Sunohara Residents
In General
- All Women Are Lustful:
- Pretty much every female resident of Sunohara-sou is perverted to some degree, and most of them exhibit this by seeing Aki as a cute boy they can treat as a toy.
- Nana and Yuri are the worst offenders who have been physical with Aki a fair few times, with Nana even trying to get dirty thoughts into Aki's head when she presents herself.
- Cast Full of Crazy: Things are rarely sane around Sunohara-sou.
- Like Brother and Sister: Invoked with Aki and the other girls of Sunoharu, especially Ayaka and Sumire who openly have declared themselves Aki's onee-chan.
- No Sense of Personal Space: Aki discovers that one thing all of the Sunohara residents share in common is their disregard for personal space and have no qualms of getting uncomfortably up close and intimate.

- Accidental Pervert: While it happens to Aki quite a bit, unlike most examples of this trope he almost always ends up avoiding any Pervert Revenge Mode.
- Attractive Bent-Gender: Aki can easily pass off as a cute girl if put into girly clothes, which he is often forced to as a bit of a Running Gag.
- Brother–Sister Incest: Matsuri displays very obvious attraction towards Aki, sneaking into his room, climbing onto his bed, and attempting to help him undress. The weird-er part is she seems to think of him as a little sister.
- Butt-Monkey: Poor Aki. He just wants to assert his identity as a man, but no one takes him seriously and all the girls just want to dote on how cute he is or dress him up in girly clothes.
- Catchphrase: "Nande desuka!?"note which he says whenever he's shocked by one of the girls' erratic behavior.
- Chick Magnet: So many girls find Aki cute and try to get close to him.
- Chivalrous Pervert: A lot of dirty thoughts go through Aki's mind when he's around Ayaka or one of the girls, but he will never try to intentionally do something that will violate a girl's privacy.
- Cuteness Proximity: On the receiving end. Aki elicits this response from others whenever he's been forced to wear something cute... or just in general actually, especially from Ayaka.
- Dude Looks Like a Lady: Aki has always been mistaken for a girl throughout his life.
- Freudian Excuse: Aki's running away from home and wanting to exert his manhood makes a lot more sense after it's revealed his sister is Matsuri, who spends a great deal of his childhood doting and pampering on him as if he was her little sister and displays a stalkerish obsession towards him.
- Just a Kid: Aki constantly finds himself being treated like a kid, especially by Ayaka. Yuzu outright calls him a kid in anger.
- Last-Name Basis: Yuzu and Yuri always address him by his surname.
- Like Brother and Sister: Invoked with Aki and the other girls of Sunoharu, especially Ayaka and Sumire who openly have declared themselves Aki's onee-chan. Yuzu also displays something akin to a Sibling Rivalry with him, but also the one Aki is closest to in the whole lodging house.
- Likes Older Women: Aki is deeply in love with Ayaka who is well into adulthood even though he's in middle school and has barely hit puberty.
- Marshmallow Hell: It happens so often to Aki you can make a drinking game out of it, with Ayaka being the main culprit.
- Not What It Looks Like: Happens on occasion to Aki, usually with the explanation being directed at Yuzu.
- Only Sane Man: One of the most normal residents of Sunohara.
- Pervert Revenge Mode: Surprisingly it's usually averted with Aki. Despite the many times he has ended up in a situation that would end with most guys getting a beating, the girls of Sunohara generally don't seem to care if he sees something he shouldn't. The only exception is Yuzu who takes offense and goes all tsundere on him when it happens.
- Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: Of the masculine variety.
- Strong Family Resemblance: It's quite easy to tell Aki and Matsuri are related. Hair color aside they have so many facial features in common, especially the design of their eyes which is exactly the same.
- Tag Along Kid: Aki is by far the youngest resident of Sunohara and everyone else treats him like a kid appropriately.
- The One Guy: Aki is the only male in quite a large cast of females.
- Teeny Weenie: After being mistaken for a girl by Ayaka, she decides to bathe with him after he was drenched by the rain. He ends up passing out from the shock and she sees his thing before reassuring him it was normal for someone his age.
- Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: Aki is the tiny guy to pretty much ever girl aside from Yuzu and especially to Ayaka.
- Token Mini-Moe: Aki is one of the shota variety. Being a great deal younger than all the other residents of Sunohara and having such a youthful appearance that everyone else dotes on him for how cute he is.
- Unwanted Harem: A very unusual example given that his harem is composed of older girls who dote on him for being cute rather than seeking a relationship with him.
Ayaka Sunohara

