    General
Tropes that apply to the cast as a group.
  • Balanced Harem: Each member of the cast has their own dedicated story chapter and intimacy scenes tied to their cards, meaning that every character gets the same amount of plot-relevance. Averted in the case of story events, however, which focus more on the event SSR's.
  • Cast Full of Pretty Boys: Everyone is drop dead gorgeous in some way.
  • Clingy MacGuffin: The gemstones worn on the clan members cannot come off their bodies; trying to remove them is physically painful to do. Actually taking them off would severely cripple the part it's attached to, if not destroy its functionality completely.
  • Clothing Damage: When the clan members take enough damage, their clothing tears off with some of them being notably aroused by it.
  • Costume Porn: A lot of the SSR cards have the men dressed up in very ornate outfits, it's also stated that Eiden designed or picked some of the outfits himself.
  • Dysfunction Junction: Almost everyone has some level of emotional baggage and only have each other to lean on, from crappy childhoods to being soul-crushingly bored with life.
  • Intimate Healing: Eiden and the other clansmen can replenish each other's essence through.... very intimate contact.
  • Magical Accessory: All of the characters wear a jewel (or in some cases, born with their gemstone embedded into them) that gives them their power.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Everyone is very sexy and are subjectable to Clothing Damage and getting naked, even our protagonist, Eiden.
  • Power at a Price: The members of the Gemstone Clan have a binding contract to Huey; they have a part of Huey's power, but offered a part of themselves in order to have it, represented by the gems embedded on their being (Yakumo and Rei's ear cuff, Edmond and Quincy's hand chain, Kuya and Dante's eyes, etc.). Should their contract break, they'll lose the use of wherever their gem is bound to.
  • Seme/Uke: The cast is divided half-and-half between who tops or bottoms Eiden in H-scenes. For seme-characters, there's Yakumo, Quincy, Blade, Kuya, and Dante. The uke characters are Olivine, Edmond, Garu/Karu, and Rei. Eiden, so far, is the only one who switches roles depending on his partner.
  • Undying Loyalty: Once the others join the clan, they're this towards Eiden.

Player Character

    Eiden
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nuc_eiden.png
Voiced by: Netoru Irakusa

"Replenish your essence levels by having sex!? So awesome...*cough* I mean unusual!"

A young sex-toy designer who happens upon a mysterious gem that transports him to the world of Klein, with the clansmen who he takes under his wing calling him Huey's descendant.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Blade strictly refers to him as "darling" after Eiden asks for him to stop referring to him as Huey.
  • Audience Surrogate: Is this for the players.
  • Badass Normal: He's the only human in the cast with none too boastful combative skills compared to his clan members. However, he's able to regulate the crystals that keep each territory in balance, a skill only he possesses.
  • Berserk Button: Looking down on orphan children, something Eiden takes very personally as an orphan himself. This occurs when Dante refuses to back down on his decision to punish a child for stealing, citing that the law doesn't care for people's ages. His words start to anger Eiden to the point that Eiden attempts to punch Dante in the face.
Dante: And if he's an orphan, then all the more reason he needs to be "educated".
Eiden: Hah, I knew it! Arrogant, noble types like you.... living in fancy houses and ordering around servants all day long— How could you understand those without any family... with no one to rely on... helplessly trying to survive all alone!
  • Big Eater: He can consume a lot of food, most of it stemming through him being taught at the orphanage not to waste food.
  • Blue Is Heroic: He's the main character of the story and wears light blue colors.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: He acted this way when he was a kid, mostly as a form of protection due to his fear of being left alone.
  • Code Name: Has one with Yakumo and Garu during Eerie Escapade, his being Mr. Pampo (the Klein equivalent of a pumpkin).
  • Conveniently an Orphan: He reveals that he actually grew up in an orphanage, and never knew his real parents.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Despite his cheerful demeanor, Eiden's internal narrative occasionally reveals a lonely man still damaged by the harshness of his childhood as an orphan. He also longs for family love and is visibly jealous of Yakumo's relationship with his grandparents. See Big Eater and I Choose to Stay as well.
  • Deus Sex Machina: Usually has sex with a clan member they're trying to recruit by the end of the chapter. It also helps them regulate the essence to their magic and fighting capability.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: There are multiple times throughout the story where Eiden will stop listening to what his clansmen are talking about, simply because he's busy admiring their bodies or thinking about when they'll get some alone time for sex.
  • Don't Call Me "Sir": He tries to get some of his clan members to not call him "master", to no avail. After a while, he ends up giving up on it.
  • Dude Magnet: While it is a Cast Full of Gay, every clan member he meets is inexplicably attracted to him.
  • Dub Name Change: In the original Chinese version, his name is "Yīdé", while the Japanese version (which the voiced dialogue is based on) lists his name as "Eito."
  • Eating the Eye Candy: Even he can get a bit distracted by the sexy and beautiful men around him and sometimes forgets about their conversation.
  • Friend to All Children: Seeing as he grew up in an orphanage, Eiden seems to have a bit of a soft spot for children, especially if they're orphans. When a child in Solaria threatens to rob him, he plays along as Blade gives the kid an armful of money.
  • Giver of Lame Names: Tried to name Topper Twilight Star-Show Max Lucifer Topper III, which Quincy quietly refused. He even tried naming some attack spells he hoped he could use after transmigrating that were equally long. This comes back in Eerie Escapade when he tries to give himself the code name Panpoloyakulades: The Shining Cross of the Pomisaras Peninsula. Funnily enough, he doesn’t think very highly of the Beauty Bros’ full name Unforgivable Crime of Unparalleled Beauty in Idol Fest, thinking it a lame name and snarking that it’s too long.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Despite being bestowed the title of Grand Sorcerer after Huey, he doesn't feel worthy of the title at all, being the one ordinary guy of his group. He constantly worries about everyone else because they're going out of their way to help, when he's powerless do anything; something that resonates with Yakumo, despite being able to do more than Eiden. It comes up again Army Blood Oath, where he ends up leaving Blade behind so he and Garu can escape with their lives, despite being the designated commander. Garu assures him that he's thankful for being so considerate, and tells him to just believe in him and Blade.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite being mainly a designer for sex toys, Eiden is very good at designing clothes as well. He specifically tailored outfits to suit Olivine, Yakumo and Blade during the Idol event, with each reflecting the other clansmen style and personality well. Classy Affair reveals he also knows breakdance and jazz dancing, but unfortunately that kind of skill doesn't help him when he's supposed to behave all prim and proper.
  • Hot for Preacher: Towards Olivine.
  • I Choose to Stay: Kuya's illusion reveals that Eiden doesn't really want to return to his original world, and he was lying in saying otherwise. While Eiden owns up to his lie after the illusion is taken away, he admits he doesn't have anything else back home. Eiden even says as much during the Klein Star event.
Eiden: Even if I can't make it back to my world, I'm happy here.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved:
    • Eiden was lonely as an orphan child, and when interacting with the other clansmen, there are hints that he was still incredibly alone even as an adult. It's due to his upbringing that he seems to crave the affection of others, or at the very least, someone who genuinely loves him. This is why Kuya points out Eiden doesn't actually wish to return to his world, with Eiden admitting there's nothing for him if he went back.
    • The Klein Star event delves into his childhood, revealing his friends left him behind when they got adopted out, making him feel abandoned and resentful because of it. During the Illusion battles, the stuffed toy enemies point out Eiden's fear of abandonment and how he acts cold and harsh to push people away. Child Eiden reacts by screaming out in frustration and attacking the toys.
  • Insult of Endearment: Kuya referring to him as "young master" has a certain sting to it instead of it being respectful. Edmond refers to him as "scoundrel" or "fraudulent sorcerer", and Quincy refers to him as the "little devil".
  • Lethal Chef: In Yakumo's SR story, Eiden tries to cook some cream stew for Yakumo. The end result is "chargrilled" looking stew. Yakumo claims the stew is delicious, but one bite has Eiden faint on the spot.
  • Limited Wardrobe: While every other character in the game has different outfits attached to their respective cards, Eiden is only ever depicted wearing the outfit shown in his profile image. He does, however, get a new outfit for events, whether it's out of necessity (e.g. A disguise for the Yokai Banquet) or getting in the spirit of festivals in Klein.
  • Loser Protagonist: From what we learn through the stories about his past, his life back on his homeworld wasn't great. He lived in an orphanage and didn't know his parents, he worked for a sex toy company and didn't appear to be too fond of his job, and a hot guy gave him chocolates to pass on to his friend on White Day. This is partially the reason he doesn't care about going back to his homeworld, as he admits that there's nothing for him back there.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: He loves sex and doesn't pass up the opportunity to sleep with every new recruit to his harem. Despite this, he's a fairly decent guy who is surprisingly considerate of the feelings of each clan member he meets. He also goes out of his way to establish relationships with them beyond just sexual ones.
  • Morality Pet: To Yakumo. Yakumo easily gives into his negative emotions if Eiden is in danger and can become incredibly dangerous to those around him. This happened during the White Day event and after Eiden gets rescued by Blade after being knocked out.
  • Motor Mouth: He tends to talk a lot, which often annoys Quincy.
  • Never Learned to Read: Downplayed. He can read the written script of Klein to some extent thanks to Olivine's tutoring, but he struggles to read jargon-heavy books without a dictionary. In the intimacy room and event stories that take place later in the timeline, he is seen to be reading fictional novels quite easily.
  • New Life in Another World Bonus: He thinks this would happen when he got whisked away to Klein, but alas, what little powers he got was the ability to regulate essence. Other than that, he's just as ordinary as he was back home.
  • Nice Guy: As noted under Loveable Sex Maniac, he's not actually a bad person despite having sex on the brain a majority of the time. He actually wants to help out the people around him, including his clansmen.
  • Not Cheating Unless You Get Caught: How he manages to trick Kuya into joining the clan by using the cards Kuya had collected from his world against him. During their H-Scene after the game, Kuya roughly demands Eiden tell him how he cheated, with Eiden saying this line word for word.
  • Non-Action Guy: The clan members usually do all the fighting while he is in charge of regulating their essences. Kuya uses this as a means of insulting Eiden when he and the other clansmen run into the youkai. Justified in that being transmigrated into Klein didn't give him any sort of special combative abilities or magical powers, meaning that he couldn't be much help in battle even if he wanted to be.
  • Promoted to Playable: Eiden becomes a party member, albeit for the Silver Miracle event, with his Galactic Mist form. Being the Non-Action Guy he is, though, his first unit is a Support-type member.
  • Protagonist Without a Past: Averted Trope. His backstory is actually very detailed for a gacha game, which usually favour keeping their protagonists as undetailed as possible. He grew up in an orphanage after mysteriously losing his parents as a baby, where he endured much neglect which didn't quite reach Orphanage of Fear levels, but left him with emotional issues that occasionally pop up in the story. As an adult, he became a sex toy designer and had a string of relationships, but none worked out and he is unhappily single at the start of the story.
  • Really Gets Around: Even before he transmigrated into Klein, it's implied he slept with plenty of other guys before meeting the clansmen. He even tells Yakumo that he once slept with his neighbor during White Day.
  • Screw Yourself: The second and fifth intimacy rooms on his Salacious ☆ King outfit involves himself getting it on with his Demon King self from his dream.
  • Skewed Priorities: In Episode 5 of Yakumo's White Day SSR, his first thought upon being forced up against onto a wall by Yakumo is that it's his first ever kabe-don.
  • Straight Gay: Has identified as gay since puberty, but lacks any campy mannerisms or interests.
  • The Tease: When having more intimate moments with the clans members, he has no problem playing this role for some of them and greatly enjoys it.
  • Trapped in Another World: He's transported to the world of Klein and doesn't know how to get back to his original world. It's revealed through Kuya's illusion that he doesn't mind, as he has nothing to return to if he were to go back.
  • Virtual Paper Doll: The Ver. 2 update allows Eiden to be added to the home screen, with customizable outfits based off of what he wore during the seasonal events.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Thought he would be able to use spells and magic when he transmigrated. He quickly found out he can't.

