    Ollie 
Voiced by: Jonathan Groff

  • All-Loving Hero: Ollie forgives Billy for abandoning him just to prove he wasn't a kid. He's also willing to give up his own heart, Nina's bell so Zozo could have a piece of her with him, even though he would die.
  • Bunnies for Cuteness: He's a stuffed rabbit and he's cute and kind.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Ollie is sweet and sensitive while Rosy is grumpy and tough.
  • Nice Guy: He's friendly, soft-spoken, loyal, and even self sacrificing towards those who try to murder him.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: Even after Zozo's true colors are on full display in Episode 3. Ollie sympathizes with Zozo as he watches him crying after learning what happened to Nina.
  • Tragic Abandoned Toy: He wakes up in an antique store and spends time looking for Billy. He's heartbroken learning the one who left him behind was Billy.
  • Undying Loyalty: He is dead set on getting back with Billy no matter what. Even after remembering he was abandoned by Billy, he gets back up and tries to find him again.

    Zozo 
Voiced by: Tim Blake Nelson
  • Adaptational Villainy: In the book, he realizes what a monster he is and sacrifices himself to save Ollie. Nothing of the sort happens in this series.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: At first he's helpful to Ollie but it's later revealed he only helped him to find his lost love, Nina and he ruthlessly attacks Ollie when he doesn't know what happened to Nina.
  • Evil All Along: In the first episode he seems to want to help Ollie get back home, but all he really cares about is finding Nina and he attacks Ollie when he says he doesn't know where she is.
  • Love Makes You Evil: He missed Nina so much, he tries to torture Ollie if he doesn't tell him where Nina is then tries to kill him when he realizes her bell is inside of him.
  • Monster Clown: He's so hellbent on getting Nina back that he violently attacks other toys, he also attempts to torture Ollie to get him back and he later tries to rip his bell heart out.
  • Non-Ironic Clown: Subverted, he is kind, silly, and helpful to Ollie at first, but he turns out to be ruthless towards other toys.

    Rosy 
Voiced by: Mary J. Blige

  • Action Girl: Rosy fights off Buttons the dog and later saves Ollie from Zozo by stabbing the latter with her toothpick sword.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: At first Rosy is tough and unsympathetic towards Ollie, but still helps him out. She decides to betray Zozo when she sees how ruthless he is towards Ollie and is unwilling to change his mind. She uses her last moments to save Ollie from him.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: She is tough and grumpy whilst Ollie is sensitive and sweet.

    Billy 
Played by: Kesler Talbot (child), William Carson (younger child), and James Pizzinato (adult)

  • Cheerful Child: He loved to play with Ollie as a kid, especially playing pirates.
  • Good Parents: He seems to have a great relationship with his daughter Suzy.
  • Happily Adopted: By Momma and Jimmy. He was closer to Momma, but seemed to become more close to Jimmy than before after her death.
  • Momma's Boy: He is very close to Momma since she is affectionate and supports his friendship with Ollie.

    Momma 
Played by: Gina Rodriguez

  • Good Parents: She has a sense of humor, she made a stuffed bunny for her son when she adopted him, and insists he is her real son.
  • Missing Mom: She died from a terminal illness.
  • Nice Girl: She is playful and loving to Billy and her biggest worry during her death was how her son and husband would handle themselves.
  • Posthumous Character: It's revealed she died long before the events of the second episode.
  • Unnamed Parent: She is only referred to as "Momma".

    Suzy 
Played by: Isabel Birch

  • Daddy's Girl: She's very close with her father Billy and loves playing with him.
  • Happily Adopted: She is Billy adopted daughter and they have a good relationship.

    Mike Apple 
Played by: Everett Andres

  • The Bully: He mocks Billy's friendship with Ollie and tries to kidnap Ollie to tease Billy.
  • Jerkass: He's mentioned to twist Billy's arm to force him to admit he's not Momma's "real son". He gets worse when he tries to kidnap Ollie and later tries to beat up Billy.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: He only appears in the last episode but his mockery of Billy convinces him to abandon Ollie.
