Gods

The sibling trio of gods - Mianite, Dianite, and Ianite.

Mianite is the god of the Overworld, and represents order and creation. He is typically portrayed as a God of Good, though his actions don't usually align with this. In season one, Mianite is only seen through worldbuilding, but in season two, he is a character proper - showcasing a very controlling and almost tyrannical personality that contrasts with the way he is portrayed in season one.
  • Affably Evil: In season 2. Despite his Well-Intentioned Extremist nature, he's actually rather nice. Though his 'nice' side turned out to be a front.
  • Anti-Villain: Type 3, as he does wish to retain order.
  • Blood Magic: The season 2 version of him, much like Jericho and Ser Jeriah, used a Blood Magic helmet in his early years called Crimson Eclipse.
  • Cyborg: Though he plans to become "fully metal" in the future, season 2 Mianite of Ruxomar has a robotic Magical Eye.
  • Grandpa God: He's a god, white hair, white beard - check, check, and check.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: In season 2, he grew up furiously jealous of Dianite's success and put all of his efforts into outdoing him.
  • God of Good: Portrayed as such in season one, through the stories and lore told about him, and then immediately subverted by his awful actions in season two.
  • Graceful Loser: After being defeated by the heroes and killed by World Historian in the season 2 finale, he helps them jump through the portal and escape to Deviser Gaines's world, not losing his Affably Evil demeanor until the very end.
  • Magical Eye: In season 2, one of his eyes is red.
  • Order vs. Chaos: In contrast with Dianite, he is order. This is seen as benevolent order in season 1, and order through tyranny in season 2.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: In season 2. He's trying to maintain order, but by violent and unethical means.

    Dianite
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dianitedefault.png
Click here to see his Mianitian Isles skin
Dianite is the god of the Nether, and represents chaos and destruction. Season two also establishes him as the god of trade and barter. He is typically portrayed as a God of Evil, though like his brother, his actual actions tend to vary between incarnations. Dianite is charismatic, and as typical of depictions of the Devil - enjoys making deals with the server's players, provided there's something in it for him.
  • Affably Evil: At his best in season 1, and at his worst in season 2. He seems to have some nefarious ideas, but he's unfailingly friendly and polite to everyone.
  • Ambiguously Gay: Martha implies that his relationship with Mot was a bit more than just friendship. This is eventually confirmed.
  • Face of a Thug: Subverted. Tom's livestream shows that his alternate self is still kinda morally ambiguous.
  • God of Evil: For season 1. It's questionable for season 2; he wants a vessel and he doesn't seem to squirm over the details on how to obtain a new one.
  • Life of the Party: The stories he tells about his youth definitely paint him like this.
  • The Nicknamer: Has a plethora of nicknames for CaptainSparklez, including but not limited to "Sparkly Jowls", "Twinkle Thighs", "Glimmerlap", and "Shiny Johnson".
  • Obviously Evil: For season 1, given that he ruled The Nether and outright resembled Satan.
  • Order vs. Chaos: In contrast with Mianite, he is Chaos. This is seen as malevolent chaos in season 1, and more of an unrestrained business type of chaos in season 2.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: He resembles a typical depiction of Satan, having both red and black colors to match his villainous personality.
  • Secret Test of Character: A supposed bigger threat, The Shadows, was revealed to be made up in order to test the loyalty of his followers.
  • Was Once a Man: The younger Dianite featured in Mianitian Isles actually looked more human, contrasting the devil-like design of his later self in season 1.

