Parthevia was once a small country in southwest, but during the reign of Davashadil IV, after wining the war against a nearby country, they renamed itself as The Parthevia Empire, becoming a strong and influential superpower. Gaining more and more resources as they kept conquering other countries, the army paid the citizens gold for each victory in the war. But after the war with the Reim Empire, which forced Parthevia to yield some parts of its territory, Parthevia fell into economic difficulties and imposed harsh taxes on the people. Taken the citizen's food supplies, properties and even demanding the men to join the army.

    Serendine Dikumenowlz Du Parthevia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/serendine_457.png

The First Princess of the Parthevia Empire. She has known Drakon since childhood and cares for him as a younger brother.

Voiced by Ai Kayano (Japanese), Abby Trott (English)

  • Affectionate Nickname: She prefers to be called "Seren" and she likes to call Drakon "Junior".
  • Arranged Marriage: To Barbarossa, Drakon's older brother. She doesn't seem too happy about it.
  • Badass Cape
  • Berserk Button: Don't insult her father. Really, don't. When a mob started insulting her and her men, telling them to get lost, she took it all stoicly. That is, until someone insulted her father, the emperor. If Sinbad hadn't stopped her, she probably would have beaten the offender to death with her bare hands.
  • Big Sister Instinct: To Drakon, as seen here. She loves him as a brother and is ready to "avenge" him.
    • She also feels this for her actual younger brother Ceylan.
  • Blood-Splattered Wedding Dress: She gets her wedding dress soaked with Drakon's blood after Barbarossa uses the powers from his Djinn against him.
  • Boobs of Steel
  • Braids of Action
  • Break the Cutie: After the Time Skip, Serendine, Drakon, Sahel and Tamila have experienced several hardships while being on the run. They were constantly attacked with not even time to rest, then after finally reaching Reim they had already exhausted most of their resources and had to work hard jobs with a minimum wage, getting barely any food to eat, not to mention that Drakon's assimilated form and the ostracism he started to face derived from it had strained their relationship and being approached several times by men suggesting her to sell herself, all of those experiences took their toll on Serendine's mental estate.
  • Chainmail Bikini: She wears a shirt or something that covers some of her torso, but in terms of actual armour, let's just say that she'll be fine if she gets hit on her forearms, shins, or breasts.
  • Childhood Friends: With Drakon, or "Junior" as she calls him.
  • Combat Pragmatist: She doesn't seem very interested in fighting fair, pulling out hidden weapons at just the right moment and poisoning her blades.
  • Combat Stilettos
  • Curtains Match The Windows
  • Defeat by Modesty: Given how he's The Ace, it's likely Sinbad would have defeated her anyway, but what allowed him to defeat her so easily was her embarrassment after he cut the straps of her Chainmail Bikini.
  • Don't Call Me "Sir": She doesn't like it when Drakon treats her with too much formality and asks him to call her "Seren" instead of her full name.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: Two years later she wears her hair short, as she had to sell it for money. After using most of their resources while constantly running from Barbarossa, once she and her group reach Reim they end up penniless, so she ends up selling her hair and since it's an unusual color in Reim she gets a good price.
  • Fallen Princess
  • First Love: Drakon's first love.
  • Foregone Conclusion: She manages to conquer the dungeon of Zepar. That makes Seren his first King Candidate, since we know from the main series that Zepar is currently one of Sinbad's djinns... Which means that something must have happened to her for him to be able to inherit her djinn.
  • Guardian Entity: According to Sinbad in the main series, Serendine's Rukh became one with Sinbad's not unlike Cassim to Alibaba, allowing him to use her Djinn equip.
  • Hair Decorations: Wears a purple headband and her braids end in metal rings.
  • Like Brother and Sister: She and Drakon when they were younger, before their feelings grew more complicated.
  • Meaningful Name: Seren is a Turkish name, that means "(marine) yard, rank or post", and in Welsh, her name can mean "star".
  • Missing Mom: It's shown much later in the story that her mother died when she was young.
  • Oblivious to Love: Doesn't seem to realize at first that Drakon's feelings for her are romantic.
  • Overly Long Name
  • Poisoned Weapons: Specializes in using these, hence her nom de guerre below.
  • Pride
  • Rapunzel Hair: She has waist-length hair. She loses her beautiful long hair after the Time Skip.
  • Red Baron: Nicknamed "Parthevia's Venomous Spider Princess".
  • Regal Ringlets
  • Royal Rapier: Her weapon of choice.
  • Run Away Bride
  • Shipper on Deck: She happily supports Drakon x Sahel.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: She's actually pretty good in a fight, and even though she used a concealed weapon, she landed a hit on Sinbad.
  • Tomboy Princess
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: She conquers Zepar's dungeon when Zepar forces her and Sinbad to compare ideologies and she makes Sinbad reconsider his goal to become king. This allows her to be able to mind control Sinbad to declare war against Parthevia, which results in the deaths of many people including Mystras and Rurumu, Sinbad becoming half-fallen and David merging with him, and further galvanizing Sinbad's anti-war ideology and his determination to do anything to reach that goal, no matter how shady. If she had not possessed Zepar, it would not only have changed the history of Sindria but altered the end of the main manga.
  • Uptown Girl: For Drakon, who recognises he is far too lowly to have a chance with her.
  • You Gotta Have Blue Hair: She has long pink hair.

    Sahel
One of Serendine's handmaidens who is a magician. By the beginning of Magi, she and Drakon are married.

    Tamila
One of Serendine's handmaidens who specializes in close hand combat.

    Barbarossa
One of Drakon's older brothers, who is engaged to Serendine. He holds the position of "General of the Left".

Voiced by Takehito Koyasu (Japanese), David Vincent (English)

    Ceylan Dikumenowlz Du Parthevia

  • Foregone Conclusion: In the main series, when Alibaba goes to Parthevia he meets Ceylan, so it's already known that he'll survive the events of Sinbad no Bouken and he'll become the 32nd Emperor of Parthevia, which is one of the clues that Seren dies trying to reclame their country.
  • Missing Mom: It's shown much later in the story that his mother died when he was a very young child.
  • Nice Guy.
  • Overly Long Name
  • Replacement Goldfish: To Falan he becomes a replacement of her son, to the point that she actually believes him to be Tess.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: As a child he looked quite similar to his sister.
  • You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Like his older sister, he has pink hair.
