The Ryan's World animated cast
This is a list of characters from Ryan ToysReview.

In General

  • Adaptational Dumbass/Adaptational Intelligence: On the Gus the Gummy Gator and Ryan's World YouTube channels, Combo and Big Gil are more naive and stupid, while Gus the Gator and Peck the Penguin are a bit wiser and more experienced. The other characters are not significantly flanderized in any way.
  • Aerith and Bob: While most of the characters have more exotic names, a few characters such as Gus the Gator have more common names.
  • Alliterative Name: Gus the Gummy Gator and Peck the Penguin, although the rest of the characters avert this trope.
  • Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: For example, Peck is purple, and Alpha Lexa is pink.
  • Badass Adorable: Most of the heroes (especially Combo, Peck and Alpha), are adorable and all, but are some hardcore gamers.
  • Beauty, Brains, and Brawn:
    • Gil, Peck and Combo respectively. Gil, being chill and laid-back, is the beauty. Peck, being very intelligent and somewhat nerdy, is the brains, while Combo, with his short temper, is the brawn.
  • Big, Thin, Short Trio: Combo, Gil and Peck respectively.
  • Bloodless Carnage: The characters are pretty much unhurt by even fatal effects. One example is when Combo Panda was crushed by a boulder, but survives as a paper-thin version of himself, and pops back to normal.
  • Butt-Monkey: Some of the characters, especially Combo Panda, Peck the Penguin, and definitely the villains, are prone to being this.
  • Catchphrase: Pretty much every main character has one.
  • Color-Coded Characters: Examples include Combo Panda's color being red and Gus' color being green.
  • Comic Trio: Combo Panda (the schemer), Big Gil, Gus or Alpha (the blind follower), and Peck (the powerless straight man).
  • Fighter, Mage, Thief
    • Combo, as one the physically strongest characters, is the Fighter.
    • Peck, with his smarts and ability to create inventions, is the Mage.
    • Gil, with his quirky charm, is the Thief.
  • Fire, Water, Wind
    • Combo, with his short-tempered personality and his liking toward the color red, is the fire.
    • Gil, being an aquatic animal and living under the sea, is the water.
    • Peck, with his intelligence and inventing, is the wind.
  • Flat Character: They lack any real character development whatsoever, this scene is all you need to know about the main characters' traits.
Gus the Gator: Someone stole my gummies!
    Dr. Ion: Oh no!
Combo Panda: Dr. Ion! It's a catastrophe! Someone stole my favorite video game!
    Alpha Lexa: Dr. Ion!
    Alpha Lexa: My art kit!
    Peck: My favorite chemistry set!
    Big Gil: My snowboard!
  • Four-Fingered Hands: This applies to every character except humans, reptiles and birds.
  • Four Legs Good, Two Legs Better: Every Funny Animal in the franchise is bipedal. This does not apply to non-sapient animals or those who can only talk.
  • Funny Animal: This applies to every animal, except for pets and certain wild animals.
  • Kid-Appeal Character: The characters are quite relatable to the target audience.
  • Land, Sea, Sky: Very similar to the Fire, Water, Wind trope mentioned above.
    • Combo, as a physically strong gamer, is the land.
    • Gil, as the shark who lives underwater, is the sea.
    • Peck, as the nerdy bird, is the sky.
  • Nice Mean And In Between: Gil and/or Gus (nice), Combo (mean) and Peck and/or Alpha (in-between) respectively.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Examples include Gus' more dinosaur-like appearance and Big Gil's tail being used to walk.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: There are two examples.
    • Combo, with his spunky and confident personality, is the red to Gil's more laid-back and chill blue. Unironically, Combo's headphones are red, while Gil is a blue shark.
    • Gus, who is carefree and a bit naive, is the red to Peck's extremely intelligent and down-to-earth blue. It makes even more sense considering Gus has a red shirt and Peck has a blue snowflake mark on his stomach.
  • Talking Animal: Almost every animal in Ryan’s World can talk.
  • Through a Face Full of Fur: Characters like Combo, Alpha and Peck are shown to be able to blush.
  • Vague Age: The main characters all seem to largely conduct their own affairs, roaming freely and alone throughout Ryan's World, scheduling activities and stuff. Yet they're also very childlike, often engage in pastimes generally enjoyed by children, and are raised by their parents at home.
  • Wingding Eyes: The characters are sometimes drawn like this, their eyes often turn into symbols to match what they're feeling.
  • Younger Than They Look: Most of the characters, with the exception of Ryan, Gus, Peck and some others, are actually implied to be younger teenagers.
