Characters / Super Smash Bros. - Mii Costumes

Go To

Several Mii Fighter costumes are available to offer a myriad of customization options, many of which represent characters that are or aren't available as full-fledged fighters.

    open/close all folders

    Mii Costumes in general
  • The Cameo: The main reason why the costumes are made, they can bring in characters that wouldn't have made it in as full fighters {largely due to the series' already bloated roster, even with DLC). Thus this is the next best option they can use.
  • Expy Coexistence: Several Miis are based on fighters and assist trophies already present in Smash like Samus, Captain Falcon, and Ashley. Sometimes it works the other way around, where fighters and assist trophies are added after the Mii like Chrom, King K. Rool, and Akira. Rex is an interesting case, being the first Mii Costume to later be upstaged by the actual character in the same game.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Some of the costumes for the Swordfighter and Gunner let them use...unorthodox weapons, such as a paintbrush, flower, sitar, or party popper. All of them are just as effective as the standard weapon.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Some Mii costumes like Sans, Cuphead, and Vault Boy really push to look as close to their source characters as possible, making them this among other Mii costumes.
  • Writing Around Trademarks: Because of the rating system in some regions. Most of the Mii costumes reveals from more mature-rated games such as Assassin's Creed, Fallout, No More Heroes, Skyrim, Devil May Cry, and Doom only listed their respective names rather than the series they came from due to ESRB regulations that prevent advertisement of M-rated games in non M-rated games.note  Other regions, mainly in Europe, do not have to worry about such formalities, which leaves them okay with announcing the games they appeared in, no problem.
