Mage Heroes

    Alice, Queen of Blood
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_alice.png
"My kiss grants you immortality or death."
Voiced by: Linsay Rousseau (English), Maria Ayase (Japanese), Yōko Hikasa (Japanese, Adventure)

Alice was the illegitimate daughter of the Antalus family, a famed family that stayed before the first great war. Her father favored her big brothers, who in turn bullied her. One day, the family brought back a bunch of loot from a battle and they tossed a supposedly ugly gem indirectly to Alice. From the gem, she heard a demonic voice promising her power if she turned the whole family against the Lord of Light. After being even further humiliated, Alice accepted the deal. She proceeded to manipulate her family and finally win the favor of her father as a dutiful daughter, while stoking the rivalry between her brothers on who to inherit the whole house. After one brother killed another and got executed as a result, Alice secretly poisoned her father to death. She then rallied the whole house Antalus to blame the Lord of Light, and they proceeded to desecrate the temple they used to pray to the deity. The Lord of Light responded by turning everyone into foul demons, one which would be known as the "Blood Demons". Alice was also turned into one, but the bargain with the gem was also fulfilled; she retained the power to steal the life force of a man. Her form also becomes more of a succubus-like creature. Leading the Blood Demons to reside at the Abyss, Alice now reigned as their queen, spreading terror to the Land of Dawn while also legitimizing her rule from another abyssal clan, the Fire Demons under Thamuz.

  • Achilles' Heel: Her overdependence with Life Drain for sustain as a mage means that anti-healing items will cripple her hard.
  • Bad Boss: Since the Blood Demons originally were from the Antalus family that abused her, Alice relished in abusing them when she's not using them as her pawns as her revenge. She left them under the mercy of Thamuz if they ever cross him, and if they ever leave the Abyss, Alice never cared if the humans rejected them back, she sent those still loyal to her to kill them as deserters. Likewise, after all she did to bring Arlott to her side, Alice abandoned him when other demons stabbed him in the back and left him for the dead.
  • Co-Dragons: She and Thamuz serve as the dragons for the yet-to-be-seen Lord of the Abyss.
  • The Corrupter: Her modus operandi is to find someone to corrupt, and corrupt them she will. She used to corrupt Leomord until the retcon re-assigned that task to Vexana (and another retcon just separate them altogether, since Vexana became more heroic and sympathetic afterwards). As of current, she has corrupted Balmond and Dyrroth.
  • Dragon-in-Chief: Despite being the top servant of the Lord of the Abyss and sharing the spot with Thamuz, Alice is simply the more active one in spreading terror in the Land of Dawn. Enough that she's generally thought as the game's main antagonist.
  • Freudian Excuse: Being bullied for merely existing by her own family no less eventually sealed Alice's course of life. She willingly accepted the Deal with the Devil for revenge, and has never turned back to remember her bullied self, she's only in to terrorize those who tormented her. So much that sometimes, she forgot about those horrific past and only thought that she's just in for more personal power.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Alice was once a constantly-ridiculed illegitimate daughter of an influential family. She ended up as a bloodthirsty demon and one of the biggest threats of the Land of Dawn.
  • Generic Doomsday Villain: In the older lores, most of the troubles in the Land of Dawn can be summed up with "Alice got bored so she decided to mess shits up for no apparent reason except that she's EEEVVVIILLL." After the update of her lore, Alice downplays this as while her action feels like done in this spirit, it's because she's secretly lashing out at the humanity that mistreated her.
  • Life Drain: Her ultimate allows her to drain life from nearby enemies over time and lasts indefinitely, at least until she runs out of mana.
  • Succubi and Incubi: She takes form of a succubus, the kind of sexy devil. This is also emphasized in her ultimate where she continuously drains the life of heroes near her.
  • Tom the Dark Lord: Behold, the devilish leader of the Blood Demon! And she is heralded with the name of... Alice. And her surname is no longer Antalus, it's now Brown. Hence, the leader of the Blood Demon's full name is... Alice Brown.

    Aurora, Frost Oracle
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_aurora.png
"Listen to the sound of snowing."
Voiced by: Yuri Kimura (Japanese), Rie Tanaka (Japanese, Adventure)

The greatest ice mage known in the Land of Dawn, residing in the Northern Vale, living very long to see kingdoms prosper and fall. Aurora kept a vigil watch on a space-time rift somewhere near the Northern Vale, just in case of attack from the Abyss. However, the threat instead came in form of the insectiod alien invaders led by Zhask. His army ravaged the Land of Dawn and even put the Moniyan Empire in danger. They sent out their finest hero, the knight Tobias, to repel Zhask, but even he was overwhelmed. Aurora decided to interfere and helped Tobias. During the constant battle, they fell in love and planned their marriage, with Aurora agreeing to leave behind her immortal life for it. They managed to corner Zhask, but the king was too strong in his final stand, summoning all of his insect army from every directions. To secure victory, Tobias charged forward to give Aurora an opening. Aurora prevailed by turning her arm into ice and it broke on impaling Zhask in the decisive blow. That failed to kill Zhask, but forced him to retreat. However, while Aurora could re-grow her arm back, Tobias died, leaving her in grief. She rejected the Magic Academy's offer to make her their headmaster and summoned a blizzard to recover the body of Tobias before the Moniyan Empire could entomb him in the Hall of Valor for his services.

No one ever saw Aurora again ever since. She now resides in the isolated Queen's Peak, with Tobias' body encased in ice to preserve his state until she finds a way to revive him. In the meantime, she still keeps watching further rifts, in case Zhask returns. When the time comes, she will have her revenge.

  • An Ice Person: The token ice mage of the game. Aurora comes with skills that may involve freezing her opponents in place. Interestingly, while other MOBA ice users tend to replicate Crystal Maiden ultimate-wise, Aurora has a more original moveset (that gig goes to Odette, who doesn't use ice, instead)
  • Arch-Enemy: Zhask. After all, aside of threatening the Land of Dawn in general, Zhask has made it personal for Aurora when he caused Tobias' death.
  • The Archmage: Known as one of the greatest mages in the Land of Dawn, even if her specialty is just ice magic.
  • Crusading Widow: Aurora was already set to marry Tobias once the battle is over. He died in the final battle against Zhask, while Zhask survived. Aurora now wants Zhask completely dead.
  • Revenge: She wants to settle the score with Zhask permanently after the death of Tobias.
  • Who Wants to Live Forever?: Aurora doesn't seem to be happy with how she's immortal. Meeting Tobias made her enjoy mortality that she's willing to trade her empty eternal life for a momentary but sweet life with Tobias. Unfortunately, Tobias ends up dead before they can get married.

    Cecilion, Embrace of Night
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_cecilion.png
"Only love and night are everlasting."
Voiced by: Yuu Wakabayashi (Japanese)

Ever since the Blood Demons were created, Alice had a tendency to contest her region against the Fire Demon Lord Thamuz. Many Blood Demons caught in Thamuz' territory were oppressed and enslaved. Eventually they couldn't take it anymore and fled to the surface, trying to seek forgiveness from the Lord of Light, but the humans rejected them and the remaining forces of the Abyss hunt them down as traitors.

Cecilion was born from such group of demons and was the last known Blood Demon in the surface. To blend in better with humans, he disguised himself as a hyper-talented opera actor who performed in Avalor. One day, during his performance, he met a noblewoman named Carmilla and they instantly fell in love. However, Carmilla's father did not approve this as he wanted to marry off Carmilla with a noble for his own house's needs. So, he forcefully closed down Cecilion's opera house and exiled him.

Cecilion contemplated on snatching Carmilla and running away from her marriage, but decided against it. So, he decided to write a letter wishing her a happy life. He came back later to see Carmilla off one last time, but when he arrived, he found Carmilla dead, committing suicide rather than marrying the man she did not love instead of marrying her beloved Cecilion. To save Carmilla, Cecilion transferred his blood to her, reviving Carmilla as another Blood Demon. The two then flew off, never to be heard by the people of Avalor again.

Eventually, Cecilion changes his mind about seeking forgiveness from the Lord of Light when he realizes that he's going to be rejected by the humans anyway; he now lives only for Carmilla and will deliver swift and brutal deaths to those who dare oppress them.

Cecilion is a Mage hero who launches powerful blood magic from afar with increasing power after each cast while using the same blood to sustain himself.

  • His passive is Overflowing. Cecilion naturally possesses an enhanced mana statistic: He has higher max mana, mana regeneration rate, and his skills' damage scales with his max mana. If his skills hit a target, he gains a raw number of 10 current and max mana.
  • His first skill is Bat Impact. Cecilion summons a giant bat out of blood and has it dive down to a target area. The bat damages every enemy in line of its flight. After landing to the ground, the bat launches another attack that deals additional damage before vanishing. After Cecilion casts this skill, he has 6 seconds to recast this skill instantly (after 2 seconds of cooldown), but the mana cost will be increased up until four times after each recast. For each cast, Cecilion gains bonus movement speed for a second.
  • His second skill is Sanguine Claws. Cecilion does a cast animation. After a delay, a pair of claws appear from the ground and move to reunite with each other, dragging and damaging enemies caught in the area to the center place where the claws reunite. Caught enemies will also be immobilized for a second.
  • His ultimate is Bats Feast. Cecilion taps into his inner Blood Demon power, massively increasing his movement speed (which rapidly decays) and making him immune to slowing effects. During this period, he shoots out up to 40 Blood bolts to enemies nearby, each dealing damage to and slowing enemies. Each bolts hitting an enemy also heal him for a flat number and a percent of his max HP.
  • His extra skill is Moonlit Waltz, available only if Carmilla is an allied hero. If Carmilla is nearby, Cecilion can summon her to his side. She then activates her own Vermil Shadow, attaching herself to him and becoming untargetable and grants Cecilion a shield. Carmilla can choose to unattach herself to any direction, where she will charge to that direction, deal damage and slow enemies caught in the area.