    Ianite
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ianitedefault.png
Click here to see her season two skin
Click here to see her Mianitian Isles skin
Ianite is the goddess of the End, and also represents balance and justice, and the ocean. Ianite as a character is an ascended gag originating from Jordan not wanting to be on either Mianite or Dianite's side, instead saying he's "on Team Ianite". She then became a major character and the final member of the god trio, remaining an integral part of the series. Ianite is portrayed as just and benevolent, and the neutral party in Mianite and Dianite's long-running sibling rivalry.
  • Ascended to a Higher Plane of Existence: In season 2, she reveals that she has gone even higher after her death.
  • Badass Adorable: A given, since she is a god. Casually kills Tom when he annoys her, joins Jordan in a raid on a underground dungeon with little to no explanation, and beats the crap out of mobs with a frying pan. She also does some pretty endearing things, and occasionally joins the streamers in their madcap antics.
  • Balance Between Good and Evil: Ianite represents balance and neutrality, often standing between her brothers to keep them in line. As one of the brothers is evil depending on the season, she will often take the side of the brother that is more heroic
  • But Now I Must Go: In season 2 he has to return to the End after her power begins failing her.
  • Doppelgänger Replacement Love Interest: Sees Jordan as this, since he is an alternate universe version of her husband Spark.
  • Killed Off for Real: After she dies in season 2 and Mianite is on the cusp of reviving her, he reveals that he couldn't bring her back anyway.
  • Magical Eye: In Mianitian Isles, the younger Ianite originally had one eye green and the other purple, to show her magical power as a goddess was still developing. Her other eye turned purple at some point prior to the first season.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Ianite, as the goddess of balance, is shown dressed in purple, and has purple hair and purple eyes, with her magical feats showing her to possess a lot of great power.
  • You See, I'm Dying: She says flat-out to Sparklez that she's going to die soon and that he needs to let her go.

Sky People

The main five players that came to Ruxomar from the Realm of Mianite.

    Tom Syndicate

"YOU WANT WAR? I'll give him war. I'll destroy that village and everything it holds in it if he decides he wants war."
Click here to see his Mianitian Isles skin
In-game name: SynHD
Preferred name: Tom
Tom is one of the creators of Mianite, and a loyal devotee of Dianite. He initially was not a follower of Dianite, however after Dianite tasked him with assassinating Tucker, he embraced the dark side. After killing Dianite at the end of season 1, he becomes Mecha-Dianite.
  • Abusive Parent: To his mini-me Jefry. It takes him a while to realize that his kid has been switched, and later finds him inside a jail cell.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: He doesn't seem to take himself seriously, but he's very skilled when it comes to battle.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Tom will pretty much betray anyone as long as Dianite tells him to. Or doesn't tell him to. Or if he just feels like it.
  • Companion Cube: He's fond of naming fish he catches and keeping them as friends.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Tucker, as they were the first two streamers playing in the game when they came to the Realm of Mianite.
  • Kill the God: He dealt the fatal blow to Dianite.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Tom is very profane in the series, often making a lot of swears as he encounters trouble.
  • Tempting Fate: During a purge in season 1, he puts on the Dianite armor in the last few minutes. Jordan kills him and takes it.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Worships the world's version of the devil and is rather sinister and destructive.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Occasionally dips into this. He openly challenged Ianite to a fight (though his reaction implies that he thought she would ignore him) and makes a lot of silly mistakes, like going near the block that Jordan almost used to trap him.
  • Troll: Takes particular joy in tormenting the other players.
  • Turncoat: In season 1, despite being loyal to Dianite, he helped the others go through the Dianite temple to rescue Ianite's heart.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With most of the team. He's the most likely to start fights with the others, but at the end of the day they're all a team.

    Tucker / Jericho
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tuckerdefault.png
In-game name: II_JERiiCHO_II
Preferred name: Tucker
Tucker is one of the creators of Mianite, and fittingly, is a follower of Mianite. He has an affinity for Blood Magic and tends to get "salty" easily. Tucker becomes the leader of Team Mianite during the Great Mianite War.
  • Battle Couple: With Sonja, as they often fight mobs together.
  • Berserk Button: Anyone picking on Sonja, as he does not take his girlfriend being threatened well, and he often has the weapons to prove it.
  • Blood Magic: By season 2, this becomes his specialty using the talents of the Blood Magic mod.
  • Broken Pedestal: He was very loyal to the more benevolent season 1 Mianite, but when confronting the more villainous version from Ruxomar, Tucker initially was loyal but later felt devastated in the end by his actions.
  • Butt-Monkey: Typically receives the brunt of abuse from the other streamers. From getting repeatedly killed by Tom early season 1 to the Christmas Tree prank by Tom and Jordan. Not to mention that even Dianite gets in on mocking him for dying on episode 3 of Trinity Island.
  • Help, I'm Stuck!: He fell into a praying well during Furia's fight with Redbeard and Capsize.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Tom, as they were the first two streamers playing in the game when they came to the Realm of Mianite.
  • Shipper on Deck: He shipped Jordan and Captain Capsize so much in Season 1 that he actually built a wedding chapel for them to get married.
  • To Be Lawful or Good: Tucker chooses to be good, reasoning that he worships the Season 1 Mianite.
  • Unfortunate Names: His last name IRL is Boner, something that is made fun of frequently in season 1.
  • Unwitting Pawn: He's the only one who genuinely believes that the season 2 Mianite of Ruxomar is good, until realizing he wouldn't do the dirty deeds of this Mianite.

