  • Flower Motif: The pink camellia.
  • The High Queen: Unlike her canon counterpart, Ami has taken on the title as queen.
  • The Leader: Pretty obvious since she's the monarch.
  • Mama Bear: She is this to her granddaughter Princess Megumi.
  • Modest Royalty: Ami is known to have become increasingly modest as her kingdom modernises itself.

Queen Ami's twin sister.

  • Characterization Marches On: Eva was originally a quite one-dimensional antagonist in the show. However, in this AU it was stated that she was possessed by an "impostor demon", though there were some redeeming factors thrown in during her villainous phase. She was eventually reformed thanks to Amaterasu.
  • Flower Motif: The wisteria. note
  • Goth: Eva has a liking for dark and muted accessories and outfits, as shown by some of her anthro concept art.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Originally the main antagonist of the canon show, in this AU Emi got reformed after an exorcism performed by Amaterasu.
  • Modest Royalty: Eva never wears anything more over-the-top than a simple gold headband she occasionally wears.
  • Perky Goth: She classifies as this now that she is devoid of malice.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Now this is going to be a trend in Pocketville's Nihonverse.
  • The Stoic: Eva doesn't often show emotion and acts very proper like the usual noblewoman, but there are some instances where she does, especially when she’s afraid.

    Princess Chouko, Mioko, and Sakiko
The three daughters of Queen Ami and King Minato.

    Princess Megumi Omori

Japanese: 惠王女 Megumi Ōjo

One of Queen Ava's grandchildren and second in line to the Sakura Throne. She is Princess Chouko and Prince Sosuke’s only child.
  • The Cutie: Out of all tenneko, she takes the cake as being a total cinnamon roll.

The Shin-Onmyou Clergy

  • Miko: Many female members of the religion are based on Shinto shrine maidens.

    Amaterasu Shinomiya

Japanese: 篠宮天照 Shinomiya Amaterasu

Antlered Guild

  • The Cutie: She’s an adorable, childlike, huggable little corgi!
  • The Ditz: She’s incredibly quirky, sometimes talking pretty quickly. She would often ask quick questions to other Onmyoujin, much to Eva’s dismay.

Otherworlders

    In general
  • Muggles: Some of them come without magic or experience in magic until they get their hands on a heartstone.

    Kyuubi Emiko/Queen Elaine

The otherworldly folklorist (specifically the Seventh Folklorist) of Onmyou who resides in London, England, and is one of the few Otherworlders who have experience in magic.

  • Asian Fox Spirit: Is an anthropomorphic six-tails.
  • Bespectacled Cutie: She’s a kitsune who wears glasses.
  • But Not Too Foreign: Is British (technically half-Japanese) but has a Japanese name just like the majority of the Onmyoujin. Turns out Emiko was just her middle name.
  • Classy Cane: Carries a walking stick made of an ambiguous golden metal which shows she is both a noble and has an injured knee. It can also turn into a katana.
  • Cool Old Lady: She's described as being very old with grandchildren of her own but at the same time she proved to be helpful to the Queendom of Onmyou by being an ally and folklorist for their customs. She even has a heartstone of her own.
  • In-Series Nickname: "The Folklorist"
  • Meaningful Name: "Kyuubi" means "nine tails" in Japanese. She happens to be an anthropomorphic kitsune with nine tails. "Emiko" means "blessed child" and could be related to her status as royal.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: She looks a bit like Elizabeth II.
  • Psychic Powers: Has an incredibly powerful sixth sense, as mentioned by Ava.
  • Queen Incognito: Downplayed. Some Onmyoujin like Ava and Eva know she’s a monarch, but to the commoners, she just looks like a normal journalist.
  • Royal Blood: She's a member of a very familiar royal family, though it was never specified what title and position she has…yet. In Chapter 30 it has been revealed that she was in fact Queen Elaine.
  • Sword Cane: Her walking stick can transform into a katana at her will, which has a shiny prism-like blade that is meant to also inflict damage on ghosts.