  • Animal Motifs: Bats. Cecilion's magic take a lot of bat imageries and he can summon a giant bat for magical assault. Additionally, he also evokes the image of a vampire, so his cape is customized to almost look like the wings of a vampire bat.
  • At the Opera Tonight: Cecilion's most important day of his life was during one particular opera performance when he met Carmilla and fell in love.
  • Battle Couple: When Carmilla is on the battlefield on the same side with Cecilion, both get an extra skill that are otherwise unavailable. As one of the most obvious Official Couple of the game, there will be extra perks beyond mere extra dialogues if they fight on the same side.
  • Blood Magic: He's a mage hero who uses blood element to rain destruction. He's a Blood Demon, of course he's going to use something related to blood.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He's a Blood Demon who's also a passionate, loyal lover and would rather be left alone with his love instead of oppressing humans. In fact, it was humans (and other demons) who try to oppress him.
  • Last of His Kind: When he reached adulthood, Cecilion was the last known Blood Demon who lived in the surface (the rest of his people stay underground with Alice or got slaughtered by fellow demons marking them as traitors). Of course, turning Carmilla into a Blood Demon to save her life makes him barely averting the trope.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: As a Blood Demon, he's an off-shoot of vampires since his spells has bat imageries on them (seeing that their leader, Alice, is a succubus). He doesn't directly do blood sucking, though. And he's a very passionate, romantic lover.
  • Official Couple: With Carmilla. There's no saying otherwise, they are one of the more blatant couples in the game.
  • Romantic Vampire Boy: The 'forbidden' (and eventually eternal) romance with Carmilla forms a bulk of the (vampire-ish) Blood Demon Cecilion. And he's very attractive and romantic to boot.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: He's a Blood Demon disguising as a talented opera singer without noble blood. Carmilla is a daughter of an influential noble. They almost got separated forever, but eventually Cecilion managed to procure a happy ending for them (Carmilla's parents, not so much, probably).
  • Then Let Me Be Evil: Downplayed. Usually, Cecilion wanted to go redeem himself to the Lord of Light. But seeing that he faced rejection everywhere, he decided to stop doing so. He's still not coming back to the Blood Demons under Alice because they'll also hunt him down as a traitor.

    Chang'e, Moon Palace Immortal

Chang'e is a Poke/Burst-specialty hero who can rain down a barrage of projectiles on her enemies safely from a distance.

  • Her passive is Trouble Maker. Each time she deals damage to enemies, she leaves a crescent mark than can stack up to 20 times. Each stack increases the target's received damage by 2%, up to 40% maximum.
  • Her first skill is Starmoon Shockwave, where Chang'e shoots an energy sphere in the target direction. While her second skill, Crescent Moon, is active, four additional spheres will be launched, converging at the target area.
  • Her second skill is Crescent Moon. Chang'e gains a shield and extra 50% movement speed that decays after a few seconds. Her Basic Attack, first skill, and ultimate are enhanced and gains 10% movement speed for as long as her shield is up. Its cooldown is decreased each time Chang'e deals damage to enemies.
  • Her ultimate is Meteor Shower. Chang'e launches 30 meteor projectiles while gaining 10% extra movement speed for 4 seconds. If Crescent Moon is active, extra meteors will be launched, each inheriting 33% of Chang'e's damage. The launching direction is fixed until its next cast.

  • Adapted Out: Despite taking almost everything well with the legend of Chang'e, this one does not have the counterpart of her husband, Hou Yi. Even Zilong is just limited to adopted big brother.
  • Age Lift: Instead of the much more mature, eligible-for-marriage figure of the legend of Chang'e, this one is a Token Mini-Moe.
  • Brother–Sister Team: She and her adoptive brother Zilong can fight together in a team, although unlike Lesley and Harley, they do not have a dedicated sibling buff. Coincidentally, they are also good at split-pushing because of their Basic Attacks and movement speed.
  • Elixir of Life: Or more accurately, Pills of Life. Chang'e mistook the Great Dragon's immortality pills for candy and gobbled them all up, which is most likely why she's titled Moon Palace Immortal.
  • The Exile: Downplayed. To atone for her mistakes, the Great Dragon scared Chang'e away from the palace and help her adoptive brother Zilong in his travels before she's allowed to return.
  • Lunacy: The Great Dragon gave her his Crescent Moon to protect her in her travels, which Chang'e calls upon with her second skill.
  • Moon Rabbit: She's based on the Chinese folklore surrounding the moon goddess Chang'e who's accompanied by her moon rabbit. This Chang'e also has a rabbit accompanying her in her splash art and in-game.
  • More Dakka: She's all about barraging projectiles. Her enhanced Starmoon Shockwave and Meteor Shower has her launching extra energy spheres and meteors, respectively.

    Cyclops, Starsoul Magician
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_cyclops.png
"You got a good taste!"
Voiced by: Kami Daimon (Japanese), Riho Fushida (Japanese, Adventure)

  • His passive is Starlit Hourglass. Hitting enemies with his skills reduces all of his skills' cooldowns by 0.5 seconds per hit.
  • His first skill is Stardust Shock. Cyclops casts two shockwaves of stardust forward, damaging all enemies hit in a straight line.
  • His second skill is Planets Attack. Cyclops increases his movement speed for 2 seconds and generates five spheres. The spheres attack nearby enemies prioritizing enemy heroes, with the damage decaying per hit on the same target.
  • His ultimate is Star Power Lockdown. Cyclops generates a giant sphere that chases a selected target. The further the target is, the greater its damage and immobilization time will be.

  • Cooldown Manipulation: He gets a 0.5-second cooldown reduction in all of his skills per hit, not per cast. If all of Stardust Shock and Planets Attack's hits connect, he can reduce his skills' cooldowns by 1 second and 2.5 seconds, respectively.
  • Cyclops: The handsome guy with one eye, as he puts it.
"Never seen someone handsome with one eye?"
  • The Runt at the End: Compared to the rest of his species, he's the small one among them.
  • Spam Attack: Cyclops can repeatedly cast his skills with little downtime with enough cooldown reduction provided by items, in tandem with his passive skill.

    Esmeralda, Astrologer
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_esmeralda.png
"The night sky tells all."
Voiced by: Mika Deguchi (Japanese)

The Astrologers residing in the Agelta Drylands were known for their powers to predict the future. The tyrant Khufra demanded their aid, but when they rejected him due to being a tyrannical king, Khufra slaughtered the whole tribe, only leaving one lady: Eslora. Khufra took her in and they fell in love, but Khufra's increasing cruelty torn Eslora to the point that she sealed him with her own magic within a tomb.

Years passed, what remnants of the Astrologers along with Eslora managed to rebuild their own clan. Eslora left behind the Starmoon Casket which was passed through generations. In the present day, the new Astrologers choose Eslora's descendant, Esmeralda, as the successor and the most skilled of the Astrologers to eventually be entrusted with the Starmoon Casket. Esmeralda decides to travel to the Minos Labyrinth to learn the secret of the casket.

En route, however, the Twilight Orb exploded in a place far away, but it ends up creating a desert quake and storm that causes the Starmoon Casket to fall down and its power going to Esmeralda. From there, she recalls the memories of Eslora as well as the return of Khufra. Escorted by the casket to an ancient city, Esmeralda unlocks further memories of Eslora and gains the true power of the Starmoon Casket in form of the magical shawls, Frostmoon and Stardust. After learning everything, Esmeralda now knows her mission: She will finish the business of her ancestor and put Khufra back to slumber, stopping his restarted reign of terror.

Esmeralda is a regen and mixed-damage specialty hero capable of ignoring shields and turn them into her own, and convert them to HP.

  • Her passive is Starmoon Casket. Each of her Basic Attacks hit twice, dealing Physical Damage (Stardust), and Magic Damage (Frostmoon) that gives the enemy hero a shield. All of Esmeralda's attacks ignore shields and passively transforms her shields into her HP.
  • Her first skill is Frostmoon Shield. Esmeralda gains some shield and extra movement speed, and gradually transforming nearby enemy heroes' into her own shield.
  • Her second skill is Stardust Dance. She attacks enemies around her. Each time it hits an enemy hero, the cooldown of Frostmoon Shield is reduced.
  • Her ultimate is Falling Starmoon. Esmeralda casts her Stardust in the designated location, before landing on the same spot and casting Frostmoon, immobilizing enemies hit.

