Monsters are the inhabitants and dominant creatures of the Monster World, and are the focus of the franchise. There are currently 379 species of monsters in My Singing Monsters to buy or breed. Each of them have distinctive voices or sounds that they use to contribute to the various songs found in the game. Once Monsters are collected, they can be muted and unmuted in order to create a unique mix. In addition, a Time Machine can be purchased to speed up or slow down the tempo, or a Recording Studionote to change the voices of most types of Monsters entirely. Each species categorized into one of the 13 (or 16) different classes and have one or more elements that allow them to live on certain islands depending on which elements. There are currently 36 elements in the game. They are also both Rare and Epic versions for many Monsters, and in the prequel game Dawn of Fire, there are additional Baby and Prismatic versions too.
