    The Beldam/The Other Mother/Miss Prenderghast
A mysterious, spidery humanoid creature who feeds off the souls of young children, disguising herself as their loving mother.
  • Animal Motifs: Spiders, something she shares with the Collector.
  • Creative Sterility: As in the original Coraline novella, she is unable to create anything truly unique; she only copies, twists, and mimics things that already exist. Except for the spider/wasp creatures she sent after the Mystery Kids, though that could have been a power-up on Bill's part.
  • Freudian Excuse: The reason why she abducts kids and kills them? She is trying to locate her missing child and is tragically unable to know if she is accurate with her choices until it's too late.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: The being that would come to be known as the Other Mother was simply a Puritan woman living in Blithe Hollow centuries ago; she was a medium (a trait she shared with her daughter Agatha), but after several tragedies befell her, culminating with her own execution, did she royally screw over her own soul and devolve into a monster.
  • Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: With skin made of porcelain, how can she not be this?
  • Humanoid Abomination: A doll-like monster taking the form of her targets' mothers, who she deceives with traps catered to their deepest wishes. After they give in to her whims, buttons are sewn onto their own eyes and the Beldam has free range over their soul, which she inevitably devours for sustenance.
  • I See Dead People: She was a medium in her mortal life.
  • Mythology Gag: In the original Coraline novella, the Other Mother swears by her mother's grave and mentions placing her mother in it herself. The comic confirms that she is responsible for her own mother's death and was burying her before she was executed by the Blithe Hollow townsfolk.
  • Red Right Hand: After sealing her deal with Bill Cipher, her missing hand (the one destroyed by Coraline and Wybie) is replaced by one made of gold.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: Or supernatural gold button eyes, which replace her lost button eyes that were ripped out of her face by the Cat.
  • Was Once a Man: Once a mortal woman, and Agatha's mother, to boot, before her spirit was transmogrified by the Collector, becoming what she is now.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: As in the Coraline novella and film, she is unable to venture into the real world, and is forced to use an intangible, spectral form of herself in order to communicate with the Mystery Kids after capturing them.

    Bill Cipher/William
A triangular 'dream demon' from an alternate dimension.

    The Collector
An ancient creature living in the World Tree, who indirectly created the Beldam.