  • Achilles' Heel: There are actually heroes who benefit more than extra shields, like Hanabi (gains crowd control immunity as long as she has a shield on her), so Esmeralda may want to be wary on giving her shield. Furthermore, regardless of how many shield points she can accumulate, some heroes like Baxia will tear through them without problems.
  • Arch-Enemy: With Khufra. Zig-zagged in a sense that he's enemies with his former lover Eslora, Esmeralda's astrologer ancestor. However, Khufra still goes after Esmeralda despite being a different individual, most likely due to her status being the successor of the astrologers, and her need to perform the same duty of sealing Khufra as Eslora once did.
  • Astrologer: She was chosen by the elders to become the successor of the astrologers in the present generation.
  • Close-Range Combatant: She's a Mage and Tank hybrid, meaning that she's more encouraged to get close to the enemies and start swinging and dealing magic damage. Her shields definitely help her in this part. For this, Esmeralda is one of the rare mage heroes who instead gets put in the EXP lane instead of mid lane.
  • Dance Battler: Her moves involve ritualistic astrologer dance moves. Add up with her own mystical shawls as weapons, Esmeralda is a very enchanting hero in battle.
  • Expy: Her name and dancing style signify that she's supposedly based on Esmeralda from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Nothing says that MLBB's Esmeralda is supposed to be a gypsy, however.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: She's the only hero who gives shields to enemies. However, they still count as an applied debuff, as shield-affecting items neither enhance nor weaken its effect, and the Purify battle spell rids of it completely.
  • No-Sell: Don't even try using shields against her. It'll not mitigate the damage you'll receive from her in any way.
  • Stripperiffic: Because she's also a dancer, she's not wearing much to cover her skins.

    Eudora, Lightning Weaver
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_eudora.png
"You should be ashamed for not trusting yourself."
Voiced by: Abigail Turner (English), Miho Morisaki (Japanese)

A Light Elf with affinity of lightning magic which was ruled by her emotions. Unfortunately, Eudora spent her childhood in a district near the Moniyan Empire that could be too outdated, thus she became a victim of bullying based on her race. After some cruel children tore away her flower friend solely to bully her, Eudora unleashed her unrestrained lightning magic power which leveled her neighborhood and her family had to move away. This repeated many times as long as someone started insulting her racial appearance.

Eventually, Eudora's talents were discovered by the Academy of Magic tutor named Theresa. She was invited to stay at the Academy of Magic, learning all she could about magic and becoming an instructor on her own, but she grew her hair long to hide her elven heritage.

Eventually, Theresa prepares to retire and names Eudora her successor, but some people catches wind of her elven heritage and starts doubting her succession. Learning this, Eudora has another emotional outburst that ruins her succession ceremony and is about to leave the Academy for good. However, Theresa manages to stop her by giving her a True-sight Mirror, allowing Eudora to come to terms with her elven heritage and to never be affected with racist remarks of others. After finally making peace with herself, Eudora cuts her hair short to let her elven ears be displayed in public and she walks with confidence about being herself.

Eudora is a Mage hero specializing in extreme burst damage, using her lightning to fry her target to the bone.

  • Her passive is Superconductor. Eudora's damaging skills inflict a Superconductor state temporarily. If Eudora hits an enemy with a Superconductor state with her skills, they will receive additional effects.
  • Her first skill is Forked Lightning. Eudora sends out lightning bolts to all enemies in a fan area in front of her, dealing damage. If she hits an enemy that has been inflicted with Superconductor, they receive additional damage after a delay.
  • Her second skill is Ball Lightning. Eudora launches a homing lightning ball to a target, dealing damage, stunning and reducing their magic defense. If the target has been inflicted with Superconductor, the lightning ball will split into smaller ones and spreads to up to 3 targets and deals additional damage and minorly stunning them. These smaller balls prioritize heroes.
  • Her ultimate is Thunder's Wrath. Eudora summons a mighty lightning bolt to an enemy and dealing huge damage. If her target has been inflicted with Superconductor, after a delay, dark cloud gathers above her target and then sends out another lightning bolt which deals damage and sends out several lightning charges to spread to nearby enemies, dealing further damage.

  • All of the Other Reindeer: Eudora has been a bullying victim since childhood because she's a Light Elf.
  • Art Evolution: Eudora's earlier designs actually had her using long hair. She later gets updated into a short haired lady, but Moonton also manages to link with her new story of coming to terms with her elven heritage.
  • Glass Cannon: Eudora is infamously known for her skill combos that take out squishy targets in almost a blink of an eye. The drawback? She absolutely has no escape skills and she's a Squishy Wizard.
  • Important Haircut: She cuts her long hair to show that she's moved past the bullying that distress her.
  • Our Elves Are Different: Basically a Light Elf, but it's kind of different than the typical High/Wood Elves hybrids like Miya.
  • Psychoactive Powers: Beforehand, Eudora's lightning power only activated when she got hit with so many emotional damages. Learning at the Academy of Magic tempered this a bit, but it's only after she comes to terms with herself that she averts the trope.
  • Shock and Awe: The token lightning mage of the game. Eudora can even put some lightning charges on her skills' targets so her further skills give even more lightning shock.
  • Skill Gate Characters: The most basic mage given to new players. Eudora is there to teach the basic of a Glass Cannon mage: Burst down your opposition before they do it to you.
  • Squishy Wizard: This game's definition of the trope. Eudora has untold magical power to burst her enemies to death... But if she can't kill her target fast enough, she's the one who pops in almost a blink of an eye.

    Gord, Professor of the Mystic

    Harith, Time Traveler
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_harith.png
"Magic is my life!"
A Leonin is mostly attuned with their magic power, living blissfully in their village in the Enchanted Forest protected by a magic barrier. Harith was born as the most talented in magic amongst the Leonins. In addition, unlike most Leonins who mostly used their magic to do mundane things, Harith has always been the one who took the magic training seriously, tempered with wisdom and desire to protect his village.

One day, Harith found the Enchanted Forest to be under attack by the forces of Abyss led by Helcurt. When Harith inquired about why they would do it, he learned that the Abyss was targeting a forbidden spell that could be unlocked if they master the magic used by the Leonin race. Harith was advised to head to Moniyan Empire to seek help in facing the Abyss, but in a fit of rage, Harith instead charged at Helcurt and the forces of Abyss. This got him surrounded, but he was luckily saved by a knight of the Empire, Alucard.

Taken to the Moniyan Empire and nursed back to health, Harith eventually joins the Moniyan Empire magic squad on the recommendation of Alucard, and even Tigreal acknowledged his prowess. Harith is granted the title "Imperial Master of Magic of the Moniyan Empire" and he uses his magic knowledge to safeguard the Moniyan Empire; despite facing prejudices in certain places for being a Leonin, Harith still believed in the good humans and Leonins alike, and dedicates his life to protect them and the Empire.

Harith is a Mage hero with multiple blinking potential, using his potent magical talent to zip around the battlefield in a short time while shooting out energies enhanced with magic here and there.
  • His passive is Key Insight. Depending on how many enemy heroes surrounding him, Harith gains additional crowd control reduction.
  • His first skill is Synchro Fission. Harith summons a crescent wave while also creating a phantom of himself at the opposite direction and have it summon another crescent wave. Enemies in the path of both waves will be damaged. When both waves meet at the center, they explode, causing another damage in the circle of explosion.
  • His second skill is Chrono Dash. Harith dashes to a direction. When he finishes his dash, he gains a shield and his next attack is enhanced to deal extra damage. Successfully hitting an enemy with his enhanced attack reduces the cooldown of the skill by 3 seconds, enabling Harith to dash again in a short time.
  • His ultimate is Zaman Force. Harith creates a sword-shaped field on the ground. On successful summoning, Chrono Dash will have its cooldown reduced by 4 seconds and those within the field is considerably slowed down movement-wise. If Harith passes through the field with Chrono Dash, he will reduce the cooldown of Synchro Fission and Chrono Dash by 1 and 3 seconds respectively.

  • Cooldown Manipulation: Harith's gimmick is how much he can reduce his cooldown by running and dashing around. Just don't forget to hit someone after dashing.
  • Crossdressing Voice: As a young Leonin, he gets to be voiced by a female voice actress in any languages he's in.
  • Little Bit Beastly: As a Leonin, Harith has cat ears and tails.
  • Mystical White Hair: The only Leonin who has white hair, and known as their best mage.
  • Ship Tease: It's said that Nana held a crush on him, but lore-wise they never meet officiallynote , so most likely the ship is abandoned. The introduction of Joy, however, gave Harith a fellow Leonin he interacts with and enough to look like some teases (even if Joy leaves him too).
  • Teen Genius: Known as the most talented magic user amongst Leonins, and Harith is considered of teenage age.
  • Time Master: Downplayed. While there are time and chrono imageries within Harith's skills, he lacks clock imageries or the more common tropes associated with it, like time reversal or stopping time altogether. He uses it more for Cooldown Manipulation, because cooldown revolves around its timer.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Harith's raw power actually is puny compared to Nana's explosive magic. However, Harith has a better control in it, making him more fitting as the Leonin race's best mage.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: Harith is the only Leonin who acts more like an adult than a hyperactive kid, unlike Joy or Nana (actually kids and childish, a bit for Joy) or Aulus (actually an old Leonin).

    Harley, Mage Genius

    Kadita, Ocean Goddess
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_kadita_6.png
"Hahaha... The Southern Seas are my domain!"
Voiced by: Alicia Gerrard (English), Ayano Niina (Japanese, Adventure)

Formerly a princess of a small, remote kingdom. Kadita had it all; beauty, intellect and compassion. However, her compatriots grew jealous that a group of black mages put a curse on her, causing her to lose her beauty and inflicted her with a fatal, incurable skin disease, and the people that loved her turned against her, plunging her into despair that she threw herself to the Southern Seas from a cliff to end her suffering. However, ocean demons rescued her, cured her from her affliction, granted her seven powerful spears to control the sea water, and even gave her beauty back tenfold... as their new Queen of the Southern Seas. After quickly adapting to her powers, Kadita eventually got her vengeance when she shipwrecked a ship containing the mages that cursed her, afterwards, she only concerns herself with the protection of the Southern Seas, repelling any invaders. Most people who traveled there often saw a visage of a beautiful mermaid that seemed more beautiful than the princess they knew before.

