inside."
First appearance: "Mario goes to DIDNEY WORL" (2017)
Walt Disney Studios' mascot, but in Didney Worl, he serves a security guard. A very angry security guard.
  • Adaptational Job Change: Official depictions of Mickey in Disneyland or Disney World have him as a meet-and-greet actor or even the guy running the park. This version is a security guard instead.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: Mickey is usually depicted as a Nice Guy, but this version is a security guard with serious anger issues.
  • Ambiguous Robots: It's tough to tell given this series, but he's introduced with mechanical sounds playing as he rises into view. If that doesn't persuade you, he's depicted as abnormally large compared to how Goofy and Donald are scaled here. He showed up in a few skits in his modern appearance, and he was normal-sized there, but whenever he shows up with his older look, he's enourmous. Also, whenever he shows up as a security guard, he's always in his classic look.
  • Ax-Crazy: He spends most of his screentime being absolutely mental, tossing Boopkins at the trio, threatening them with a knife, and driving a tank through a crowded bumper-cars ride.
    "Bumper cars BITCH!"
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Or rather, "The Emotionally Unstable Security Guard and His Boss Win". In the end, they do get Mario and the crew to pay them back for breaking into their park.
  • Berserk Button: Breaking into the park without tickets will earn you a whole lot of violent threats from this guy.
  • Black Comedy Rape: He threatens Mario, SMG4, and Toad with rape twice, for breaking into the park without paying.
  • Call-Back: He chases SMG1 and SMG2 out of a studio in a similar manner he chased out their lord and savior.
  • Depending on the Artist: He bounces between his older look with a model lifted from Epic Mickey and his modern, flesh-colored face. "If Mario Was In...Disney" takes it a step further and shows him in both his modern look and his King Mickey attire.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Mickey Mouse is usually a cheery guy, this version...not so much.
  • Hero Antagonist: As crazy as he is, he's doing his job to stop people who try to get into the park without paying.
  • Nightmare Face: "Hey everybody! Say, you wanna come inside my CLUBHOUSE?....Well I asked you a f-cking question, aren't ya gonna respond, dumbass?"
  • Took a Level in Kindness: He's still unstable as all hell, but "If Mario Was In...Disney" shows him to be a little nicer, welcoming Mario to his clubhouse, showing horror at Goofy's descent into evil, and encouraging Mickey to believe in the light.
  • We Used to Be Friends: He's heartbroken to see Goofy give in to his murderous urges and become a Heartless. Don't ask.
  • With Friends Like These...: He tosses Goofy at Mario and company with such force that Goofy wonders how he's still alive. On the other hand, Mickey catches Goofy with his girlfriend Minnie.
  • Would Hurt a Child: In a blind rage, he tosses Boopkins at the trio while swearing up a storm.
  • Your Size May Vary: When he appears with his Epic Mickey model, he towers over almost everyone. When he shows up in his modern look, he's depicted at his more natural size, closer to Mario's height.

    Sora

Sora

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/34a40a66_d06a_4f3f_8423_f306957d6c4f.png
First appearance: "The Ultimate Smash Bros." (2017)
The protagonist of Kingdom Hearts, and a reccurring character in Mario's reaction videos.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: He takes the opportunity to taunt Waluigi, seeing as unlike him, Sora got into Smash. Not even getting a beatdown makes him change his mind. Then again, considering Waluigi's behaviour before.
    • He also pulls a gun on Mario in his first appearance.
  • Adaptational Job Change: "If Mario Was In...Disney" shows he has a job as a locksmith, for obvious reasons.
  • Adaptational Wimp: He dies from tripping over a rock, and judging by what happens to him later, he can't fly either.
  • Ambiguously Human: What pushes him into this is the fact that other Kingdom Hearts characters showed up in this series before him, but Kairi and Axel appeared as Anime Replicas summoned by Axel. That said, Kairi also showed up as YouTube's secretary, Solid Snake's daughter, and a Pokemon Trainer, and Lexion has cameo'd as well, so it's tough to tell what they, and by proxy, Sora is supposed to be here. It gets more confusing when you remember Sora is actually from a completely different world than Kairi, Axel, and Lexion in their games.
  • Artistic License: Based on the rules of Kingdom Hearts, Mario shouldn't be able to use Sora's Keyblade, but then again, Mario shouldn't be able to copy enemies like Kirby or wield the Master Sword.
  • Defiant to the End: Even when Waluigi unleashes his wrath upon him, Sora doesn't stop mocking him.
  • Flipping the Bird: Does a particularly cheeky one to Waluigi, showing him the Smash invitation he got.
  • Iron Butt Monkey: He got a Groin Attack from Waluigi and got pummeled by Mario for his Keyblade, yet shows up in later videos no worse for wear.
  • Recurring Extra: He shows up quite a bit in Mario's reaction and let's play videos. Mario even steals his Keyblade to cheat at "Super Mario 64". He also cameo'd in "Mario Waits For the Bus" and the "Revelations" movie, and kicks off the plot of "If Mario Was In...Disney".
  • Unexplained Recovery: He dies from tripping over a rock, then shows up again later.

