     In General
  • Beauty, Brains and Brawn:
    • Black Rabbit (Kurousagi) uses her god-granted lightning strikes and thus is brawn.
    • Kudou Asuka is beauty, with strong charisma and a "command" ability.
    • Kasukabe You is brains, signified by her copy ability and being able to speak many languages, including a sizeable amount of animal ones.
  • Boke and Tsukkomi Routine: Izayoi, You, and Asuka play the boke, and Kurousagi is the tsukkomi, right down to the paper fan she uses to hit them while doing it.
  • Fighter, Mage, Thief: Izayoi is the fighter, Asuka the mage and You the thief.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: A non-villainous example. Before summoning the problem children to Little Garden, No Name was one of the weakest, if not the weakest, community in the East. After the summoning, they are one of the most powerful communities in the East.
  • The Gadfly: The three problem children love to prank Kurousagi.
  • Superpower Lottery: The three problem children have the strongest gift of humanity

     Izayoi Sakamaki
Voiced by: Shintaro Asanuma (Japanese), Josh Grelle (English)

Izayoi is a main character as well as the most powerful of the problem children. He is the holder of a powerful gift known as "Code Unknown" otherwise known as Last Future of Embryo. When he was younger his parents left him at a foster care facility and never returned. This is actually a lie. He was actually taken away from his family when he was younger by Canaria because of his powerful gift.

  • The Ace: Is amazing at basically everything.
  • Anti-Magic: His Gift can destroy other Gifts.
  • Ass Kicking Equals Authority: In volume 6 when uniting the veterans in the North.
    • Also a gains the status of Candidate of Origin after oneshoting a pure blood dragon in volume 4.
  • Badass Bookworm: Spends most of his time in libraries reading books.
  • Badass Boast: Izayoi does this in episode 3 as part of a plan to restore Jin's community by proclaiming that Jin is going to take down the demon lords. He tells him that since they have nothing else to go on, they need a symbol to go by, hence naming the leader of their community.
  • Berserk Button: Izayoi WILL kick your ass if you hurt his community members.
    • When Kurousagi gets completely trashed by His Highness, Izayoi forgot all about holding back and went all out against His Highness. His punches actually shattered the city around him.
  • Beyond the Impossible: Izayoi's modus operandi is to punch anything and everything into submission. Nothing wrong with that but when his enemy unleashes a Kamehame Hadoken of petrification and he beats up the beam as if it were made of glass, he baffles everyone.
    • At one point, a mist is released that is said will "kill anyone it touches". Izayoi's response? kick it away!!!!
  • Big Brother Mentor: Teaches Jin how to be a better leader.
  • Catchphrase: Izayoi shouts "Sharakusai!" defiantly when an opponent unleashes a finishing move. It means "Cheeky, impudent" and usually is translated something like "In your dreams!" or "Not happening!" or "That's what you think!"
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Regularly ends battles with a single punch or kick, such as the water serpent goddess in the first episode, and Perseus later on.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Does this multiple times to various gods and demons in Little Garden.
  • Genius Bruiser: He's not just a "punch everything" kind of guy; he can also memorize the positions and suits of 53 cards at once.
  • The Gadfly: Takes an equal amount of pleasure out of fighting and making fun of Kurousagi.
  • Happily Adopted: Adopted by Canaria when he was younger.
  • The Hedonist: "Having fun" is his number one priority.
  • Hidden Depths: It has been stated a few times in universe that Izayoi uses his frivolous smile as a mask to hide what he is actually feeling.
  • Heroes Fight Bare Handed: Doesn't use anything besides his fists and feet in combat.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: He is this in a way to Jin since he serves as the boy's mentor.
  • Ironic Echo: To Perseus.
  • Japanese Politeness: Averted; he is condescending to most people he addresses, be it allies, gods, or demons.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: For all his Blood Knight tendencies, his actions towards others who are on his side, usually serve some kind of goal that is beneficial for them.
    • Very obvious in his dialog with Lily in volume 3 where he implies that he is going to find her mother for her without actually saying it. Gets lampshaded by Leticia.
  • Kraken and Leviathan: Defeats a Kraken in Episode 4.
  • The Lancer: To Jin, helping him to become a better leader.
  • Light 'em Up: Aurora Pillar
  • Lightning Bruiser: Has super strength, can run at third cosmic velocity, and can take quite a bit of punishment.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: He is thin but his strength is tremendous.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands: His gift is deliberately defined as "unknown" so he can often show off a new use of his abilities when the plot demands it.
  • One-Man Army: This guy can taken on gods and demons by his lonesome.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: His gift is said to be able to destroy stars.
  • Purple Eyes: He's special alright.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Then end result with his final fight against Azi Dahaka. Despite the fact that Azi Dahaka was defeated, Izayoi wasn't satisfied as he felt like he stole the win.
  • Smarter Than You Look: Lampshaded by Kurousagi when Izayoi figures out Perseus' plan:
Kurousagi: "Izayoi-san, are you actually smart?"
  • The Strategist: Comes up with the solutions to all of the gift games that the No Names have taken part in up to date.
    • Even lampshaded in volume 8 where Asuka mentions that they don't have a plan because he is not there to make one for them.
  • Stepford Smiler: Type B before he came to Little Garden.
  • Super Strength: Part of his gift; he can throw rocks like they're meteorites, can crawl on walls by shoving his hands into them, and can destroy structures with punches or kicks.
  • Taking the Bullet: More of Taking the Claw, pushes Kurousagi out of the way of an attack from Azi Dahaka at the end of book 7.
  • Tsurime Eyes: Highlighting his tough guy personality.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: When your main source of power is a No-Sell and Super Strength, you really don't need to be skilled to use it.
  • Unstoppable Rage: After Highness curbstomps Kurousagi.
  • Violence Really Is the Answer: Often uses violence as a means of problem solving.
  • When All You Have Is a Hammer...: While Izayoi has been shown to have some intellect and good observational skills, it seems his solution to every fight is "punch it as hard as you can." Interestingly, the first time he doesn't win a Gift Game is also the first time "punch the bejeezus out of everything" wasn't a legitimate way to win.
  • Willfully Weak: As impossible it is true. Growing up, he realized that if he truly let himself go he'd probably destroy the world, so he suppressed his own power with mental blocks. Prior to arriving at Little Garden, Canaria predicted that this would hold him back and made arrangements with Baron La Croix to help Izayoi get over it, which works. However, Izayoi still consciously holds himself back in fights to avoid hurting his friends and allies. Until His Highness hit Izayoi's Berserk Button, and Izayoi stopped holding back for the first time ever.