Kadita is a slippery Mage/Assassin hero that excels in getting in and out of fights while also dealing some serious burst damages with the power of water.

  • Her passive is Thalassophobia. Kadita gets a Blessing of the Ocean buff every 30 seconds if it's not there yet: If the blessing is active, when Kadita receives damage over 4 seconds, she will restore 65% of the damage to her afterwards.
  • Her first skill is Ocean Oddity. Kadita assumes her mermaid form and rides an ocean wave in a line, damaging and slowing those caught in the wave, and then goes back to her original position. During the period, she's immune to crowd controls and gets damage reduction. She can activate the skill again to get off the wave, the wave will still travel in the intended path.
  • Her second skill is Breath of the Ocean. Kadita marks a ground area and after a delay, a water geyser erupts, damaging and knocking up anyone caught in the geyser. Kadita can also activate this skill during Ocean Oddity, the geyser cycle will then appear immediately on her dropping point.
  • Her ultimate is Rough Waves. Kadita dives into the ground that suddenly turns into water, and unleashes multiple waves in many directions, which can hit the same enemy multiple times. From there, she can move around with increased speed and be untargetable. And after awhile, the water waves will converge back on her, dealing damage to whoever gets into the water wave's way. Kadita can also activate this skill immediately during Ocean Oddity.

  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Her sense of morality is basically: "Those who threaten the Southern Seas = Bad, Those who are good with it = Good"
  • Combos: Typical combo of Kadita that will guarantee big burst damage, if not outright kill squishy heroes:
    1. Get near an enemy using Ocean Oddity
    2. Activate Breath of the Ocean right next to said enemy.
    3. Immediately use Rough Waves and stick with said hero to ensure all waves hit the hero.
    4. If the hero still lives, you can use the Battle Spell 'Execute' to finish off that enemy.
  • Deity of Human Origin: She's revered as an Ocean Goddess, but she began her life as a human princess.
  • Expy: She's based on the Indonesian legends of Nyi Roro Kidul, a similar water deity of the southern seas. She even shared the name with the original identity of the legend (Dewi Kadita).
  • Fallen Princess: Kadita once was the definition of a Princess Classic. Some jealous people's antics later, she lost all her goodwill without her somehow doing something to deserve it.
  • Foil: To her Indonesian hero compatriot Gatotkaca, who is a tough but slow tank/fighter and usually known to be more benevolent and heroic and excels in long sustained battles; Kadita is a slippery mage/assassin who's good in slipping into the enemy ranks or catching a lone hero before eventually delivering a burst damage, and she's less compassionate than him.
  • Glass Cannon: As a Mage/Assassin, Kadita can deliver some serious damage and then getting away with it unscathed. But even with her passive giving her recovery options, she's still a Squishy Wizard that goes down if she's concentrated for a short time.
  • Hit-and-Run Tactics: Kadita excels at this. Ocean Oddity can be used as a poke without putting her on harm, and also doubles as an escape button, she's one of the few heroes that can bypass normal obstacles with such skills.
  • If It Swims, It Flies: Downplayed. Sure, she floats as a way of normal travel, and she can turn into a mermaid. But she's not going to be seen swimming on the air, she has to summon water first.
  • Making a Splash: She's the Ocean Goddess, no way she wouldn't be using her water.
  • Our Mermaids Are Different: She can temporarily gain fish tails, turning her into a mermaid. Usually she has to summon a body of water to facilitate it first.
  • Power Echoes: Her voice has an echo filter to represent how powerful she has become as the Goddess of the Ocean.
  • Revenge: When she learns that the mages that cursed her had the balls to sail over the Southern Seas, Kadita took her sweet, sweet time to sink their ships and horribly kill them.
  • The Smurfette Principle: The only female hero amongst heroes based on Southeast Asian figuresnote
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Kadita used to be a compassionate princess. When she turned into a sea queen, her kindness has kind of evaporated, she's now carrying herself with a condescending and haughty queen attitude that runs on Blue-and-Orange Morality.

    Kagura, Onmyouji Master

"占いってあげようか/Uranai tte ageyou ka"note
Voiced by: Cristina Valenzuela (English, first model), Charlet Chung (English, current model), Kana Hanazawa (Japanese, first model), Ayasa Goto (Japanese, current model), Rina Hidaka (Japanese, Adventure)
A descendant of the legendary Onmyouji master, Seimei, who held the mystical umbrella with immense magic power and the ability to choose its master. For generations, the Seimei Umbrella was unresponsive, no matter how many people prayed and hoped it would respond. That changes when Kagura visits the shrine. As a naughty girl, rather than praying, she instead climbed a tree while insisting she heard a voice. She suddenly slipped, and a nearby ninja boy, the younger son of the Scarlet Shadow Grandmaster, Hayabusa, who had been watching her climb the tree, leaped to save her. Suddenly, the Seimei Umbrella flew right onto the two and helped them land. Kagura realized that she was the one chosen to be the next wielder of the Seimei Umbrella. She then spent her childhood being Hayabusa's friend, playing and training together, while not forgetting her Onmyouji training. When Hayabusa leaves her for a dangerous mission, Kagura chooses to pursue and travel together with him. She braces herself against the dangers of the Land of Dawn and Hayabusa's main target, a dangerous ninja by the name of Hanzo.

Kagura is a Mage hero who tosses her magical Seimei Umbrella around to keep her enemies away while utilizing the Onmyouji magic that it provides to destroy her opponents.
  • Her passive is Yin Yang Gathering. If Kagura picks up the Seimei Umbrella, she gains a shield while also dealing damage to, stunning, and slowing nearby enemies.
  • Her first skill is Seimei Umbrella Open. Kagura throws the Seimei Umbrella in a direction, dealing damage to and slowing enemies caught in the path. The umbrella stays in place, and if the skill is cast again, the umbrella travels from its original position rather than from Kagura. The umbrella will return to her automatically when she walks too far away from it.
  • Her second skill is Rasho Umbrella Flee. Kagura cleanses herself from all crowd control and dashes in a direction, leaving behind her Seimei Umbrella in place. If she casts this when she doesn't have the Seimei Umbrella with her, she instead teleports to the umbrella location and deals damage to nearby enemies.
  • Her ultimate is Yin Yang Overturn. Kagura invokes the power of Seimei Umbrella and deals damage, slows down and knocks back enemies near her. If she casts this when she doesn't have the Seimei Umbrella with her, the power invocation occurs in the umbrella's location instead. And instead of knocking enemies back, after 1.5 seconds, enemies are instead pulled to the umbrella's location. Kagura also refreshes her first skill's cooldown this way so she can immediately reposition her umbrella to maximize the crowd control.

  • Badass Adorable: She's a cute, petite and soft spoken girl adept in magic (Onmyodo in particular). She's one of the more versatile mages, and a deadly one at that, that inhabited the Land of Dawn.
  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: Hayabusa's mood changed drastically after his brother died. Kagura continues to be gentle with him, preventing him from crossing the Despair Event Horizon.
  • Foil: She's this to Luo Yi, a fellow mage hero from Cadia Riverlands who dabbles with Yin-Yang magic and utilizing player skills to actually get the most of their damages. Kagura's Yin-Yang is purely cosmetics or downplayed, she's from the Japanese-like section of the riverlands, and she's a good-aligned character.
  • Gratuitous Japanese: When she speaks full Japanese, it's good. But in one of her quotes, before speaking in English, she just refers her parents as "To-san" and "Ka-san" instead of "Father" and "Mother". It's still a correct translation, but to put it before an English sentence...?
  • Never My Fault: Judging from her quotes, she's not exactly the kind of person you'd want to tell your fortunes. If the fortune works, then you can thank her great power. But if the fortune doesn't work, then it's not her lack of power's fault, maybe you just didn't try/pray hard enough!
"If it works, it's on me; if it doesn't, it's on you!"
  • Onmyōdō: She is an Onmyouji master, but her mastery does not come from a variety of cards.
  • Parasol of Pain: While she does not whack nor poke enemies with her Seimei Umbrella, she utilizes its magic to release powerful bursts of magic. She does, however, throw her umbrella around and getting hit with it hurts (although it's the magic released from the umbrella that hurts).
  • Parasol of Prettiness: The Seimei Umbrella also adds to her lovely appearance.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: She's the girly girl when compared to the more physically oriented and colder Hanabi. Kagura is empathic and compassionate in dealing with Hayabusa. She used to have some tomboyish streak when she was a kid (climbing up a tree after hearing the voice of the Seimei Umbrella), but it's all but gone now.
  • Yamato Nadeshiko: She is an ideal Japanese woman, although she originates from a place that can be said to be just an alternate equivalent of Japan. Kagura departs from home not just to be with her crush and protect him; she also takes it upon herself to defend her home from the rogue Hanzo.
  • Yin-Yang Bomb: Downplayed. While her passive and ultimate has "Yin-Yang" in their names, Kagura's magic has no immediately noticeable dualistic elements, in contrast to her fellow mages Lunox and Luo Yi. It may be justified that the explosions themselves are the resulting combined power of her and Seimei Umbrella together.
"The umbrella is yang, the human is yin."
  • Younger and Hipper: Before her visual update in Project NEXT, Kagura was more mature and dignified. It was Hayabusa who held a crush on her. After the update, Kagura was made into a younger, slightly more immature version to fit in being Hayabusa's childhood friend, and she's the one who had a crush on Hayabusa first.