    Sonja
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sonjadefault_9.png
In-game name: OMGitsfirefoxx
Preferred name: Sonja
Sonja is a follower of Mianite, and was a member of The Shadows until they disappeared - something she keeps well hidden from her friends. She tends to act as a peacekeeper on the server, as she gets along with most of the other players.
  • Action Girl: She is good with weapons and can easily fight the various players and mobs of the world.
  • Battle Couple: With Tucker, as they often fight mobs together.
  • Lady of Black Magic: Sonja became a master of Thaumcraft magic in season 2, which comes with its own negative side effects of dark magic.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Her player skin is a girl with a fox tail and ears.
  • The Smurfette Principle: The only female player character on the server.
  • Squishy Wizard: Her strong point is her impressive skill in Thaumcraft. However, she doesn't always have the strongest armor, so she keeps her distance when using her spells to avoid taking damage.
  • That's What She Said: It seems not an episode goes by without her uttering one of these.
  • Troll: Sonja occasionally pulls trollish pranks on the other players.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: The more one researches Thaumcraft, the more insane they become, and the various curses caused by it have shown up many times.

    Jordan / CaptainSparklez
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jordandefault.png
Click here to see his Mianitian Isles skin
In-game name: CaptainSparklez
Preferred name: Jordan
Jordan is a follower of Ianite, initially not wanting to follow either god. When he arrives in Ruxomar, he allies himself with the daughter of that realm's Ianite, Martha the Mystic, officially becoming the Champion of Ianite. In Mianitian Isles, he becomes a demigod after winning the Mianite Olympics.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Due to the nature of the name "CaptainSparklez", he finds himself with a plethora of nicknames from almost every character. These include "Sparkly-boy", "The Good Captain", "Glimmerlap", "Sparklybum/Sparklydick", "Shiny Trousers", "Mr. Butts", and so, so many more.
  • Berserk Button:
    • He's not very fond of people calling him a copycat.
    • In Season 2, he doesn't take kindly to anyone who harms Ianita.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Towards Ianite's miniature copy, Ianita. He panics and threatens Waglington when he thinks Waglington killed her, but luckily it turns out that Ianita was just hiding.
  • Brief Accent Imitation: Often starts speaking in British or Russian accents for little to no reason.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Sparklez often gets really excited around cute things, especially with the phrase "such cute OMG".
  • Divine Date: He has one in season 2 with the Ianite of Ruxomar, who sees him as a Doppelgänger Replacement Love Interest for Spark.
  • Gosh Darn It to Heck!: Of everyone else in the group, he is the least likely to swear.
  • The Hero: While he is intended to be part of Team Ianite and therefore supposed to be neutral, he often seems to be this, since Ianite also represents balance.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: He tends to trust anyone who is nice to him, despite who they are or what they've done. This leads to a lot of shifty characters taking advantage of him.
  • In-Series Nickname: Oh so many, mainly spawning from Season 2 Dianite and Tom, and they are usually some variation of "Sparkly x." Though there have been some exceptions, such as Mr. Butts (self-inflicted), Glitter Lap, and briefly "Spark the God Impregnator" when Dec eavesdropped on the first conversation between Ianite and Team Reester.
  • Nerdgasm: He does love those mass-producing ender reactors, and he gets really excited about those as he gets tips from Deviser Gaines.
  • Nice Guy: Sparklez is a nice person to the various streamers he plays with, and the characters he encounters in the series.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Often played for laughs as other characters mock him for occasionally messing up, the streamers usually saying #Jardon U FOOL.
  • Papa Wolf: Picking on Ianita while he is around to witness it is not wise.
  • The Power of Love: He has undergone various trials throughout Mianite, all in the name of love. He attempted to bring back Captain_Capsize due to his love for her, and has a love of a different kind for Ianite in Season 2. Deconstructed in an episode of Season 2, as he is torn whether or not to take up Mianite's offer to bring back Ianite, despite her wishes.
    • Thankfully Reconstructed for now as he decided not to take the deal.
    • Double-Subverted. He allows four of the Ianitas to be killed in order to revive Ianite. It is currently unknown if it will work, but the original WASN'T sacrificed, thankfully. Mianite wanted otherwise...
  • Save Your Deity: Sparklez learns of Ianite's disappearance in Season 1 and the separation of her heart from her body. He thus goes to save her by bringing her heart to her, and he succeeds.
  • Totally Radical: He sometimes jokingly imitates this way of speaking, often for fun as he goes around in the world.
  • Troll: Not often, but he seemed to REALLY want to use the trick he learned from Intuition to trap someone in an ME drive.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: After getting Thaumcraft research from Sonja, Sparklez experiences the occasional side effects of this research, in magical form.

