    The Lord of Avillon

The Lord of Avillon is the main character and avatar for the player in Lord of Heroes. They are the monarch of Avillon, a small kingdom located on the western continent. The Lord does not appear as a playable character similar to the Heroes, but serves as a commander during battle. All actions taken by the player are considered to be the Lord's commands.
  • Benevolent Boss: The Lord puts full trust in their knights. They always value their opinion and even encourages them to think and make their own opinions rather than not just listening to their lord, treating them as equals and being soft on them whenever possible.
  • King Incognito: In one side story, it's said that as a child, the Lord sometimes disguised themselves as a normal commoner kid just to play outside the castle. No one recognized them that a vendor can even scold them when they accidentally mess up.
  • Magnetic Hero: The Lord becomes the central focus of an alliance of multiple nations, and manages to recruit most of their defeated enemies, winning people over with their commitment to making the world better for everyone and in most cases treating their former foes much better than the side they'd been fighting for up to that point.
  • Modest Royalty: They wear a mostly black ensemble which, while undeniably snappy and sporting a Badass Cape, looks much more like a military uniform than royal regalia.
  • Non-Action Protagonist: Despite being an excellent military strategist, the Lord has no talent for physical combat.
  • Purely Aesthetic Gender: The gender and final appearance of the the Lord is entirely up to the player, and has no impact on their character's interactions in the game.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Though the Lord doesn't take part in combat, they personally lead their knights on their missions and conduct diplomatic negotiations themselves.
  • Ruler Protagonist: The protagonist of the game and the Lord of Avillon Kingdom.
  • Universally Beloved Leader: The knights of Avillon—Johan, Fram, Charlotte, Mikhail, Lyn, and Schneider—have full loyalty and adoration for their Lord, which also applies to knights that join later. The ones that usually manage the castle, like Rouin and Mu, are also just as loyal.

Knights

    Fram Berge
One of the starting knights of Avillon. A headstrong knight who places great faith in her lord and friends, she is often first to charge into battle wielding her greatsword.
  • Ancestral Weapon: One voice line mentions that Durendal, the BFS she wields, is something she inherited but otherwise knows nothing else about it.
  • Blood Knight: While she isn't the brightest of Avillon's knights, she would rather let her lance do the talking.
  • Punny Name: Her full name, Fram Berge -> Fram-berge -> Flamberge, a two-handed sword. Fram herself wielding a BFS that also needs two hands is likely a reference itself.

    Johan Talede

Korean: 요한 테일드

One of the starting knights of Avillon. An exemplary knight who values faith and loyalty.
  • Former Teen Rebel: Well, as much as you can get rebel teen in fantasy world. In a bonus side story, it's said that when he was young, Johan always had some sort of bruises, and even dared to challenge The Lord when he was still an heir to the throne to make a country where no one has to live pitifully like him.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: He has blond hair, accentuating him also being a kindhearted, loyal, and gentle person.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: His character description even describes him as the ideal knight. It became perfect with his Avillon Knight Uniform series outfit, "Oath of the Sword".
  • Light Is Good: Notably has a light color scheme with his appearance. Even his element is Light in the Main Story.
  • Purely Aesthetic Glasses: To be more precise, Johan uses glasses to soften his own impression. He has lots of artwork where he doesn't wear his glasses.
  • Recruited from the Gutter: Johan used to live in poverty as a slums kid before he got recruited as a knight.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: Although the glasses aren't real, the trope still applies since Johan is the strategist of the knights of Avillon, and he learned military studies too.
  • Starter Mon: One of the first recruitable characters. You get him for free after playing the prologue.
  • The Reliable One: Of the original knights of Avillon, he's the most reasonable and stable.
  • Undying Loyalty: Absolutely loyal to the Lord of Avillon. Notably, he and The Lord knew each other earlier than other knights.

  • Ripple-Effect-Proof Memory: Unlike the rest of the knights, Astrid retains all her memories of the previous timeline when the Monarch resets it, possibly in connection with her awareness that it's all a video game. In the Extreme timeline, the Monarch expects this to still be the case and is stunned when Astrid doesn't recognize her, but Astrid can't keep the joke up for long and soon admits she remembers everything.
