Predator and Prey features Total Drama World Tour's cast behaving according to many of their canonical tropes, but various divergences from canon bring the following tropes into play:

Bridgette, the Surfer Girl

  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Her canon guilt for falling for Alejandro is even greater, as she is horribly traumatized by Alejandro raping her and then later falls into a near-suicidal depression over it.
  • Break the Cutie: Asides from all the canon instances, Bridgette is also raped by Alejandro and develops Stockholm Syndrome, which leads to Geoff breaking up with her when she returns, and she becomes extremely depressed for a few days as a result.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Despite her (and everyone else's) dislike for Heather, Bridgette chooses to share her rape story with Heather because she fears that Heather's feelings for Alejandro will result in her experiencing the same traumatic horrors that she did.
  • Moment of Weakness: Her loneliness without Geoff leads her to trust Alejandro when he asks her to come with him down to the cargo hold, which leads to her getting raped and developing Stockholm Syndrome.
  • Pregnancy Scare: Has one after she returns to the Aftermath studio. Thankfully, nothing comes out of it.
  • Why Can't I Hate You?: Throughout her time on the competition, she finds herself falling for Alejandro after being raped by him despite fully knowing that she should be hating him for what he did, to her own alarm.

Geoff, the Funnest Guy Around

  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: In canon, he was merely just extremely angry with Bridgette for what happened between her and Alejandro, but in this fic, he's every bit as miserable and heartbroken as Bridgette is.
  • Sex God: Bridgette discovers him to be this when they consummate their relationship, in contrast to the painfulness of her experience with Alejandro.

Alejandro, the Archvillain

  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In canon, he was merely indifferent towards Bridgette and cared little about how his manipulation of her would impact her relationship with Geoff. Here, he's got a predatory Villainous Crush on Bridgette and wants to destroy her relationship with Geoff so that he can take Bridgette for himself.
  • Adaptational Villainy: He's upgraded from being merely a selfish and greedy charmer to secretly being an insatiably lustful monster who takes sadistic pleasure in the pain and suffering he inflicts on Bridgette.
  • Big Bad Ensemble: Shares the Big Bad role with Blaineley for the story.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Even moreso than in canon. The self-centered and manipulative flirt seen on TV is all just an act, and in reality, he is an incredibly depraved rapist and sexual predator. He's also so good at hiding it that not even the producers and Chris are aware of the truth and only Bridgette and a select few know what he's actually like.
  • Villainous Crush: Has one on Bridgette.

Blaineley, the Co-Host

  • Big Bad Ensemble: With Alejandro.
  • Hated by All: No one on the Aftermath studio likes her, and they all throw a party when she's shipped off to the competition.

Trent, the Cool Guy

  • Nice Guy: While he's disappointed in Bridgette's action with Alejandro, he's still sympathetic enough to her that he works to help her reunite with Geoff and alleviate her depression over the break-up.
  • Those Two Guys: With Justin towards Geoff.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Due to Geoff accidentally blurting it out to him and Justin, the two are the only ones Bridgette is unaware that they know her secret (initially).

Justin, the Eye Candy

  • Hidden Depths: He is very observant of when others are sexually frustrated or when a girl is being manipulated into developing feelings for someone. As he says himself, he's more than just a pretty face.
  • Those Two Guys: With Trent towards Geoff.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Due to Geoff accidentally blurting it out to him and Trent, the two are the only ones Bridgette is unaware that they know her secret (initially).

Noah, the High IQ

  • Deer in the Headlights: He's so shocked and horrified by the sight of Alejandro raping Bridgette that he can't help but watch the event play out from a safe distance.
  • He Knows Too Much: Like in canon, he gets voted off for this, but this time it's because Alejandro knows he saw him raping Bridgette.
  • Moment of Weakness: He does nothing to save Bridgette from being raped by Alejandro due to believing himself to be too weak to save her and not wanting to attract any negative attention from or anyone else to the scene.
  • My Greatest Failure: He considers doing not taking enough action to save Bridgette from Alejandro's seduction this.
  • Not So Stoic: He drops his usual sardonic and condescending demeanour when facing Alejandro for his crimes and even shows a great deal of sympathy for the traumatized Bridgette.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Is the first person to learn that Alejandro raped Bridgette, due to him outright witnessing it.

Ezekiel, the Homeschooled Guy

  • Determinator: Is so intent on punishing Alejandro for hurting Bridgette that when he returns to the Aftermath studio, he immediately leaves to catch a flight to the Yukon and sneak aboard the Total Drama plane.

Leshawna, the Sister with 'Tude

  • Secret-Keeper: She's the first person other than Geoff that Bridgette tells of what Alejandro did to her.

Gwen, the Loner

  • Secret-Keeper: Geoff tells her about what Alejandro did to Bridgette while Bridgette is in Siberia (although Bridgette already had plans to tell Gwen before it happened).

Heather, the Queen Bee

  • Even Evil Has Standards: She is disgusted enough by Alejandro's actions towards Bridgette that she loses all of her feelings for him, allowing her to focus on winning the competition.
  • Secret-Keeper: Becomes the last person to know about what really happened between Bridgette and Alejandro.

Duncan, the Delinquent

Courtney, the Type A

  • We Used to Be Friends: With Bridgette, due to her sympathy for Alejandro and anger towards Gwen alienating Bridgette.

Beth, the Wannabe

  • Cargo Ship: In-Universe. Bridgette and Geoff find her making out with the pole after they reconcile.
  • Nice Girl: She is very sympathetic towards the miserable Bridgette, trying to cheer her up after Geoff breaks up with her and helping her muster the courage to face Geoff and apologize to him during the Aftermath.

Harold, the Dweeb

Josh, the Producer

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: The little we saw of him in canon suggested he was basically a perverted male Blaineley. Here, he's a generally decent guy, if a little cold.
  • Ascended Extra: He's implied to be the same Josh from the Action special.

Greg and Eric, the Interns

  • Chekhov's Gunman: They rescue all the contestants (except Alejandro) from the erupting volcano in the finale.
  • Those Two Guys: With Bridgette during her time in Siberia.

Bruno, the Bear

  • Bears Are Bad News: Causes the same kind of trouble he did in canon, from killing a third intern to attacking people who get too close to Bridgette.

Boris, the Blaineley Super-Fan

  • Chekhov's Gunman: He's the owner of the fishing boat that Bridgette, the interns, and Bruno take to get from Siberia to Hawaii.