     Asuka Kudou
Voiced by: Sarah Emi Bridcutt (Japanese), Nancy Novotny (English)

Asuka is The Ojou from a rich family that owns a financial company. Originally, she lived in a time period after a war (presumed to be WWII) while attending boarding school. She describes her previous life as "living as a caged bird" since she was always isolated from others because of her gift. Her gift is "Authority" the power to command people and inanimate objects alike. Many characters in the story has described her gift as giving people or items pseudo divinity.

  • A-Cup Angst: While she has a decently sized bust (a medium size), she feels this way when she sees that Black Rabbit's bust is bigger.
  • Battle Ball Gown: The red dress she receives from Kurousagi has an "aura of protection" which makes it suitable for fights. She herself states that it is "easy to move in."
  • Big Damn Heroes: In Episode 9.
  • Over Shadowed By Awesome: A source of insecurity that she is physically the weakest among the three problem children, having no outstanding physical abilities like Izayoi and You. Whats ironic about that is that between her and You is that Asuka has a better track record overall in fights.
  • Compelling Voice: Her Gift "Authority" enables her to control not only animals that can hear her but plants too, thus giving her a pseudo Green Thumb.
  • Expy: Asuka, with her "Arrogant and confident magic-using young-mistress of a wealthy family who sports luscious long black hair tied in twin-tails and loves to dress in red and black", is a clear expy of Rin Tohsaka.
  • Fish out of Water: Summoned by Kurousagi to Little Garden.
    • Fish out of Temporal Water: Unlike Izayoi and You (who were from an alternate present and future, respectively), she was from an alternate past (approx. after WW2); as a result she is unaware of certain things in present times (like crepes and Halloween).
  • Girly Bruiser: Fighting evil and being badass while in a frilly dress with hair ribbons.
  • Golem/Animated Armor: Deen
  • Nice Girl: Her goal in Little Garden is "understanding others", after all.
  • I Regret Nothing: With You, when asked about challenging Fores Garo to a high stakes game by Kurousagi.
  • The Ojou: Daughter of a major financial group. Izayoi is given to calling her this in lieu of her name.
  • Super Empowering: Her gift can add spiritual power to someone or empower another Gift.
  • Taken for Granite: Temporarily turned to stone in the game against Perseus.