Others

    Master Hand

Master Hand

First appearance: 'Flashbacks' (2011)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/master_hand_wiki_render_2021_3.png
The Master of Ceremonies of the Super Smash Bros. universe, Master Hand shows up every now and then within the world of SMG4's bloopers to cause everyone to fight each other.
  • Asshole Victim: His brainwashing by Waluigi is shown to be extremely horrific and painful. That being said, you can't say that he doesn't deserve some of it since most of his screen time shows him to be thoroughly abusive to his workers, as well as using his powers for sadistic purposes. The joy he seems to take in rejecting Waluigi from being playable in Smash Bros. during "Waluigi's Time" (the ultimate cause of Waluigi's Start of Darkness, mind you) also doesn't help.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Master Hand's specialty is brainwashing others into fighting each other.
    • He himself has become this under Waluigi's control in "The Mario Convention".
  • Fake Shemp: Most of his sound effects come from the Headless Horseless Headmann and not his own game. This is most likely because of what little voice clips from his source games there are to work with.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Serves as this in the Waluigi Arc, as him rejecting Waluigi from Smash would lead to the latter starting the T-Pose Virus.
  • Handicapped Badass: No pun intended. Master Hand is confined to a wheelchair in The New Smash Bros, so he fills it with weapons to "keep it fair".
  • Hoist by His Own Petard:
    • He berates Ganondorf for not finishing Mario off - Ganondorf's Final Smash is what defeats him.
    • He rejected Waluigi from Smash Bros, unlocking Waluigi's power and becoming a victim of said power twice.
  • Jerkass Gods: Pretty godly in terms of power, and certainly not a nice fellow.
  • Kick the Dog: Flat out stubbornly refuses to let Waluigi be a player in Super Smash Bros. no matter what, because the latter unforunately possesses no actual unique abilities worth that position, and Master Hand makes sure to rub this in his face. Even after Waluigi does discover a power unique to him, the Power of Rejection, which impresses Hand and finally accepts him, Waluigi ends up losing his power because of that acceptance, to which Master Hand cruelly once again refuses with a Blunt "No". It's telling because it's what makes Waluigi snap.
  • Laughing Mad: Most of his dialogue is accompanied by the Horseless Headless Horsemann's laughter.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: Enjoys pitting characters against each other regardless of morality.
  • Reality Warper: Among other things, he can Mass Teleport people.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Pretty much responsible for the Waluigi Arc. His constant rejections of Waluigi being in Smash Bros. lead the man to discover The Power of Rejection. This then leads to Waluigi being rejected again, causing him to unleash a zombie plague-like virus in the very next episode (that even infects Master Hand). Oh, and unleash the apocalypse as well, brainwashing Hand in the process. Good job.
  • White Gloves: He's a disembodied white-gloved hand.
  • The Worf Effect: At least twice.
    • Waluigi during his arc utterly trounces Master Hand and manages to enslave him.
    • Sans manages to survive everything Master Hand throws at him, taunts him constantly, and then completely eviscerates the oversized glove with his Gravity Master abilities and bone attacks.