Clan Members

    Aster

Voiced by: Futo Kashiro

"Stop it, stop it, you're too kind~ I just wanted to get as much money and power as possible, no need to praise me so highly."

A familiar created by Huey around a hundred years ago, Aster has been mixing with the noble classes and amassing a great fortune for decades in order to allow Huey to operate freely within the kingdom.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: During chapter 10, Aster is floating nervously around Dante's palace worrying for Morvay's safe return. When Eiden tries to reassure the vampire his friend is fine, he notices Aster acting like a Tsundere.
  • Crutch Character: He's the first Striker character who joins you, and his DPS is serviceable for the early portions of the game, but he'll start to fall off later on unless you manage to raise his ascension levels through rolling extra copies of him.
  • Dub Name Change: His name is "Ester" in the Japanese version (which the voiced dialogue is based on).
  • Early-Bird Cameo: His SSR form made a brief appearance in Sunburst Fever prior to its official release, as a result of being exposed to Huey's essence stored in the Night Lantern.
  • Fake Memories: He has the ability to alter bits of memories, with him using this particular skill in covering up Yakumo's accidental rampage.
  • Fatal Flaw: His greed, where he's the main problem for the White Day event. In an effort to get the chocolate delivered sooner and cheaper so he could make the holiday a thing, he got cocoa that ended up turning the people who ate it into chocolate monsters. Yakumo and Edmond are quick to chew Aster out for trying to get things done cheaply since that ended up affecting Eiden.
  • Fiction 500: It is routinely pointed out that Aster is exceptionally wealthy, most likely as a result for a very pronounced greed that would give Mr. Krabs a run for his money. He has enough funds to routinely buy and develop very successfull businesses, has the means to bribe basically the entire Klein nobility into doing whatever he wishes, owns a gigantic mansion staffed with an army of personnel and, most tellingly, has enough money to cover the next few hundred years of this lavish lifestyle as stated by Morvay.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He may be a bit underhanded in his dealings, and seeing the other clansmen as nothing more than extra servants, but he does love and care for his pets. Especially his beast monster Momo, whom he dotes over and has Eiden help him seek out a mate for. He's also fairly observant of others, as he quickly picked up on Eiden giving all of them candy in their colors as possibly part of his birthday celebration. He’s also shown moments of genuinely caring about others, including worrying over Morvay going missing, rescuing Blade from the fake Eiden, and paying off damages in a village run over by monsters.
  • Insult of Endearment: Morvay calls him a "shitty-vampire", but the two do seem to get along in their weird way.
  • Meaningful Name: Asters are a kind of daisy that come in shades of pink and purple, fitting for someone with a pink colour palette.
  • Mr. Exposition: He's the one who guides Eiden around Klein continent as well as being the one who narrates the tutorials.
  • My Grandson, Myself: Pulls this once every few decades to avoid the general populace being suspicious of his lack of aging.
  • Older Alter Ego: Physically, at least, on his Scarlet Finesse form. He's able to achieve an older, stronger form when he feasts upon the Grand Sorcerer's essence. The problem is that it takes a non-insignificant amount of essence to achieve this, so he can't utilize this form too often. Both he and Morvay knocked Eiden out using his essence to transform.
  • Older Than They Look: He looks pretty young compared to most of the other clan members. However, while his exact age is never stated, he was a familiar created by Eiden's ancestor around a hundred years ago, likely making him significantly older than most of the characters in the cast save for Morvay.
  • Only in It for the Money: If there's some event going on, Aster will more often than not help out just to make more money. The main reason he wants to try and make White Day a thing in their world after Eiden talks about it? It would rake him in a huge sum of money. Idol Fest happening? He secretly invested in it for the subsequent profits. He's also privy to listening to what other clansmen talk about in order to see if it would make a nice money scheme.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: He can walk into the sunlight just fine, hardly ages and can turn into a bat.
  • Pink Is Feminine: His color palette revolves around a lot of red and pink, and he certainly acts more effeminate compared to the other love interests.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: His bat form is incredibly adorable.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: He's able to cover up or get away with a lot of things simply by bribing the lords and nobles.
  • Shapeshifting: Can transform from his vampire form to a cute little bat.
  • Squishy Wizard: His magic can hit pretty hard, but he'll be in real trouble when he's hit.
  • Starter Mon: His SR variant is the first card that the player starts off with.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: He and Morvay hate each other's guts, but they've both been loyally waiting for their master Huey's return.
  • The Twink: A slim physique, a youthful face, and his personality fits the "shallow and sexually promiscuous" variety.
  • Vampires Are Sex Gods: The game literally opens with Eiden having a threesome between him and Morvay, and he's no less skilled at sex and seduction than the clan's resident incubus.
  • Vampiric Draining: His special skill "Bloody Moon" evokes this, allowing him to heal himself based on how much damage the skill inflicts.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: While the two butt heads, Aster does genuinely care for Morvay. Morvay mentions in his birthday letter how Aster treated him well when they were younger and figures out that Aster likely helped Eiden make Morvay's birthday cake. They also gain stat boosts when they are in the same party.

    Morvay

Voiced by: Yuto Natsumeda

"*sigh* I-I can't always control myself when I'm eating...! Before I know it, I've already sucked too much...!"

A familiar created by Huey seventy years ago, Morvay's talent for reconnaissance means he's responsible for collecting intelligence and checking on the condition of the gemstone altars across the kingdom.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: His skin is pinkish red, probably due to his inhuman nature.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Eiden comments this about Morvay and Aster after seeing Morvay support Aster in his duties wholeheartedly despite always being at each other's throats.
  • Badass Boast: One of his voiced lines has him say, "First you'll have to defeat me!" when you cast his Draw Aggro move, "Lusty Eyes."
  • Big Eater: Aster often references how hungry Morvay is. One Yonkoma on official social media also shows Morvay eating Yakumo's cooking.
  • Boring, but Practical: His sole purpose is to taunt enemies and tank their attacks. He is still one of the stronger characters in the game, and is practically required in order to survive the game's harder stages. Since this does work on enemies who target specific slots - which are often bosses - and it has a quick cooldown, it's a fair necessity to taunt the damage away if the rest is low on health.
  • Butt-Monkey: Morvay is usually on the receiving end of someone's wrath, which happens to be Aster most of the time. In the White Day event, he also ends up being consumed by a monster while looking for cocoa beans.
  • Crutch Character: Subverted. Unlike Aster, Morvay's tanking abilities stay consistently powerful throughout the game, and is practically required for particularly difficult stages.
  • Draw Aggro: Familiar Morvay's Signature Move is "Lusty Eyes", where he can taunt the enemies to focus their attacks on him.
  • Dub Name Change: His name is Morphis in the Japanese version (which the voiced dialogue is based on).
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Alongside Aster, his SSR form made a brief appearance in Sunburst Fever prior to its official release, as a result of being exposed to Huey's essence stored in the Night Lantern.
  • Hell-Bent for Leather: He's pretty much wearing an all leather outfit and he's an incredibly horny incubus.
  • Hidden Depths: Aster apparently sends him out on reconnaissance missions, which is one way for them to gather information, and Morvay seems to do pretty well in that field.
  • Insult of Endearment: Aster calls him a variety of "dumb incubus", but the two still work together and work around the manor.
  • Intimate Marks: He has a womb tattoo on him, fitting an incubus.
  • Older Than They Look: Same as Aster, he is much older than the human members of the cast as he was created by Huey around seventy years ago.
  • Really Gets Around: Sleeps with various men to get his meals and is more than happy to have sex with Eiden when Aster summons him.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: His furry form is absolutely squeal worthy.
  • Shapeshifting: He can change from his incubus form to an incredibly furry little demon.
  • Stone Wall: Familiar Morvay specializes in high defense, as he is automatically set to guard after every attack. His offensive ability, however, is very weak as a result.
  • Succubi and Incubi: He's an incubus and has the horns to back it up. He unfortunately gets too into "eating" his meals so it leads to Aster cleaning up his messes.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: He and Aster can barely get through a conversation without cursing each other out, but they've both been loyally waiting for their master Huey's return.
  • Too Kinky to Torture: During their group sex, Aster hints to Eiden that Morvay likes it when people hit or degrade him. Although Morvay immediately tries to deny this, his H-scenes and intimacy times seem to back up Aster's claims. In fact, his punishment during the White Storm event for messing with the cocoa beans was solitary confinement.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Eiden's "essence". In his SR card, Aster basically tricks Eiden into feeding Morvay with it, since he knows it's his favorite.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Aster certainly thinks of him as such. Originally created to give Aster a companion, Aster thought of him as cute and sweet as a child, but now that Morvay's grown into a sex-obsessed adult, he's far less complimentary.

