Kwami of the Chinese Miraculous Box

    In General

  • Always Lawful Good: Implied. It is mentioned that the Miraculous were created with the express purpose of empowering heroes as a means of influencing the world around them. Using them for anything other than selfless reasons would be an aberration. Sadly, kwamis don't seem to have any real say in the matter. Trixx and Duusu lean more chaotic, though.

  • Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Averted with almost all of the kwamis. Most of them match the color schemes of their real life counterparts, the colors being exaggerated or made more vibrant. The two stark outliers being Stompp and Roaar, the Ox and Tiger kwamis. Stompp and Roaar are colored navy and magenta in contrast with real oxen and tigers who are typically brown and orange-and-black striped, respectively.

  • Animal Motifs:
    • All the kwamis have traits relating to their Miraculous. Tikki has antenna and spots, Plagg has several cat traits (whiskers, cat ears, and a tail), Nooroo has butterfly wings, Wayzz has a shell, and Trixx has ears and a tail resembling a fox, Pollen resembles a bee completely.
    • Transformations add more, with the aquatic versions of Tikki and Plagg being a fish and triton respectively.

  • Anthropomorphic Personification: Kwamis are abstract creatures. Each kwami is an embodiment of an idea or emotion, like love, beauty, and mathematics.

  • Been There, Shaped History: In this 'verse, the kwamis are responsible for many major events in both history and folklore. For instance, Plagg is responsible for the extinction of the dinosaurs, Tikki worked with Joan of Arc, Trixx has been revealed to have been wielded by the Pied Piper, and the Monkey King was a wielder of Xuppu and the Monkey Miraculous.

  • By the Power of Grayskull!!: They only transform their miraculous wielders after an invocation. They're given different evocations whether their users are invoking them as superheroes or supervillains.

  • Color-Coded Characters: Each Miraculous comes with a color-coordinated kwami; the color scheme extends to the suit of their bearers.
    • Red for Tikki/Anatis.
    • Black for Plagg/Lady Noire.
    • Purple for Nooroo/Hawk Moth.
    • Navy for Duusu/Mayura.
    • Orange for Trixx/Culpeo.
    • Yellow for Pollen/Queen Bee and Abeille.
    • Green for Wayzz/Leatherback
    • Red, black, and gold for Longg/Ryūko.
    • Teal for Sass/Aspik.

  • Eastern Zodiac: There are kwamis based on the animals from the Chinese Zodiac, who are properly introduced in Sandboy.

  • Elemental Powers: While none of the shown powers have anything to do with the Five Elements or Wu Xing, the five outer Miraculous, Fox, Bee, Turtle, Peacock, Butterfly, are stated to represent them.

  • Fairy Companion: Each Miraculous comes with a fairy-like creature called a kwami that provides the power.

  • Fingerless Hands: Their upper limbs look more like fins than actual arms, but they can hold and carry stuff just fine.

  • Geas: The kwamis are magically compelled to never reveal the names of their owners to those who don't know them, even other kwami, and must obey any commands given by the holders of their Miraculous. Hawk Moth uses this to make sure Nooroo doesn't run away by ordering him to never move more than a few feet away at all times, and Nooroo is physically incapable of doing so thanks to the spell.

  • Godzilla Threshold: Originally, Fū refused to hand out the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous die to the power that they possessed in the wrong hands. After doing so, Fū is reticent to give out anymore Miraculous given that he's already distributed the two most powerful ones, he acknowledges that even some of the other Miraculous are unique among the Miraculous.

  • Good Feels Good: Wayzz notes that the kwamis felt good being able to help and communicate with humans once the Miraculous were made, allowing humans to see them.

  • Intangibility: They can pass through things at will.

  • Invisible to Normals: Before the Miraculous were created, kwamis couldn't be seen or detected by humans or other normal creatures. They also can't be caught on camera.

  • Locked Out of the Loop: Although the Guardians (now just Master Fū) have special mixes that can grant the kwamis additional powers, the kwamis themselves are not permitted to know the recipes in case their Miraculous fall into the wrong hands. This definitely works out considering what happened to Nooroo.

  • Mentor Mascot: Tikki and Plagg in particular.

  • Midair Bobbing: They can levitate at all times; kwami move around when talking or emoting, and even "standing still" they still bob a little up and down.

  • My Master, Right or Wrong: Most kwamis don't like being used for evil, but if someone evil gets ahold of their Miraculous, they have to obey them.