    Lunox, Twilight Goddess
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_lunox.png
"Come and join me in my dream world."
Voiced by: Alicia Gerrard (English), Chihiro Takaoka (Japanese), Yukari Tamura (Japanese, ''Adventure)

Ever since before the formation of known factions of the Land of Dawn in the present day, the forces of Light and Abyss has been engaged in a forever war. But, from there, a man from the Shadow Abyss, Orfax, managed to fall in love with the maiden of the Light. After much hardship, his wife gave birth to Lunox, who immediately displayed a power to absorb both light and dark or order and chaos from the soldiers. They then lived with neutral Prophet tribe in peace, who protected the artifact to end all wars: the Twilight Orb (and was the reason why the two forces attacked the tribe).

Despite being bullied and ostracized for being different, Lunox grew up as a happy girl. However, the bullying started to secretly distress Lunox and she also found some sort of prophetic picture in which she may be involved. She managed to discover her power of light when she attempted to save a boy in a cave, and eventually started mastering her power of light, finally becoming a respected mage. However, time by time, Lunox would receive prophetic dreams. Some good, some utterly disastrous.

The peace did not last. The Shadow Abyss demons invaded again and this time, the villagers, including Lunox's parents, were murdered. They finally succeeded stealing the Twilight Orb, but fell into the ambush of the forces of Light, who wouldn't let the Abyssal force get away with it. Lunox was angry, but she had no strength to get up and fainted. In her dream, she encountered with the creator of the forces of Light and Abyss: The Ancient One. The Ancient One revealed that Lunox's destiny was to bring balance to the world, she needed to accept her fate in order to end the conflict. At first, Lunox was so angry at the loss of her parents that she wanted to punch the Ancient One in the face, but she stopped at the last second and accepted her fate.

Once she awakened, Lunox displayed a power to quell both the light and abyssal power, dispersing the two forces, but it came with the cost that she had to enter a deep slumber. She was sealed inside the Twilight Orb, and wouldn't wake up again until there was another war. Peace finally came... but not permanently.

In the present day, various conflicts and wars between light, abyss and humans break out once again. And because of this, the Twilight Orb explodes, causing mass destruction and turning the Agelta area into a barren desert, hence, the Agelta Drylands. Lunox wakes up without clear memories of her past, but she knows one mission: She must gather all the pieces of the Twilight Orb before any factions can misuse it. Accompanied with Belerick, who is looking for the missing Ancient One, Lunox embarks on a journey in a Land of Dawn new to her.

Lunox is a Mage hero who juggles between the balance of Order and Chaos, providing low-cooldown damage spells that fits her situation of either area damage or single target elimination.

  • Her passive is Dreamland Twist. Due to Lunox's circumstances, she cannot benefit from items that affect her cooldown reduction. In exchange, the effects are converted depending on what power is active for her. If the power of Order is the active one, the cooldown reduction bonus is converted into physical and magical defense. If the power of Chaos is the active one, the cooldown reduction bonus is converted into magic penetration.
  • Her first skill is Starlight Pulse. Lunox launches stars made of light to nearby enemies, damaging them and recovering her own HP based on how many enemies are hit. Hitting enemy heroes doubles her HP recovery amount. Using this skill will give her a stack of Power of Order and/or deduct one stack of the Power of Chaos.
  • Her second skill is Chaos Assault. Lunox shoots out an energy of chaos that homes to a single target, deals damage based on the target's max HP and slows down the target. Using this skill will give her a stack of Power of Chaos and/or deduct one stack of the Power of Order.
  • Her third skill is Cosmic Fission. Lunox sends out a wave of energy made of both Order and Chaos, dealing damage and slowing whoever caught in the path significantly.
  • Her ultimate will depend on what mode Lunox is mainly in, signified with whichever side (Order/Chaos) is active, seen in the stacks built up by Starlight Pulse (Order) or Chaos Assault (Chaos). Only one side can be active at a timeExample of how it works. They do not share cooldown.
    • If the Order side is active, the ultimate becomes Power of Order: Brilliance. Lunox surrounds herself inside a Light Barrier, constantly dealing damage over half a second for 3 seconds. During this period, she's completely immune to damage and untargetable.
    • If the Chaos side is active, the ultimate becomes Power of Chaos: Darkening. Lunox blinks to a direction and unleashes a wave of energy as she arrives to her destination, dealing damage to nearby enemies and slowing them. After using this, for 4 seconds forward, Chaos Assault absolutely has no cooldown, so Lunox can spam it as she likes.

  • Amnesiac Hero: Due to being asleep inside the Twilight Orb for millenniums, Lunox has forgotten about her past, only remembering extremely tiny bits of it. All she remembers is that she has a mission and the power to control the energy of order and chaos, and she wants to protect the world that she loves.
  • Badass Adorable: One of the most powerful being in the Land of Dawn, controlling the phenomenal power of both order/light and chaos/dark... all in the form of one very cute and adorable teenage girl. Also deconstructed in a way that she's given such power thanks to the union of two opposing forces and a bit of tweaking from the Ancient One; in process, Lunox has to go through a series of heartbreaking traumatic experiences that a girl of her age shouldn't have gone through.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Well, she wanted to punch the Ancient One for creating the Shadow Abyss and the forces of Light which brought her nothing but grief and robbed her from her parents too. But Lunox stopped in the last seconds and accepted her fate, averting the trope.
  • Light/Darkness Juxtaposition: Like her fellow mage Luo Yi, her ability to control Order and Chaos are themed after light and darkness, respectively.
  • Nice Girl: She's a little doozy after waking up from the Twilight Orb, but if there's one thing Lunox carries from her past, it's her personality of a sweetheart who wants to help others in need.
  • Purple Is the New Black: Similar to Luo Yi's Yin-based skills, her Chaos-based skills have magenta-hued undertones instead of being directly black in color.
  • Reality Warper: In theory, she can project her dream into the reality and change the reality as she sees fit. But this is never displayed in the gameplay, where she mostly focuses between balancing between Order and Chaos. Mostly because it'll be difficult to implement and will make her an unbalanced mess.
  • Spam Attack: Both her first and second skills generally possess very low cooldown, so Lunox can spam them at a normal pace, the better to switch to her main power. Taken to greater lengths with Power of Chaos: Darkening, it allows her to spam Chaos Assault with impunity because the cooldown is reduced to absolutely zero.
  • Stance System: An unorthodox user of this trope. The Order or Chaos stances only changes Lunox's ultimate, but passively affects how Lunox plays: Order side allows her to become a sustain-based area damage mage, while Chaos side allows her to become a Glass Cannon single-target eliminating mage.
  • Winged Humanoid: She comes with unusually shaped wings, but the most stand-out feature is that they represent Order (white) and Chaos (black).
  • Yin-Yang Bomb: She fuses the power of Order and Chaos with Cosmic Fission, dealing damage and slowing targets down. This is why casting the skill will not affect her Order/Chaos stacks.

    Luo Yi, Yin-Yang Geomancer
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_luo_yi.png
"Gaze the stars and seek your path."
Voiced by: Chihiro Takaoka (Japanese),

Luo Yi is a practitioner of Yin-Yang Geomancy, a school of magic under the Xiuzhen Practice. Yin-Yang Geomancers manipulated the seemingly opposing forces of Yin and Yang, which is present in everything. They once thrived long ago in the past, but they were exiled by the Great Dragon due to their advocacy of the Black Dragon's warmongering ideology and soon faced gradual decline.

Their culture faded as the Geomancers gave up their culture to live a life of simplicity. However, as Luo Yi clung into the hope of restoring their glory and a rightful ruler would seize the throne of Cadia Riverlands. She traveled far and wide across the Land of Dawn, disappointment after disappointment, only to find the Black Dragon's reincarnated form, Yu Zhong, weak and unaware of his past life. Determined to set fulfill his destiny, Luo Yi traveled with Yu Zhong and gradually passed down her knowledge and his past identity. Before long, she parted ways to give Yu Zhong time to become stronger and witness the truth of the world.

Finally, when Yu Zhong appeared before her once more, he had undergone several transformations from his old self, more powerful and reborn. Since then, Luo Yi dedicated her life to helping Yu Zhong whenever she can to prepare for his true return and accomplish her mission to complete the Black Dragon's reincarnation.

Luo Yi is a support and crowd control-specialty mage who can polarize groups of enemies like magnets with Yin or Yang energy, forcing them to collide if they stay too close to one another.

  • Her Passive is Duality. Luo Yi creates Sigils of Yin (dark) or Yang (light) on the battlefield, lasting 6 seconds. When opposite Sigils come close enough, they will trigger a Yin-Yang Reaction that pulls targets together, damaging and stunning them for 1 second. If she swaps an enemy's existing Sigil, she gains some shield and movement speed for a while.
  • Her first skill is Dispersion. Luo Yi casts Yin/Yang energy forward that splashes in a cone behind the first enemy hit, marking them with a Sigil of Yin/Yang. She can store up to four charges, gaining one every few seconds. She can also immediately acquire one charge by triggering a Yin-Yang Reaction
  • Her second skill is Rotation. Luo Yi summons a Fire of Yang/Aqua of Yin circle that slows enemies in its range while dealing incremental damage. It can also cause Yin-Yang Reactions with opposite Sigils.
  • Her ultimate is Diversion. Luo Yi teleports herself and her allies across large distances on the map. It also passively reduces her skills' cooldown by a small percentage.