    Yakumo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nuc_yakumo.png
Voiced by: Manaka Sawa

"I don't want to... be all alone again... I want to become stronger... so that I can protect Mr. Eiden and the others..."

A serpent spirit born deep within the Wood Territory, Yakumo is descended from the famous Great Serpent of legend.
  • All the Other Reindeer: He was ostracized by the other serpents because of the earring embedded into his ear. In one of the Crimson Phantom intimacy rooms, he reveals he was cast out for being cold-blooded, and the serpents lashed out at him out of fear of his powers.
  • Ambiguously Human: He's actually a youkai despite his human appearance and Eiden even comments on Yakumo feeling cold because he's part-snake.
  • Animal Motifs: Snakes, as he a descendant of the Great Serpent and his earring is even shaped like a snake.
  • Apologetic Attacker: One the lines in his battle dialogue is "I'm sorry."
  • Apologizes a Lot: His normal dialogue or quotes usually has him apologizing in some way. He even apologizes to Eiden when having sex. Eiden eventually calls him out on this, telling him that he doesn't have to apologize for everything. That said, he will still at times apologize out of habit.
  • Badass Adorable: He's a sweet, gentle, and timid young man with the incredible powers of a mighty snake spirit.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: His powers when he can't control them, can wreak massive havoc and damage onto anyone or anything near him. Which is why he's so nervous and scared of being around others. Despite these drawbacks, Yakumo is nothing but polite and gentle to the people he meets.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: One of the reasons he becomes attracted and attached to Eiden is when the other treats him with kindness and not fear.
  • Berserk Button: Hurting anyone he cares for will immediately send him into a rage. Eiden or his grandparents, in particular, are people you don't want to hurt while Yakumo is around. The cult in Chimes of Darkness gets the worst of it when Eiden's first in line for the blood sacrifice, utilizing his newfound control to destroy the entire ritual chamber by his power alone.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: His usual voice pitch is very quiet, but he can get incredibly violent if you hurt the people he loves.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He grows very fond of Garu, even saying he was like a brother to him. During the Halloween event, he tries to make sure Garu doesn't over exert himself.
  • Bigger Is Better in Bed: He has a long, uh, snake, that Eiden is extremely appreciative of.
  • Can't Hold His Liquor: He gets drunk off of one piece of chocolate liqueur.
  • Casting a Shadow: When he gets angered or saddened, dark shadows appear from behind him in the form of serpents.
  • Code Name: Has one with Eiden and Garu during Eerie Escapade, his being Cream Stew.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: In his White Day SSR unit, he becomes depressed after hearing Eiden recount his best White Day ever with a neighbor he slept with back at home. After getting drunk, this jealousy turns into aggression and he demands to know why Eiden is still thinking of another guy while he's with him. Eiden, being Eiden, takes advantage of the situation and eggs him on.
  • The Cutie: He's a sweet Shrinking Violet who is prone to tears and emotional outbursts. Homecoming Yakumo's second intimacy room is also titled "Serpent Cutie."
  • Dark and Troubled Past: It’s revealed in the Eerie Escapade intimacy rooms that as a child, the other village children were disgusted by his cold-bloodedness and threw stones, while the forest serpents would bite him out of their fear of his ancestor, the Great Serpent’s power.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He wears a lot of dark colors, but is ultimately a nice and gentle man. Misty Vale reveals his ancestor, the Great Serpent, wasn't all that bad either. People blamed the Great Serpent for bringing disaster, but in reality, he was as kind and loving as Yakumo.
  • Death Glare: Yakumo flashes an incredibly unnerving one whenever he's angered.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: His powers go out of control in his introductory chapter, and he becomes the boss of chapter 2. Once defeated, he joins your group.
  • Demonic Possession: Ends up becoming the vessel for Duke Vlad in Eerie Escapade, in an attempt to protect Garu from suffering this fate.
  • Emotional Powers: His snake aura only ever comes out when he's feeling any negative emotions, such as anger or sadness.
  • Flower Motifs: In the Idol event, Yakumo's outfit has sunflowers on it.
  • Friendless Background: Yakumo grew up in a cave but was ostracized by both serpents and humans.
  • Gentle Giant: He's the second tallest clan member just after Quincy, and is a snake yokai, but he's also a sweetheart.
  • Good Is Not Soft: While usually docile and non-confrontational, if he's upset about something he's not afraid to inflict harm onto whoever pissed him off, especially if it's in regards to Eiden as Aster finds out the hard way in White Storm.
  • Hopeless Suitor: He's been in love with Eiden since they first got to know each other and has openly said as much. However, while Eiden has made it clear that he cares for Yakumo and his comfort, he brushes off Yakumo's confessions and has shown no indication that he reciprocates Yakumo's feelings with the same intensity. As well, given the nature of the game, which has multiple characters vying for Eiden's attention all with the same unlikelihood of ever being with him romantically (primarily due to the players lacking that option), it's unlikely that Eiden ever will.
  • Irony: Is perhaps the most sheltered and innocent member of the main cast who apparently didn't even know how humans have sex until his romp with Eiden in the main story, and yet he's one of the characters who tops Eiden in every H scenario he has with him.
  • Lightning Bruiser: All of his striker-type cards hit very well, matched by his defensive statuses.
  • Liquid Courage: He's more straightforward and aggressive toward Eiden when he's drunk.
  • Little Bit Beastly: A subtle serpentine take; he has slit reptilian pupils in his eyes and his tongue is even forked at the tip.
  • Lost Food Grievance: In one of the Yonkoma posted on the official social media accounts, Yakumo gets frighteningly furious when he finds out Morvay had eaten the dinner he had made especially for Eiden. He also loses his composure when Edmond ruins a chocolate cake during White Storm.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: In Misty Vale, he comes to realize his relationship with Eiden (and all that he cares for by extension) will ultimately end with the latter's passing. When that time comes terrifies him, but he wants to enjoy the time he has with him regardless.
  • The Medic: His N-SR versions are of the Healer class.
  • Nosebleed: Gets one during the Idol event when Eiden gets drenched with water by Garu's splashing, resulting in a Sexy Soaked Shirt. Yakumo being Yakumo, apologizes for getting a nosebleed.
  • Odd Friendship: The shy and introverted Yakumo gets along surprisingly well with the serious and strict Edmond. It's telling that aside from Eiden, Edmond is the only other person who can reason with an enraged Yakumo.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: During the Homecoming intimacy rooms, the party notices that his meals don't taste like his usual standard, leaving him apologetic and flustered. Eiden later finds out that Yakumo was lost in thought since the forest is where the Great Serpent came from.
  • Performance Anxiety: In the Idol Event, Yakumo can actually sing well during practice, but when he's put on stage, he immediately seizes up.
  • Power Incontinence: Yakumo has difficulty keeping his powers under control, lamenting he's not as useful until he can properly control them.
  • Prone to Tears: Out of all of the other clansmen, Yakumo is the one who tends to cry the most, due to his frustrations or his anxieties getting to him.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Yakumo's eyes are red, but when he's upset, they will glow as an ominous aura forms around him.
  • Raised by Grandparents: He was raised by his grandparents and loves them deeply. He worries about making their lives hard since he has trouble controlling his power.
  • Running Gag: Him eating dirt. Since Aster had to rewrite the villages memories of him using his dark energy that appeared as a snake, to instead being a giant earthworm. This lead to his grandparents giving him dirt to eat as a send-off gift... which immediately saddens him as he believes his loving grandparents hate him. Even one of his gifts called "Spice" is just a bowl of dirt with spices in it.
  • Seme: He's one of the romanceable characters that tops Eiden during their H-scenes. Ironically, he lacks any of the traits typically associated with Seme-type characters, being closer to a Uke in terms of characterization. When he's sober anyway. There's also the occasional role reversal where Eiden teases him a bit to bring out his more dominant side.
  • Shrinking Violet: He's a very shy and nervous boy, speaking quietly and trying not to make trouble if he can help it. He also tends to shrink up when being confronted by anyone.
  • Supreme Chef: He's apparently a very good cook and often wonders what Eiden likes to eat. His intimacy gifts are all related to cooking (kitchen knives, spices, and a cookbook), and his special skill is titled "Cozy Cuisine" .
  • Tender Tears: Yakumo is prone to crying easily. One of his default models has him crying, complete with a voice clip.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Cocoa Liqueur Yakumo has a passive skill literally called "Unforgivable!" that gives him an attack boost when his HP is below 75%.
  • Tranquil Fury: When he gets mad, it's a gentle, but cold and terrifying calm. Cocoa Liqueur Yakumo is even given unique battle dialogue where he hisses, "So, you chose to make me angry?"
  • Vampiric Draining: Fittingly, the vampiric-dressed Crimson Phantom version utilizes this as part of his tanking abilities. Unlike Morvay, who protects himself with a barrier, Crimson Phantom Yakumo relies on keeping his health up through his attacks.
  • Wall Pin of Love: He does this to Eiden in episode 5 of his White Day SSR. Apparently, it was the first time anyone had done this to Eiden.
  • When He Smiles: Yakumo is very shy, so when he smiles, Eiden often gushes over how cute he is in his internal dialogue.

