The Black Foxes

    Riki Yanase
  • Alcohol-Induced Idiocy: His friends keep him from doing anything very stupid, but the normally cool, confident Riki turns into a loud, clingy crybaby when he gets drunk.
  • Calling the Old Man Out: After his sister is hospitalised, and their father only cares about his reputation.
  • Can't Hold His Liquor: Infamously so among his friends. He's usually able to keep up appearances when attending work functions, but this is a man who went from zero to hammered on one vodka-based drink.
  • Chick Magnet: Gets handed phone numbers by just walking around the streets.
  • Even the Guys Want Him: In one of the substories, a photographer wants him to be his "personal model", and another substory has some gay men at a mixer hitting on him.
  • Hospital Hottie: In the "What If... Riki" side story, Riki and the protagonist go undercover at a hospital, mostly to exploit this trope.
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: Riki wears a very snappy suit in his role as a government official.
  • The Tease: Right off the beginning with the protagonist. Is the most forward with sexual remarks.
  • Triple Shifter: Most of the Black Foxes have day jobs. In particular, Riki is a government official; the other guys' jobs allow them a little more flexibility, but Riki works standard hours and also occasionally has to attend social functions in the evenings, on top of the Black Foxes' nighttime capers.

    Takuto Hirukawa
  • Squishy Wizard: Downplayed. Although he doesn't like physical activity and seems to be exhausted easily, he is very much able to take out opponents on hand-on-hand combat during their missions
  • Teen Genius: Offspring from a couple of famous scientists and very gifted on his own, being a combination of a Gadgeteer Genius and Techno Wizard.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Pork noodles.
  • Tsundere: He is explicitly referred to as such on several occasions, even in the English translation. The protagonist ruefully notes that he's kind of light on the dere, though.

    Kenshi Inagaki
  • Amazon Chaser: Kenshi is always delighted by the protagonist's Damsel out of Distress moments.
  • Firemen Are Hot: As noted by the protagonist several times in his routes.
  • Nice Guy: The supportive, laid back older brother type.
  • Sex for Solace: In Kenshi's route, the protagonist comforts him during a particularly vulnerable moment after his mother is hospitalized due to exhaustion, and the two of them end up having sex.

    Hiro Sarashina
  • Affectionate Nickname: Hiro starts calling the protagonist "Princess" early in his route. This sticks through all his stories.
  • Attractive Bent-Gender: Hiro is stunning when posing as a woman, and is not at all shy about using his feminine wiles to his advantage.
  • The Charmer: Sweet talks his way out of custody, after he beats up a robber.
  • Disguised in Drag: Frequently, and unusually for the trope, is completely comfortable doing so.
  • Half-Identical Twins: With his sister Seiko. The similarities even extend to being virtually identical in temperament.
  • Master of Disguise: Hiro is a gifted actor and the one among the Black Foxes who will usually infiltrate a location in disguise to provide intel from the inside.
  • Totally Radical: Hiro uses a lot of outdated slang and '80s and '90s pop culture references.

    Atsumu Kashiwabara
  • Parental Substitute: Atsumu has always attempted to be this for the younger Foxes, in lieu of busy or outright absent parents. Riki's part of the "Ginza Scavenger Hunt" side story shows that this has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated.
  • Team Dad: More like the Bumbling Dad variety.

Other Characters

    Tatsuro Togoshi
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Has been in love with the protagonist since they were kids. On his route, she realizes that she returns his feelings, in other routes, he's the Unlucky Childhood Friend.
  • Dating Catwoman: Inverted in his route, since the protagonist remains an active member of the Black Foxes, even after she starts dating him, Tatsuro's well aware of her and the other guys' involvement, but reluctantly turns a blind eye for her sake. He does the same in Kenshi's route.
  • Lethal Chef: Is hopelessly incompetent in the kitchen, and it's remarked that if it wasn't for his sister, he'd starve to death.
  • Sympathetic Inspector Antagonist: Is the police detective assigned to catch the Black Foxes.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Is afraid of dogs, and they generally dislike him right back. Sure enough, he's forced to confront his fear on several occasions, such as the scene in his route in which a dog runs off with the protagonist's purse.

    Hyosuke Kujo
  • Animals Hate Him: The family cat wants nothing to do with Hyosuke, much to his confusion. The protagonist points out that he's trying too hard, as cats dislike people who come on too strong. Cue subtext-laden conversations about Hyosuke's repeated failures to get the protagonist to warm up to him as well.