    Kirby

Kirby

First appearance: 'The Mystery of the Chest' (2011)
Voiced by: Makiko Ohmoto (voice clips), Hayley Nelson (Lawsuit Arc)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/76205cd6_cf24_4480_b537_5eaa6e80d8b3.png
GET IN MAH BELLY!
The main character of his namesake series. In the SMG4 universe, though, he can cause problems for other people. He gains a small role in "The Wacky Wario bros.: the Winning Ticket." and "Shoot to the Observatory in the sky" and acts as a Deuteragonist in "Kirby Phones Home" and "If Mario Was In... Kirby Star Allies".
  • Accidental Hero: He ends up saving everyone on the Comet Observatory from a black hole by swallowing a wormhole generator under the assumption that it's a lollipop, causing him to vomit a beam that propells the entire observatory towards Earth.
  • Ascended Extra: While simply a Bit Character for most of the series, he plays a key role in the Lawsuit Arc by being the judge who passes the DMCA.
  • Ax-Crazy: Not the craziest character by far, but he does chase down and shoots King Dedede in "Mario Battle Royale".
  • Big Eater: Well, it is Kirby.
  • The Bus Came Back: Returned in "If Mario Was In... Kirby Star Allies" after a long absence.
  • The Dreaded: One look at him dancing in WOTFI 2019 and SMG4 is freaking out.
  • Eats Babies: Poor Ness. Poor Lucas. Poor Toon Link.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Building on the above, he eats not only real food but parts of buildings and people too.
  • Farts on Fire: "POOP MODE" which turns Kirby into a rocket engine.
  • Judicial Wig: Wears a long and white wig in the Lawsuit Arc, due to taking the role of a judge.
  • Kill the Cutie: Mario shoots him after seeing a horrific face he made in an old commercial. He shows up just fine later in the video.
  • Food-O-Vision: Imagines Waluigi's rubber duck and Rosalina's portal generator as a plate of fried chicken and a lollipop, respectively.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: He annoys the Wario Bros. a lot by inhaling Waluigi's rubber ducky and Wario's lottery ticket, and he even bazookas and crash lands the Comet Observatory on Earth just by swallowing a wormhole generator.
  • Power Copying: A trait he retained from his canon version, absorbing Toad's obnoxiousness and Mario's fatness and love of spaghetti before spitting them out.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Even though he's a Nintendo character, he has no bias toward Lawyer Kong, and gives SMG4 a fair trial when presented with the Parody Contract.
  • Suddenly Voiced: For the first time in the series, the Lawsuit Arc gives him full voice acting to go with his expanded role.

Crazy Raisin Lady

A crazy old woman obsessed with raisins. She appears in the Guards N' Retards series as well as "The Wacky Wario bros.: the Winning Ticket." as a GoldenEye (1997) model and in the main SMG4 series as a Pokémon sprite. See this page for her presence in the Guards 'n Retards series.

    Slenderman

Slenderman

First appearance: 'My Best Friend Slenderman' (2012)

    Woody

Woody

Voiced by: Tom Hanks
First appearance: 'Spells n' Wiztards' (2014)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/9c651525_7eae_47c2_afcb_d2459b13e94d.jpeg
One of the main characters of the Toy Story series, who continually makes recurring appearances throughout the series.
  • Adaptational Villainy: He's often depicted as an outright psychopath, in stark contrast to his home series, where he is an undisputed hero.
  • Ass Shove: He's been on both ends:
    • In "Mario vs Wild", after managing to beat the Sniper in a fight, he bends him over, tells him to "reach for the stars" and shoves his fingers in.
    • After threatening Meggy in "Wild, Wild Mario", he finds himself on the receiving end of one courtesy of Mario and a ketchup bottle.
  • Creepy Doll: It's Woody as a psychotic molester. "If Mario Was In Poppy Playtime" seems to amplify this by implying he was created by the same company that made Huggy Wuggy.
  • Fake Shemp: He often speaks through recycled clips from Toy Story.
  • Living Toys: He was brought to life by Mario in "Spells n' Wiztards" with magic.
  • Perpetual Smiler: He typically sports a vacant smile, but will on occasion show a bigger, creepier smile. The only exception was a fan-made entry in a Milestone Celebration.
  • Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: His main form of attack is to make his enemies "Reach for the sky!"
  • The Voiceless: Averted as a T-pose zombie. He's the only one who can still talk as one.
  • Your Size May Vary: He's the size of an average adult human since Garry's Mod lacks a model of his actual size.

    Kermit the Frog

First appearance: 'How to Get dem Coins' (2016)

"See this finger I'm holding up? It's the middle one. Guess where it's going."

