Richman 1
"多謝你看會起啦!note "
Voiced by: Zhuo Zhiweinote , Cao Jilunote , Tian Jijenote
An old Taiwanese farmer in his 70s who always wanted a nice farm.
  • Asians Love Tea: While not seen sipping some, he’ll happily declare to brew some when he gets at least three properties in one street.
  • All Asians Wear Conical Straw Hats: Wears a straw hat as a standard outfit for Taiwanese farmers. His property is also marked with one when there’s no buildings in most titles.
  • Berserk Button: Fight’s description mentioned he will be angered if someone ever steals the crops in his land.
  • Black Bead Eyes: He has small eyes since 5.
  • Bucket Helmet: Wears a wok as a helmet in his alternative skin in Fight.
  • Buffy Speak: He refers to motorcycles as “jet bicycles” as he's more familiar with bicycles.
October: Let's ride the jet bicycle!
  • Demoted to Extra: Only appears in his grandson’s ending in 8's Story Mode as he has been traveling with the injured Miyamoto in that game.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Played with. Most instruction manuals mention that he doesn't like hamburgers, but he is fine with having one in 6 if it means replenishing all his energy.
  • Dub Name Change: His name in Chinese, 阿土伯, means Old man A-Tuu.
  • Early Installment Character-Design Difference: His design goes through many changes across titles: His mustache is black and curly in 1 and looks more like a frog in 4 compare to his current look, which looks normal with a white mustache.
  • Eyes Always Shut: His eyes never open in 4, even when he’s attacked by other players. He also has closed eyes in 11, but some of his portraits show them open.
  • Fish Eyes: Has big, googly eyes that are always shut in 4.
  • Hurricane of Aphorisms: Some of his voicelines contains Taiwanese proverbs, which fits as he's an elderly.
  • Mellow Fellow: He is mostly calm even when something lucky or misfortune happens.
  • Senior Creep: Looks more like a frog than an old man in 4. Justified in his ending from 4’s expansion pack as he’s probably an alien.
  • Stone Wall: His talents in 10 and 11 decreases the amount of damage he takes. His other talents usually revolves around increasing the length of possession of some gods as well. Other than that, he is mostly very passive.

  • Opaque Lenses: His eyes are obscured under his shades except in 11.
  • Professional Gambler: He’s a gambler who likes to manipulate his opponents and win all of their cash. Subverted when he's shown gambling in his ending in 7 and his opening cutscene in 8's Story Mode, where he loses both bets, to the point that you have to help him pay his debt in 8!
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: Wears a nice suit while waiting for scheming (and failed) again.