The main protagonist of Pocketville Twilight.

    Queen Lilie
Secondary main protagonist of Twilight. She is Malorie's grandmother and Hana's adoptive parent. She was also one of Ami and Emi's childhood friends.
  • Cool Old Lady: She even fought off Hairo and Sakuya/Shiranui just to protect her granddaughter Malorie with a katana!

Queen Masuyo's daughter.

Spirits Outside Onmyou

    Moon Queen (UNMARKED SPOILERS

A lunar angel who creates and visits dreams. She is the spirit of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who was also the Sixth Folklorist, preceding Rokubi Emiko.

  • Beethoven Was an Alien Spy: Who knew the late Queen Elizabeth II became a folklorist for Onmyou and visited other dimensions?
  • Ethereal White Dress: She wears a white kimono folded right over left with very long sleeves, signifying that she is a deceased spirit.
  • Gold and White Are Divine: Wears a white kimono with golden cloud patterns and gold accessories.
  • Healthy in Heaven: She regains all of her youth once deified except for her white hair.
  • Holy Halo: Has a glowing golden halo that depicts the phases of the moon.
  • In-Series Nickname: The Moon Queen.
  • Lunacy: She has supernatural powers based on the moon, as she is a lunar anngel after all.
  • Mystical White Hair: Though she has white hair mainly because she's Queen Elizabeth herself, she also has the magical powers of a lunar angel.
  • Our Angels Are Different: She’s an angel with powers connected to the moon, has two pairs of feathered ears, six wings, and paws for feet.
  • Voice of the Legion: Her voice is described to have such a reverb to it, mainly because of her divine status, and occasionally to sound like several voices speaking at once.
  • Walking Spoiler: It would be difficult to discuss a lot about this character without giving a lot out.
  • Winged Humanoid: Being an angel, that’s to be expected.

Antagonists

Queen Masuyo (UNMARKED SPOILERS for Twilight

Japanese: 益世女王 / 桜森益世 Masuyo Joō / Ōmori Masuyo

One of Ami's ancestors and predecessors as Queen of Eastern Onmyou.
  • Abusive Parents: Is known to be very cold towards her daughters Mayu and Kanon, barely giving them any love and sometimes even lashing out at them.
  • Alcoholic Parent: Mentioned by both Emi and in Princess Mayu's letter that she had a drinking problem that was caused by stress she could not handle. She did not treat her daughter in the same way now that she was hooked on sake.
  • Ancient Evil: A monarch who had long since passed, she is a vengeful spirit who seeks her revenge on the current Omori Family.
  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Averted, unfortunately. It has been mentioned a few times that Masuyo was once beautiful, though both her appearance after she started drinking and her miasmic spirit form show otherwise.
  • Big Bad: Of Twilight. She was the one who took the disguise of Sakuya and Shiranui and formed Hairo, spirits whom Noroi summoned to collect the Star Blossoms for the ritual of the three stars. Little did Noroi know she actually summoned Masuyo herself.
  • The Caligula: As close as Onmyou gets to one. Her daughter Mayu describes in her letter to her that she had been abusing her powers in such a reckless way due to her drinking problem.
  • Cats Are Mean: Of course, being born into the Omori dynasty and not being so nice to her family, especially towards her daughters.
  • Dark Is Evil: Wears dark red accessories, and in gijinka form wears either a dark red or black kimono.
  • Even Bad Women Love Their Mamas: She used to be very close to her mother Kiyoko, which could be a reason why her mother's death made a huge impact on her.
  • Evil Laugh: Her maniacal laugh is described as being screechy and ear-splitting.
    • Pulls off one as she chased Emi down in a dream.
  • Ghastly Ghost: What she takes the form of in the chapters leading up to the end in Twilight.
  • Giggling Villain: At times when she's not letting out deafening cackles.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: She became a downright ruthless monarch due to her compulsory drinking, which was due to overwhelming stress after a failed Shinnui Ceremony. Becomes even more so after her death when her ghost becomes tainted by miasma.
  • Good Princess, Evil Queen: Though she wasn't really that "evil" back when she was alive, just a lot more stressed out and unpredictable due to her drinking and pressure, she is a part of that dynamic with her daughter Mayu, a benevolent princess who eventually became a queen of her own.
  • Lady Drunk: An uncommon non-human example.
  • Laughing Mad: Due to the miasma ruining her spirit so much to where she turns out erratic, she is often heard having laughing fits.
  • Off with His Head!: How she died. As a result her ghost presents with a detached head, which she can move up to 360 degrees around.
  • One-Winged Angel: In the final chapter, she transforms into a demonic version of her gijinka form with Extra Eyes, Hellish Pupils, and extra limbs, and much later, an amalgamation of herself and a giant demonic centipede. Though this was because of her fusion with the demon Maramono.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner: To Noroi, before delivering a lethal bite to her throat after she successfully nabs the last Star Blossom from her.
    Masuyo: Now’s my chance.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: She shows shades of some of them such as Greed (taxing her subjects so much to the point of starvation), Wrath (gets very furious whenever Mayu, other family members, or even servants do something wrong or break a rule, even taking it to where she throws them into the dungeon or threatens to cut their heads off), and Sloth (having her servants do all the work for her), but the sin she commits the most is Pride, putting herself before all others, which didn't end up well for her.