    Edmond

Voiced by: Muru Nimaigai

"I swear on my honor... to pledge my life to the protection of the kingdom."

Of noble birth and holding the position of Vice-Captain of the Knights of the Klein Kingdom, Edmond is extremely well-educated, possesses impeccable manners and is a certified master sword wielder.
  • Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: No surprise that the man with pale blue hair, a blue and white uniform, and a giant sapphire embedded in his hand would turn out to be an Ice King.
  • Boobs-and-Butt Pose: His Chase the Rainbow event alt "Sweet Aroma" has a nice view of his backside, while still showing his icy, knightly façade.
  • Blue Blood: He's a noble, and he uses his upbringing to help Blade and Eiden get accustomed to Social Season in the Classy Affair event. That said, while he is a stuffy noble, he goes out of his way to dress modestly in a crowd to either blend in, or to cover up his noble status because he refuses to use his standing as a free pass to be an asshole.
  • Covert Pervert: He secretly has a ravishing fetish, as shown in one story where he's caught masturbating to an erotic novel about a knight being accosted by an enemy lord.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: He's the boss of chapter 3. Once he's defeated, he joins your party.
  • Defrosting Ice King: After spending a bit of time with Eiden and the others, he does noticeably become a bit gentler.
  • Determinator: Is unwilling to back out of Aster's offer because his pride wouldn't allow him to admit he needs help.
  • Form-Fitting Wardrobe: His knight uniform looks pretty skin tight on him.
  • Hypocritical Heartwarming: During Classy Affair the nobles are quick to dismiss Eiden and his status as Grand Sorcerer, and call him a fraud once tensions are high. Edmond steps in to defend his status, and declares that they're not allowed to call him a fraud. Edmond still calls him "fraudulent sorcerer", but it doesn't have the same edge as it used to have, occasionally used to call Eiden out when he's being shamelessly perverted.
  • I Meant to Do That: In the White Day when he attempts to help Yakumo out, he only causes more of a mess that he claims he meant to do.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's cold, prideful and often times comes off as rude. He does have a kinder side as he notices Yakumo's distrust towards the knights, and promises the other the knights who attacked his grandparents are not what he stands for. He even offers to apologize for his negligence and to give the villagers money to pay off the damages.
  • Lethal Chef: The White Day event reveals that Edmond can't cook to save his life. While he only wanted to help, his assistance only serves to make Yakumo to almost fall into another one of his rages. It makes sense since he's lived a pampered rich life until moving in with the others. Also, his taste for sweets is so strong that when Eiden tries one of his chocolates, he nearly hurls with how much sweetness was in it.
  • Light Is Good: Despite his cold demeanour, he does genuinely want to do good and serve his kingdom. When he hears Yakumo tell him how horrible the knights were to his village, he immediately offers his apologies as well as money to compensate for any damages those knights may have caused.
  • Not So Above It All: Edmond, despite being the no-nonsense and well-adjusted guy, isn't without his quirks, having an inhuman tolerance for sweets that makes Eiden grumble in exasperation.
  • Odd Friendship: The cold and sometimes curt Edmond quickly bonds with the quiet and reserved Yakumo. It's noticeable that one of the few people an enraged Yakumo listens to is Edmond, and he's noticeably gentler around the serpent clansman.
  • Pet the Dog: Despite his often-frosty attitude, he's never shown to be particularly cold toward Yakumo. Homecoming Yakumo's first intimacy scene has him scold Kuya for teasing him. He's also the one to calm Yakumo down in White Storm when Yakumo attacks Aster.
  • Questionable Consent: A majority of his H scenes give off this impression, though it's frequently made clear that his flimsy resistances are a front rather than him not wanting sex, as whenever Eiden listens to his protests and backs off, Edmond starts begging him not to stop.
  • Royal Rapier: Carries one as his main weapon. So far, he's the only one among the cast who actually uses a weapon to fight.
  • Sensual Spandex: His regular outfit has shades of this, being quite tight fitting and showcasing his lovely physique. Flaming Secret, while accompanied by airier outerwear, is a skintight and very high-cut leotard that exposes his hips, making him look like an exotic dancer.
  • Sexy Backless Outfit: His Sweet Aroma SSR has him don a yukata that exposes his bare back with a corset beneath it.
  • Stripperific: His ceremonial garbs, as demonstrated on Knightly Night. Even Eiden comments on how ridiculous it looks for what's meant to be a formal outfit. Now and then, Eiden invokes this to get as much of Edmond's figure as possible, something the latter doesn't take very kindly to.
  • Sweet Tooth: He's noted to like sweet foods, and his gifts mainly consist of pastries. In the White Day event, his sweet tooth is apparently so strong he thought to douse Yakumo's cake in a flood of syrup. When he gifts Eiden the chocolates he made, Eiden nearly passes out due to how sweet it tasted, and how it was mostly fruit jams and syrup than actually chocolate. In Chase the Rainbow, he comments that the ice cream could use more sugar, with Eiden wondering if he’s a man or an ant.
  • Tsundere: The cold kind, which Eiden takes pleasure in defrosting.
  • Uke: He bottoms to Eiden in all of their H-scenarios.

    Olivine

Voiced by: One Night Love

"Worship me...? That's a bit of an exaggeration... This is just proof of everyone's undying faith in the God of Klein."

Having lived his entire life in a temple within the Water Territory, Olivine is a holy priest serving the God of Klein.
  • Badass Bookworm: Not only is he adept at battle, but he also enjoys reading and his gifts mainly consist of books. Hilariously, he even uses his books to whack his enemies during his story events.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He reveals he's the eldest of his siblings, and when children are involved he's usually the first to step in to help them.
  • Boob-Based Gag: Of the rare male variety, as his chest is larger than the very much well-built Quincy. During the launch countdown, the capelet chain breaks and the buttons on his shirt pop open, one button hitting Edmond on the forehead, and his 2022 birthday art has his birthday cupcake propped up between his pecs. Then in Festive Glimmer Eiden wanted a comforting hug from him just so he can get a face full of Olivine's chest.
  • Boring, but Practical: Olivine's regular versions solely focus on boosting the party's attack to allow them to deal more damage or to heal more, but he is one of the most powerful characters in the game thanks to this.
  • Combat Sadomasochist: He's one of the members who's noticeably turned on when getting damaged during battle. Dreamland Olivine even remarks how pleasurable it is to be hit during combat.
  • Covert Pervert: He's actually quite kinky for a priest, as one of the books at his desk was a smutty novel and he was jerking off when he lets Eiden stay the night at the church and Eiden accidentally walks in on him. It's later revealed that he didn't necessarily want to become a priest, but his parents made him.
  • Dude Magnet: All of the knights in the area are in love with him, and he's the main reason they want to stay around the church. When Eiden and Edmond take him back to their home, a mob of knights come out sobbing and begging Olivine not to leave.
  • Friend to All Children: The information on his card says the local children all love him like a big brother due to how bright and friendly he is. After meeting Quincy, Olivine momentarily leaves the group to look after a feverish child.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Much is made of his physical strength and he is shown fighting and killing monsters in the story, but all of his cards at launch are either healing units or buffing units, none of which do any physical damage. Subverted with his Radiant Admiral card that is arguably one of the best strikers for single target stages.
  • Greater Need Than Mine: Olivine cares for everyone, but sidelines his own needs as a result. He never wanted to be a priest in the first place, but he still took on that role and has yet to consider leaving the church. In the Idol event, he took on the role of the idol group's captain without much objection and brushed off any concerns about him with a smile. He later lied about an express letter being sent from a fan, when in reality it's from his parents, berating him for straying away from his religious upbringing.
  • Hunk: The guy's buff as all hell for a priest, which Eiden takes time to appreciate.
  • Light 'em Up: Olivine is shown to be capable of using offensive light magic when fought as a boss in the Sorcerer Trials.
  • Meaningful Name: Olivine is a green kind of gemstone, which perfectly matches the colour of his hair. Strangely, the gemstone embedded in his abdomen is "not" olivine, but peridot.
  • The Medic: Olivine mostly specializes in healing and defensive magic. Holy Confession Olivine allows characters to heal twice per turn when used.
  • Nice Guy: He's nothing but polite, kind and wanting to help everyone around him.
  • Nun Too Holy: Downplayed. He still behaves the part, but underneath that priestly raiment, he has quite a lot of repressed sexual vices. He's a masochist for one, and in one instance, Eiden walks in on him pleasuring himself while reading an erotic novel.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: He acts rather professional and distant in Chimes of Darkness, treating Eiden and Yakumo as if they were just students, not close companions. This instantly clues Eiden in that something is up, sneaking past school curfew to get answers out of him. He was trying to keep his distance to infiltrate an underground cult that worships the more destructive side of the God of Klein, which partakes in sex rituals and blood sacrifices to appease the "True God of Klein". He couldn't divulge into the details because he was acting as The Mole. It's also the very rare time he's seething with anger, knowing religion is being used for horrible things.
  • Religious Bruiser: Is a faithful priest and a wielder of light magic.
  • Sexy Priest: To the point that most of his worshippers visit the temple not for religious reasons, but instead to ogle him.
  • Stripperific: His ceremonial garbs, courtesy of Holy Confession. They were designed by the church to use as little material as possible to save money and to uphold the virtue of frugality. Yeah, right. Aqua Bloom doesn't cover much either, which shows off a leg, and a peek of his pecs under the belts. Eiden wastes no time in saying how hot he is in it.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: In his Zest SSR outfit, Eiden meets Olivine's father. And according to Eiden's observations, aside from the stern expression, Olivine is a spitting image of his father.
  • Support Party Member: Olivine specializes in either healing the party (his Holy Confession SSR), or buffing the party's offensive capabilities (his SR version and his Aqua Bloom SSR version).
  • Uke: He bottoms to Eiden in all of their H-scenarios.

