    Manehattan Six

Twilight Sparkle

Princess Celestia's apprentice and the Bearer of the Element of Magic, as in canon.

The Great And Powerful Trixie Lulamoon

A talented magician with a flair for the dramatic. Holds the Element of Laughter.

  • Comedy as a Weapon: Her use of this against the flying beasts cements her as the Bearer of Laughter.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Was the first unicorn in her family who failed to pass the entrance exam to enter Canterlot's School for Gifted Unicorns. Abandoned by her friends, neglected by her mother, she ran away and ended up becoming Hairy Hoofdini's apprentice. She then had to watch her mentor put into a coma performing a sabotaged trick.
  • For Want Of A Nail: According to LPJ's forum notes, due to the Manehattan 6's adventures, she delayed her show tour, which means the events of Boast Busters never happened.
  • Rule of Funny: Which she explicitly invokes when Twilight asks why she gave her an eyepatch when she knew her Eye Scream was just an illusion.
  • Weak, but Skilled: She may not possess as much power as Twilight, but definitely knows how to use her spells well. Based on canon evidence, she's considered "above average" for a unicorn, but with a note that "average" isn't very powerful to begin with; in any case she certainly doesn't have much in terms of practical spells, but that doesn't stop her from being innovative.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Tends to treat situations as All Part of the Show, and mistakenly believed that Twilight's conveniently arriving shortly before Nightmare Moon made her some kind of spy.

Octavia Melody

A highly talented musician whom is one of Celestia's personal favorites. Carries the Element of Kindness.

Blossomforth

A Junior Cadet at the Weather Center, Blossomforth enjoys tending to flowers. While she can get distracted very easily, and doesn't have a lot of self-confidence, she has a good heart and is devoted to her friends, making her the Bearer of Loyalty.

  • Cowardly Lion: Though terrified out of her mind when the chimera attacks, and despite all her insecurities, when Twilight declares We Need a Distraction, she immediately puts herself on the line.
  • Dark Secret: Blossomforth does her best to conceal her poor flying skills.
  • For Want Of A Nail: If not for the events of The Wrong Place at the Right Time, she would have followed through on her original plan to move to 'a quiet little country town': Ponyville.
  • Shrinking Violet: Not so much out of shyness, but because she sees herself as a very average pony cast into extraordinary circumstances.

Honey "Daring" Do

The head curator of the Equestrian Museum of Supernatural History, as well as an adventurer archelogist. Six months before the events of The Wrong Place at the Right Time, she discovered the Elements of Harmony and brought them to the museum. Serves as the Bearer of Honesty.

  • Clark Kenting: Honey hides her Daring Do identity by wearing a sweater. Though it also helps that everyone thinks that Daring Do is a brash, cocky adventurer, while Honey is a humble scholar.
  • Cunning Linguist: Speaks twenty languages, half of which are dead.
  • I Am Not Spock: Daring Do is only based on her, and boasts a brash personality that Honey seriously dislikes. Despite this, had to deal with even her old friends assuming that was who she was, much to her dismay.invoked
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: Her double identity is revealed within the first story of the series.
  • Secret Identity: Only an handful of ponies know she's Daring Do.

Orange Sherbet

Co-owner of the Orange Hotel, running Orange Catering out of it along with her husband. Bearer of the Element of Generosity.

  • Honorary Aunt: Orange Sherbet insists on being addressed as "Auntie." It's implied that this may result from her failed attempt to bond with Applejack. In Apples to Oranges, we learn that her husband Mosely Orange is very much the same way, insisting that Twilight refer to him as "Uncle".
  • Lethal Chef: Didn't used to be one, but years of inexperience have dulled her skills. She gets better with help from Mosley and Tangerine.

    Secondary Characters

Spike

Twilight's personal assistant.

  • Brutal Honesty: Not afraid to say things that could be hurtful or insensitive, such as complaining about his assumption of how a fancy luncheon at the Orange Hotel won't have any food HE likes.
  • Digging Yourself Deeper: He's not very good at talking himself out of trouble.

Mosley Orange

Husband to Orange Sherbert, father to Tangerine, and co-owner of the Orange Hotel and Orange Catering.

  • Honorary Uncle: Like his wife, he asks the others to refer to him as an Uncle.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: Grew up with very little knowledge or contact with his parents, and largely unaware that they were the head of the Orange Conglomerate, and his whole childhood had been a Secret Test of Character to see if he was right to inherit the family business.

Tangerine

Orange Sherbert and Mosley Orange's young daughter. Becomes one of the three founders of the Manehattan!Verse's Cutie Mark Crusaders.

  • From Nobody to Nightmare: In Tangerine Sashay of Power, when the pressure of being hall monitor drives her to terrorize the school with an iron hoof.

Babs Seed

A young filly from Brookmare with a troubled past. Another of the three founders of the Manehatten!Verse's Cutie Mark Crusaders.

Redwall

Babs' father. After a rough patch led to him losing his farm, he moved to Brookmare to help at his sister's family business. After Apples to Oranges, he decides to create a city-based orchard in South Manehattan.

  • Fatal Flaw: Pride made him reject Orange Sherbert's attempt to save his farm, leading to a misunderstanding that poisoned their relationship for years.

Apple Dumpling

Another member of the prolific Apple Clan, who runs a bakery in Brookmare, along with her husband and two young fillies. Following the events of Apples to Oranges, she moves to South Manehattan to ensure her brother Redwell's new business succeeds.

    Over In Ponyville...

In General

  • In Spite of a Nail: Canonical plots that didn't involve Twilight or Spike at all remain mostly as they were in canon.

Applejack

  • Fatal Flaw: Though her Pride's no worse than in Canon, it almost led to her almost losing the farm when she didn't seek help during Applebuck Season until it was too late to save most of the harvest.
  • My Greatest Failure: She sees her leaving her aunt as hers.
"That's right, which is why ah realized just how selfish and ignorant ah'd been when the next reunion rolled 'round and everypony showed up, but her. Twilight, these apples on my flank, they don't just represent what ah do, they represent what's important ta me, they represent the Apple clan, they represent family. Ah had earned this symbol...this mark that says ah value my kin above all else...by walkin' away from her! Do have any idea what that means? This-this...thing on my rear is tellin' me that the mare who never done wrong by me once...the one ray of sunshine that smiled warmly on me during that lonely time in the city...isn't a part of it!
  • Stepford Smiler: Put on a brave face when she was about to lose Sweet Apple Acres.

Fluttershy

  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: According to LJP's thread, she was attacked by the hydra from Feeling Pinkie Keen... and Stared it into submission.

Pinkie Pie

Rainbow Dash

Rarity

  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: According to LJP's thread, the events of A Dog and Pony Show may culminate in her becoming Queen of the Diamond Dogs.
  • Running Gag: While Rarity's tail is untouched during the the Summer Sun Celebration, since she wasn't in harm's way, the altered events of several other 'episodes' involve her tail getting damaged to various degrees of seriousness.

Apple Bloom

Head of the Ponyville branch of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, and the third founding member.

  • Intergenerational Friendship: Though unable to go out and meet Zecora after first seeing her, she sneaks off with Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo to find her during the events of Stare Master, leading to a close friendship.