    Waglington
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/waglingtonskin.png
In-game name: Waglington
Preferred name: Waglington
A former season 1 wizard, he had a relatively small role until season 2 when he became the fifth hero.
  • Ascended Extra: In season 1 he wasn't part of the storyline apart from being one of the Wizards, but in season 2 he's become one of the heroes.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: He's arguably the nicest person around, but he's also one of the strongest. He's not someone you want to mess with.
  • Gentleman Wizard: Wag was one of the four wizards (the other three being the members of FyreUK), and he is very gentlemanly to his friends.
  • In the Hood: Wag's Minecraft skin sports one, fitting his appearance as a wizard.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: He has a massive amount of magical power behind his back which he can use to utterly scour the battlefield clean of opponents should he choose to get dangerous.
  • Portmanteau Couple Name: Invokes this by posting a video of his date with Martha as "Marthlington."
  • The Trickster: Despite his usual friendly manner, he also likes to play pranks on the others.

Other Realm of Mianite residents

Other players who came to Ruxomar that originated from the Realm of Mianite.

    Dec
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/decskin.png
In-game name: CommunityMC
Preferred name: Dec

  • Alternate Self: Technically, the Dec we see in Ruxomar is the Realm of Mianite Dec's alternate.
  • Butt-Monkey: Occasionally on the receiving end of blame from other streamers, so much that there is #BlameDec!
  • Fiery Redhead: He may be a priest but he is also a fierce warrior with a thick head of red hair.
  • Religion is Magic: He is one of the most divinely connected characters to Mianite, as a priest, and wields enchanted weapons.

    Champwan
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/champwanskin.png
In-game name: Champwan
Preferred name: Champwan

Other season one characters

NPC residents of the Realm of Mianite.

    Captain Capsize
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/capsizedefault.png
Click here to see her zombie skin
The leader of the pirate crew from season 1. She was one of Jordan's brief Love Interests and a devout follower of Ianite.

    Skipper Redbeard
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skipperdefault.png
Captain Capsize's brother and follower of Ianite. He appeared in season 1 and decided against following the heroes to season 2.
  • Alcohol-Induced Idiocy: More than should be possible. He crashed an airship once when he tried to drive it after having a few too many. And that's just one example; others include falling off a really big boat, and trying to beat the shit out of Sonja and the other heroes.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: What he's been doing since the heroes left and his sister died.
  • This Is as Far as I Go: He chose to stay in Ianarea instead of jumping into the void along with the heroes.

    Guardian Furia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/furiadefault.png
Dianite's fiery minion who confronts the heroes during their quest to save Ianite.
  • The Dragon: Furia acts as Dianite's main henchman who battles the heroes at varying points.
  • Hero Killer: He is the one who kills Captain Capsize, one of Ianite's main followers.
  • Playing with Fire: He has a bad habit of setting things on fire.
  • The Starscream: Furia attempts to usurp Dianite as a major threat close to the end of the first season.

Ruxomar residents

Characters who originate from Ruxomar rather than the Realm of Mianite.