    Quincy

Voiced by: Tetsu Oshima

"...It would have been much less troublesome if you'd have just gone home."

Possessing a tremendous amount of essence, Quincy has been marked as a dangerous figure by the people of the forest. As such, he leads a solitary existence, living just far enough from the local tribes to stay out of their way, but close enough to provide help if needed.
  • Ambiguously Human: He refers to himself as a Yokai in a very brief throwaway line, but he doesn't give any context for it, and there are no clues in his appearance or powerset for what sort of Yokai he would be, which has left some fans wondering if maybe he's actually a "normal" magical human like Edmond and Olivine and simply misunderstood what the term meant.
  • Animal Companion: His furry friend Topper.
  • Animal Motifs: Bears. Eiden even lampshades this in Quincy's SSR outfit where he likens Quincy to a bear hibernating.
  • The Big Guy: He's shown to be the tallest among the main cast.
  • Catchphrase: Seems to be a variant of "Too troublesome", which Eiden even lampshades.
  • Bigger Is Better in Bed: Based on Eiden's reactions and in-game images, Quincy is most likely the most well-endowed member of the cast. Kuya, who had seen Eiden have sex with Quincy at the end of chapter 5, also makes a teasing remark about his impressive size.
  • Cleavage Window: His shirt opens up to reveal his chest.
  • Counter-Attack: His Buckeye Miracle SSR is a Guardian that specializes in drawing in enemy attention and damaging them back when they attack him.
  • Declaration of Protection: His SSR outfit has him telling Eiden he promised to protect him, which is a promise he will hold.
  • Dub Name Change: His name is Kessie in the Japanese version (which the voiced dialogue is based on).
  • Exhausted Eyebags: He has incredibly dark circles beneath his eyes. One of his gift items is a pillow. The Astral Duo event show that he didn't have these when he was much younger and it implies, it was due to him outliving everyone he loved and the village growing to fear him which caused Quincy to eventually leave and become the guardian for the forest.
  • Forest Ranger: He usually lives in the forest, can navigate it with ease and makes sure he can keep the villagers away for their safety.
  • Glass Cannon: He hits he hardest out of the other clansmen, but unfortunately can't take too many hits before he's down.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: He has blonde hair, and while not always the friendliest, he does look out for the villagers living near the woods to keep them safe.
  • Hunk: He's got a lot of musculature that surpasses even Olivine's figure.
  • Mighty Glacier: Quincy's cards all deal high damage, but they usually take up to 6 turns to charge for his special attack, as opposed to the cards from other characters (which usually take 3 turns).
  • Odd Friendship: He and Kuya could probably be described to be on friendly terms and have known each other since Huey.
  • Old Friend: Kuya refers to Quincy as such, while Quincy calls him "old fox" and the two could probably be described to be on friendly terms.
  • The Quiet One: He prefers keeping talking to a minimum, and Hates Small Talk, which Eiden quickly finds out.
  • Really 700 Years Old: A standout example for someone who is explicitly human, he apparently discovered his aging slows down thanks to his gem. In Astral Duo, it's revealed that he and Kuya have been alive for at least two double eclipses, which happen every fifty-four years.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: He has red eyes and is the clansman who can potentially hit the hardest in terms of physical damage.
  • Seme: One of the characters who tops Eiden in their H-scenarios.
  • Sleepyhead: When not on his forest duties or helping the clansmen, Quincy can usually be found napping or sleeping in some form. The fact that his gifts are pillows and he has bags under his eyes imply as much. The Astral Duo event implies he wasn't always this tired.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: He can apparently understand Topper and translates his squeaks for Eiden. In one of Kuya's personal side stories, he can also understand the forest creatures whom Eiden saves from Kuya's traps as they thank him.
  • Who Wants to Live Forever?: It’s revealed that Quincy used to be part of the village that now fears him, but left because his family, friends and lover grew old and died, while he remained the same and the village grew to fear his lack of change.

Topper

Quincy's Animal Companion who is usually perched up on his shoulder and manages to communicate with the others.
  • Big Eater: Usually seems to be snacking, and is easily persuaded with food.
  • The Nameless: Subverted. Quincy initially didn't give him a name until Eiden suggested something a bit too outlandish. So from then on, he was named "Topper".
  • Overly Long Name: Eiden bestowed him the name "Twilight Star-Show Max Lucifer Topper III". While Quincy wasn't amused by it, Topper takes it in stride, stating his full name in Rainy Season.
  • Parrot Pet Position: He's usually seen perched on Quincy's shoulder.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: Even Eiden can't seem to help but coo over the little guy when he sees him.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Any kinds of meat will easily lure Topper out. Eiden uses this knowledge whenever he wants to see Quincy faster.

    Kuya

Voiced by: Cider Yotsuya

"Hehe... I wonder what special tricks you'll have to please me in the future. I'll be waiting most expectantly."