  • Mysterious Past: As of yet, not much about their origin has been revealed. We do know they've been around for a long time, as far back as ancient Egypt.

  • No Biological Sex: Kwamis don't really have a gender. However, kwamis will go by male or female pronouns, and the kwamis who use female pronouns often have eyelashes.

  • Older Than They Look: All of the kwamis are thousands of years old. They started forming at the beginning of time.

  • Our Gods Are Different: Akin to gods, although not in control of the universe.

  • Personality Powers: They're attracted to people whose temperament they do best with. While Tikki helps mentor and encourage Luka, Plagg brings out Marinette's rebellious and even devious side.

  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: In the typical sense that kwamis are able to lift objects much larger and much heavier than themselves but also the fact that creatures around ten centimeters tall have power akin to those of literal gods.
    • Shown most blatantly when Plagg uses Cataclysm without Marinette and almost destroys all of Paris.

  • Power Limiter: "Style Queen" indicates that the Miraculous limit and focus the kwamis' powers. For instance, Lady Noire can use Cataclysm on one specific object, while Plagg's attempt to use it without Marinette causes massive devastation across Paris.

  • Power-Up Food: Once a kwami uses up their energy, they need to eat in order to get their energy back and retransform their master. In theory, any food should do, but each kwami has a favorite that may or may not be more effective at recharging them than other foods. Using specific mixtures of ingredients allows the kwami to take on specialized forms, such as aquatic traits for underwater battles. Marinette bakes these formulas into macarons as a favor to Anatis while she made flavored cheese for Plagg.
    • Tikki: Sweets, specifically Macaroons.
    • Plagg: Cheese, his favorite being camembert.
    • Trixx: Cookies.
    • Wayzz: Tea.
    • Pollen: Croissants.
    • Nooroo: Juice.
    • Duusu: Sunflower Seeds.
    • Sass: Eggs.
    • Longg: Watermelon.

  • Really 700 Years Old: They are all extremely old, having been around before the pyramids were built.

  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: The kwamis are a race of tiny fairies with huge heads and large eyes.

  • Secret-Keeper: Naturally, as they're the ones who give their holders the powers in the first place, they always know their true identities.

  • Servant Race: Much like djinn, they are completely at the whims of their miraculous' wielders, referring to them as their "masters" and "owners" in spite of their overwhelming power. Because of this, they are restricted from doing certain things if their wielders wish it. Tikki and Plagg are physically incapable of saying their owners' names out loud, and Nooroo must remain within a few feet of Gabriel. Gabriel even briefly whims him unable to speak before undoing it, claiming that it was "just a joke". Despite this, it seems that the kwami are at their best, or at least much prefer to have a harmonious equal and equal partnership between them and their humans.

  • Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Played with; some of them have visible eyelashes, indicating that they are female. However, there are some with eyelashes who are actually male.

  • Theme Naming:
    • All the kwamis have a repeating letter in their name.
    • The concepts the kwamis are the embodiment of all end in an -ion suffix.
      • Tikki: Creation
      • Plagg: Destruction
      • Nooroo: Transmission
      • Wayzz: Protection
      • Trixx: Illusion
      • Pollen: Subjection
      • Duusu: Emotion
      • Sass: Intuition
      • Longg: Perfection

  • There Is Another: The New York special ends with the reveal that there is another Guardian operating in North America with his own Miracle Box.

  • Time Abyss: Kwamis have been around since the universe began, making some, if not all of them, older than living things like humans.

Yin and Yang

    Tikki
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2020_11_23_at_43817_pm_8.png
The Kwami of Creation. A helpful, kind, fairy-like creature that mentors Luka. Her powers are closely connected to the Yin concept of the Chinese Miracle Box. Connected to the Ladybug Miraculous, the main power she provides is Lucky Charm. Her Miraculous is Luka's earrings, and she helps him transform into Anatis.

  • Be Yourself: Most of her advice boils down to this sentiment. Whenever her charge is doubting his abilities, Tikki's always there to reassure Luka that believing in himself will fix his current problem.

  • Breaking Old Trends: In "The Pharaoh", Tikki reveals that Luka's only the second male to ever hold her Miraculous.

  • Genki Girl: Is very cheerful and enthusiastic.

  • Innocent Blue Eyes: To show her friendly and heroic nature.

  • The Maker: While it is unclear whether she had a hand in the creation of the universe, it is explicitly said that she is the Anthropomorphic Personification of Creation, technically qualifying her as a Creator God.

