Multiversal Entities

    Roxy
Roxanne Morgan Fürst AKA Paragon AKA Roshanak

The titular heroine. The Angel of the World Tree, Defender of the Multiverse and Guardian of the Tree of Life.

Human Roxy

Before she was an angel, Roxy was just a regular human girl. When she first got her powers, she tried to use them to help rebuild after the apocalypse.

Tropes for this period of Roxy's life:

  • The Anti-Nihilist: Roxy self identifies as a true Nietzschean nihilist.
  • Ascended Fangirl: Roxy was well versed in superhero lore before getting superpowers of her own.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Roxy gets distracted investigating her professor's robotics project and zones out for the entire first lesson as she studies it.
  • Cheerful Child: Before her mother died.
  • Comic-Book Movies Don't Use Codenames: Roxy has a codename issued to her by Yggdrasil, but the only place she uses it is at Power Brawl matches
  • Disability-Negating Superpower: Roxy's superintelligence mostly cancels out her autism, ADHD, and depression.
  • Doesnt Know Her Own Strength: Roxy breaks a lot of stuff when first getting accustomed to her Super-Strength. After 10 years however she has a very precise control.
  • Dreaming of Things to Come: At the very start of the story, Roxy wakes up from a dream where she was fighting Therion, which she shrugs off as just being "one of those weird dreams."
  • Genius Bruiser: Roxy is resourceful and very precise with how to apply her strength and agility in a fight. On top of that she designs and builds all of the technology she uses.
  • Healing Factor: Roxy naturally has somewhat accelerated healing, but when she uses the Yggdrasil healing drug she can regrow limbs in seconds.
  • Hyperactive Metabolism: Roxy's body can absorb what's in her stomach faster than she can drink to fill it.
  • Jewish and Nerdy: Roxy was raised jewish but her faith has been very inconsistent. She's been a hardcore fan of superheroes since she was 7, and was going to university for Robotics and Nuclear Physics.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Roxy is very quick on her feet, enough that actual super-speedster Mercury was surprised by her ability to defend against his attacks.
  • Living Lie Detector: Roxy's supersenses are finely tuned enough to be able to discern when people are lying or telling the truth.
  • Meaningful Name: Roxanne is from the ancient Arabic "Roshanak", which means "Shining", "Bright", or "Light". Very fitting for a paladin of a god of light.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: Roxy is rail-thin and still strongest person she's ever met.
  • Nay-Theist: Roxy originally wasn't a big fan of God, because God let her mother die of cancer.
  • Not Quite Flight: After first getting her powers Roxy tries to fly, but only manages to jump a few thousand feet.
  • Omnidisciplinary Scientist: Roxy is not only the world's leading roboticist, but also the world's leading nuclear physicist, creating both the first intelligent androids and fully functional fusion reactors.
  • Omniglot: Roxy can speak 200 languages, including dead and fictional ones.
  • Really Gets Around: In High School Roxy managed to sleep with almost every single one of her classmates except Jake.
  • Required Secondary Powers: At one point Roxy notes that one of her less apparent abilities is the ability to instantly recover from neurological injuries. If she didn't have it, she would have died of severe brain damage years ago.
  • Shooting Superman: Though she's not bulletproof, her bones are enough protection that Roxy's reaction to having a gun pointed at her is annoyance.
  • The Sleepless: By the time Roxy first returns to Danesville, she hasn't slept in years.
  • Superpower Lottery: Roxy hit big time: Super-Strength, Super-Intelligence, Super-Senses, Super-Toughness, Unbreakable Bones, and an accelerated Healing Factor. And that's all before her Angelic Transformation.
  • Teen Genius: It's not explicitly stated, but Roxy's 18th birthday wasn't for another 3 months and she was already taking advanced college engineering classes.
  • Unbreakable Bones: Her bones are made of Celestial Adamantium, and is the only source of it in the Multiverse.

Archangel Roxy

After dedicating her life to serving her God, Roxy was rewarded by being elevated to an Angel, whose duty it was to protect the World tree, and every world under its branches.

Tropes for this period of Roxy's life:

  • The Ageless: Roxy as an angel is immune to all effects of time.
  • Angelic Transformation: As a reward for her service to her God, she was transformed from just a human with superpowers to a more powerful angel. Among the gifts granted were her wings, though she could only use them in the light of her God.
  • Batman Can Breathe in Space: She can't talk in space, but she doesn't need need to breathe.
  • Celestial Paragons and Archangels: Roxy isn't just an Angel, she's an Archangel, the most trusted servant of her God.
  • Deity of Human Origin: Roxy is worshiped as a goddess in her own right on more than one world across the Multiverse.
  • Flying Brick: The strongest brick in the Multiverse.
  • From a Single Cell: She can be obliterated down to her skeleton and reform all her flesh in less than a minute
  • God of Good: She's never explicitly proclaimed as such, but as the opposite and primary opponent of the Multiverse's God of Evil, she is in effect.
  • Guardian of the Multiverse: Roxy's full title, as seen above, signifies her as such.
  • Implacable Woman: There is nothing in the multiverse that will shake her from your tail.
  • The Needless: Roxy needs no food, water, sleep, or oxygen.
  • Our Angels Are Different: Roxy is the Archangel, "The mightiest and most dedicated of angels". She is very firmly good, and thus very firmly opposed to the Evils of Demons and Void-Beasts. She looks like a perfectly normal, if short, human, though she does talk of being able to feel her invisible angelic wings as if there were physical.
  • Pals with Jesus: After they've been separated from their home realm, the Goddess stops speaking to Roxy like one of her agents and starts treating her more like an equal.
  • Winged Humanoid: While Roxy doesn't have physical wings, she was granted ethereal wings which she uses to fly in her home universe, and which Dawnherald allow her to use elsewhere. They can be seen under the right conditions, leaving slight shimmers where they pass.