A fox spirit from the Wood Territory, years and years of exposure to essence have gradually transformed Kuya into human form. With a nefarious smile ever present across his face, he delights in following his heart's every desire.
  • Allergic to Routine: He hates being bored and will do anything and everything to keep himself from feeling that way.
Kuya: When it comes to such dull activities, I have a one-time limit.
  • Aloof Ally: He's only really joining the clan because Eiden seems to be an interesting anomaly that would bring some excitement to the world that Kuya is craving for. After that, he usually keeps to himself or messes with the other clansmen for the hell of it.
  • Animal Motif: Foxes, given he's a fox youkai.
  • Arc Villain: Chapter 5 and 6 of the main story has Kuya be the obstacle before reaching the wood altar, he joins the party after Eiden beats him in a one-on-one card game.
  • Asian Fox Spirit: He's a fox spirit who gradually gained a human form after years of exposure to essence. While the game technically doesn't take place in Asia, his character has elements of the Japanese kitsune; Quincy and the creatures of the forest call him a "youkai" who likes causing mischief, and one of his SSR forms is called Kitsune Dream.
  • Because It Amused Me: In his SR story, he has Eiden trudge through the woods with him for hours. He later on mentions he could have easily transported Eiden to the area via magic. He just didn't feel like it.
  • Berserk Button: The quickest and surest way to invoke Kuya's wrath is to use underhanded methods against him, such as using potions to poison the yokai banquet. He also doesn't take kindly to those who fail to amuse him.
Kuya: I only pay attention to those who are interesting, and I only tease those who deserve teasing, anything else is meaningless.... I'm most displeased.
  • Collector of the Strange: He collects items from Eiden's world that fell into their world. It's due to his unfamiliarity of the items he's collected that Eiden was able to play and beat him to join the clan. In his Youkai Banquet SSR, he had a broken kaleidoscope that his master broke when he was much younger.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Kuya (and all of his other versions) was the game's sole Saboteur character up until the introduction of Lovable Enforcer Blade, specializing in inflicting debuffs and ailments against enemies.
  • Deadpan Snarker: The first few lines out of his mouth are about how pathetic Eiden is at "imitating" Huey's duties.
Kuya: But he's more like a clown who can't do anything properly.
  • Everyone Has Standards: A prankster and jerk to the core, Kuya draws the line at pulling pranks using underhanded methods such as using a potion to cause the entire youkai attendants to momentarily lose their minds. He also wasn't too pleased with Eiden cheating in their card game to convince him to join the clan.
  • Flower Motifs: In the Youkai Banquet event, Kuya is associated with foxtails and even had a whole bunch of them surrounding his home.
  • Forgotten First Meeting: In the Astral Duo event a younger Kuya actually runs into Eiden and the others, which was centuries in the past. It's only thanks to the god who was following the group wiping younger Kuya's memory of the event to avoid any complications in the future.
  • The Gadfly: There's almost nothing he won't say or do if it will get a reaction out of someone. He also likes teasing and messing with the other clan members when he has the chance. Edmond even admonishes him during one of Yakumo's personal side story when he pointed out Yakumo's food tasting less than his usual quality just to see if he could get him to cry.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite him terrorizing parts of the forest, in the zest event, it's revealed that some animals actually worship him. Kuya also seems to be respected enough in the youkai community where he's invited to youkai celebrations when they're able to shift their forms. This is played up more during the Youkai Banquet event where the youkai's are ecstatic to see Kuya actually accepting their invitation to the event.
    • It’s also revealed in the intimacy rooms that deep down, Kuya is lonely and due to his long lifespan, he easily loses interest in things, wondering when he will find something or someone that he will never tire of. This is what makes Eiden realize the reason why Kuya likes toying with him.
  • I Hate Past Me: The Astral Duo event demonstrates this the most where Kuya gets into a snark-off competition with his past self. When his past self attempts to insult him for showing his ears and tails which he believed was a sign of weakness, Kuya has Eiden repeat everything he had said during one of Kuya's SSR Intimacy stories about actually liking his ears and tails. Needless to say, Kuya holds contempt for his past self and while he won't admit it aloud, has grown to be more accepting of what he deemed to be his flaws thanks to Eiden.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: During his SSR intimacy story, at first Kuya acts like a Jerkass to Eiden's request to see his fox ears and tails, but later reveals his worries about his tails and ears being perceived as 'indecent' and is visibly pleased by Eiden's enthusiastic appreciation of them.
  • It Is Pronounced Tro Pay: His name is actually pronounced as "Kyu-ya".
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Kuya is far from kind, with his main hobbies being teasing and playing pranks on other for his own amusement. However now and then he does some acts of kindness, although he would never admit it as such.
    • In Zest of Life, he helps Olivine and Eiden win the Great Hunt by using his prestige among animals to bring a large gathering of animals with zest to them.
    • In the Youkai Banquet event he seems to kill the tanuki youkai who tried to get his attention back because he was spending more time with Eiden. However, it's revealed that he actually spared the youkai, and merely took their essence so they are stuck in their original beast form. So while it will take decades to reaccumulate enough essence to transform back into human form, Kuya enacted a suitable punishment for the youkai to reflect upon what they did during the banquet.
    • While he complained about the idol event and called it dull, he does subtly help Yakumo get over his stage fright by suggesting he practice in the forest. Then during the finale, he stops the other idol groups fans from sabotaging the others by using tampered light sticks which would blind the clansmen performing.
    • In Astral Duo, despite initially brushing off Eiden's concern for Quincy, he goes with Eiden back in time to help find his old friend. He also leads them to the Lord of Youkai's house to get another time fossil and come back. In his intimacy room, he lets Eiden take care of him and even accompanies Eiden to watch the moon by the lakeside.
  • Master of Illusion: He can cast illusions that confuse and trap people. In battle, his illusions can even deal damage. He even created an illusion of Eiden's old world to force the other to admit his goal isn't wanting to return home. He's also not above using theses abilities in bed with Eiden, just to tease him.
  • Odd Friendship: He and Quincy could probably be described to be on friendly terms, as he even refers to him as "Old Friend". While probably one-sided, he's also surprisingly friendly with Karu and Garu.
  • Purple Is Powerful: His palette consists of mainly purple hues, and is probably one of the most powerful clan members with his penchant of casting illusions. He's hailed and worshipped amongst the animals in the forest, as well as the youkai's in the youkai community. He's so powerful that when he joins youkai celebrations, everyone is excited to see that he actually came and try to get his attention.
  • Really 700 Years Old: He's a youkai who's at least a millennia old, having lived to witness lifetime events multiple times. He makes an offhand comment during his SSR side story that the newly human formed youkai's who invited him to their party happens every hundred years, and is invited one again in Youkai Banquet. His physiology is also brushed upon in that event, in that his kind achieve a human form once they live for a thousand years. He's also been friends with Quincy since knowing Huey, which was seventy years ago, with neither of them seemingly aging much. In Astral Duo, it's revealed that he and Quincy have been alive for at least two double eclipses, which happen every fifty-four years.
  • Sadist: He goes out of his way to annoy or ruffle the feathers of others just out of his own amusement. Even in his H-scenes with Eiden he teases and edges the human just to see his reaction.
  • Sarcastic Devotee / Sour Supporter: He will occasionally back up Eiden, but not without snarking about how this new Grand Sorcerer won't live up to the legacy of Huey. He even refers to Eiden as an "impostor".
  • Seme: One of the characters who tops Eiden in their H-scenarios.
  • Sex–Face Turn: He joins the party after Eiden beats him in a card game... as well as sleeping with him.
  • Sex Magic: Some of his H scenes involve him using magic on Eiden to intensify their sexual activity.
  • Sink or Swim Mentor: Treats Eiden with this mentality when "helping" him in his SR story. Since he sees how physically weak Eiden is, he claims he's doing this so the other won't rely on him so much.
Kuya: Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime... I don't want to have to be your guide every time you wish to go somewhere.
  • Situational Sword: Several of his units, in particularly Fallen Leaves, halve the amount of healing the enemy does when they are hit by him. This stacks, so he only needs to hit twice to start disabling enemy healing entirely. This can make certain boss stages like the five healer bears in the Sorcerer's Trials and Rin to some extent a joke.
  • Stepford Snarker: Very sarcastic to hide how living for centuries has made him lonely and have a hard time finding joys in things that don't last long.
  • The Tease: Despite his supposed distaste for Eiden's identity he frequently makes flirtatious remarks towards the latter. He's also the only character who flirts back when his character on the main screen is tapped on.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Implied. In his Youkai SSR stories, he finds an old kaleidoscope he once cherished as a young youkai before his teacher broke it to "teach" him. Eiden remarks how cruel that must have been with Kuya pretending to have not cared. He even gifts the kaleidoscope to Eiden when the human fixes it.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Aromatic Exotica just gives him a shawl and pants, though moreso he has taken a fancy to the fashion when he shows up in Solaria during the Sunburst Festival.
  • Who Wants to Live Forever?: It’s revealed in the Mystic Banquet that he actually is very lonely and finds his long life meaningless as he easily loses joy in the things he once liked.
  • Wild Card: Kuya is capable of almost doing or saying anything just because he feels like it, which usually leaves Eiden and others on edge whenever he encounters the youkai. Kuya's motives are usually a mystery that some believe are better left unraveled for their own safety.
  • Yellow Eyes of Sneakiness: Well, yellow eye, but he's the most unpredictable member that often causes trouble by inaction just to stir some discord to entertain himself with.

    Garu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nuc_garu.png
Voiced by: Isamu Kuroi

"If I successfully accomplish my duties, I'll get lots of praise and tasty food, right?"

A wolf spirit turned man. Having lived his whole life in the wilderness, Garu has never known family life. After his original homeland became part of the dreaded Dead Zone, he began following a wandering old drifter from whom he learnt to speak and think like a human.
  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: He likes it when Eiden gives him pats on the head, and usually requests them.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Blade apparently calls him Garu-Garu, Karu hates it. During the Yokai Banquet event, Kuya seems to affectionately refer to Garu and Karu as "young pup".
  • Animal Motifs: Wolves.
  • Ambiguous Disorder: Despite no one using terms related to it (likely due to it not being our world) and it sometimes being said that Karu is made up by Garu, they act like an accurate system with one host and a protector alter, including fights over who gets to front and different preferences when it comes to sex (Garu is a bottom, Karu wants to be a top). The only unrealistic part is the eyecolor switching, but this can be seen as a visual cue for the player so they can see who's fronting at the moment (and it is not commented on in-universe). Kuya also says that Garu has two different scents to him. Finally, Karu is treated like a different person from Garu by others (which is how alters should be treated unless they tell you otherwise), like when Eiden gives him two candy, for Garu and Karu.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Although he has a Vague Age, his relationship with the other clan members seem to suggest this, with Yakumo having a protective Big Brother Instinct for him and Kuya affectionately calling him “young pup.”
  • Badass Adorable: A very cute and strong wolf boy who acts like an exciteable dog.
  • Big Brother Instinct: As harsh as he may be towards Garu at times, Karu proves he truly cares for Garu. He lashes out at Eiden during the Halloween event for tiring Garu out and not being able to do much.
Karu: I'm warning you... Never betray Garu again...
  • Big Eater: All of his gift items consist of food, and he's usually wondering what he's going to eat. In his Master’s Gift SSR, Garu is given an entire tables worth of food which he pretty much finishes on his own.
  • Code Name: Has one with Eiden and Yakumo during Eerie Escapade, his being Beast Burger.
  • Covered in Scars: Has a scar going across his nose, and plenty more across his body.
  • Fanboy:
    • Karu seems to be a fan of Kuya as he was excited to go and find him during the Youkai Banquet event, referring to him as "Master Kuya". Garu, while still respectful of him, doesn't have the same reverence for Kuya.
    • The two also both support Olivine, Blade and Yakumo's idol group, with both of them seemingly leaning more towards Blade.
  • Fragile Speedster: Garu can hit multiple enemies quickly, but this leads to him not being able to take hits very well.
  • Furry Reminder: Garu seems to be holding his tail when meeting Eiden. His SSR cards usually show him sporting actual ears along with his tail. Even tapping him on the head will have him blush and say that only Eiden is allowed to touch his ears.
  • Go Fetch: In one of his stories, Eiden uses a ball to play fetch with Garu in order to take back his shirt the other had snagged and refused to return. Garu gets really into it, to Eiden's amusement.
  • Go Mad from the Isolation: He spent a lot of years in solitude and only had himself as company. This lead to him creating another personality, Karu in order to cope.
  • Hidden Depths: In his Youkai SSR story, Karu apparently acts strong in order to never be taken advantage of like he once was in the past.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: Garu, an innocent wolf spirit turned human who acts like an excited puppy, has bright blue eyes, which shift to gold when Karu is in control.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Interacting with Garu has him sometimes reveal that Karu is “just like him”, in that he also loves Eiden’s scent.
  • Kindhearted Simpleton: He's as simple as they come, but is overall a kind boy. Even Kuya is so stunned by Garu's happy-go-lucky attitude he unconsciously shakes the boys hand when he introduces himself.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: His Howling Cyclone unit is vastly different ftom all others in the class, because, well, he's actually able to deal damage.
  • No Indoor Voice: Whenever Karu appears, he usually speaks in a loud boisterous voice.
  • The Nose Knows: Being a wolf spirit, Garu has a keen sense of smell, even being able to detect essence with his nose. During the Youkai Banquet event, this ability helps to prove Eiden is innocent of trying to poison the banquet attendees.
  • One of the Kids: Whenever young kids are around, Garu and Karu tend to play with them, doing things like leading them on a snowball fight against Eiden or being a "Captain" for the children in his Howling Cyclone card intimacy stories.
  • Raised by Grandparents: Garu tells Eiden that his grandfather told him he would know whom to claim as his Master based on how he felt when he saw that person. During the youkai banquet, Karu under the foxtail illusion believes he sees his grandfather by the river bank and quickly tries to run after him so he wouldn't fall in.
  • Rock–Paper–Scissors: What he and Karu play to decide who gets to come out to the surface and roam around. Karu is none too happy when Garu wins.
  • Sibling Rivalry: Garu calls Karu his "brother" and when the two squabble amongst each other, it's usually brought on by Karu instigating it.
Quincy: This looks like it's going to be a nuisance.
  • Small Name, Big Ego:
    • Karu sees himself as the stronger of the two and brags about his desire to conquer humans. When Eiden first "meets" him, Karu attempted to embarrass him by stripping him while he slept. Eiden being too tired to care, surprises and confuses Karu. Eiden ends up playing along with Karu's bragging out of amusement, but also because Karu wouldn't listen otherwise.
    • During the Youkai Banquet event, Karu was angered to find out he didn't receive an invitation to the banquet when Kuya and Yakumo received invitations.
  • Split Personality: The personality he created to cope, Karu, is slightly more aggressive than him and usually talks about "playing" with humans or conquering them.
  • Stronger Than They Look: Garu may be a young boy, but he's managed to survive living in the Dead Zone before meeting Eiden.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Eiden finds out that Garu does the hunting while Karu finds it too troublesome to do. Eiden internally snides that without Garu, Karu would likely die of starvation and be found on the road three days later.
  • Tough Spikes and Studs: Wears a spiked collar and is certainly a tough fighter.
  • Trauma-Induced Amnesia: The Misty Vale event story reveals he used to be part of a wolf pack, but was kidnapped by humans. When the chief regaled the story to Eiden and Garu, Garu can't help but feel distressed despite not remembering the event at all. The trauma also shows up in Chapter 13, where a man recognizes Garu and notices the gemstones he wears are "removed", and are on his collar. Garu freezes up in terror, and causes Karu to come out to protect him. Eiden comes to the conclusion that Karu exists as a defensive mechanism against trauma, not loneliness, in Chapter 14 Part 1, which explains why Karu is so distrusting against humans.
  • Tsundere: Karu acts this way towards Eiden, and other things that he refuses to admit aloud.
  • Uke: He bottoms to Eiden in all of their H-scenarios. Hilariously, Karu isn't all too happy to realize Garu prefers being on the bottom, although even he ends up bottoming in some H-scenes where he's present.
  • Vague Age: Garu’s exact age has yet to be revealed. Physically, he’s about 18, but he mentions about how the Dead Zone used to be different, and as a wolf youkai, he might age differently.
  • Vapor Wear: Many of his SSR outfits don't appear to have underwear. Master's Gift has a deep backside window that shows off his butt, and Howling Cyclone is him covered in mummy bandages under the coat. Endless Banquet subverts this, as while there is just pants and a cloth flap covering him, story text explicitly says he wears a thong.