    Baldi

Baldi

First appearance: "If Mario was in... Baldi's Basics" (2018)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/baldi_wiki_render_2021.png
I can't believe it, you're f-cked! You're just f-cked!
A math teacher who is very good at his job. Or so it seems. Tends to chase after people with a ruler if they get one of his problems wrong.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: Revealed in Wotfi 2018. Before his debut, he had hair, at least when he got a haircut from Bob. Crosses with Noodle Incident but the results were the reason of his namesake.
  • Adaptational Heroism: In his source material, Baldi hunts the player after a single mistake. In his debut episode, he doesn't start chasing with intent to spank until Mario gets Baldi's third question wrong (though he does knock Mario around for the first two), and he stops his assault when Mario gets a math problem right.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: He actually "beats" Mario by forcing him to learn math.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Incorrect answers to math problems.
    • Also, don't punch him across the face unless you want to piss him off even more.
Baldi: I'm gonna give you five across the ass!
(Gets punched by Mario who is laughing, not aware of what he has just brought upon himself)
Baldi: You fucking son of a bitch. YOU'RE GETTING SEVEN ACROSS THE ASS!
  • Corporal Punishment: Anger him by answering math problems incorrectly? Baldi will chase you to the ends of the earth with a ruler in hand, ready to spank you silly.
  • Evil Teacher: Similar to his origin.
  • Mighty Glacier: He can't move fast at all, though when sufficiently angered he becomes a Lightning Bruiser.
  • Noodle Incident: See Adaptational Backstory Change above.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Thinks very highly of himself.
  • Stylistic Suck: As with his home game, Baldi has an intentionally crude design.
  • Super-Senses: Baldi has incredible hearing abilities, which he uses to chase after Mario. Unfortunately for him, he can't tell whether the sound is pre-recorded or not.
  • Super-Speed: "Quick Maths!"
  • Sympathy for the Hero: During Wotfi of 2018, Baldi warns Mario and SMG4 that Bob's haircuts end in disaster.
Bob: Nonsense I can do better I gave haircuts to people such as Baldi.
    Baldi: Ya f@cked.
(followed by Mario screaming in fear)
  • Unstoppable Rage: Whenever someone gets a question wrong, he goes into this and chases them.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: He can be pushed back by soda of all things. It's also easy to fool him with a voice recorder.

    The Anime Replicas

The Anime Replicas

First appearance: "The Japan Trip" (2019)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_264.png
Miku Hatsune and Pikachu, among others
Living replicas of anime and video game characters created by Axol's paintbrush, ranging from Dragon Ball to Godzilla to Pokémon. They aren't the brightest individuals with Axol's ink weaver at 5% ink, but a little help from an Inkling or two can make them smart. Just make sure you don't put the weaver in the wrong hands...
  • Battle Aura: Depends on the power of Ink Weaver and the type of ink. With Axol's normal ink, the Anime Replicas have no aura. Powered up with Meggy's ink, there's an orangish-yellow glow surrounding the Replicas. Adding on more power turns the aura into more vivid colors, complete with an electrical aura surrounding them.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Ultra Instinct Shaggy. Once Axol regains control of Ink Weaver, Shaggy wastes no time taking down Super Saiyan God Goku, reclaiming Desti's body, and getting everyone else out of the island safe and sound.
  • Co-Dragons: The false Pikachu, Mewtwo, Miku Hatsune, and Goku seem to be the closest and strongest supporters to Francis, while the false Sephiroth seems to be the main Dragon given that he's the one who ultimately kills Desti.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: The false Sephiroth, according to Mario.
  • Fake Shemp: All of the replicas use random quips, none of which are their proper voices except for one instance where Godzilla gives Mario and his gang his trademark roar.
  • Final Boss: The final enemy of the Anime Arc is Super Saiyan God Goku.
  • Flawed Prototype: The lower the quality of the ink used, the dumber they are and the shorter they last. Charge the Inkweaver to 100% with inkling ink and they're completely devoid of these flaws.
  • Foil: To the T-Pose Zombies from the Waluigi Arc. It's easy to think they're Suspiciously Similar Substitutes, since they're both Mooks for the Arc Villain, but there are quite a few differences that make them stand out. The biggest one is their intelligence. Zombies are mindless creatures, but these guys needed to be powered up with ink to receive intelligence and last long. They're also more vulnerable than the practically invincible T-Pose Zombies.
  • Grew Beyond Their Programming: In an alternate timeline seen in "WHAT IF...?", Sephiroth ended up growing sentient enough to act independently of the Inkweaver's control, and went on to kill Meggy on his own.
  • The Heavy: They do a lot of Francis' dirty work, since Francis is not very effective in combat on his own.
  • Hero Killer: Sephiroth became this when he impales Desti from behind with his sword. Desti died from the attack and her funeral is held after the events on Anime Island.
  • King Mook:
    • The false Godzilla. So much so that after snatching Desti, he comes back in the next episode for a rematch.
    • Super Saiyan God Goku is pretty much the apex of what Francis can create with the Ink Weaver. Then Ultra Instinct Shaggy comes into the picture...
  • Knight of Cerebus: The false Sephiroth. His murder of Desti immediately darkens the episode he's in, leaving it on a cliffhanger.
  • Mooks: To Axol. Later to Francis.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: They follow the person who brings them to life... no matter who they are. With Axol, they act more as bouncers to his abode, and with Francis, they're abductors with some of their original powers unlocked.
  • No-Sell:
    • The false Godzilla, true to his origin, is very resilient to attacks and requires another kaiju-sized creature to give it a more even fight.
    • Likewise, Super Saiyan God Goku shrugs off just about everything the gang has to throw at him (only being distracted momentarily by Tari), triggering the Godzilla Threshold.
  • Physical God: The only proper way to describe Ultra Instinct Shaggy, given the reverence he's referred to with. He's able to easily defeat Super Saiyan God Goku.
  • Put on a Bus: With Axol's death, it's unlikely that they're coming back anytime soon.
  • Starter Villain: The false Ryuk at 50% power, as he's the first of the Francis-led Anime Replicas that Mario and crew fought in Inkopolis. His unsuccessful attempt to kidnap Desti resulted in him dropping a map leading to Anime Island, and unlike the false Goku or Mewtwo, who are capable of utilizing the Kamehameha (and his Super Saiyan/Super Saiyan God form) and psychic abilities respectively, he has none of his Death God powers and served more as a demonstration of the Replica's strength in the field.
  • Taking You with Me: Super Saiyan God Goku self-destructs ala Cell when Ultra Instinct Shaggy utterly trounces him in a fight. He fails to take anyone but Francis with him.
  • Talking Animal: Replicas created with the Ink Weaver including Pokémon and Godzilla are perfectly capable of speaking proper English when all they could initially do is Pokémon Speak or animalistic roars.
  • The Voiceless: SMG4 will occasionally use phrases from the replicas' respective sources, or some other audio source, but none of them have proper dialogue. The only exception is the Col. Sanders Replica in "Mario Works at McDonald's", where, in addition to using JoJo voice clips and a clip of a guy saying "Nico Nico Ni!", there was some text dialogue accompanying the former before he kicks Ronald McDonald in the groin.