    Dawnherald and Aegis

Dawnherald and Aegis

Dawnherald, Beacon of Hope in the Hands of the Worthy, and Aegis, Shield Against the Darkness. Weapons that Roxy found on Altar, left there for her by a Mysterious Benefactor.

  • Deflector Shield: If Aegis isn't large enough to block an attack, they can form a barrier of pure light to extend their coverage.
  • Dimensional Cutter: Dawnherald can cut open portals to other worlds.
  • Empathic Weapon: Roxy speaks to them like she does any other person, and though they can't speak they do respond to her.
  • Knightly Sword and Shield: They are Roxy's tools as the foremost servant of God.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Aegis is an unbreakable shield that will direct themselves in front of an enemy's blow if the wielder isn't able to block it themselves.
  • Public Domain Artifact: Aegis was also the shield carried by the Greek Goddess Athena, and when we meet her we learn that hers is identical in every way to the one Roxy and Diana carry, and was in fact given to her by Roxy.
  • Sharpened to a Single Atom: Dawnherald is sharpened to a molecular edge and then sharpened even further with magic to the point they can rip open subatomic wormholes.
  • Shield Bash: Roxy uses Aegis to "bash" the Howler from the Earth all the way to the Moon.
  • Summon to Hand: They will fly to Roxy's awaiting palm if she reaches for them.
  • Throwing Your Sword/Shield Always Works: They both can be thrown and will always hit their target and return.

    The Radiant Goddess

The Radiant Goddess/Diana Kadmon

The God who reigns over the Multiverse, who gave Roxy her powers and tasked her with defending it.

  • Capital Letters Are Magic: In the same way that some translations of the Bible always use capital letters to refer to Him, She is always referred to with capitalised pronouns.
  • God in Human Form: After being seperated from the source of her power, She decides to assume a mortal form and travel the multiverse like Roxy does.
  • The Faceless: To the living, Her angels and omniscient prophet included, Her face is perpetually obscured by a near-blinding light. While in human form She foregoes with the light to make Herself less conspicuous.
  • Meaningful Name: Diana was the name of the pagan goddess worshiped by the coven of witches that the name Aradia was taken from. Kadmon is the name of the first being in Jewish Kabbalah.
  • Our Gods Are Different: She's not Omnipotent, since She was capable of being stripped of Her power by outsiders, and even refers to Herself as just "an old, weak demiurge."
  • Physical God: She exists as a physical being in Paradise. When traveling the multiverse She takes a more concrete form.
  • Winds of Destiny, Change!: Among Her abilities are luck manipulation. It wasn't a coincidence that Roxy landed on Altar, it was luck the last of Her luck.

    Therion
Therion AKA Jeremy Ryan

The Beast from the Pit, the Seven-Headed Dragon, the King of Demons. The most powerful Evil entity in the Multiverse.

  • Barred from the Afterlife: Therion is forbidden from returning to Hell, and no other kind of afterlife would willfully take him.
  • Beast of the Apocalypse: As the Beast described in Revelations he is a living apocalyptic event that requires very powerful intervention to avert the absolute desolation of wherever he appears.
  • Chaotic Evil: He exists to sow death and destruction, and have a good time doing it.
  • Complete Immortality: Death isn't even an inconvenience for him, it's a means to an end.
  • Demon Lords and Archdevils: He's the Demon King, and rules over all Demons in the Multiverse.
  • Dragons Are Demonic: He's a Dragon with Seven Heads, and the King of Demons.
  • Evil Is Hammy: He's definitely got a sense of theatrics about his evil.
  • Faux Affably Evil: He's very good at pretending to be a normal human. Once the jig is up, though, he'd torture you for fun without even thinking about it.
  • God of Evil: At least to lesser Demons. There are multiversally known rituals designed to summon him to destroy worlds.
  • Humanoid Abomination: Jeremy looks like a perfectly normal, handsome human man. He is anything but.
  • Scaled Up: His dragon form is immensely more powerful than his human form.
  • Tailor-Made Prison: He has one in New Jerusalem. It doesn't hold him forever, it just minimizes his time free to terrorize the multiverse.

Void Beasts

    In General

The Void Beasts are a class of being born of the Void Between the Worlds, who feed off of the energy of the more conventional planes of existence.

  • Angels, Devils and Squid: They're the squid.
  • Eldritch Abomination: The more powerful of them transcend the properties of the worlds they attempt to invade.
  • God of Evil: The Protogenoi from Classical Mythology, primordial facets of reality descended directly from Chaos, are among their number.

    Thanatos

Thanatos

The Protogenoi of Death in Classical Mythology, a servant of Hades despite his nature.

  • The Grim Reaper: He takes people from the mortal world and escorts them to the underworld.
  • Humanoid Abomination: He looks like a handsome young man.
  • Token Heroic Orc: The Astron Society knows that his kind are the enemy, but he is bound to serve Hades and so they begrudgingly trust him.

    The Howler

The Howler

Devourer of Souls, Spawn of Apophysis. The first Void Beast introduced, a dense tangle of dark matter that houses an intelligent black hole.