    King Helgrind
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kinghelgrind.png
King of Dagrun and follower of Mianite. Father of Andor and son of Ianite. Has turned away from Ianite due to the death of his wife and daughter, named Freya and Alva respectively.
  • Abusive Parent: On the whole, condemning your own son's religion and then locking him in a high-security prison doesn't make Helgrind the best of dads.
  • Anti-Villain: His intentions were at least noble enough, and at despite being unable to do anything about it, he was not pleased when Mianite turned out not to be the God of Good he thought he was.
  • Big Bad: Helgrind initially starts in the series as a benevolent figure, even gifting Sparklez a birthday cake, though signs he was dangerous were planted with Steve allowing himself to be arrested to show his true nature. Then he came back from a trip as a dangerous apostle who enforces Mianite's vicious monotheism against the wishes of his son, and banishes Tom from Dagrun. He is eventually replaced by Mianite as the main antagonist after the Inertia is visited by the heroes.
  • Divine Parentage: He is actually the son of Ianite and Sparklez' doppelganger Spark, in spite of condemning her religion due to his blaming her for not saving his wife and daughter.
  • The Exile: Wag accidentally transported him to the Nether in an attempt to free him from Inertia. He decided to have a self-imposed one there as penance. It ends up killing him when the World Historian begins preying on his quintessence and he finds himself insane in a Netherized version of Dagrun.
    • It wasn't an accident. He mentioned that he could teleport Helgrind to the Nether, and Sonja (jokingly) said he wouldn't do it. Naturally, Wag did it just to prove it.
  • Heel Realization: When the main group tried to break Andor and Steve out of Inertia, he appeared, at first glance it looked like like he was going to try and stop the heroes. Instead he confessed to them that he had realized that Mianite isn't the benevolent god he makes himself out to be, as well as his regret that now that he was in his service, he couldn't turn back. He afterwards proceeds to help the heroes by assisting them in their escape.
  • Killed Off for Real: He dies in the final crypt, suffocated in sand due to the manipulations of the World Historian.

    Prince Andor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/andorskin.png
The Prince of Dagrun. He's the son of King Helgrind, as well as grandson, devoted follower and acolyte to Ianite despite having never met her. He struck up a friendship with Jordan after he revealed that he was a follower of Ianite.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Courtesy of Jordan: "Andor the Man-dor"
  • But Now I Must Go: Spends most of his time travelling.
  • Divine Parentage: He is the grandson of Ianite, as his father Helgrind is Ianite's and Spark's son. Unlike Helgrind, Andor remains loyal to Ianite.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: Andor's body actor Chimalus departed from the series and stated that Andor had died from the fall from jumping into the Void with the other heroes to make it unlikely he would return.
  • Hellhole Prison: Was imprisoned in Inertia, and eventually freed by the heroes.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Andor's signature weapon in the series is a boomerang, and he is very good at it.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: In out-of-series lore, it's explained that King Helgrind had the Town Herald erase his memory of Ianite.
  • Wise Prince: Contrasting his father, Andor is a reasonable prince who tries to be helpful to the streamers who come into Dagrun.
  • Younger Than They Look: Was 16 at the start of the series, and turned 17 a while after he escaped from Inertia.

    Martha the Mystic
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marthaskin.png
A mystic that came to Dagrun to explain the inbalance there. She is the former fiancee of Farmer Steve, and King Helgrind's sister. She is Ianite's daughter, and follows in her footsteps to become a full goddess.
  • The Cassandra: Pretty much every time she's tried to warn someone (especially Jordan) about the dangerous outcomes of their actions, they've refused to listen to her, even though she hasn't been wrong so far.
  • Character Blog: Official and run by her actor.
  • Divine Parentage: Daughter of Ianite.
  • Deity of Human Origin: She has fully ascended into a god, following in her mother's footsteps.
  • Dreaming of Things to Come: Comes with her mystic status.
  • Happily Married: To Farmer Steve. Technically they're still engaged, but Steve has called Martha his "wife" at least once.
    • Subverted: Martha has called off the marriage due to Steve not approving of her godly aspirations.
  • Not So Above It All: She scolds Jordan and Tucker when they Taglock Waglington's body a dozen times and try to trap him in an ME drive... Then asks if she can have a 'Waglock' too.