"Darling, are you worrying about me? I'm fine..."

An e-droid from an unknown land, Blade faithfully carries out his each and every "mission" from his home dep within the Dead Zone.
  • Affectionate Nickname: He refers to Eiden as "Darling" pretty much exclusively.
  • Artificial Human: His descriptor calls him an e-droid.
  • Badass Adorable: A cheerful e-droid that can also kick some ass.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: He may be a quirky and cheerful robot man, but when he has to eliminate a target, he can and he will. He was an assassin after all.
  • Bookworm: He loves reading different books and learning all he can about human emotions and feelings.
  • Collector of the Strange: He has an assortment of knick knacks in his home that he sees as "cute", although he's quick to say Eiden is obviously the cutest.
  • Cuteness Proximity: His official description states that he is a "lover of all things cute."
  • Declaration of Protection: One of his battle quotes has him declaring he'll protect his darling.
  • Dreadful Musician: Played with. Blade's normal humming isn't that bad. However, in the Idol Event, he can't hold a tune well, with the vocal coach soon giving up on him and considering him a lost cause. The song Eiden manages to write for the group lets Blade sing in a key he's more comfortable with.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: A Christmas ornament based on Blade was first seen in artwork released for Christmas 2021 before he was revealed on March 25, 2022 and added on the March 31 update.
  • Expy: Very obviously based on Clear from DRAMAtical Murder, with both characters being sweet-natured robot boys with short white hair, mysterious backstories surrounding their creation, immediate Undying Loyalty for their respective protagonists, and signature titles that they refer to the protagonist with instead of their name. They both also hum their own songs.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Blade eats an ornament when at Aster's mansion and Garu notes that he brings a lot of strange foods that were usually tasteless and gave stomachaches, before considering that E-Droids may have stronger stomaches.
  • Eyes Out of Sight: His bangs cover his eyes most of the time, however if he is emotional, especially when happy, you can see one eye. His Idol Fest SSR averts this, clearly showing both of his eyes.
  • In Love with the Mark: Played with. Blade was originally sent to Klein to find and kill Huey. However, he explains to Eiden that after Huey changed the color of his gem, he's been happily following him since.
  • Innocently Insensitive: His nickname for Dante is "Lord Jackass", because that's what Aster called him. Eiden's attempts at correcting him remain futile.
  • I Will Wait for You: Huey told him to wait in the Dead Zone for his return, which he has been doing obediently for what's likely decades, and he's none the wiser. When he meets Eiden, he initially calls him "Huey".
  • Keet: He's easily excited by cute things, calls Eiden "darling", and overall has a childish personality.
  • Kindhearted Simpleton: So much so that the chapter he appears in calls him an "Innocent Protector". When Eiden casually mentioned the fruit Blade brought him was delicious, Blade takes it upon himself to continuously feed that fruit to Eiden until the other has to tell him off.
  • Lethal Chef: Downplayed. His cooking doesn't appear to be very appetizing, but Eiden tries not to complain. He had apparently fed Garu who would come around for food. But Garu eventually stopped, saying his food was tasteless and gave him the worst stomachaches. "E-Droid Chow Time” reveals that while Blade can identify ingredients, he has no concept of what tastes good or bad. It also might be the result of him being an Extreme Omnivore and not comprehending that his ingredients are inedible.
  • Literal-Minded: Because he’s an e-droid, he doesn’t quite understand expressions. During the Classy Affair Event, when Morvay asks Eiden if he has a death wish when it comes to attending the Social, Blade interprets it as being actually deadly and takes it upon himself to protect Eiden during the “deadly” Social.
  • Manchild: His official description states that he has a childish personality. He also acts this way when Eiden meets him.
  • Mysterious Past: While he is an e-droid, nobody seems to comment about his enigmatic origins until the Rusted Nation event, where he takes Eiden to the technologically advanced Saia, the city where he was built in.
  • The Needless: He technically doesn't need to eat or sleep, being an e-droid. However, if Eiden seems to be enjoying something, Blade is more than happy to participate and experience it himself.
  • The Nicknamer: He's the one who generally comes up with nicknames for the clan members. He Calls Garu and Karu, "Garu Garu", Edmond is "Little Ed", Aster is "Little Aster", Yakumo is "Little Yakumo", and there's Olivine being called "O~livine".
  • Older Than They Look: Since he's an e-droid, he doesn't technically age. Aster and Quincy even recognized him when he saves Eiden during the fight, meaning he had to be around Huey seventy years ago. He also was told to wait in the Dead Zone by Huey, and even was meant to assassinate him.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business:
    • When his text box turns black as he discusses his original mission to Eiden; assassinating Huey. He drops his cheery attitude and looks extremely concerned when he tells Eiden this.
    • During the Idol event, when he starts acting coldly and says that "cute" doesn't suit him, Eiden immediately pulls him aside to ask what's going on. Blade was acting as a "prince" to gain more popularity, but after Eiden tells him he likes Blade as his true self, he goes back to his normal personality. This in turn gains him even more fans.
    • The Classy Affair event sees him enter a robotic “kill mode” state when he kills two insane horses and nearly kills the driver before Eiden and Edmond intervene. His text box also turns black and gives a very dark turn on his mission to protect Eiden.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Happily dons a maid dress for the Classy Affair event.
  • Scary Teeth: He has sharp, pointed teeth. However, he's actually fairly gentle and playful.
  • Seme: He tops Eiden in their H-scenes.
  • Super Boss: He serves as the boss for the 50th and final Sorcerer Trial, being one of the most difficult boss fights in the whole game.
  • Terrible Artist: The "cute" artistic statues he makes in Eiden's visage are ... impressive, to say the least.
  • Wholesome Crossdresser: His Lovable Enforcer SSR has him clad in a maid dress.
  • Yandere: Shows some of this during the Classy Affair, where he makes it his personal mission to protect Eiden. When a carriage pulled by horses driven insane nearly hits Eiden, Blade kills the two horses and nearly kills the driver if it weren’t for Eiden and Edmond’s intervention. Justified as he was programmed to be an assassin and eliminate targets. Afterwards, he learns to not harm others as part of his mission to protect Eiden.

"Don't say I didn't warn you. If you continue with this kind of behavior, punishment will be the least of your worries."