- The Ace: Ayaka isn't just the caretaker, she's the best caretaker possible, excelling at all of her duties and making sure all the residents are feeling the best they possibly can.
- All-Loving Heroine: Ayaka. By her own admission she loves everyone in the Sunohara dorms.
- Bishie Sparkle: Ayaka is sometimes accompanied by a majestic heavenly glow to signify her pureness.
- Buxom Beauty Standard: Ayaka is very well endowed and it's a major part of why Aki is attracted to her.
- Can't Hold Her Liquor: An intoxicated Caretaker is a very terrifying experience and she starts lusting for everyone in sight.
- Character Title: Ayaka Sunohara is the titular Miss Caretaker.
- Cool Big Sis: Ayaka acts as this to everyone in her lodging house, but especially to Aki who she is extremely protective of. She even refers to herself as Aki's Onee-san.
- Ear Cleaning: Ayaka is exceptionally skilled at this, having done this for Nana many times prior to the series.
- Upon seeing it, Nana then forces it upon Aki so he can experience Ayaka's ear cleaning too. He ends up falling asleep on her Lap Pillow.
- Later when Matsuri is assessing Ayaka's skills as a caretaker, she experiences ear cleaning as well.
- Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Aki always addresses her as "Kanrinin-san"note
- Feminine Women Can Cook: This is a given considering she's a Supreme Chef.
- Genki Girl: Ayaka's default personality is being cheerful and upbeat. It's concerning when she isn't.
- Lap Pillow: Ayaka loves giving these and has done so for most of the Sunoharu residents, especially Aki. By her own admission Yuri is the only one who hasn't experienced yet to which she's been practicing for the day she finally does so.
- Leitmotif: Ayaka is often accompanied by an Ethereal Choir, especially when she's being seen from Aki's POV.
- Oblivious to Love: It's left vague how aware Ayaka is of Aki's feelings. On the one hand she at times acts like a Mrs. Robinson and gets far more intimate than is considered normal, but on the other hand she seems to fail to pick up on hints of Aki getting flustered around her.
- Shameless Fanservice Girl: Ayaka is a bit too casual with exposing her skin and seems blissfully unaware of the impact it has on Aki.
- Sibling Yin-Yang: Ayaka and Nana are sisters, but they do not remotely resemble each other in appearance or personality. Aki even has trouble believing that they are related.
- Smart People Wear Glasses: While Ayaka poses as a teacher to help with Aki's homework, her teacher attire has her donning a pair of glasses.
- Statuesque Stunner: Even for a grown woman, Ayaka is very tall especially for a Japanese woman.
- Supreme Chef: There's a reason why Ayaka is such a great caretaker, her cooking is unparalleled. Even when Matsuri wanted to criticize it, she was so overwhelmed by the rich taste that was unable to hide her satisfaction.