    Greg the Alien

Greg the Alien

First appearance: "Mario Raids Area 51" (2019)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/greg_the_alien_wiki_render_2021.png
An alien rescued from Area 51 by Mario. Notable for being a Mauve Shirt during the YouTube Arc. He originates from the Pro Skater level of Tony Hawk's Underground 2.
  • Accidental Murder: His fate in the YouTube Arc at the hands of Mario.
  • Amusing Alien: His presence is Played for Laughs until it isn't.
  • Area 51: Where he was trapped until Mario saved him.
  • Bus Crash: After many episodes without his presence, he returns in "Stupid Mario Arcade", only to be accidentally killed by Mario.
  • Character Death: The only casualty of the YouTube Arc, accidentally killed by Mario thanks to Susan forcing him to play Space Invaders, with him being inside one of the ships. "Mario VS YouTube" confirms that Greg was Killed Off for Real.
  • Damsel in Distress: Parodied, as he doesn't do anything, say any lines, or even ever move on his own, making him a glorified object (that Mario even throws as a weapon at some point) that only serves to advance the plot via being kidnapped. Hilariously, Greg is anything BUT a damsel, being an ugly alien thing that Mario's known for all of five minutes.
  • Foil: To Desti. They're both minor characters whose deaths impacted the people closest to them in a major way, leading to the intent on avenging their fallen friends. However, their relationships, professions, and the end results are what makes them different. Desti is an active adversary for Meggy, it took some time for them to become friends, she died a hero trying to save her rival, and after fulfilling her promise to win Splatfest in her honor, said rival was ready to move on to the next chapter in her life. By contrast, Greg prefers to sit around and do nothing, Mario grew attached to him right away, he was killed in a freak accident, and Mario's plan to infiltrate YouTube HQ as revenge on Susan caused more problems than it solved.
  • Go Out with a Smile: Just like Desti.
  • Lazy Bum: Spent most of his time with Mario doing mostly nothing.
  • The Quiet One: He doesn't say much words, and can barely emote at all. Yet his gravestone describes him as "a man of many words".
  • Really Royalty Reveal: "The Resurrection..." reveals that Greg was in fact President of an alien world.
  • The Stoic: Greg doesn't emote at all. Heck, he doesn't move from his position at all and has to be carried. It's subverted in the end when he smiles after Mario rescues him.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Even more so than Desti. He only had a major role in "Mario Raids Area 51", and the rest of his appearances were limited to short cameos of him hanging out with the Mario Bros. We don't even know how he got into Space Invaders, leading to his death.

    Pizza Delivery Spiderman

Pizza Delivery Spiderman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2022_02_20_083853.jpg
With great power, comes great big booty bitches.
First appearance: "Little Penguin Lost" (2019)

An incarnation of Spiderman who does pizza deliveries, based off the pizza time memes.

