- Affably Evil: They are very good people ... who works for Satan.
- Anti-Villain: They only make bad deeds because either it's their job or others started it first.
- Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: They sometimes have arguments but they all one big happy family.
- Beware the Silly Ones: They're quite eccentric ... demons from Hell with many superpowers and combat and torture experience.
- Jerks With The Hearts Of Gold: They all a little jerkish but they all good ... creatures.
- Good Parents: Balthazor, Tina and Vlaartark love Mandy and Josh and want only the best for them. They're very protective of them and the only adults who aren't useless in this show.
- Only Sane Family: They're maybe from Hell, but they actually the smartest and sanest characters in the show.
Balthazor Hellman
- Beware the Nice Ones: Overall a Nice Guy, but he does have a sadistic side, nearly drowning Zebulon for insulting his father.
- Catchphrase: "I love you guys!!" at the end of each episode.
- Guilty Pleasure: He loves watching television, which is forbidden in hell.
- Happily Married: To Tina. He even stated that his marriage was more precious to him than getting approval from a EPA executive who is quite lustful.
- Noble Demon: Despite being a torturer from hell, he really is a nice guy.
- Only Sane by Comparison: Balthazor is not smarter than the average cartoon dad, has Manchild tendencies, and despite being a Nice Guy, he's still a demon and won't hesitate in doing questionable stuff if it means getting closer to clearing the mission. But other than that, he's the only one that actively tries to keep the family from getting into trouble.
- Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: He's not repulsive, but his wife is Hot as Hell.
Tina Hellman
- Action Mom: She had a catfight with the EPA women who attempted to seduce her husband.
- The Alcoholic: She is rarely seen without an alcoholic drink in her hand.

Mandy Hellman
- Cute Monster Girl: She's a devil, but otherwise looks attractive.
- Even Evil Has Standards: She broke up with Killbride's son, because she was repulsed by how he'd torment the unpopular kids and cripples.
- Strong Family Resemblance: She looks like her mother. Even lampshaded by Satan.
- The Ugly Guy's Hot Daughter: She definitely didn't get her looks from her father.
Josh Hellman
- Annoying Younger Sibling: One of the things he does is enjoy pestering Mandy.
- Hidden Depths: He can communicate with animals.
- Strong Family Resemblance: He resembles his father more.
- The Dog Bites Back: He rejected a girl after she was being a bitch to him. He told her that she needed to be taught a lesson about respecting others, and he found a girl with bigger tits.