- A-Cup Angst: Poor Yuzu has a hard time living with so many girls that are well-endowed.
- Alliterative Name: Yuzu Yukimoto.
- Animal-Eared Headband: Yuzu has one of the most unusual ones ever seen, wearing a plush chicklet-topped hair loop. She does so due to her Height Angst in a bid to look taller.
- Butt-Monkey: Yuzu is constantly reminded by her lack of bust or how short she is. The fact everyone sees her as a cute little girl, especially Sumire only makes it even harder for her.
- Cool Big Sis: She tries to be one to Aki, even if it's sometimes out of jealousy towards the other girls. Though often she comes off as more of an Aloof Big Sister given how easily she outbursts into anger.
- Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Aki and Sumire always address Yuzu as Kaichounote .
- Funsize: She's a fair few years Aki's senior, but is even shorter than he is.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Yuzu has the height and A-Cup Angst variety, being extremely jealous of the enormous busts on the other girls she lives with.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: It doesn't take a lot to set her off.
- Lap Pillow: One time Yuzu insists on it in a bid to act as Aki's onee-chan.
- Like Brother and Sister: While all of the other girls consider themselves Aki's sister at some point, Yuzu actually fits the bill to Aki best of all, displaying something akin to a Sibling Rivalry with her tsundere moments. But also the one she's most likely to turn to for sensitive topics like her body image. The two actually hold each other tightly when they both become terrified.
- The Napoleon: The Student Council President who's as tall as middle schooler. Sumire seems to be just fine with it.
- "Not So Different" Remark: Aki noticed that he's in the same boat as Yuzu, as both of them have insecurities over their physical appearance. With Aki it's the fact he looks like a girl, while Yuzu has both Height Angst and A-Cup Angst.
- Oblivious to Love: She largely seems unaware of the huge crush that Sumire harbors for her.
- Older Than She Looks: Yuzu is very short and young looking that she could be mistaken for a prepubescent girl, but she is actually the same age as Sumire and Yuri.
- Smart People Wear Glasses: Yuzu has a pair of glasses that block out blue light whenever she uses the computer. Though she mainly seems to wear them to make herself look smart.
- Token Mini-Moe: She has the appearance of a young girl of Aki's age, even though she's actually his senior by quite a few years.
- Tsundere: Yuzu is the only one who shows this trait being a Type A. She's quick to anger, constantly criticizes, and is not shy of using violence towards Aki.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: Despite how hard a time she gives to Aki, she does consider him a friend and cares about him.

- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Yuri seems sweet on the outside, but gradually reveals a darker side to herself. She's a Camera Fiend who snaps private photos, has been known to sell those photos off for money, and is not above using blackmail to get her way.
- Camera Fiend: Yuri loves taking photos, especially of people when they think no one is watching or when they're in embarrassing situations.
- Eyes Always Shut: Yuri is almost always shown with her eyes shut. The rare instances they are open shows she has green eyes.
- The Gadfly: She loves to mess with others, especially Aki who she has great fun in embarrassing by dressing him up in girly clothes.
- Hair Color Dissonance: She has pink hair. It stands out as all other characters have normal colored hair. It's unknown if she dyes it.
- Not So Above It All: When Yuri joins in with the other girls in being Aki's onee-chan, she tries to feed Aki, only to break her usual composure and is overdone by how embarrassing this act was.
- Only in It for the Money: She makes a fortune off secretly taking photos of Yuzu and then selling them off to Sumire.
- Perpetual Smiler: Yuri is always shown smiling, even when she's being hostile, which makes it particularly unsettling.
- Rose-Haired Sweetie: Played with. She seems like one on the surface, but when you get to know her a bit better she reveals a darker side.
- Stalker with a Crush: Yuri is a bit too attached to Aki, wanting to dress him up in girly clothes and make him look all cute. She went to a lot of trouble to sew out several girly outfits all made in accordance with his size.
- Textile Work Is Feminine: She sews outfits as a hobby. Aki finds out she made several girl outfits personally for him to try on.
Sumire Yamanashi