  • Back for the Dead: Dies when he's accidentally fatally injured by Mario falling on him.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Played With. He arrives at the stranded ice platform that Mario and Meggy were stuck on due to Mario calling him for pizza earlier, then sees the baby penguin and recognizes it as the wanted killer, causing him to call the police. After the penguin is caught, he gives the pizza to Mario and thanks him for allowing them to catch the criminal, but ends up leaving without rescuing them.
  • Undignified Death: The spectacular Spider-Man, killed by a fat man falling on him over pizza.
  • Uniformity Exception: He's identified by the Krusty Krab hat that he always seems to wear.

The leader of the Phantom Thieves, this version of him seems less interested in changing the hearts of the wicked and more interested in using his neutral special, a gun, on people.

A pair of brothers with a tense relationship with one another.

    Matt

Matt

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/matt_render_by_ricogamerboi_dfhavya_fullview.png
An opponent in Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, famous for being extremely difficult. In this series, he's a superhumanly powerful entity that few people survive an encounter with.
  • The Ace: He's superb at sports, and one of the strongest characters in the SMG4 universe. His tennis skills are only briefly matched by Bob and Rob's Combination Attack, only for them to lose because of a conveniently timed corn distraction.
  • Adaptational Badass: The original Matt was the champion of Boxing and Swordplay, but had other sports that he struggled with (most notably Tennis). This version of Matt is a master of every sport (including Tennis), to say nothing of his godlike fighting skill.
  • Broken Ace: He's unbeatably strong and skilled at every sport, but he's also a victim of a neglectful father who's Lonely at the Top.
  • Characterization Marches On: In his first appearance in "War of the Fat Italians 2020", he seems to simply be a really good sports player instead of a Physical God, since Bob and Rob manage to hold their own against him by teaming up until Rob got distracted by corn.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: His flashback in "Stupid Mario Golf" heavily implies that he got his incredible abilities from lots of intense training.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The nicest way to describe the battle with him in "Stupid Mario Golf".
  • The Dreaded: The moment he's summoned in "Stupid Mario Golf", everyone (even Mario) tries to get away as fast as possible. The only one not afraid of him is Bob, who promptly gets his head crushed.
  • Godzilla Threshold: He's summoned in the same way as Exodia, and is only brought in by Jeeves after everything else fails to make them comply with his tournament. Matt ends up turning against Jeeves at the end of the episode, transforming him into plane tickets to Brazil.
  • The Juggernaut: He's stronger than Rejection Waluigi, faster than Sonic the Hedgehog, and near-impossible to even survive against, let alone win.
  • Lonely at the Top: When SMG4 mentions to Matt he just wanted to go to Brazil, it causes the sports god to have a flashback to his childhood, having been denied his dreams of going to Brazil by his father Tommy, and encouraged to play sports, while feeling lonely and unsatisfied, as well as found freaky by others.
  • Physical God: His stat screen in "Stupid Mario Golf" has every stat maxed out, and outright calls him a god.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Tommy (another Mii from Wii Sports) is his father in this universe.
  • Super-Toughness: He takes Bowser's fire breath at point blank range and comes out completely unscathed.
  • Troubled Backstory Flashback: Right when he's about to finish off SMG4, he accidentally reminds Matt of his childhood dream of going to Brazil, which convinces him to let him go.
  • The Worf Effect: He manages to overpower a Rejection-fueled Waluigi with minimal effort.

    Huggy Wuggy

Huggy Wuggy

First appearance: "If Mario Was in... Poppy Playtime" (2021)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/86e243b3_34e0_40d3_b4a1_b1ade5b0c697.jpeg
"Isn't she a beauty? We modeled her after my ex-wife."
The antagonist of the first chapter of Poppy Playtime. He wants to give you a hug...
  • Adaptational Badass: He doesn't die when Mario makes the bridge collapse. Instead, it's revealed that he has incredible jumping skills and jumps right behind Mario.
  • Benevolent Monsters: Turns out to be this when he catches up to Mario.
  • Good All Along: It turns out that it just wanted to be friends with Mario. Mario sure has a thing with befriending horror characters.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: It's soon revealed after Huggy Wuggy finally catches up with Mario that he just wanted to be Mario's friend.
  • Stealth Insult: Cave Johnson, the CEO of Poopytime says Huggy Wuggy was modeled after his ex-wife.
  • Too Kinky to Torture: Smacking him in the face doesn't get the reaction Mario wanted.

