Aya in Onechanbara Origin

A beautiful assassin who carries the Baneful Blood in her veins. She often makes light of a situation but there is a depthless strength in her eyes. Her perfect figure, clad in an outlandish sexy bikini, is an irresistible sight to any men. She is Saki's half sister.

  • Action Girl: She's a female fighter who hunts undead for a living.
  • Badass Biker: Bikes are her favorite form of transportation, and she knows how to fight and drive like a pro with them.
  • Badass Cape: Aya gains a bitchin' cape as part of her redesign for Onechanbara Z. How she manages to make a black frilly cape look freaking badass is anyone's guess.
  • The Blacksmith: Part of her training to become a Master Swordsman was learning to take care and repair blades by herself, and as such she's actually a skilled blacksmith herself. If she's not training or hunting, she's usually spending time forging, repairing, honing, and perfecting her own weapons.
  • Bust-Contrast Duo: Aya has a buxom figure and is a calm and confident woman who wears Stripperiffic clothing. By contrast, her half-sister has a flat figure, and is a temperamental and insecure girl who dresses conservatively (At least by the standards of the series).
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: She has a sizable bust, which is constantly emphasized by the fact she's always wearing a bikini. This is noted to be the reason why she's a Dude Magnet.
  • Cool Big Sis: She tries to be a cool and mature older figure to her little half-sister Saki.
  • Dual Wielding: She uses a pair of blades in her alternate stance.
  • Dude Magnet: She's supposedly extremely popular with men, but we don't see enough of her normal lifestyle for this to be apparent.
  • Face–Heel Turn: Targeted for assassination along with her sister Saki by Kagura and Saaya in Kagura as the ones behind the newest zombie outbreak. It turns out that they are in fact working clandestinely for the ZPF during the crisis and are framed by the real culprit, none other than the leader of Kagura and Saaya's vampire clan.
  • Flechette Storm: She keeps throwing knives on her person so she can have ranged options of attack. They don't pack a punch, but she can throw them very quickly.
  • Fluffy Fashion Feathers: Aya's outfit has the bikini and feather boa.
  • Fur Bikini: Well feather-trimmed bikini.
  • Hunter of Monsters: She uses her Master Swordsman to hunt and kill undead monstrosities.
  • Iaijutsu Practitioner: Some of Aya's move sets function like this in her single-sword stance.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: She's a Master Swordsman who specializes in katanas, who can easily slash and cut the monsters she fights.
  • Kick Chick: While her main form of combat is via her katana, she's still skilled in fighting with her lower lody and she has a few kicks in her moveset.
  • Lascivious Beauty Mark:: She has a beauty mark under her left eye, and is a major Dude Magnet who's known for her bizarre Stripperiffic fashion sense.
  • Master Swordsman: She is a prodigy with blades, having been trained in swordsmanship by her master swordsman father since she was young.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She is a beautiful woman with a voluptuous figure that was almost entirely designed to be a Third-Person Seductress, as her entire gimmick is that she hunts undead while wearing stylish bikinis. The cutscenes also tend to play up her fanservice appeal, such as the opening of Bikini Samurai Squad, where she has a Shower Scene with Male Gaze shots of her Sexy Silhouette and naked back. Said shower then gets interrupted by a zombie outbreak newscast, forcing her to rush out of the bathroom stark naked save for Scenery Censor and Shoulders-Up Nudity.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Aya's the blue to Saki's red, being a calm, composed and reasonable person in contrast to her little sister who's brash, bratty, and emotional.
  • Spectacular Spinning: Several of her movesets incorporate spinning her body, along with her blades, which is mostly useful since most of her opponents are slow zombies and she's usually outnumbered.
  • Storm of Blades: A special ability of her's in Chaos that functions similarly to Summon Swords.
  • Stripperiffic: All she wears for her combat missions are a bikini, a cowboy hat, a fluffy scarf and thigh-high boots. She's supposedly infamous In-Universe for this eccentric fashion sense, as it's not like she can claim that her attire distracts mindless zombies.
  • Supermodel Strut: If the player lock-on to an enemy and has her move towards a target, she will move with a casual hip-swaying strut with her blade on her shoulder. Given her enemies are mostly zombies, this is purely for the benefit of the player.
  • Tattoo as Character Type: Aya has two tattoos: a winged heart on her lower backside and a rose that has the thorny stem curling around her left bicep.

    Saki

Voiced by: Nao Takamori (Japanese), Cherami Leigh (English, Z2: Chaos), Cristina Valenzuela (English, Origin)

Saki in Zombie Slayers
Onechanbara Origin

Saki is a girl of the same bloodlines as Aya. She is more susceptible to the affects of her blood than her sister. Her fragile frame contains a highly conflicted personality. One minute she is a psychopath taking an assassination work without a second thoughts, and the next she is a regular girl struggling to express her feeling for her sister.

