Franklin International High School Girls FC
Team Colors : Yellow, Blue, and Red (Colombia)
Formation : 5-4-1

A newly established international school in the region where the two Kijiyama schools are located. As such, Franklin had to build a team around first years and quite predictably, suffered a heavy 0-4 loss to reigning champions Kijinan in a friendly match. They ended up facing Kijikita, a team also entirely composed of first years but managed to force a 5-5 draw on Kijinan, also in a friendly match, as their first round opponents in the regional tournament.

Franklin uses a highly defensive 5-4-1 formation designed to tire out the opposition and stall their way to victory, with Tsubaki Makishi as their small-but-terrible sweeper anchoring their defense and their foreign players Dütè Serbanov and Anya Nibenvic leading the charge on offense. Their current coach, Makie Komukai, was a member of the Japanese national women's team that won the Women's World Cup prior to the start of the series.

  • Color Motifs : Their team colors of yellow, blue, and red are very similar to the team and flag colors of the Colombian national football team, which may be either coincidental or fitting to their players' Country Mouse theme.
  • Country Mouse : Most of the Franklin players are from different prefectures all over Japan, with the arugable exceptions of Dütè and Anya.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle : Franklin is on the receiving end of this trope when Kijinan destroyed them 4-0 in a friendly match.
  • Foreign Exchange Student : Their two foreign players Dütè and Anya, given that Franklin is an international school.
  • Stone Wall : Their 5-4-1 formation is designed to force a Victory by Endurance from their opponents, and central to their rock-hard defense is their Pint-Sized Powerhouse Makishi, whose position of sweeper is normally played by much bigger players like Mishiki of Kijinan.
  • True Companions : Makie instills this mentality to her team, which means Franklin players must do their best to help each other out of trouble instead of blaming each other.
  • Victory by Endurance : Their modus operandi in effect against Kijikita who does not have any substitutes. Too bad Kijikita is not going down so easily.

Tsubame Makishi

Position : Sweeper
Number : 6
Birthday : December 21
Blood Type : O
Height : 141cm (4 feet 7 1/2 inches)
3 sizes : B71/W54/H70
Image Colors : Dark Red (Kashima Antlers)

A Franklin freshman from Gunma who plays sweeper for the girls' football team. She was inspired to play football after seeing the Japanese national women's football team win the FIFA Women's World Cup (most likely the 2011 edition), and started playing upon entering Franklin.

Despite her small size, her dogged determination and strength makes her capable of holding down opponents much bigger than she is and become just as effective in her position as the likes of Kijinan's Jaina Mishiki.

  • Cry Cute : When she gets subbed out in the second half against Kijikita. Poor girl just refuses to quit.
  • Curtains Match the Window : Brown hair and eyes.
  • Determinator : What she lacks in size she makes up for her sheer determination and strength.
  • Game Face : Her teammates find hers cute.
  • Hair Decorations : A yellow ribbon which Dütè wears for her when she gets subbed out.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners : She was able to easily form a close bond with the foreign transfer student Dütè when she moved from Russia to Japan.
  • In the Hood : In her civilian outfit, she wears a long red hoodie which extends down to her thighs, giving her the In-Series Nickname Little Red Riding Hood.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse : Despite only being slightly taller than Chidori, her teammates fear her tackling and marking abilities, and during their first round match against Kijikita, she was able to hold down a much bigger Mai for a good portion of the game.
  • Worthy Opponent : Despite a rather physical game between her and Mai in the regional first round, they genuinely respect each other's styles of play, with the former even going out to watch the latter's second round match against Seirin.

  • Everyone Loves Blondes : Especially if they are Serbian.

  • Girlish Pigtails
  • Graceful Loser : Takes their loss to Kijikita well, and considered Yoko and Mitsu as her Worthy Opponents.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed : Her favorite player is her compatriot Dragan Stojkovic, who used to play for Red Star Belgrade, which shares the same image colors as hers. "Piksi", as he was called, was quite popular in Japan during his stint as player and coach of the Japanese club Nagoya Grampus.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni : Very much the red to Dütè's blue.
  • Verbal Tic : Often ends her sentences with "yeah".
  • Youthful Freckles : On her cheeks.

Dütè Serbanov

Position : Striker

Birthdate : May 15
Nationality : Russian
Blood Type : O
Height : 175cm (5 feet 9 inches)
3 sizes : B78/W64/H83

A Franklin freshman from Russia who plays striker for the girls' football team, and is the "silver" half of Franklin's "gold and silver combo". Makie recruited her into the team after discovering her talents while the Japanese national team was on its tour in Russia.

  • The Ace : Easily the team's best offensive player. Her control is so good she can lower Team Pet Platini from her bed to the floor while balancing him on the sole of one foot.
  • Bash Brothers : The silver half of Franklin's "gold and silver combo".
  • Boke and Tsukkomi Routine : Loves playing the tsukkomi in comedic situations, usually with her fellow foreign player Anya as the boke.
  • Conveniently an Orphan : It is somewhat inferred that her parents have passed away, given that she prays that they will watch over her before every game. However, this is never explicitly explored or confirmed.
  • Cuteness Proximity : Really loves the Franklin uniform as she finds it cute.
  • Fish out of Water : Like Anya, she initially had trouble adapting to Japanese culture when she first arrived from Russia, but eventually adapted with the support of Tsubame and the rest of the team.

  • True Companions : Franklin's team philosophy aside, Dütè's bonds with her teammates keeps her from getting homesick.
  • Tsundere : Normally cold towards everyone else, but Tsubame usually brings out her softer side.

Yuuko Morimachi

A Franklin freshman who plays striker for the girls' football team. She was subbed in to replace Tsubame when the team switched gears into the offensive in an attempt scoring a goal, tied 1-1 against Kijikita.

     Coaching Staff

Makie Komukai

Position: Head Coach

A former player for the Japanese national women's football team who serves as head coach for the Franklin International High School Girls' Football Team. She recruited Russian player Dütè Serbanov for Franklin after the latter impresses with her football skills.

  • No Celebrities Were Harmed : Not exactly implied or even stated outright, but she may be based on Japanese center-back Saki Kumagai, who scored the game-winning penalty goal against Team USA in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup Final.
  • Red Baron : Known in her playing days in the Japanese national team as "The General".
  • Team Mom : Natch.
  • True Companions : Instills this philosophy on her team so that everyone will try their best to help out each other out of trouble rather than criticising like what usually happens in many Opposing Sports Teams and even protagonist teams.
  • Worthy Opponent : Outright worships Kijikita assistant coach Chako Kawami due to her supposed hands-on approach to coaching, when in fact she is actually more of a Team Mom than an actual coach. That's right, a former national team player concedes to an English teacher with no knowledge of football at all!
  • Xanatos Speed Chess : Easily able to devise strategies on the fly to capitalize on the opponent's weaknesses, such as when she used a defensive stalling formation to tire out the Kijikita players who don't have any substitutes. When Kunimitsu cooks up a strategy of his own, however...

A 10-year old tomcat who serves as Franklin's mascot.

  • I Was Quite a Looker : Used to be a very slim master mouse catcher, hence his Badass Nickname below.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed : He is named after former French footballer Michel Platini, who was UEFA President from 2007 to 2015.
  • Red Baron : Known in his younger days as "The Shogun".
  • Team Pet : Likes to sleep in the same bed as the Franklin players.
  • True Companions : Franklin's team philosophy even rubs off on him so much that due to his old age he considers the Franklin girls as his "daughters".
  • Yandere : He is rather jealous of Hotaru's love of other cats.