    Guard Tom
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/guardtom.png
A (very uncertain) follower of Mianite. He was a guard at Inertia, and showed up later as a secondary character.
  • Breakout Character: Guard Tom was originally just one of the many generic guards encountered when the heroes broke into the Inertia, but Sparklez voiced him in a Claptrap-like squeaky voice, kickstarting his popularity along with his series of diary entries.
  • The Bus Came Back: Though he was Not Quite Right, Guard Tom reappeared in the series finale as having become corrupted by the World Historian, being one of the last obstacles the heroes faced when they needed to escape Ruxomar.
  • Butt-Monkey: Was not treated well upon his arrival to Dagrun.
  • Invisible Anatomy: For a while after he was introduced, he didn't have any arms due to a problem with his skin.
  • Put on a Bus: He vanished after the Guard Outpost was destroyed.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: On Tom for killing Guard Mark. Has one against all of the heroes for mistreating him later on.

    Lieutenant Al
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lieutenantal.png
A lieutenant in Mianite's army, called in to investigate Dagrun by Helgrind. It turns out he followed Ianite in the past.
  • The Dragon: When Apostle Helgrind comes back to Dagrun, he appoints Al to be his right hand in enforcing Mianite's will, which he does by arresting Andor and repeatedly attacking Tom to enforce his banishment.
  • Disney Death: Dianite implies that Al was not killed off completely in his fight with Steve.note  Proven to be alive later.
  • Evil Former Friend: He had a past friendship with Steve before becoming a mad follower of Mianite.
  • Eye Scream: He lost his eye from his defeat in the Inertia, and is wearing an eyepatch when he reveals his redemption.
  • Face–Heel Turn: Before Season 2 began, Al was loyal to Ianite and friends with Steve, before defecting to Mianite.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Rejoins the side of good after his Disney Death.
  • Jerkass: He is unnecessarily demeaning and outright dickish to non-Mianite followers. One example is when he tried to demonize Sparklez while he was cleaning up the Taint in the town, a job he managed to get him to do in the first place for no reason other than he could.
  • Karmic Death: He underestimated Farmer Steve and it cost him his life.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Used to work with Farmer Steve, until he decided to join Mianite and become one of his enforcers.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Runs off into the Nether to find Guard Tom after he vanished from the Guard Outpost without a trace. He is never seen, nor mentioned, again.

    Deviser Gaines
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/devisergaines.png
Also known as The Architect, he is a follower of Mianite and runs the facility that powers his empire.
  • Affably Evil: He's working with Mianite, after all, and is generally just a shifty character, but he's the most sympathetic to the heroes as he's in the same situation they are. Not to mention how often he lends a hand to them when they need technical advice.
  • Gentleman and a Scholar: Despite being morally ambiguous at best, he's very intelligent, helpful, and friendly overall.
  • Goggles Do Something Unusual: He occasionally sports Goggles of Revealing. They also look really cool.
  • Heel–Face Turn: He turns his back on Mianite, seemingly for good in the Season 2 finale.
  • Mad Scientist: In the best possible way.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: Makes it very clear he isn't going to stay when Ruxomar starts exploding
  • The Smart Guy: Gaines does a lot of his science with a smart mindset, making him valuable to Mianite and Sparklez.
  • There's No Place Like Home: His overall goal is to build a portal back to his own dimension.
  • Trapped in Another World: Like the heroes, he came from a different dimension (whether it's the same as the heroes or a different one is unclear), and contacted them to see if they could help him figure out how to get back.

    World Historian
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/worldhistorian.png
The new mysterious Greater-Scope Villain, and the author of many in-universe books.
  • Archnemesis Dad: He is heavily implied to be Dianite, Mianite and Ianite's father.
  • The Chessmaster: He may have been pulling the strings since even before Dianite was killed. Possibly even further, as he's implied to be The Shadows from season one.
  • Dark Is Evil: His skin is a dark grey cloak.
  • Deadpan Snarker: "I hope you have enjoyed your accommodations. Thanks for the quintessence."
  • Greater-Scope Villain: He's an even bigger threat than Mianite is, as he is the one that has driven the alternate world to its end by stealing all its quintessence.
  • In the Hood: The World Historian has a dark cloak that comes with a hood covering his face.
  • Manipulative Bastard: He manipulates a rather unhinged Guard Tom into believing that the heroes are evil.
  • Offing the Offspring: World Historian may be the father of all three gods, but he has managed to kill all of them in order to further his sinister goals.
  • Real After All: He is the Shadows, an antagonist previously claimed to be made up for season 1 Dianite to test his followers' loyalty.