    Princess Shun

Japanese: 俊王女

Queen Masuyo's sister and aunt of Queen Mayu.
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: Shows this really well. All she cares about is her family having so much power over the other Onmyoujin.
  • Cats Are Mean: She's just like her sister, if not much worse.
  • Light Is Not Good: In a flashback scene, she is seen wearing a white collar and a lily of the valley hairpin.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: Represents Pride, as she is very selfish, caring much more about her family and herself and puts her family above all others.

    Noroi Shirohi/Airi

Japanese: 白氷呪 Shirohi Noroi

A black-and-white bakeneko who is a decoy antagonist of Twilight and one of the last remaining Shirohi family members. She is often accompanied by her avian sidekick Yami.
  • Almost Dead Guy: After Demon Masuyo attacks her and then bites her on the throat to the point she tears flesh off and before dying from her wounds, she tells Queen Ami that she thought of herself as a burden to everyone else which explained her initial rude behavior and why she called herself Noroi in the first place, and that her real name was Airi.
  • Cats Are Mean: She's inherently rude towards other Onmyoujin.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: At first she seems like the main antagonist of Twilight as she led her accomplices to try and snatch the Star Blossoms before Malorie and her friends do, but turns out in Chapter 29 she actually did not want to be the bad guy in the first place. She just wanted somebody to help her get the Star Blossoms so she could use them in a ritual of her own to stop the miasma from spreading any further, but ended up summoning the wrong beings.
  • Jerkass: She's incredibly rude to many Onmyoujin, especially towards the royals or Otherworlders. She eventually softens as the chapters go by.

    Yami

Japanese: 闇 Yami

A tengu resembling a great-tailed grackle. He is Noroi's sidekick.

    Hairo

Japanese: 灰色 Haīro

A Yomi-bound bakeneko who was one of the secondary antagonists of Twilight.
  • Cats Are Mean: Another devious feline he is.
  • Jerkass: And he finds fun in being one. He scares off a family of snakes in the Ever Grey Swamp and he unleashes a pack of eibake onto Malorie and her friends when they were arriving at Tachibana Manor.
  • Slashed Throat: How he dies. Or rather, impaled through the throat by Lilie's katana during the skirmish at Kinyuri Field.

    Eibake
Eibake are tiny shadow-like creatures with all-black pelts and varying eyes.
  • Mook: Pretty much exist to be this.