- Bishie Sparkle: Sumire gets these when she gets revitalized by having Aki or Yuzu ride on her shoulders.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Towards Yuzu. She becomes very jealous if Yuzu shows interest in Aki or when Matsuri makes a move on her.
- Cool Big Sis: She is one to Aki. While she doesn't crush or dote on him like the other girls given her orientation, she is still protective over him and has openly stated she sees him like a little brother.
- Covert Pervert: Sumire buys suggestive photos of Yuzu from Yuri. She also goes into withdrawal if she doesn't have physical contact with Yuzu for one day.
- Cuteness Proximity: Sumire shows this towards Yuzu, which often result in nosebleeds.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Sumire has this towards Yuzu's apparent tsundere crush on Aki, being constantly jealous of her interest in Aki. At one point she goes so far as to check what Aki has that she doesn't. Yes, we're talking about his thing.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Played for Laughs when the Caretaker gets drunk and starts 'attacking' everyone. Sumire volunteers to hold her off while Yuri hides Aki, but both Sumire and Yuri get dragged off and tackled by Ayaka.
- Huge School Girl: Sumire is quite tall for a girl her age, which really stands out next to Yuzu who is the same age but far shorter than average.
- Last-Name Basis: Aki always addresses her as "Yamanashi-sempai".
- Lipstick Lesbian: Sumire harbors a deep crush on Yuzu and is even jealous of the latter's interest in Aki.
- Nosebleed: She expects these whenever one of her fantasies involving Yuzu gets fulfilled.
- Sex Addiction: Revealed to have extreme perverted tendencies that she needs to indulge in and if she fails to do so she goes into withdrawal. In her case it's having Yuzu ride on her shoulders, though Aki volunteers to take her place when Sumire is completely wasted.
- Shameless Fanservice Girl: She has no problem undressing in front of Aki. Though unlike Ayaka who is oblivious or Nana who is just perverted, Sumire rationalizes it by considering Aki as her little brother and therefore family.

- Buxom Beauty Standard: Just like her older sister, she's well-endowed and her chest is often emphasized in her scenes with Aki.
- Cool Big Sis: Is one to Aki, spending time playing with him and wanting to teach him the ways of the greater world. She is ecstatic over learning she would be taking Aki's 'first time' playing a video game.
- Does Not Like Spam: Peppers and mushrooms, to the point eating them for meals is punishment for her.
- Genki Girl: Even more so than Ayaka. Nana gets excited by everything.
- Gyaru Girl: She's as hip and Western as a Japanese girl could be, even having a steady tan and blonde hair.
- Shameless Fanservice Girl: Nana is an even worse offender than Ayaka, who nearly all out stripped in front of Aki, and was not only aware that Aki would be uncomfortable but seemed to take amusement in it.

- Abduction Is Love: A rare instance of it occurring between siblings let alone an older sister to a brother. While Ayaka and Aki go out shopping, all it takes is a second for Ayaka's back to be turned for Matsuri to snatch Aki away.
- Big Sister Bully: Matsuri Shiina displays an odd cross between this and Big Sister Instinct. She wants to dote on and protect Aki as if he was her little sister, despite the obvious discomfort it causes him.
- Brother–Sister Incest: Matsuri Shiina displays very obvious attraction towards Aki, sneaking into his room, climbing onto his bed, and asking him to undress. The weird-er part is she seems to think of him as a little sister.
- Casting Gag: This isn't the first time Ai Kayano voiced a fair-haired girl named Shiina in a series taking place in a students dormitory.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Matsuri is extremely jealous that Aki prefers the Caretaker over her, accusing Ayaka of seducing him with her body (which actually isn't too far from the truth).
- The Dreaded: Matsuri is this to her younger brother Aki. She babies him and treats him like a little sister. In fact it's implied she may have been part of the reason why he ran away from home.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Takes this to Clingy Jealous Girl levels, not wanting to share Aki with anyone else, especially Ayaka.
- Height Angst: Implied, as when she confronts Ayaka, she stands on tippy-tippy toes to try and meet Ayaka's face.
- I'm Taking Her Home with Me!: Her reaction upon meeting Yuzu. She claims that aside from Aki, she happens to be the cutest one there and ends up asking her to become her little sister.
- Lecherous Licking: Matsuri does this when Aki awakens to find her on his bed and she asks him to undress.
- Marshmallow Hell: Ayaka puts Matsuri through it much like she does with Aki, which causes her both assurance and discomfort.
- Not So Above It All: As much as Matsuri wants to criticize Ayaka's skills as caretaker, she finds that she can't. Ayaka is just that good and Matsuri can't help but express satisfaction while assessing the caretaker.

She tracks him down from across state just so she can dote on him as if he was her little sister, she gets extremely jealous of others who may be interested in him, and she even follows him and Ayaka around while they go shopping.