  • Meaningful Name:
    • Possibly. "Tiki" was the first man in Maori legend — a fitting name for the spirit of creation.
    • Alternatively, "Tyche" is a Greek goddess of luck, specifically associated with the fortune and destiny of cities.

  • Nice Girl: Very sweet and kindhearted.

  • The Older Immortal: Tikki is the oldest kwami, forming before the others at the beginning of the universe.

  • Older Than She Looks: Tikki came into being at the same time as the concept of creation, meaning that despite looking and behaving like an excited little girl she is as old as the universe itself.

  • Only Sane Man: Beneath her cutesy exterior, she displays a very levelheaded personality is nothing but helpful and encouraging with Luka, and compared to Plagg, Tikki is more responsible and grounded.

  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The usually calm Tikki is extremely proactive in trying to get the Miraculous book during "Volpina", which shows just how important it is.

  • Outside-the-Box Tactic: When manifesting Luka's Lucky Charm, her choice of materials is a bit...odd. For instance, when fighting Queen Wasp, she gives out a snorkel to help Anatis fight the akuma underwater, a camera to blind Reflekta, and a rubber ball to break the lamps in a room.

  • The Powerof Creation: She grants the power of creation, manifesting as Anatis's Lucky Charm and World-Healing Wave. This is because she formed at the beginning of the universe.

  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Plagg's red (ironic, since she herself is red). Tikki acts as something of a mentor to Luka that encourages him to not let his runaway emotions cloud his judgment and be believe in himself. This is in contrast to Plagg, who is a Troll that encourages Marinette to forgo her responsibilities and learn to be a little more selfish.

  • Secret-Keeper: As the one who gave Luka his powers, she is naturally one of the only ones who knows his true identity.

  • Secret Secret-Keeper:
    • As of "Dark Owl", she knows the truth about Marinette being Lady Noire without the latter being aware.
    • Subverted as of "Sandboy", as Tikki is seen with Marinette at Master Fū's place when she rushed back to Luka.
  • Shipper on Deck: She gives advice to Luka about how to approach Marinette.

  • Sweet Tooth: Tikki likes everything from the bakery that Marinette's parents run, but cookies in particular.

  • Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Unlike the male kwami Plagg, Tikki has visible, long eyelashes.

  • Time Abyss: While we don't know how old exactly, she's been around long enough to have been the companion to Queen Nefertiti, who lived over five thousand years ago. She's much older than that and says she was there since the first Ladybug.

  • Trademark Favorite Food: She is normally seen munching on chocolate chip biscuits.

  • Trickster Mentor: Sometimes gives cryptic advice to help Luka that isn't immediately obvious.

    Plagg
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2020_11_23_at_44101_pm_3.png
The Kwami of Destruction. A gluttonous, lazy but ultimately good-natured fairy-like creature that mentors Marinette. His powers are closely connected to the Yang concept of the Chinese Miracle Box. Connected to the Black Cat Miraculous, his main power he provides is Cataclysm. His Miraculous is Marinette's ring, and he helps her transform into Lady Noire.

  • Affectionate Nickname: He refers to Tikki as his "sugarcube".
    • He also has one for Marinette. Doll Face.

  • The Anti-God: Plagg is the Dark Is Not Evil equal and opposite to Tikki in a bitheism and duotheism Daostic kind of relationship. They also have opposite personalities.

  • Bad Powers, Good People: The source of Marinette's destructive powers, but like all kwamis, his powers are intended to be used for good.

  • Big Eater: He can (and will) eat cheese blocks bigger than his body in one bite. He also won't say no to any cheese-related pastries that Marinette bakes up, particularly Cheese Danishes.

  • Cat Stereotype: Plagg is the spirit of bad luck, so he has the form of a black cat. He's also quite lazy and loves dairy products.

  • Cute Little Fangs: Also the only teeth he has, but it adds to "mischievously cuteness" appeal.

  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Downplayed on both counts, since he's the one to give Marinette her powers, but one would probably not expect the food-obsessed, lazy, and trolling kwami to be responsible for the sinking of Atlantis and the extinction of the dinosaurs along with the tilting of the Tower of Pisa. When Luka learned this he was caught between being terrified and just laughing.

  • Dark Is Not Evil: He is a black cat with powers related to rot, but like all kwami he is benevolent. Though lazy and annoying.