    Watchers

Watchers

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/watchers.PNG
First appearance: "Mario Waits For The Bus" (2022)
Voiced by: MediExcalibur2012
Cacodemons who are the guardians of the space-time continuum.
  • Berserk Button: Do not manipulate space and time when they're around.
  • Cyclops: They also love things that have something to do with one eye.
  • Eye Beams: Shoots green lasers out of their eyes.
  • Immortal: You can knock them down, but they'll always get back up to defeat you.
  • Not So Above It All: They love going to the One-Eyed Monster Carnival.
  • Oculothorax: Yup.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: It's pretty clear that they want to prevent time travel from being misused, but their punishment is somewhat disproportionate.

    Shaggy

Shaggy Rogers

First appearance: "Mario and the Anime Challenge" (2019)
The only one capable of killing the wicked Goku. Yes, really.

    Cuphead and Mugman

Cuphead and Mugman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/df71mw2_7e3ad280_17c8_4589_9686_edd764d827b1.png
"Be free!"(Cups break)
Voiced by: Tru Valentino (Cuphead), Frank Todaro (Mugman) (The Cuphead Show!)
First appearance: 'If Mario was in... Cuphead' (2017)
Two brothers that wound up in service to the Devil, much like Mario did.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Possibly. They refused to hand over the soul contracts to the Devil in their game's true ending, but here, they hand them over without a second thought. Despite this, they defeat the Devil and his downfall frees the brothers and Mario from his grasp, so it's possible giving the Devil the contracts might not have mattered in the end.
  • Brain Bleach: They react to Mario's naked body as well as everyone else does.
    Mugman: I want to die.
  • Brain Food: Mario drinks Cuphead's head at one point, to which Cuphead internally screams. note
  • Character Catchphrase: Can a Sr. Pelo gasp be considered a catchphrase? Mugman does it a lot.
  • Furry Reminder: Much like Melony with fruit and Hal Monitor with appliances, Cuphead tries to liberate the cups in the Subway office, even tossing them and saying "Be free!". They break the moment they hit the ground.
  • Fusion Dissonance: Two cups turn into a machine-gun. Yeah.
  • Irony: Cuphead hates run-and-gun games.
  • Oh, Crap!: Mugman has a habit of gasping in horror when something happens.
  • Sadistic Choice: The Devil forces Cuphead into one, either kill Mario, or lose Mugman. Cuphead chooses to just shoot the Devil instead.
  • Taken for Granite: Cuphead gets petrified by Cala Maria/Ariel/Medusa. He gets better.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: The brothers, usually Cuphead, tend to show up and die a lot, usually by breaking. "Mario goes to subway and purchases 1 tuna sub with extra mayo" implies that these are actually duplicates.

    Uncle Doom

Uncle Doom

You are an abomination in the eyes of the lord.
First appearance: "If Mario Was In Animal Crossing" (2020)
Isabelle's friend, and Shroomy's uncle. They haven't exactly seen eye-to-eye.

    Lady Dimitriscu

Lady Dimitriscu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/a7f2ccfa_b68f_492e_a173_39e39ec69096.png
First appearance: "Mario and the Village" (2021)
Shroomy's aunt. In his words, his family makes no sense.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: She and her daughters are a lot friendlier than their original counterparts.
  • Adaptational Species Change: Alcina Dimitriscu in the original game was the Resident Evil take on vampires. RE doesn't do supernatural stuff, so she was mutated by a parasite that made her stronger and inhuman, but needing to drink blood. Her daughters are a similar case. Here, they're more in line with vampires, with some demonic powers to boot.
  • Affably Evil: For a man-eating vampire, she's pretty friendly.
  • Be Yourself: She ultimately does what Doomguy can't and accepts Shroomy for who he is.
  • Dating Catwoman: She was married to Doomguy, a demon-slayer, while she herself is a vampire who can turn people into demons.
  • Daywalking Vampire: She and her daughters can survive in the sunlight.
  • Parents as People: She's still not quite the ideal aunt, given that she basically forces Shroomy to become a demon slayer again so that Doomguy actually starts paying attention to his family. At the end of the day, though, she's still much better than Doomguy, caring much more about their kids and ultimately supporting Shroomy and his desire to become a Boy Scout.
  • Statuesque Stunner: As usual. Mario puts it best, "That's a huge bitch!"

    Newgrounds Survivors

Newgrounds Survivors

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2022_02_05_121233.jpg
Why is there a whole kingdom inside a mountain?
First appearance: "If Mario Was In.... Friday Night Funkin" (2021) (Notably, some appeared in later episodes)
A bunch of Newgrounds characters that live in a mountain in Brazil. Why is another can of worms...

    Mr. Incredible

Mr. Incredible

First appearance: "Uncanny Mr Mario" (2022)
The victim of the "Uncanny Mr. Incredible" memes who wishes for Mario to take his place.