Fire Territory's very own Sun Lord of Solaria.
  • All Crimes Are Equal: No matter who commits a crime, even a child stealing from people, he sees that everyone be properly punished. He eventually realizes how cruel in hindsight it really is in Desert of Dusk, vowing to make changes so another incident like this doesn't happen again.
  • Barrier Warrior: His Blazing Coliseum version, unlike Morvay, protects the entire party as opposed to taunting and taking all the hits. This puts him at an advantage against enemies that have AoE attacks.
  • The Beast Master: He apparently enjoys taming wild beasts. In his chapter, he even claims he was attempting to take the tiger that attacked Eiden and the boy as his new pet. Chapter 10 has him ride tiger leopards to have the group escape from danger, and has another wildcat named Sooley that he keeps as a pet in Sunburst Fever.
  • Cynicism Catalyst: The reason why he has such harsh punishments for crime? His parents both believed in peace, and that war only brought pain. This led to them being overly passive to crime in Solaria and resulted in them being killed in a bandit raid and leaving him to rule alone. He blames their kindness for leading to this.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: The Eternal Hanabi rooms reveal Dante's childhood life sucked. Dante lived a coddled life that ended up costing his parents' life, leaving him to fend for himself for the rest of his life. He was sent away in a carriage to run away and escape, only for said carriage to get wrecked in an attempt to kill him when he was a child. He was left stranded in the desert, starved for five days, and was barely able to hang on with the aid of the fire elementals he's attuned to. Even then, he barely scraped by the elementals' first test.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: When visiting his parents graves, he can't really talk to them unless he's incredibly drunk.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: A Christmas ornament based on Dante was first seen in artwork released for Christmas 2021 before he was revealed on April 22, 2022 and added on the April 28 update.
  • Fiery Redhead: A Fire Territory lord with a fierce temper that gets riled up pretty easily with the hair to match.
  • Hates Their Parent: He claims to hate his parents for essentially leaving their young son alone to fend for himself and the kingdom after their untimely death. However, he says this while drunk, and Eiden even points out that For Dante to feel this strongly about his parents shows he does actually care for them.
    • In addition, in the Chase the Rainbow event, he is clearly shown to be gentle with the illusion of his mother, even expressing sadness that no one is there to hold his hand anymore.
  • Hunk: He has a rather muscular build.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He isn't always the kindest, as he has a kingdom to rule and can't show weakness too often. He does grow a soft spot for Eiden, as he gifts him a prayer bead bracelet usually worn by the royal family for Eiden to wear as a form of protection. The Scorching Sun intimacy rooms also show that he's a caring leader for his people and his rule, while strict, isn't as iron-fisted as he lets on. After he became the Sun Lord, he did his best to open Solaria's borders and ensure work is as equal-opportunity as he can realistically allow. He made it a point to outlaw slavery so people can live free without exploitation, something he takes personal issue with.
  • Lonely at the Top: He understands that he can't fix everything in his kingdom, but doesn't try to make any positive changes, calling it "unnecessary kindness". This leads to plenty of people, especially Eiden not liking the way he rules. His kind of rule was a carryover from Sun Lords of the past, which is why he has plenty of dissenters concentrated around a settlement far from Solaria.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: For all the constant spats, Dante is given pause when he learns Eiden is an orphan, just like he is. He admits that the two have similar backgrounds, as different as their situations turned out to be.
  • Parental Abandonment: Dante's parents died when he was young, saddling him with the throne of Solaria. He understands the struggles orphans have, but he also doesn't beat around the bush about the reality of it. He won't go easy on the orphaned child because of that reasoning, in an attempt to teach self-worth.
  • Seme: He tops Eiden in their H-scenes.
  • Tattoo as Character Type: He has white markings covering the upper part of his body and some along his hands. He got them from the fire elementals, and his parents likewise once had them.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: His chapter with Eiden revolves around the two arguing and butting heads over how to properly regulate the essence in Solaria. They end up begrudgingly working together by the end.
  • Training from Hell: He subjects Eiden and the orphan boy to a series of harsh exercises as their punishment. However, Dante's butler implies that this is his way of getting them to become stronger so they could survive.
  • Tsundere: He's an even bigger hardass than Edmond, though he's not without his kinder moments. Whenever Eiden catches him doing so, though, Dante gives him the stink eye and moves on without much discussion.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Scorching Sun does away with his shirt, leaving his chest exposed and tattoos in full display. Justified in that Solaria is a desert city and the summers are sweltering heat hazes, which is when this outfit is worn.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Sees no problem in punishing a child for stealing. Although his punishments imply that he's trying to make his subjects strong enough so they can survive on their own.
  • Young and in Charge: He's twenty one, and rules the city of Solaria under an iron will. Granted, he didn't have a choice in the matter due to losing his parents at a young age.
  • Younger Than They Look: Dante looks older than Eiden, but Aster reveals that Dante is twenty one, which is younger than Eiden.
    Rei

"As long as I achieve the results I desire, I don't care how I get there."

An independent, alluring and mysterious man with extensive knowledge on gemstones and essence, as well as a profound interest in performing "experiments".
  • Big Brother Instinct: Towards Garu. He becomes very gentle and protective whenever he's around. It's heavily implied that he took part in the experiments that resulted in Garu being separated from his gemstone, so guilt plays a big role in this.
  • Blessed with Suck: This is how he sees his status as a member of the Gemstone Clan. Despite having part of Huey's power, he despises his circumstances around it and downright says he never signed up for it. But he still has something to do with his powers, so he clenches his teeth and bears with it.
  • Broken Bird: Rei is among the most fractured of the clan members, including but not limited to disassociating during sex with Eiden when the latter accidentally causes him pain, and experiencing sexual abuse in Rusted Nation.
  • Deadpan Snarker: While not as harsh as Kuya or Dante, Rei tends to frequently criticize Eiden's actions, and his snarking extends to even the latter's performance in the bedroom.
  • Deus Sex Machina: Played fully straight, Rei has a chronic condition of unknown origins (implied to have something to do with his powerful but unstable essence) that cause him painful, seizure-like episodes, and sex with Eiden greatly helps in alleviating the symptoms.
  • King Incognito: Before he took the name Rei, he was actually a prince in charge of magical investigation, under his first code name, Zero. This was a few generations ago, though, so he's unknown to the current royal family.
  • Older Than They Look: He looks like a young adult, but has actually been around since way before Huey disappeared, even being familiar with Quincy and Kuya.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Chapter 12 Part 2 reveals that "Rei" isn't his birthname, but a name he's lived with for as long as he can remember. It takes until Chapter 13 for him to reveal his real name: Joleon. Even still, he prefers to be called Rei, as he's discarded his past years ago.
  • Power Incontinence: Due to his unspecified condition, his essence is unstable. He's powerful, but when he loses control of it, it's quite debilitating. Eiden makes a distinction between Rei's episodes and whenever Yakumo or Edmond lose control of their essence; the latter two are influenced by their emotions.
  • Professor Guineapig: He knows what he's doing with his experiments, and that's because he did it to himself first before attempting them elsewhere. He even crafted his tools out of his own gemstone, which Eiden notices it has some chips and cracks unlike the others' pristine gems.
  • Puzzle Boss: His boss battle in Chapter 11 (part 2) has him start off in critical health and has to have his HP fully restored else he'll wipe out your party, resulting in a Game Over.
  • Really Gets Around: Rei is the only bottom in the cast who is not a virgin. It's implied he slept with plenty of other guys before meeting Eiden, based on him quoting his past partners and his extensive knowledge of sex toys.
  • Uke: He bottoms to Eiden in all of their H-scenarios.

Others

    Huey
The original Grand Mage Sorcerer who Eiden is apparently a descendant of and has vanished from the world 20 years ago.
  • Deus Sex Machina: Surprisingly averted. Aster's intimacy stories reveal that Huey never used bodily fluids while he provided essence to his familiars.
  • Dub Name Change: The Japanese version (which the voiced dialogue is based on) lists his name as "Hashkt."
  • The Archmage: He was apparently so powerful that he even had Kuya's respect.
  • The Ghost: Most of what we know about Huey comes from what the characters know. In flashbacks, he doesn't have a visible portrait. It wasn't until the Rusted Nation event story does he finally make a formal appearance.
  • Worthy Opponent: Kuya seems to have seen him this way, given he's one of the few people who has the yokai's approval.
  • Unseen No More: He finally makes an appearance in the Rusted Nation event story, roughly a year and a half after the game's initial launch.

    Mysterious Man
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nuc_rin.png
A strange man with the upper part of his face covered in a veil that Eiden runs into in the Dead Zone.
  • Classy Cane: He carries around a cane with a ram's skull on the handle.
  • Dramatic Unmask: In chapter 10, he finally unveils himself, revealing that his face is astonishingly similar to Eiden's since they are "brothers".
  • Entitled to Have You: Believing since he is Eiden's "brother, Eiden should belong to him and him alone. He even claims he knows what's best for Eiden, whereas the clansmen don't.
  • Light Is Not Good: He's mainly donned in mostly white clothes, but each of Eiden's encounters with him leaves Eiden on edge.
  • Malevolent Masked Men: He wears a veil like mask covering his upper face and seems to know Eiden, even the two haven't met before. He doesn't seem to currently harbor ill intentions against the young man, even admitting that everything he's done was for Eiden's protection. However, the same can't be said towards the other clansmen, with him initially planning on destroying the Solaria gemstone which would kill Dante.
  • My Name Is ???: He has no name so far in the story, only shown as "???". Chapter 10 reveals that his name is Rin.
  • Power Parasite: In chapter 10 he leeches away Eiden's essence while "assisting" him in saving Solaria's gemstone.
  • Stalker with a Crush: He certainly gives off these vibes as he tells Eiden he's been watching him from afar and everything he's done was for Eiden's "protection".
  • Stronger Than They Look: His essence level isn't anything to write home about, which he even points out to Eiden to prove he isn't a threat towards him. Yet, he's able to not only control the beasts in the Dead Zone, he nearly destroys Solaria's gemstone, knocks out the griffins surrounding it, and sucks away Eiden's essence. Eiden doesn't buy his claims of being weak either.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Claims to be Eiden's brother and looks almost exactly like him after taking off his mask, with the only difference between them being hair color and length.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: Without his veil, he's shown to have golden eyes. Not only he has an unusually thin amount of essence, he's capable of stealing it as he demonstrates on Eiden, utilizing it to create doppelgangers to splinter his companions' trust. And making him watch all the while.
  • Yandere: Declares to Eiden he will eliminate all of the other clan members so he can have Eiden to himself.
"I knew it... it's because of those people that you've become like this, brother... Rest assured, brother... I'll eliminate every one of them for you... All of those filthy, disgusting, harmful... clan members.