  • Action Girl: Like her older sister, she's a female fighter who hunts undead for a living.
  • A-Cup Angst: She's not happy about her flat figure, and is jealous of being surrounded by bustier girls.
  • Badass Adorable: She is Aya's cute sister and possibly the youngest playable character of the franchise, yet she is still capable of killing zombies even by punching them.
  • Boxing Battler: When switching to her fisticuffs style, Saki fights similar to a boxer. She also combines her boxing style with wrestling as she has a couple of grapple moves.
  • Bust-Contrast Duo: Aya has a buxom figure and is a calm and confident woman who wears Stripperiffic clothing. By contrast, her half-sister has a flat figure, and is a temperamental and insecure girl who dresses conservatively (At least by the standards of the series).
  • Elegant Gothic Lolita: In Kagura. Saki now sports some gothilicious dress as part of her killing routine. Note that this hasn't diluted her badassery even for one bit.
  • Extremity Extremist: When switching to her gauntlets, she uses nothing but punches or grapples.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Saki's the red to Aya and Saaya, and blue in comparison to Kagura.
  • Sailor Fuku: Her original outfit, until Z came in.
  • Shoryuken: She and Saaya has this as part of a combo to launch an enemy in the air.
  • Tsundere: Type A, especially in Zombie Hunters.
  • Twin Tails: At the back of her head.
  • Wrestlerin All Of Us: Saki has an expansive repertoire of grappling moves.

    Annna

Voiced by: Kazusa Amagai (Japanese), Julie Ann Taylor (English)

A female member of the ZPF: a special force unit created to combat zombies. Annna is especially skilled with firearms. She guns down any and all undead stupid enough to stand in her way.

  • My Nayme Is: Annna or Anna, depending on which game and which localization you see her in.
  • Small Girl, Big Gun: Some weapons in Special are bigger than her.

    Kagura

Voiced by: Miyuki Sawashiro (Japanese), Amanda Miller (English)

The older of the half-vampire sister duo. Kaguara is the hotheaded of the two, and always has the insatiable desire to fight strong foes. Their father was the head of a Vampiric Clan, and both are half-sisters.

  • Ass Kicking Pose: Kagura loves doing these, with some hilariously cheesy Engrish thrown in. The final one however, does come off really badass.
  • Expy: Arguably of Dante from Devil May Cry. Specifically, the DMC3 iteration. Young, snarky, rude, cocky, loves to show off, and taunting their enemies. The similarities are uncanny.
  • Fluffy Fashion Feathers: Kagura's outfit is very similar to Aya's, although she doesn't really need a boa due to her awesome hair.
  • Fur Bikini: Simlar to Aya.
  • Precision-Guided Boomerang: Odin, her sub-weapon. Kagura's Exceed is a boomerang blade that can keep an enemy stunned in place.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Well since she is Aya's countepart in Z, she provides this to her game as well.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Aya, Saki (in comparison), and Saaya.
  • Stripperiffic: One of her traits for being a counterpart of Aya.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: To Aya in Z: Kagura. It's subverted though in that she has a very cocky attitude and fights differently from her.
  • Whip Sword: Kagura uses an elastic rope dart-like variant consisting of two knives with long ribbons tied to the handles called Hydra Blade.

    Saaya

Voiced by: Miyuki Sawashiro (Japanese), Shelby Lindley (English)

The youngest of the duo, Saaya is the calmest and most level headed. She is something of a pacifist and prefers not to show off, unlike her older sister.

  • Chainsaw Good: Wields a chainsaw named "Jason". Her ultimate version of it combines it with a V8 engine.
  • Epic Flail: The misleadingly-named Morning Star, Saaya's special weapon, is actually a heavy flail. Rather good for crowd control, but not as effective as Kagura's Hydra Blade, and doesn't have combo abilities.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: Also, her second fighting style, like Saki.
  • Kick Chick: Compared to Saki, Saaya incorporates more kicks in to her punch attacks.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Kagura and Saki.
  • Shoryuken: She and Saki has this as part of a combo to launch an enemy in the air.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: To Saki in Z: Kagura. It's subverted in that Saaya has a somewhat shy and calmer demeanor.
  • Wrestlerin All Of Us: She wields a deadly clothesline attack and has some mean grapples. Though her grapple repertoire is not as huge as Saki's.

Antagonists

    Misery
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/misery_bzs.jpg
Misery in Zombie Slayers

A descendant of the same Baneful Bloodline as Aya and Saki. She joined The Organization and its Baneful Blood research due to shared interests.

  • Ax-Crazy: Judging from how she speaks to the other characters, as well as her tendency to laugh while killing zombies in-game.
  • Psycho Lesbian: The "Lesbian" part is at least hinted. Especially in her conversation with Saki in the latter's storyline.
  • The Un Twist: It's pretty obvious that Misha is Misery.
  • Whip Sword: Her alternate stance has her sword transform into this, allowing a variety of attacks that hit multiple enemies at once.

    Reiko
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/reiko_bzs.jpg
Reiko in Zombie Slayers
Reiko in Onechanbara Origin

One of the Single Digit Clones of the original Reiko who performed experiments on the Baneful Blood.

  • Sword and Gun: Reiko can switch between a regular sword and either a shotgun or SMG.
  • Long-Range Fighter: Being able to fight using guns in her second stance.

    Himiko
The main antagonist of Vortex and Special.

    Eva
The main antagonist of Zombie Hunters 2, she turns out to not be so evil by the end though.
  • Bury Your Gays: Averted, Eva is one of few characters that never flirted with any female character.
  • Eaten Alive: By Reiko in Onechanbara 2.
  • Whip Sword: Her weapon, before Misery later gets to use it as her own.
