Heroines

    Koharu

Koharu

Voiced by: Ayumi Fujimura (Japanese)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/koharu_01.jpg

One of the three Heroines in the series. She is also one of the members of the Norn ship.

  • All of the Other Reindeer: She was isolated for her powers.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: She is an odd duck, mostly thanks to having been alone for so long and from such a young age that she doesn't have much frame of reference for how people normally behave. Before she remembers her name, Sorata mentally dubs her "Ms. Weirdo."
  • Curtains Match the Window: Pink hair and pink eyes.
  • Hair Decorations: An old-fashioned hairpin decorates her hair.
  • Loss of Identity: She was ostracised so completely from other people because of her powers that she's forgotten what she was even named. "Koharu" is a name given to her by the same traveler who told her to expect the Norn, and she's even forgotten that by the time the ship arrives.
  • Nice Girl: Easily one of the nicest characters in the series.
  • Only One Name: She doesn't even have a real name, as Koharu was how the traveller who invited her to the Norn called her.
  • Playing with Fire: She is able to control flames. Out of all of her peers, her ability is extremely powerful - on Senri's route, it's noted that unlike every other esper, she's not fatigued at all by using her power.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: Her hair is pink and she's easily the kindest female character in the game.

    Mikoto Kuga

Mikoto Kuga

Voiced by: Ayahi Takagaki (Japanese)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mikoto_02.jpg

The oldest of the three heroines. She is also one of the members of the Norn ship.

  • Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: She has long black hair and is calm and mature.
  • Barrier Maiden: Her power is to create barriers of any shape or size that she can imagine. Her barriers range from big enough to almost completely enclose the Norn itself, to small enough to destroy a gun from the inside, and are impenetrable for as long as her energy and willpower hold out.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: If she pursues Sakuya.
  • Hime Cut: Given that she is an Ojou, she wears her hair this way.
  • Ojou: She was born into a noble family and was raised by those around her with great care. Because of this, she can be high-handed.
  • Terrible Artist: She is bad at drawing, as shown in Natsuhiko's route. This causes people to get confused about her drawing, with the only exception is Sakuya.
  • Tsundere: Type A.

    Nanami Shiranui

Nanami Shiranui

Voiced by: Asami Seto (Japanese)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nanami_01.jpg

The youngest of the three heroines. She is a very talented ninja and a member of the Norn ship.

  • Abusive Parents: Her father clearly seemed to only care about how to make use of her powers more than Nanami herself.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: with Ron if she pursues him.
  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: with Akito if she pursues him.
  • Emotionless Girl: Her usual expression is a blank look or a frown on her face.
  • Heroes Want Redheads: If she pursues Heishi.
  • Insecure Love Interest: Towards Akito if she pursues him. Despite reciprocating his feelings, she still feels that she deserves nothing but hatred due to erasing Senri's memories of him. She gets better.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: She has the power to erase people's memories. When she was younger, she had been ordered to erase other people's memories in the name of erasing pain, sadness and suffering. However, she resents her ability and is afraid of it.
  • Ninja: She is a talented one at that and has great physical abilities. This is because her family descends from a long line of ninja, dating back to very old times.
  • Like Brother and Sister: With Itsuki and Heishi, though the relationship with the latter can change if his route is chosen.
  • Rei Ayanami Expy: Has light-purple bobbed hair, quiet and reserved, is submissive to her father, and has a magic ability to erase memories.
  • The Stoic: Seemingly at first, unless you choose to play as her.
  • Stealth Expert: She very good at erasing her presence which is the reason why she is not often noticed. This ability makes her the perfect ninja to hire for tailing someone or collecting information.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Shown in all of her playable routes. She's usually reserved and emotionless, but she has a kind side to her as well.
  • ¡Three Amigos!: Together with Heishi and Itsuki.
  • You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Her hair seems to be the color of lilac, which is described to be light purple.

Koharu's Target Group

    Kakeru Yuiga

Kakeru Yuiga

Voiced by: Yūki Kaji (Japanese)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kakeru_3.jpg

One of the men in Koharu's target group.

  • The Gadfly: He likes to tease Koharu but she innocently accepts the jokes he throws at her which sometimes causes him to feel a sense of guilt.
  • Green Thumb: He has the ability to control and summon greenery. He is able to make any plant, flower, or tree grow at his command.
  • Manchurian Agent: He has been unwittingly brainwashed by his father, who wants to use esper powers (particularly Koharu's) for his own benefit.
  • The Strategist: Some of the crew members think of him as a great tactician.
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: He is introduced as a bright and gentle young lad. But he is actually a sadist, as proven when he treats Senri like his ‘toy’.