  • Destroyer Deity: He counts as this, being the Anthropomorphic Personification of Destruction. Granted he is a rare benevolent example, acting as an equal/opposite counterpart to Tikki in the Taoist concept of yin and yang.

  • Dude, Where's My Respect?:
    • Tikki is seriously strict about dealing with Plagg, similar to Anatis and Lady Noir's banter. Probably, after centuries dealing with it, Tikki is too used to Plagg's unorthodox ways, but not as patient;
    • Sometimes, Marinette is on the receiver side of their partnership. More than once, Plagg did let Marinette alone to do its own thing, mainly in situations Marinette was really in need of her powers.

  • Fatal Flaw: Gluttony. His endless hunger for cheese gets himself into trouble sometimes, but it actually worked in his favor when he found the Miraculous Book during one of his 'cheese hunts'.

  • Give Him a Normal Life: Downplayed. Plagg tries to encourage Marinette to enjoy her youth whenever possible. Sometimes, it's ill-thought-out advice.

  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • In general, he's not wrong that Marinette should enjoy being a kid, especially when so many people rely on her for other things.
    • He gives her a small What the Hell, Hero? moment in "Evillustrator" when she abandons Anatis as he's guarding Chloé.

  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Plagg tends to be lazy, irresponsible, and snarky, but it's obvious he cares for Marinette, even giving her a Kwagatama on her birthday as a sign of their friendship.

  • Make Them Rot: He grants the power of destruction, manifesting as Lady Noire's Cataclysm.

  • Meaningful Name: "Plagg" sounds a lot like "Plague". Fitting for the spirit of destruction.

  • Mellow Fellow: Plagg is mellow and calm to the point of being lazy.

  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Plagg becomes extremely proactive when he finds the Miraculous Book, immediately warning Tikki about it when he sees it in "Volpina", which shows just how important it is.

  • Older Than They Look: He's the spirit of destruction in direct balance with the Ladybug Miraculous, meaning that he's at least as old as Tikki is, but never really references his age onscreen.

  • Person of Mass Destruction:
    • He can use Cataclysm just like Lady Noire, but with far greater destructive power and far less finesse. When he uses it to help Anatis (in his Red Mamba guise) in "Style Queen", he lightly taps the ground, creating a massive shockwave that destroys the Eiffel Tower and causes major damage to the rest of Paris. He's also apparently responsible for the sinking of Atlantis, making the Tower of Pisa lean, and the extinction of the dinosaurs.

  • Phlebotinum Killed the Dinosaurs: Turns out that a reckless use of Cataclysm was behind it when a T-Rex scared him.

  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: You wouldn't normally expect a palm-sized creature like him to be capable of instant citywide destruction.

  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Tikki's blue. While Tikki is The Conscience for Luka, encouraging him to believe in himself and think rationally, Plagg acts more as an Anti-Mentor (or a Trickster Mentor) that tries encouraging the normally responsible Marinette to be more impulsive and has his own fair share of good points despite his counter-productive advice.

  • The Sacred Darkness: The kwami of destruction and misfortune, yet he is the Dark Is Not Evil and holy yin counterpart to Tikki.

  • Secret-Keeper: As the one who gave Marinette her powers, he is naturally one of the only ones who knows her true identity.

  • Secret Secret-Keeper: As of "Style Queen" he knows the truth about Luka being Anatis and is shown interacting directly with Luka in both of his identities.

  • Shipper on Deck: He is constantly teasing Marinette about her crush on Anatis and often tries to help her with her feelings. He's also teased her about Luka and Adrien on occasion.

  • The Slacker: He is quite lazy.

  • The Snack Is More Interesting: Plagg will always, always, focus on his next meal rather than what is actually important. A particular example is when Marinette shows her the hat for Adrien's fashion show and immediately asks if he can eat it.

  • Trademark Favorite Food: Cheese wedges. He especially likes Camembert, a kind of cheese traditionally made with unpasteurized milk and known for for its strong (and sometimes unpleasant) smell.

  • Troll: Constantly teasing Marinette about her crushes, and admits that he finds her more moody moments hilarious.

Wu Xing

    Nooroo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bf8ee91968eefc8301a20ffc608c48a8_5.jpg
The Kwami of Transmission. A sweet but haggard fairy-like creature that is enslaved by Hawk Moth. His powers are closely connected to the Wood Wu Xing element. Connected to the Butterfly Miraculous, the main power he provides appears to be Akumatization. His Miraculous is a brooch, and he helps its wielder transform into Hawk Moth.