  • Area of Effect: All of her skills have some sort of radial areas of effect:
    • Enemies marked by Dispersion have radial indicators that show how close they can be to others before a Yin-Yang Reaction can take effect (assuming they have opposite Sigils).
    • Rotation has an equally-large radius that acts as a stand-alone Sigil that lasts for six seconds.
    • Diversion teleports everyone standing in its teleportation circle.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: The aptly-named "Double Passive/Stun" technique, which requires some setting up to execute. It's useful for dealing burst damage in the early game, but falls off in the late game due to its delayed damage and stun.
  • Brains Evil, Brawn Good: The only mage hero hailing from Cadia Riverlands (Dragon Altar area) and she is an antagonistic force, even imparting some of her wisdom to train Yu Zhong and make him craftier (despite being a physical fighter).
  • Color Contrast: Her default skin uses yellow and purple for Yang and Yin, respectively. Other colors used in her other skins involve bright cyan and dark red (Tenko), yellow and blue (Elysium Guardian), and orange and blue (Oracle of Sol). Downplayed in her other skins where the colors are analogous, such as yellow and red (Dawning Fortune), and light blue and dark blue (Siren Priestess).
  • Consistent Clothing Style: Across all of her skins, Luo Yi's outfits always feature flowy sleeves and her signature face veil.
  • Cooldown Manipulation: Upgrading Diversion for the first time gives her a 6% cooldown reduction bonus. The next two upgrades increases the percentage by 2%, with a total of 8% at the second upgrade and 10% at maximum.
  • Cultured Badass: Not only Luo Yi is magically gifted, she is also a prodigy in various forms of art such music, chess, calligraphy, painting, and poetry.
  • The Determinator: She searched far and wide for the reincarnated Black Dragon. Failures only strengthened her resolve and her hard work paid off when she finally found Yu Zhong.
  • Death or Glory Attack: A build purely focused on burst damage allows her to decimate squishy targets at the cost of being more punishing if she misses, considering how long her cooldowns can be without purchasing CDR-based items.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: Luo Yi's ultimate deals no damage, and the bulk of her offense comes from triggering Yin-Yang Reactions via Duality using her non-ultimate skills, which by themselves don't hit as hard. Their automatic Yin/Yang swapping mechanic may take some time getting used to; however, once you get accustomed to using both skills in tandem, she can effectively deliver crowd stuns while also dealing heavy damage to them.
  • The Dragon: She serves as Yu Zhong's second-in-command, and he's the Big Bad of the Cadia Riverlands story arc. She also doubles as the Evil Genius since she's spiritual-based and uses her magic and guile/ambush to facilitate her deeds.
  • Femme Fatalons: Downplayed in the actual arts as she just happens to have sharp, but not overly long nails. However, in the comics when she tried to remind Yu Zhong of his past life, her nails are drawn to be longer. Since she's supposed to be this ominous antagonist who changed Yu Zhong's life, it fits the theme of 'untrustworthy female with long nails' (as far as traditional heroism of the Oriental Fighters go. From Yu Zhong's POV, she is trustworthy).
  • Fighting for a Homeland: Her ancestors were once banished from Cadia Riverlands for being followers of the Black Dragon. Growing up listening to her father's stories and legends about the past, she vowed to carry out the mission of bringing back their homeland once more.
"The future of Cadia Riverlands is in our hands."
  • Foil: She's this to Kagura, a fellow mage hero from Cadia Riverlands who dabbles with Yin-Yang magic and utilizing player skills to actually get the most of their damages. Luo Yi's Yin-Yang is well-implemented within her own kit, she's from the Chinese area of the riverlands, and she's an antagonistic force to the heroic Oriental Fighters.
  • Friendly Fireproof: If there are both Luo Yis in the allied and opposing sides, Yin-Yang Reactions will only work for the side who placed them. For instance, marked enemies will only trigger reactions on opposite Sigils placed by an allied Luo Yi (via Dispersion or Rotation). The same applies for the enemy side as well.
  • Ice Queen: According to her lore, she tends to distance herself from others and is rather unsocial, but deep down she wished she can be more open to others. Coincidentally, she is also a suitable user of the aptly-named, movement-slowing Ice Queen Wand item, complementing her multi-hitting abilities and limit enemies from easily approaching her.
  • Idol Singer: According to Wanwan's 515 M-World web event profile, Luo Yi is a famous idol in the M-World and she aspires to be like her one day. Ironic because they're adversaries in the actual lore.
  • I Regret Nothing: Luo Yi had faced her own challenges from searching for the reincarnated Black Dragon, to helping him prepare to seize the throne of Cadia Riverlands. Even if she'd look like a villain to others, her will to carry out what she started remains strong.
"Never look back if you have nothing to regret."
  • Light/Darkness Juxtaposition: Like her fellow mage Lunox, her Yin and Yang powers allude to darkness and light, respectively.
  • Light Is Not Good: She primarily wears white and can wield Yang energy, but she serves as the Oriental Fighters' adversary. From her perspective, her ancestors had been living in exile and in incognito for several generations - why wouldn't she fight for their right to live in their homeland?
  • Logical Weakness: Because of the nature of her in-game skills, Luo Yi becomes less efficient against scattered or lone targets. She also may have difficulty fighting against high-speed heroes with teleports or dashes, or enemies who can outrange her.
  • Magnetism Manipulation: A fantasy-based variant. Her Yins and Yangs work as this in-game, and her code name prior to her release was "Magnet Mage." Also played with, as same-polarized targets don't cause any reactions, note  and she cannot apply Sigils on creeps or minions.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: She's meant to exploit enemies who like to huddle too much. The closer they are, the easier it is for her to apply a Sigil and do Yin-Yang Reactions on them in one go.
  • Pillar of Light: Enemies involved in a Yin-Yang Reaction have columns of light appear on them as they get dragged to another enemy (or a Fire of Yang/Aqua of Yin on the field).
  • Purple Is the New Black: Similar to Lunox's Chaos-based skills, her Yin-based skills are hued with violet instead of the usual black associated with the taijitu symbol.
  • Solar and Lunar: In her "Oracle of Sol" skin, her entrance animation and skills evoke lunisolar imagery, including eclipses (particularly a solar eclipse).
  • Spam Attack: A build focused on CDR allows her to successively cast Dispersion to make the target prone to Yin-Yang Reactions via Rotation or another marked target, at the cost of not being able to max out her damage.
  • Splash Damage: A downplayed example. When her Dispersion projectiles hit a target, it splashes over a cone (or more accurately, a circular sector) rather than a circle. Its splash radius is approximately equal to the Yin-Yang Reaction radius of marked enemies.
  • Summon Magic: Rotation is classified as such by the game. She can summon an "Aqua of Yin" or a "Fire of Yang," a non-physical entity with its own Yin/Yang polarity which can react with marked enemy heroes. It also counts as a ward, providing temporary vision for enemies nearby and inside bushes.
  • Teleport Interdiction: Diversion creates an indicator on both its origin and destination, giving enemies time to anticipate your arrival. Fortunately, casting the destination in a bush will hide the teleportation circle, and only your allies can see where you're going in the mini-map.
  • True Companions: Played with. Interestingly, while she has established her life with Yu Zhong, her character story only establishes them being allies at most. This reflected in her voice lines where she mentions "trust" and "synergy" rather than "friendship."
  • Yin-Yang Bomb: Luo Yi can wield both. If applied on the field, the energies combine - affected units will violently collide with each other, dealing heavy damage and also stunning them in the process.

    Lylia, Little Wizard
  • Growing Up Sucks: She considers adults boring and doesn't want to be like them.
"Adults are so boring. I don't want to grow up."
  • Having a Blast: Lylia's overall game plan involves chaining explosions by placing Shadow Energy for Gloom to eat as it zips around the field.

    Nana, Sweet Leonin
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_nana.png
"Do you want to make friends with Nana?"
Voiced by: Chie Shishido (Japanese), Saki Ono (Japanese, Adventure)

The naughtiest Leonin amongst her peers living in the Moonlit Forest. Every time Nana tried to help people with her magic, her overexcitement caused the magic to instead backfire and cause chaos, thus everyone distanced themselves from Nana. However, she has exactly one loyal friend: A leopard-like cat creature known as Molina. Despite Nana thinking that she'll just cause further trouble for Molina, the creature still acted as a loyal friend. One day, Nana accidentally created her biggest mess so far: The Leonin decided to create a playground known as Meow Playground and Nana participated in the brainstorming. Once the playground was created, Nana got so excited that she got drunk and her magic went out of control, destroying the playground.

Realizing what she has done, Nana quietly left the Leonins before they could scold her like hell. She sought to find a way to control her magic better so she wouldn't make a mess again. According to Molina, there was a magical fruit within the Shadow Swamp which allowed the eater to control their magic better. Nana headed there, but she didn't realize the swamp was full with monsters. Molina sacrificed itself to protect her, and Nana was able to drive away the monsters with her magic once she had firm control over it by successfuly eating the fruit. In its dying breath and seeing Nana finally saddened after her constant rejection of it out of the concern of its safety, Molina passed its powers to Nana, giving her the power of transformation.

That was the beginning of Nana's journey, there's still a lot for her to learn in this vast world. One day, she will return to her home as a more responsible Leonin.