    Oofio

Oofio

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ad5b72eb_19aa_4a51_b295_2d2a5676a2d9.jpeg
Oh, I've been better.
First appearance: "If Mario Was In... ROBLOX" (2022)
A Roblox player who wants to get admin privileges for a sinister reason.
  • Creepy Child: Is implied to be a little kid playing Roblox who tells Mario that they can have unlimited power if they have enough Robux to get admin privileges. Then it's revealed why, he wants revenge on Mario for crushing his girlfriend.
  • Heel–Face Turn: He stops antagonizing Mario when he finds him a new girlfriend.
  • Portmanteau: His name is a combination of "oof" and "Mario".
  • Revenge: He wants to get back at Mario for crushing his girlfriend at the start of the video.
  • Ridiculously Average Guy: He has the appearance of the average "noob" skin.
  • Synthetic Voice Actor: Despite SMG4 jokingly claiming Oofio is voiced by some random kid he found, Oofio's voice comes from the Tails voice from uberduck.ai.
  • The Un-Reveal: We never learn who was playing as this guy. It was very likely a kid. A very unstable kid.

    Phillip

Phillip

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2022_05_15_211113.jpg
First appearance: "The Cursed Tapes" (2022)
A creepy old man who owns a cursed Phillips CD-i console.
  • Good All Along: Mario and Meggy think he's just another creep looking for trouble, but he's actually just trying to get his cursed CD-i back so it stops corrupting Luigi.

    The Minions

The Minions

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/minion_render_by_ricogamerboi_dfhaw0s_fullview_7.png
"He he. Bottom."
First appearance: "Mario Obliterates Minions" (2022)
A horde of yellow pill-shaped creatures who swarm the world. SMG4 considers them cringy and tasks Mario to destroy them all.
  • Ate His Gun: Mario forces the firing end of a rocket launcher into one Minion's mouth and pulls the trigger, killing it.
  • Big Bads: They're the ones who kick off the plot of "Mario Obliterates Minions" as they're the reason why the universe has "too much cringe" according to SMG4.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: On the receiving end of this when Mario dons Thanos's Infinity Gauntlet and wipes the floor with them all alone in mere seconds without breaking a sweat.
  • Face Death with Dignity: They solemnly accept their fate once Mario snaps them into dust.
  • Kill It with Fire: On the receiving end twice.
    • SMG4 tries to use Pyro's flamethrower to stall a horde which barged into his room. Some survive and dogpile him.
    • Mario lures a crowd of them into a movie theatre showing the latest Minion movie, throws a lit match into the room, locks the doors shut and leaves them all to die in the ensuing fire.
  • Last Villain Stand: Four Minions dressed as four members of The Avengers charge in to stop Mario from using the Infinity Gauntlet. They fail spectacularly.
  • Nuke 'em: Mario tricks one Minion into touching a nuke with an artwork of a banana pasted on it. The result is a massive explosion. Mario repeats that explosion for good measure.
  • Reduced to Dust: When Mario finally snaps his fingers to kill them all...a Koopa is wiped out. Mario then quickly changes the target to the Minions and snaps his fingers again, causing every single one of them to crumble to dust. That includes one who was aged into Bart Simpson and all of their related advertisements and merchandise.
  • Self-Disposing Villain: The Minion themed after Thor tries to channel the power of thunder...only to get fried.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Apparently, those creatures are easily fooled by banana-related objects stuck to dangerous items and material linked to their master, Felonious Gru. Mario even used a Gru-related meme to trick the Minions into drinking bleach, which they all do. All of them die as a result.
  • Trigger Phrase: They'll all show up and swarm people whenever someone says "bottom". Mario learns this the hard way while trying to get Thanos's Infinity Gauntlet to wipe them all out.
  • Zerg Rush: At times they go about as a humongous horde, pouncing on anyone. For example, when Mario accidentally says "bottom", they all pounce on him as a massive swarm.

    Simon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_08_06_172043.jpg
*scatting*
A Skibidi Toilet Depresso created by dumping Prime drinks down the castle's toilet for no reason. His creepy appearance belies a kind soul who bonds with Mario like all supernatural creatures he's met beforehand.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Skibidi Toilets are a generally creepy, hostile species who invaded the Earth and whom the heroes must fight. Simon keeps their unsettling appearance, but proves himself to be a kindred and reliable soul ready to pull through for those he cares about, even standing up to his kin for attacking Mario and Luigi.
  • The Unintelligible: He speaks in scats, which only Mario understands, for some reason.
