Main Characters

    Koguma
Voiced by: Yuki Yomichi (Japanese), Jackie Lastra (English), Annie Rojas (Latin American Spanish)

A plain girl without parents, relatives, friends, hobbies or plans for her future. That is, until she buys a Honda Super Cub. Then her world begins to change.

  • Deadpan Snarker: Surprisingly, Koguma of all people. After she buys the Super Cub, which supposedly caused the deaths of three of its riders, for the low price of 10,000 yen(roughly $100 US, and less than a tenth of what the other motorbikes cost), the store owner throws in a helmet and gloves for free. Koguma then asks how many people the helmet and gloves killed.
  • Last-Name Basis: Koguma is only known by her surname.
  • Meaningful Name: Koguma's name 小熊 literally means "small bear," and she rides a Super Cub motorbike.
  • Minor Living Alone: Koguma doesn't have any parents or relatives, she receives a stipend for living and has a scholarship to attend school.
  • Parental Abandonment: Koguma's father died when she was young, her mother then wasted much of the inheritance money he left behind, they moved from Tokyo to Mukama, and then her mother ran away in the middle of the night and abandoned her leaving only a slip of paper saying goodbye. All this adds up to why she lives alone in a town she's not familiar with and has no friends.
  • The Quiet One: Koguma is rather quiet early on. Even after meeting Reiko, who does all the talking at first.
  • The Stoic: From the very start. The narrator notes that Koguma doesn't have much of a emotional reaction to anything, even her mother abandoning her.

    Reiko
Voiced by: Ayaka Nanase (Japanese), Dawn M. Bennett (English), Romina Marroquín Payró (Latin American Spanish)

A tall and stylish girl on the same classroom as Koguma, her father is a city councilman while her mother works in a catering business. She's a fan of all Super Cubs, and she has a restored Honda MD90 Super Cub. Later on, she buys a CT110.

  • Cluster F-Bomb: After failing to climb Mt. Fuji on her Super Cub for the umpteenth time, Reiko pounds the ground and yells "Damn it!" repeatedly.
  • First-Name Basis: Unlike Koguma, Reiko is solely addressed by her first name, regardless of how the people speaking with her are.
  • Genki Girl: When it comes to Super Cubs.
  • Minor Living Alone: She lives by herself in a log house in the Mukawa mountain area of Hokuto, and she prefers it that way.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: Reiko isn't shy to appear in front of her friends in just her panties (episode 11) or completely naked (episode 12) after coming out of a bath; much to the shock of Shii and the disgust of Koguma.
  • Situational Sociability: Reiko can be relatively brusque in most situations, as seen in how she barely responds when Koguma greets her in the morning, but becomes a Genki Girl when talking about motorcycles, specially Cubs.

    Shii Eniwa
Voiced by: Natsumi Hioka (Japanese), Skyler Davenport (English), Leslie Gil (Latin American Spanish)

A classmate of Koguma and Reiko, a petite girl slightly shorter than Koguma. She becomes friends with Koguma and Reiko after they helped her during the Cultural Festival. Despite her interest in Cubs, she drives an Alex Moulton bike.

  • First-Name Basis: Shii is always referred like this. Her surname, Eniwa, is only revealed by her caller ID.
  • Foreign Culture Fetish: Shii and her family are all big on different Western cultures. Shii herself loves Italy and dreams to be an Italian Barista.
  • Fun Size: Despite being only slightly younger than Reiko and Koguma, Shii is so short that she can ride in a Cub's front basket.
  • Genki Girl: Shii fits more the girly type.
  • Good Parents: Her parents might be embarrassing, but they love and care about her.