  • Butterfly of Transformation: Nooroo's Miraculous grants its wielder the ability of Super-Empowering other people, transforming them into superheroes or supervillains.

  • Forced into Evil: He would rather not have his powers used for evil, but he has no say in the matter.

  • Horrible Judge of Character: It's implied that he gave Hawk Moth most of the exposition on the Miraculous before he realized that the latter intended to use the powers for selfish purposes.

  • Non-Standard Character Design: Nooroo is the only kwami whose antennae are not on his head, instead having them on his hind wings like a swallowtail butterfly.

  • No Self-Buffs: The akuma he creates are unable to empower his wielder. Hawk Moth has to renounce him temporarily in order to transform himself into The Collector.

  • Odd Name Out: Unlike the other known kwamis, Nooroo has two sets of repeating vowels in his name (the other ones have consonants).

  • Pretty Butterflies: A powerful butterfly-themed spirit.

  • Punch-Clock Villain: As stated in Forced into Evil Nooroo may power up Hawk Moth's miraculous and allow him to use his power, but he himself isn't a bad kwami, he just got stuck with the wrong user.

  • Super-Empowering: He grants the power of transmission, manifesting as Hawk Moth's Akumatization.

  • Support Party Member: Of the kwamis whose special power has been revealed, Nooroo's has the least direct effects against an opponent, only being able to bestow Super Empowering on others. In Queen Wasp it's revealed that this ability can buff other Miraculous.

  • Trauma Conga Line: Not only is Nooroo unwillingly complicit in akumatizing many people into villains, when it's explicitly stated that kwamis desire only to do good, he has to endure Hawk Moth's abuse. In Sandboy Nooroo is confined to a specific distance from Gabriel that he can't leave no matter what that manifests as a barrier when he tries and when Gabriel gives a temporary order not to speak, Nooroo's mouth disappears.

  • Walking Spoiler: His appearance reveals the nature of Hawk Moth's powers.

    Duusu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2020_11_23_at_45826_pm.png
The Kwami of Emotion. His powers are closely connected to the Fire Wu Xing element. Connected to the Peacock Miraculous, the main power he provides Mayura is Amokization. His Miraculous is Nathalie's brooch, and he helps her transform into Mayura.

  • Feathered Fiend: Not by choice, but he's a bird-like creature serving and empowering a supervillain.

  • Forced into Evil: Duusu's powers are currently being used by Mayura to aid Hawk Moth. The twist is that Duusu doesn't seem to realize his powers are being used for evil.

  • Genki Girl: Not a girl, but Duusu is quite excitable, even in the face of defeat.

  • Heroic R Ro D: "Miraculer" reveals that the Peacock Miraculous is damaged, via Anatis sensing it through his empathy and being partially weakened from it. Fū confirms it's been damaged since he left the temple.

  • Mood-Swinger: Duusu can go from overly cheerful to crying and back again at the drop of a hat.

  • Mook Maker: He grants the power of emotion, manifesting as Mayura's Amokization.

  • Non-Standard Character Design: So far, he's the only kwami based on a bird who has a normal mouth instead of a beak.

  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Not by choice, but he has red eyes.

  • Support Party Member: Interesting in that his powers have been used to support another Support Party Member. Hawk Moth, via Nooroo, creates akuma villains, and Mayura, via Duusu, creates allies for them. However, instead of empowering the akuma villains directly, he creates sentimonsters to protect, aid, and empower them.

  • Toxic Phlebotinum: Up until "Miraculer" the heroes pondered why the Peacock Miraculous wasn't being used as often. Thye get confirmation from Fū that its because the Miraculous is damaged, and a damaged Miraculous is extremely dangerous to use.

    Trixx
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2020_11_23_at_50724_pm.png
The Kwami of Illusion. A playful fairy-like creature that habitually mentors Juleka. His powers are closely connected to the Metal Wu Xing element. Connected to the Fox Miraculous, the main power he provides is Mirage. His Miraculous is Juleka's necklace, and he helps her transform into Culpeo.

  • Ambiguously Evil: The Pied Piper of Hamelin was a Fox Miraculous holder. In the original story of the Pied Piper, he lured children away from their village for revenge, never to be seen again. Trixx may have influenced him. On the other hand, Nooroo is proof that kwamis don't have a choice in who uses them and for what, meaning he could have been Forced into Evil.
  • Asian Fox Spirit: Resembles one in design, but only has one tail.