Nana is a tricky Mage hero who utilizes the raw power of magic and transformation skills either on herself, or her target.

  • Her passive is Molina's Gift. If Nana takes fatal damage, she temporarily transforms into Molina, gains immunity to all damage and crowd control, recovers a small portion of HP, gaining movement speed and allowing her to escape unharmed temporarily. This passive has a considerable cooldown of 2 minutes, but if activated, allows Nana to escape death.
  • Her first skill is Magic Boomerang. Nana throws a boomerang to a direction, damaging and slowing enemies hit. The damage is reduced if it hits the same hero on the way back.
  • Her second skill is Molina Smooch. Nana throws a figure of Molina to the ground. It stays stationary there until a certain amount of time or an enemy hero approaches it. When approached by an enemy hero, the Molina figure starts running to the hero; when they collide, said hero is transformed into a Molina-like critter for a few seconds. On transformation, the hero takes damage, gets reduced movement speed and magic defense.
  • Her ultimate is Molina Blitz. Nana summons the spirit of Molina to blast a circular area (leaving behind its paws in gigantic size) three times, with the next blast occuring in front of the previous one. They deal big damage to heroes caught and slow the heroes down. If the same hero is hit more than once, they get stunned.

  • Boxing Lessons for Superman: Her arc is this. Nana is already strong, but has no controls of her power. So, she sought the fruit so she can better control her powers rather than flailing around with unchecked destruction.
  • Forced Transformation: You are wondering, what's that cute critter Nana throws at the ground. The critter approaches you and... you become that critter. That's Nana's fighting style in a nutshell.
  • Little Bit Beastly: As a Leonin she has some animalistic elements, in her case, minor fox ears and tail.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Blowing up the Meow Playground by accident is the wake up call for Nana that she needs to find a way to control her powers for good, or else she'll only be known as the one who brings destruction everywhere she goes. Which means... no more friends for her.
  • Stepford Smiler: Nana is the happiest, most cheerful (and naughtiest) Leonin you'll ever meet! Also, she's still pretty depressed on blowing up the Meow Playground, losing Molina, and at the moment, she's still considered being 'rejected' by her fellow Leonins thanks to what she has done.
  • Third-Person Person: Occasionally, she refers herself with her own name. It puts emphasis to her childishness.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Nana's got raw power with her magic. Her problem is that she absolutely has no control over it. Part of her quest and resolve is to fix the 'Unskilled' into 'Skilled' so she won't cause trouble anymore.

    Odette, Swan Princess
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_odette.png
"Love outshines the golden crown."
Voiced by: Yuki Dosaka (Japanese), Kana Ueda (Japanese, Adventure)

The Princess of the noble house of Alvin of the Moniyan Empire, residing within the Swan Castle. Odette spent her childhood in tranquility, but she was forbidden to step outside her castle. When she reached adolescence, Odette finally gathered enough courage to sneak away from the castle while disguising as a commoner, finally experiencing the taste of adventure. However, Odette was terribly naive about the dangers of the world outside, when she visited a tavern, she ended up being harassed by thugs. She was only saved when a drunk Lancelot intervened on her behalf, then passed out from his wounds due to the ensuing fight.

Odette took Lancelot back to Swan Castle and nursed him back to health, as she also enjoyed her time with Lancelot and his heroic stories, sword training, and music. But she knew that her time was fleeting since her father would probably marry her to another man. The day finally comes, and Odette hears the news that Duke Baroque is proposing to her for his son. Odette is annoyed at first, but later manages to piece the facts together that Lancelot may be the runaway son of Duke Baroque. She is overjoyed at this, but before she can inform Lancelot, he has somehow left with a farewell letter, a hopeful one that they will meet again. Not wanting to wait further, Odette sneaks from the Swan Castle again, this time determined to reunite with her one true love.

Odette is a poke-and-burst specialty mage whose skills are geared to primarily deal damage with her music-based magic in the shape of a swan.

  • Her passive is Lakeshore Ambience. Odette throws a musical note with her Basic Attack that rebounds between her and enemies after casting a skill.
  • Her first skill is Avian Authority. Odette summons a swan in a designated direction that slows enemies hit.
  • Her second skill is Blue Nova. Odette throws a pair of magic energy spheres that immobilizes the first enemy hit. The second energy ball will home to a nearby target that prioritizes enemy heroes, and immobilizing them as well.
  • Her ultimate is Swan Song. Odette leaps forward in a designated direction, continually damaging enemies over a large area until the skill ends or is interrupted.

  • Animal Motifs: She evokes the imagery of a swan in herself and her magic, since she's supposed to be a homage to Swan Lake.
  • Black Magician Girl: Ironically for someone who wears a dress themed on a white swan, she is all about damage and is stronger and with less health than other mages without needing any combos to trigger more damage like is the case of Eudora post nerf.
  • Goggles Do Nothing: Her sword is an accessory and she does not use it for battle, it's probably not even made for actual combat. She insists that she sometimes uses her sword, but we never see it in action.
  • The Ingenue: Odette is an absolute sweetheart, but she can be really clueless on how the world works thanks to her Sheltered Aristocrat past.
  • Magic Music: Odette's magic abilities include several music tone imageries, if she's not using a swan image. It's most likely something she learned from being in House Alvin.
  • One True Love: Fell for Lancelot and once he left, she considered him this, if we take how their portrayed in-game it means that in current days they reunited and are together.
  • Rescue Romance: Her love live started when a drunk Lancelot, out of his own chivalrous gut, saved her from thugs.
  • Pretty Princess Powerhouse: She's of royalty and obviously a princess. She's one of the more iconic, destructive mage heroes amongst the heroes of Land of Dawn.
  • Sheltered Aristocrat: Odette spent her youth never leaving the Swan Castle because her father forbade her. It got her curious enough to travel the Land of Dawn, but made her unprepared for the dangers lurking there.
  • Shout-Out: She's one for Swan Lake. From her name, her swan motifs to how she occasionally hums the song.

    Pharsa, Wings of Vengeance

    Vale, Windtalker
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_vale.png
"My magic flows as freely as the winds."
  • Blow You Away: He's the boy who's like wind.
  • Composite Character: He combines both aspects of Janna and Kha'Zix. Vale has the wind powers similar to Janna, but can evolve his skills in the same manner as Kha'Zix. He only differs in a way that he ends up being a burst mage in the mid lane, not a jungler or support like the two.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Aside from a few accessories, Vale's default skin depicts him wearing next to nothing for a top, showing his muscular physique all the way.
  • Mutually Exclusive Power Ups: Through Windtalk, Vale can upgrade each his skills either in terms of raw power or increased utility, but not both. Once the player has made their choice, they'll have to stick with it for the rest of the battle.

    Valentina, Prophetess of the Night

    Valir, Son of Flames

"Everything engulfed in flames!"
Voiced by: Yusuke Tomioka (Japanese), Tomokazu Sugita (Japanese, Adventure)

Valir was born as the prince of the Fire Kingdom in Agelta Drylands. A prodigy in Fire Magic, he quickly became best friends with the neighboring prince of the Valley of the Winds, Vale, as the two kingdoms cooperated for survival. But eventually, something changed within both regions, and the Valley of the Winds took over the Fire Kingdom. Valir knew that foul play was in hand and his father was unfairly killed in process. In turn, he left Vale and departed to find a way to get more powerful and avenge his father... a showdown would be inevitable.

Valir's journey led him to the Magic Academy at the Northern Vale, where he became one of the best students taught by Professor Gord. However, Valir then started dabbling in the forbidden arts of combining his fire magic and pure arcane magic. Gord did not allow such act to sully the purity of arcane magic, but Valir did that anyway, resulting a huge explosion in the Academy and once again, Valir had to flee the scene. Valir eventually found a powerful volcano named "Inferno of Fire", where he ended up residing there for five years to hone his magic further. In no time, he would become the Son of Flames.

After five years, Valir finally has a visitor... his old friend Vale. He's still trying to convince Valir to go back, but Valir is not yet done with his training to achieve the ultimate power. But their innate magical power naturally draws to each other, and a fight breaks out. And then, they are interrupted by Gord, who confronts Valir for his continued usage of combining fire and arcane magic. The fight turns into a three-way one, and this aggravates the volcano so much that it collapses. Valir is nowhere to be seen afterwards, but both Vale and Gord know that he survived that. He'll be back to finish what he started: be the official Son of Flames and take revenge on the Valley of the Winds for his father's murder.

Valir is the fire-based Mage hero who uses his flame to either burn his enemies or keep them away from him, giving him a defensive option for a supposedly squishy mage.

  • His passive is Ashing. Every time Valir hits an enemy with a skill, he places a Blaze mark which deals damage over time based on their max HP for 4 seconds. If he manages to place three marks, he causes an explosion that deals burst damage based on their max HP and stuns them.
  • His first skill is Burst Fireball. Valir throws a fireball to a direction. If the fireball comes in contact with any enemies, it explodes, deals damage and slows enemies in the nearby area. After explosion, the ground will be ignited, after a few delays, it will deal another damage. Valir can store up to 2 fireballs in a time, if he manages to hit an enemy hero, he immediately gains one extra fireball. With his ultimate active, the range and damage are increased.
  • His second skill is Searing Torrent. Valir unleashes a wave of fire in a cone, dealing damage and pushing enemies caught in the wave away. With his ultimate active, Valir also creates a fire wall at the edge of the wave. Enemies that touch the fire wall will be slowed and receive damage over time.
  • His ultimate is Vengeance Flame. Valir starts tapping into the arcane power and combining it with his fire magic, entering a powered-up state and gaining 4 tokens of Vengeance Flame. On casting, he removes all crowd control effects and gains a massive movement speed boost that decays over time. The next time he casts his normal skill, he will consume one Vengeance Flame token to enhance the skill (as described above) and increase their damage.