    Senri Ichinose

Senri Ichinose

Voiced by: Hiro Shimono (Japanese)

Another of the main characters in Koharu's target group.

  • The Cynic: He's a pessimistic boy who distrustful of others due to how he was treated in the past.
  • Defrosting Ice King: If Koharu pursues him.
  • Hikikomori: He always holes up in his room for days.
  • Ill Boy: Moreso when he was younger before Akito took half of his power due to the strain his power places on him. In the present day, using his weak and dull power even a little leaves him completely exhausted.
  • Long-Lost Relative: Akito is actually his older brother. Nanami erased Senri's memories of him several years earlier.
  • Making a Splash: He has the ability to control water. In the past, he was used for the irrigation system in his village because of this ability. However, it is now weak and dull because Akito had absorbed half of it to prevent him from suffering any further.
  • No Social Skills: Given since he always secludes himself in his room.
  • Shrinking Violet: Acts very shy and scared when interacting with others.

    Masamune Tōya

Masamune Tōya

Voiced by: Takuya Sato (Japanese)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/masamune.jpg

The oldest of the main characters in Koharu's target group.

  • Big Brother Mentor: It even gets lampshaded on his route.
  • Drunk on Milk: His's body treats sugar like alcohol. He's fine with it in small doses, but things like sweets get him hammered.
  • Psychic Powers: His ability is a human version Psychometry. He is able to look into someone's past just by touching them with his right arm.
  • Team Dad: He is one of the oldest people on the ship. He's also more responsible than Itsuki and Ron, so he's in charge most of the time.

Voiced by: Mitsuki Saiga (Japanese)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sakuya_3.jpg

Another of the men in Mikoto's target group. He is also her childhood friend.

  • Celibate Hero: Not entirely by choice. He received a premonition that he would one day die for the woman he loved. He personally was fine with it, but Mikoto was so upset that he promised he wouldn't fall in love with anyone so it wouldn't happen.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: If Mikoto pursues him.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: He has known from a young age that he would one day die for the woman he loves. This trope is subverted in his good ending, but played straight in his bad ending.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: He has long silver hair tied into a ponytail.
  • Prince Charming: He’s a perfect gentleman whenever a lady is present; however, Nanami states that he is only kind and gentle towards Mikoto. He even plays Prince Charming in the Cinderella dream.
  • Psychic Powers: Precognition. He has the ability to see the future, though he cannot use it as he wishes.

    Itsuki Kagami

Itsuki Kagami

Another one of the men in Mikoto's target group.

  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: with Mikoto is she pursues him.

  • Handsome Lech: Flirty and good-looking.
  • Like Brother and Sister: Him and Nanami as he refers himself as a 'Onii-chan' towards her.

Born as Akito Ichinose, he is one of the men in Nanami's target group.

  • Aloof Big Brother: Towards Senri. Depending on the dialogue choices, Senri's memories are erased again by Nanami, but Akito actually insisted it because he felt that there was nothing else he could for him.
  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: With Nanami if she pursues him.
  • Defrosting Ice King: In his route, it's revealed that he acts cold towards Nanami due to her erasing Senri's memories of him several years earlier. Later, he gradually becomes nicer towards her after spending time together and eventually falls for her.
  • Insecure Love Interest: Around the end of his route, it's revealed that he felt guilty for misjudging Nanami before he got to know her and thought that she shouldn't love him because of that.

  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: with Nanami if she pursues him.
  • Electronic Eye: His route reveals that one of his eyes is cybernetic because his natural vision has almost completely failed. Natsuhiko made the eye for him in return for his help sabotaging the Norn's journey, with the promise of another after the job is done.
  • Eye Scream: At the end of his route, he pulls out his own cybernetic eye and destroys it so that he will no longer be bound by his agreement with Natsuhiko.

  • Genki Guy: Energetic and friendly, he can be considered the mood maker of the team.
  • Lethal Chef: He and Nanami are bad enough at cooking individually, but put them together...
  • Like Brother and Sister: If his route is not pursued, his relationship with Nanami is basically this.
  • Nice Guy: One of the nicest characters in the series besides Koharu.
  • Telepathy: His ability, although it is very unstable, as his thoughts and feelings often leak out.
  • ¡Three Amigos!: With Nanami and Itsuki.
  • Yandere: In the bad ending of his route, he cracks under the emotional strain of being on the run from The World, trying to "protect" Nanami from having to use her power, and feeling that Nanami doesn't trust him. He half strangles Nanami at one point before realizing that he's hurting her, and seems prepared to kill Itsuki and Akito with a black-market gun.