  • Cute Little Fangs: In keeping with kwamis possessing characteristics of the animals they're based on, Trixx has little fox incisors.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Trixx looks strangely feminine for being male.
  • Fantastic Foxes: Resembles a fox and grants mystical powers to his wielder.
  • Forced into Evil: Implied. One of Trixx's past holders was The Pied Piper of Hamelin, so if the Piper was villainous, this applies to Trixx.
  • Mark of the Supernatural: Trixx is essentially god of illusion and possesses purple eyes which stand in stark contrast to his mostly orange design.
  • Master of Illusion: He grants the power of illusion, manifesting as Culpeo's Mirage.
  • Meaningful Name: "Trixx" is phonetically similar to "tricks", fitting his powers and appearance.
  • Secret-Keeper: As the one who gave Juleka her powers, he is naturally one of the only ones who knows her true identity.
  • Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Subverted. Despite his visible eyelashes, he's male.

    Wayzz
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2020_11_23_at_45750_pm.png
The Kwami of Protection. A sage and wise fairy-like creature, and companion to Master Fū, and who mentors Ivan. His powers are closely connected to the Water Wu Xing element. Connected to the Turtle Miraculous, his Miraculous is Fū's and Ivan's bracelet.

    Pollen
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2020_11_23_at_45806_pm.png
The Kwami of Subjection. A polite, obedient fairy-like creature that was initially intended to go to Alya but falls into Chloé's hands when Anatis loses the Miraculous. Her Miraculous is later given to Rose. Her powers are closely connected to the Earth Wu Xing element. Connected to the Bee Miraculous, the main power she provides is Venom. Her Miraculous is a hair comb, and she helps her transform into Queen Bee. The Miraculous is currently inactive after Chloé returned it to Anatis.

  • Ambiguous Situation: Pollen is inside the Bee Miraculous when Lady Noir uses Cataclysm on it but Anatis's World-Healing Wave repairs it almost immediately, and it's not made clear whether Pollen was killed and then brought back to life or if she was totally unharmed. Given that it's implied that the Miraculous are merely objects that allow kwami to interact with and empower humans, the latter possibility is more likely.

  • Bad Powers, Good People: While Nooroo's power is meant to be used on people, in the hands of a good-natured individual it's meant to create heroes. Pollen's power, on the other hand, is intentionally debilitating and can only be used on people. Nonetheless, Pollen remains a force for good.

  • Foil: To Liiri. While Liiri is the Anthropomorphic Personification of Liberation, Pollen personifies Subjugation.

  • Good Is Not Soft: The only kwami of the core seven whose default power has no use other than as a weapon against living beings. (Even Plagg's Cataclysm can be used on inanimate objects.)

  • Lady of War: Even though she is very polite and proper, referring to Chloé as "my queen", it doesn't detract from the fact that Pollen grants her holder powers that are extremely battle-oriented. The powers Pollen grants are even more battle-oriented than those granted by Plagg.

  • Meaningful Name: Pollen is the flower dust used for their reproduction. It gets on bees after they drink from their nectar, helping to pollinate the flowers.

  • The Paralyzer: She grants the power of subjection, manifesting as Queen Bee's Venom.

  • Virtuous Bees: She resembles a bee and creates bee-themed superheroes.

Zodiac

    Mullo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2020_11_23_at_45606_pm.png
The Kwami of Multiplication. Connected to the Mouse Miraculous. Their Miraculous is a pendant necklace.

  • Self-Duplication: They grant the power of multiplication.

  • Sizeshifter: His ability also shrinks the user the more duplicates they make.

    Stompp
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2020_11_23_at_45509_pm_1.png
The Kwami of the Ox Miraculous. Her Miraculous is a nose ring.

  • The Determinator: Implied in "Sandboy", as while the kwamis are mostly scared after accidentally contacting Hawk Moth, she remains persistent, and tells them to keep singing so they can know his location.

    Roaar
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2020_11_23_at_45417_pm_1.png
The Kwami of the Tiger Miraculous. Her Miraculous is a panjas bracelet.

  • Wrong Genre Savvy: When Tikki presents a marker to the kwamis, Roaar touches the top and assumes it’s a paintbrush when the color runs off on his paw. This might also give an indication of how long the kwamis have been locked away.

    Fluff
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2020_11_23_at_45256_pm_3.png
The Kwami of Evolution. A hyperactive, motormouth fairy-like creature. Connected to the Rabbit Miraculous her Miraculous is a pocket watch.