  • Deceptive Disciple: He learns under Gord, but instead of an innocent student turned evil, Valir has always kept his ulterior motives of gaining more power.
  • Insistent Terminology: He's very insistent on what he's using in particular.
    "Magic? No, this is arcane!"
  • Never Found the Body: Valir is nowhere to be seen after the collapse of Inferno of Fire. Vale and Gord write him off to be 'most definitely not dead, corpse is missing.'
  • Playing with Fire: Valir is the one and only fire mage in the Land of Dawn. It also shows that he specializes in damage over time by burning his enemies.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Naturally, he's the hotheaded red oni to the coolheaded blue oni that is Vale. The fire magic and more aggressive personality are the giveaways.
  • Revenge: His father may be considered a cruel man, but Valir still respects him and is nonplussed when the Valley of the Winds killed him and then took over his kingdom to boot.
  • Rival Turned Evil: He used to be a bestie and Friendly Rival of Vale. But things go south quickly, and they are on opposing side.

    Vexana, Shimmer of Hope
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_vexana.png
"Hope will find a way even when all is forlorn."
Voiced by: Konomi Inagaki (Japanese), Manaka Iwami (Japanese, Adventure)
Vexana Gaius, the daughter of Lord Gaius, was betrothed to Duke Atticus of Ridgeburg in order to unite the two Houses of Atticus and Gaius via their marriage. Having left the city to cleanse a demonic infestation by the borders, the Duke left a day prior to his fiancé's arrival, sending her letters in his travels to alleviate Vexana's worries.

While she lived a rather peaceful life, she was deeply worried by her fiancé's whereabouts, as they only communicated via letters. Despair dashed her heart when he stopped communicating, though with the citizens of Ridgeburg by her side, she carried on and continued to perform her duties as a duchess.

Two years passed and Vexana has matured as a leader. When she got to see her fiancé for the first time, she was only met back with a resigned look and distant gaze. With the Duke consumed by the Abyss, he unleashed abyssal forces to ravage everything in sight. Just when he was about to put Vexana to the sword, she called out to him and with a brief moment of consciousness, the Duke ordered Leomord to pierce his heart for the safety of their people. In his dying breath, he reveals the royal secret of the Ridgeburgs: A curse made brought by the resentment of dying warriors can repel the Abyssal forces, but can make everything else suffer a fate worse than death.

Vexana casted the curse to protect her people and as time passed, Ridgeburg fell into ruin and eventually came to be known as "Necrokeep." Embracing the role of the city's ruler, the Duchess chose to stay for her people until she can find a way to make them live life normally once again.

Vexana is a poking and crowd-controlling specialty mage that utilizes various CC effects and can summon a helper to aid her in battle.
  • Her passive, Nether Touch, applies a Nether Curse on enemies hit, lasting 5 seconds. If the target dies while cursed, an explosion will occur, damaging nearby enemies.
  • Her first skill is Deathly Grasp. Vexana releases a Phantom Claw forward, terrifying the first enemy hero hit for 1 second. An explosion will occur right after, also terrifying enemies caught in the blast.
  • Her second skill is Cursed Blast. She marks an area with the power of the undead, slowing enemies, then a blast of Nether Energy will strike down after a short delay.
  • Her ultimate is Eternal Guard. Vexana summons an Undead Knight at the specified location, knocking airborne enemies hit. The Undead Knight joins her in battle for 15 seconds, and can attack independently from her while active. She can also call it back to her side once per summon.

  • Beauty Equals Goodness: Pre-revamp Vexana is a ghastly and hideous woman who plays 'the evil necromancer lady' cliche straight. Once she gets revamped, Vexana got prettier and her story was revamped greatly that she's a now sympathetic and benevolent character. So, her moral axis goes up as she gets prettier.
  • Character Development: She started out as an inexperienced princess who hasn't stepped outside the Moniyan's capital city at all, to a capable duchess performing royal duties, to a protector of her people against the Abyssal forces.
  • Fate Worse than Death: The citizens of Necrokeep became undead due to the curse. Despite being locked into stasis, they still attempt to carry out mundane activities just to experience a semblance of living, even if such actions contribute nothing to lifting the curse.
  • I Did What I Had to Do: She casted the curse of the Ridgeburgs as a last-ditch attempt to save the city from the clutches of the Abyss, in exchange for cursing everyone (and likely herself as well). Despite this, the residents were thankful rather than hateful for their duchess' actions in protecting them from harm.
"The residents, however, came and surrounded their young duchess, not with blame or hatred but to thank her for saving them from the Abyss's grasp."
  • Knight in Shining Armor: Vexana's Undead Knight. It may not be shiny, but it definitely counts as one, coming to her aid via Eternal Guard. The Undead Knight is also featured in all of her splash arts as well.
  • Lighter and Softer: Her revamped appearance rids her of her ghastly appearance in favor of a youthful, princess-like appearance, befitting her role as the city's benevolent protector.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Pre-revamp Vexana is a much more malicious character, playing the 'evil necromancer lady' archetype straight. Post-revamp, she is portrayed as a much more sympathetic person and being more conveniently beautiful to boot.
  • Mama Bear: She's this to Necrokeep's citizens, vowing to protect them from the forces of the Abyss. This was highlighted in the Wedding in the Mist animated trailer, where she is accompanied by a young boy and girl both prior to and after casting the curse.
Vexana: "Think twice before you lay your fingers on us."
  • Our Souls Are Different: According to her fourth Mastery Code, the Undead Knight is a the converged form of all the souls of Necrokeep's warriors, with Atticus' soul in the Knight's heart, guarding her even after their deaths.
  • Retcon: Prior to her revamp, Vexana was the queen of an unknown kingdom (now known as Necrokeep) who had their king seduced by Alice. In an attempt to win his heart again, Vexana dealt with the dark forces, requiring the sacrifice of a beautiful maiden to the Abyss in exchange for restoring her beauty. The kingdom weakened over time and with no sacrifices left, she was devoured by the darkness, giving her the ghastly appearance she had in the present.
  • Summon Magic: Vexana's summons are central to her gameplay in both of her incarnations. Pre-revamped Vexana's Cursed Oath makes her simply summon a puppet copy of an enemy. Current Vexana's Eternal Guard makes her summon an Undead Knight in a more dynamic fashion, with it crashing from above and knocking airborne any enemies caught in the landing site.

    Xavier, Defiler of Light
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mlbb_xavier.png
"This time, the choice is mine."
Voiced by: Yukihiro Nozuyama (Japanese)

Half-Light Elf son of a merchant in the Moniyan Empire, gifted with intelligence thanks to his elven heritage. Rather than using his intelligence to continue his family business, Xavier instead joined the Monastery of Light and became known as prodigy. Life would seem to be pretty idyllic for Xavier in the monastery with studying mystic magic in the library that enhanced his magical prowess and playing 'war games' with animals.

But that changed when his talent was discovered by an insidious bishop of the Monastery of Light, Rod Sidon. After Xavier was drafted as a Knight of Light, thinking that it was a genuinely good force of good, he got assigned to suppress a certain Free Smiths Guild. His order was to support the church's task force the "Ravens" to eradicate this guild branded as heretics. But Xavier instead became horrified and disillusioned at just how brutal and indiscriminate the massacre was; women and children were not spared. The head of the Free Smiths Guild, Terizla, was arrested long ago and his wife called out Xavier about falling for the monastery's propaganda, they're actually innocent, and she got Killed Mid-Sentence by the Ravens. All Xavier could do was to save that woman's (and Terizla's) child, Julian, and put him in an orphanage later; and then he ordered a full evacuation of the Ravens against the Church's orders.

Fellow Arbiter of Light Alucard sympathized with Xavier's plight and tried his best to cover for Xavier's noble retreat, but Sidon eventually caught wind of it. Xavier ended up being punished by being reassigned to the border areas of Moniyan Empire. Over time, Xavier became more and more disillusioned with the corruption within the Monastery of Light.

One day, Xavier is called back to eliminate certain two heretics sneaking into his old patrolling city, Lumina City. What he sees is instead Yin and Melissa being pursued by not just the Ravens, but also abyssal forces under Alice. Seeing Yin protect a child instantly reminds him of the incident with the Free Smiths guild and saving Julian. At this point, Xavier decides that enough is enough. He betrays the Monastery of Light and joins up with Yin and Melissa to uncover the truth within the Land of Dawn, making him the third member of the Forsaken Light group. Though little did he know that Julian somehow held a grudge against him about the incident, but they will meet again shortly...

  • Baritone of Strength: He has a deep voice to match his strong magical abilities as he fights against the principles of the Arbiters of Light.

  • Form-Fitting Wardrobe: A subtle one. His cloak has contours that follow his chest and abdomen not noticeable at first glance.

  • Half-Human Hybrid: Xavier was born to a human father and a Light-Elf mother, giving him the power to wield magic like his matrilineal heritage.

  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: The conscience in Xavier's heart became more conflicting as he eliminated heretics as per commands by the church. By the time he met Yin and Melissa, he already knew what he needed to follow.
Xavier: "This time, the choice is mine."