Out of the three problem children, You is from the time period that is the most futuristic. Her gift allows her to communicate with different species obtain powers from them after she befriends them. This is shown when she befriends a gryphon in Little Garden and gains the ability to walk on air. • Speaks Fluent Animal: Thanks to her gift she can talk with cats, sparrows, pegnuins, dolphins and other things.

  • Taken for Granite: Temporarily in the game against Perseus.

Voiced by: Iori Nomizu (Japanese), Jessica Calvello (English)

Kurousagi is the person responsible for calling the three problem children to Little Garden. She acts as their guide by informing them of the various happenings in Little Garden. As a Moon Rabbit and a dependent of Indra, Kurousagi is very strong. She possesses many high level gifts as well as the Judge Master's Authority in which she can temporary put games on hold from her allies to have time to solve the puzzle. Kurousagi might be the last remaining Moon Rabbit since her hometown was annihilated by a Maou 200 years ago.

  • Dark and Troubled Past: Her hometown and family were wiped out by a Maou 200 years ago.

  • Ms. Exposition: Explains how Little Garden works to the three humans.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She's well-endowed, and wears a mini skirt and garters.

  • Paper Fan of Doom: Her weapon of choice against the problem children.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: Her hair turns pink when she gets serious.

     Leticia Draculea

  • Aloof Big Brother: She was on good terms with her sister Lamia, but Leticia was apparently this to her, since her sister lamented how little they met each other.
  • The Atoner: Leticia is full of remorse for having become a demon lord and for what happened to her sister because of her, so she now want to make up for it.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: She has her moments, mostly because of Pest and Baron La Croix.
  • Break the Cutie: For most of her life since the day she was betrayed, and even in the present she is still troubled by her past.
  • Broken Bird: Volume 4 revealed that she is very lonely and depressed and that she has a really tragic past, then the Short Story about her past show Leticia crying from loneliness inside her castle, and reveal that she has been alone for thousands of years, and that she has always been really lonely and depressed for most of her life.Lampshaded by Izayoi:
Izayoi: "I can’t possibly stand by and see Kasukabe die alone just for our depressed and self-depreciating maid right?”.
  • Brought Down to Normal: She lost her divinity, but she is still very powerful.
  • Casting a Shadow: Can create limitlessly spears and lances made of shadows and throw them even thousands at a time, can animate her shadow as a doppelganger with her same capability, can infuse darkness in her weapon, and her shadow can take the form of a dragon's jaw.
  • The Cynic: She is quite cynical and pessimistic about the future.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Some of her comrades betrayed her and killed her parents, her little sister, and all her other comrades, Leticia killed all the traitors, but she had lost anything, remaining alone. Then she lived completely alone for thousands of years, soaking in loneliness and sadness, until one day she met Canaria and learned that her sister didn't die, but due to Leticia's actions she was cursed to turn in a monster. She is then recruited in Canaria's community and found a bit of hope, but their community was later destroyed by a demon lord and Leticia was kidnapped for 3 years. She is later saved by the 3 MC, just to discover in vol.4 that her friend Canaria is dead and all her other old comrades are either dead too or impossible to save.
  • Dark Is Not Evil
  • Despair Event Horizon: In the past, being betrayed, losing her family, and being alone for thousands of years made her lose the hope of ever being happy, and then she completely fell in despair upon learning that her sister had survived but was cursed to become a monster because of her, fortunately Canaria saved her by saying that her sister can still be saved, and by forcing Leticia to join her community, giving hope to her.
  • Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: She has been aimless for thousands of years before entering in the No Name.