  • Parasol of Pain: Her Miraculous tool.

  • White Bunny: She's the Rabbit Kwami and is based on the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, she's also white.

    Longg
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/8abdf40db3a762db89f610d3b5770618_45.png
The Kwami of Perfection. A formal, disciplined, and courteous kwami that mentors Kagami. Connected to the Dragon Miraculous, the main power he provides is elemental shapeshifting. His Miraculous is a beaded choker, and he helps Kagami transform into Ryūko.

    Sass
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2020_11_23_at_45717_pm.png
The Kwami of Intuition. A wise and calm kwami that mentors Adrien. Connected to the Snake Miraculous, the main power he provides is Second Chance. His Miraculous is an ouroboros bracelet, and he helps Adrientransform into Aspik.

  • I Am Very British: Sass speaks with an RP accent.

  • "Groundhog Day" Loop: A fairly short one. Sass’s power can only send the user back five minutes, but they can repeat that time as often as they like.

  • The Leader: Seems to be one for the kwamis as a whole, as everyone listens to him and he's the one leading the other kwamis into contacting Nooroo.

  • Save Scumming: His power allows his wielder to redo a critical moment in battle.

  • Sssssnake Talk: It's subtle, but Sass elongates his S's into a hiss.

  • Time Rewind Mechanic: He provides the power of intuition, manifesting as Aspik and Red Mamba's Second Chance.

    Kaalki
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2020_11_23_at_45020_pm_7.png
The Kwami of Teleportation. An aristocratic, elegant, and proud fairy-like creature. Connected to the Horse Miraculous, the main power she provides is Voyage. Her Miraculous is a pair of glasses, and she along with Tikki, helps Luka transforms into Stallion.

  • I Am Very British: The horse kwami has a noticeable English accent, though it's somewhat less posh than Sass's.

  • Meaningful Name: Kalki is an avatar of Vishnu in Hindu mythology that rides on a white horse and brings the end of the world.

  • Proper Lady: Her ultra-posh manner of speaking evokes this image.

  • Thinking Up Portals: She grants the power of teleportation, manifesting as Stallion’s Voyage.

The Kwami of Jubilation. A mischievous and cheeky fairy-like creature. Connected to the Monkey Miraculous his Miraculous is a circlet.
  • Shout-Out: To the Monkey King from Journey to the West, being a monkey with trickster powers. Sun Wukong was a Monkey Miraculous user in-universe.

    Orikko

The Kwami of the Rooster Miraculous. Their Miraculous is a thumb ring.

  • Cock-a-Doodle Dawn: Orikko has the form of a Rooster.

  • Odd Name Out: Orikko is the only kwami whose name is three syllables long rather than one or two.

The Kwami of the Dog Miraculous. Their Miraculous is a collar necklace.

  • Canine Companion: They would be this to their holders.

  • Heroic Dog: Being able to allow someone to transform and become a hero definitely makes them qualify for this.

The Kwami of the Pig Miraculous. His Miraculous is an anklet.

  • Gender-Blender Name: Daizzi's name appears to come from the name "Daisy", typically given to women.

  • Mismatched Eyes: Not so much the eyes specifically but Daizzi has a black blotch around only one of his eyes.

Kwami of the Native American Miraculous Box

    Liiri
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2020_11_23_at_71449_pm.png
The Kwami of Freedom. She is contained in the Falcon Miraculous, which was once wielded by the Marquis de Lafayette before being given to George Washington. Her Miraculous is a talon pendant.

  • Foil: To Pollen. While Pollen is the Anthropomorphic Personification of Subjugation, Liiri personifies Freedom.

  • Forced into Evil: She is briefly captured by Hawk Moth and forced to aid him in his efforts to seize the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous. Fortunately, Anatis and Lady Noire rescue her.

  • Lethal Harmless Powers: Targeting and removing a mental state that holds someone back doesn't seem that powerful, which even Liiri downplays, but it's demonstrated that someone can be made to act completely counter to their normal selves simply by targeting a positive trait that restricts a negative one.

  • Odd Name Out: Whilst Liiri's name follows the double letter rule of kwamis, their concept, freedom, is the first to not have the suffix -ion. Possibly justified since she comes from a different Miracle Box.

  • The Unfettered: She grants the power of freedom, manifesting as Falcon's Liberation. Specifically, she grants freedom from one's mental and emotional restrictions.