Alternates

Residents of Ruxomar who are alternate versions of the main cast.

    Spark Conway
Jordan's alternate, though over fifty years older than him. He was Ianite's husband and father to her children, and is currently in the Realm of Mianite.
  • Alternate Self: He's Jordan's.
  • Cool Old Guy: He's around 80 and Jordan's alternate. What else could he be?
  • Divine Date: He is Ianite's lover and the father to Helgrind and Martha.
  • Palette Swap: Apparently his sunglasses were green, unlike Jordan's red ones.

    Mot Screziato
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/motscreziato.png
Tom Syndicate's alternate. He grew up in the desert city of Urulu, and at a young age was infected with creeper spores that turned half his body green before he was cured. He is also Country Bat's adopted father. By some accident, he's now ended up back in his home dimension.
  • Berserk Button: Messing with his daughter, and pretty much anything or anyone associated with her.
  • Carry a Big Stick: He fights with a hammer given to him by Dianite.
  • Character Blog: Official and run by the actor.
  • Cursed with Awesome: The creeper spores that would have turned him into a creeper had their effects kept internalized by Dianite. This allows Mot to eat lit dynamite with no ill effects.
  • Divine Date: He goes on one with the season 2 Dianite of Ruxomar, who he is in love with.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He might be tough on the outside, but he deeply loves Dianite and his daughter.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: He's got one on his skin, and is a very tough fighter in battle.
  • Ship Tease: A book found in his house confirms that he loved Dianite, though whether or not he reciprocated still unknown. They become canon in the final episode.
  • Street Urchin: What little he's revealed about his childhood suggests he spent most of his early years on the streets.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Much like his counterpart. However, he is more cynical, and only interested in serving Dianite.
  • Two-Faced: One side of his face has a creeper pattern.

Sonja's alternate, though much younger than she is. She was orphaned as a child after her tribe's village was burned down, and as a result was adopted by Mot. She is currently in the Realm of Mianite.

    Jeriah
Tucker's Alternate. Whether he was a current or former follower of Mianite is unclear, but he was the leader of the Blood Knights before he left on his journey. He is currently in the Realm of Mianite.
  • Alternate Self: He's Tucker's.
  • Blood Magic: He is the leader of a group of warriors called the Blood Knights. A given being Tucker's alternate.
  • Jerkass: From what we've heard about him, he can be, a contrast to the far friendlier Tucker.

    Farmer Steve

The owner of Cherry Ridge Farms. Former fiancé of Martha the Mystic. It was at first unknown which god he follows, however official lore has confirmed that he works for Dianite.
  • Alternate Self: He is later revealed to actually be Waglington's alternate.
  • Badass in Distress: He was imprisoned in Inertia while trying to free Andor, and remained there until the main group broke the two of them out.
  • Call to Agriculture: Steve is notably badass and an excellent builder, and yet he chooses to spend most of his time on a farm.
Farmer Steve: Mate, Cherry Ridge is a very lucrative business.
  • Character Catchphrase: Tends to say that he'll give a "right rumble" to people.
  • Conflicting Loyalty: Farmer Steve claims to Tom to be a Dianitee and claims to Jordan to be an Ianitee. To complicate things further, he shows tendencies toward both teams, and has a good relationship with both gods.
  • Happily Married: To Martha. Technically they're still engaged, but Steve has called Martha his "wife" at least once.
    • Subverted: Martha has called off the marriage due to Steve not approving of her godly aspirations.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Kills himself so that Dianite can be revived.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Accepts the fact that Waglington and Martha are together, and is glad that Wag will take care of Martha after Steve dies.
  • The Nicknamer: Gives nicknames to nearly everyone. Notable ones are Syndy for Syndicate and Sparklybum for Captain Sparklez.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Used to own a farm with Lieutenant Al.
  • Written-In Absence: He rarely appeared during Season 2. The explanation was that he was on a mission for Dianite, but in real life his actor was unavailable for some unknown reason. He did, however, make time to show up one last time during the finale.