Leticia: “…. What, What can I do now? What… What I want to do? Even after obtaining freedom, I still do not know what….”
  • Dragon Ancestry: She have pure dragon blood in her veins, that's because in-universe the vampire race descended from a dragon.
  • Elegant Gothic Lolita: The dress that she is shown wearing at times since vol.4 is this
  • Emotionless Girl: She is a reserved, stoic and quiet girl that tend to don't show much emotions.
  • Fallen Princess: She was once a vampire princess, then her clan fell, she lost everything, and in the present she work in a menial job as a maid.
  • Fate Worse than Death: The leader of Perseus captured her in a gift game. He then decided to sell her as a Sex Slave to the highest bidder and described it in lurid detail if he cannot get a better offer (read: Kurousagi). Naturally, the problem children are furious about this. Fortunately, the whole thing is averted in the end.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: The melancholic.
  • Healing Factor: She regenerated after being ripped into pieces by Azi Dahaka.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: As a princess she believed that no man would ever fall in love with a woman like her, and when she met Canaria for the second time she has been shown to have a very low self-esteem. Lampshaded in vol.4 by Izayoi who call her exactly this.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: When Kasukabe called her "a comrade", Leticia cried of joy and even compared Kasukabe to the sun.
Leticia (with tears in her eyes): " I see, so my sun doesn't exist only in the skyies."
  • Lady of War: She is cool and reserved, and this trope is lampshaded by Carla who described her as "a flower in the battlefield".
  • Lonely at the Top: In the past, after being betrayed by her comrades, Leticia lived a very lonely life for a very long time: she was alone and friendless, her family was dead, she couldn't leave her castle, and people feared her because she was a demon lord... so she lived in her castle completely alone, for thousands of years.
    • In a flashback we see that she was very lonely and depressed because of this, and Vol.4 show that she is still very lonely even now, since Leticia cried of joy just because Kasukabe called her "a comrade".
  • Meido: After the titular problem children rescue her from Perseus they basically force her to become a maid, and Leticia, feeling indebted and being a not really ambitious person, accepted the job. Of course, even as a maid she can still kick ass.

  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: As a vampire princess she was serious and responsible toward her job, and even if in the present she is just a maid, she maintains the same attidute toward her maid's work.
  • Shrinking Violet: Implied. She is quiet, reserved and docile, in vol.5 she was very flustered and heavily blushed just because Pest saw her spinning her skirt, and in an occasion she used her ability to become invisible in a crowd of people for no reason (meaning she probably just hates standing out). She seems to be the Socially Awkward Hero too.
  • Socially Awkward Hero: Implied. She had planned to skip the festival in vol 5 just because she feared what other people would have think of her, and in her past as a princess, her sister teased her for never attending female social events, always preferring to train in swordplay, and for having appeared in all important social events in a typically male tuxedo, dancing just with other girls. Leticia seems to dislike this side of her, since she was quite depressed as she said that a woman like her would be far from being a target for suitors.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: She is reserved, cool and quiet, she was described as having "cold features", Perseus described her as an aloof woman, and her interactions with certain peoples (like Croix and the Sun Lion) are quite cold. Still, she is a very polite, gentle and kind person.
  • Survivor Guilt: It has been stated in vol.3 that she feel guilt for being the only one who made it back to the community successfully, while all her other old comrades are either dead or will never be able to return.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: Here, they are youthful and physically strong, they have a Dragon Ancestry, they doesn't have a shadow (Leticia is an exception), they will be burned to death under the sunlight, and they must drink blood for survive.
  • Zettai Ryouiki: Grade A.
