Lakeview Cabin II - Episode 1

Granny

A killer who lives in the attic of the family's holiday home.

  • Delicious Distraction: The only use the rotten food in your house has is that she briefly stops to examine it, which gives you a window of opportunity to do something about her.
  • Evil Old Folks: Granny seems like a sweet old lady who cheerfully hops over to the kids... so she can grab them and drown them in the lake.
  • Eye Scream: One of Granny's eyes pops out of its socket when she dies.
  • Madwoman in the Attic: She doesn't actually come down from the attic until a few days have passed or you use the ladder to try and explore the attic.

Sockhead

A killer who lives just outside in the shed.

  • Distracted by the Sexy: His major weakness — he will stop to examine the porn magazines you can find in the Treehouse. Also, if the wife is naked, he won't immediately attack her.
  • Extreme Libido: Sockhead, who hides inside the cupboard in the barn initially. His hideout has women's underwear strewn across the floor and a nude calendar on the wall, and his bed at the cultists' cabin is covered with used tissues and socks, and what is probably ejaculate.
  • Stocking Mask: Sockhead wears one of these, hence his nickname.

Scarecrow

A killer who crosses over from a little island across the lake.

  • Bald of Evil: Beneath his mask, Scarecrow is a bald man who resembles Pluto from The Hills Have Eyes.
  • Sackhead Slasher: Scarecrow's mask is essentially a sack that resembles a scarecrow's head.
  • Scary Scarecrows: Scarecrow dresses like one, including wearing a mask. There is a real scarecrow of sorts on the other side of the lake, with what appears to be a skull as a head.
  • White Flag: You need one of these to summon Scarecrow to the house, so hang your laundry from the flagpole ONLY when your ready for him.

Shark Man

A special type of killer who resides in the lake.

  • Shark Man: This is a man with shark-like attributes lurking in the lake that tries to attack the family as they cross it. He can destroy the family's boat and attempts to kill any of the family members who are in the water with him.

Witches

The occupants of the shack on the other side of the lake.

  • All-Encompassing Mantle: Part of their Cult attire is a a red version of this.
  • Breeding Cult: The witches that dwell in the cabin across the lake seem to have this as their goal, (i.e. birthing an incarnation of Red), though despite flashing each other, they do not breed with one another and instead target the family in hopes of having the wife give birth to Red instead.
  • Sexy Coat Flashing: They weaponise this. Yes, you read that right - the Witches main attack is to FLASH you, and your character usually instantly drops whatever they are holding from the shock.
  • Silver Has Mystic Powers: The witches are instantly killed as soon as they come into contact with the silver necklace found beneath the floorboards of the barn.
  • The Mirror Shows Your True Self: Something interesting happens when you lure the witches all the way to the bathroom: you can See their reflections are different, And the Witches MIGHT become Dwellers later on.

Fedora Man

A killer who only appears if the children are harmed.

  • Bandaged Face: The Fedora Man's face is covered with bandages to hide the skinless face beneath.
  • Invincible Villain: He's basically immune to EVERY source of damage you can throw at him. Weapons? Fire? Explosions? They don't work on him at all.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: The Fedora Man arrives the night after one of the parents repeatedly hurts or kills their children, and only kills the parents. Interestingly, the Fedora Man does not care if the children are killed by the killers. He just hates bad parenting.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: How do you deal with this man, who can't be killed by blowing him up, setting him on fire, or shooting/hitting him? You fix the Sauna — which is a thing that normally exists to heal all your wounds — and turn it on when he's in there, and he just dies. Seriously.

Aliens

A special type of enemy that appears ONLY when you activate the B-side Film reel, and enter Episode 1-B.

  • Alien Episode: The first episode's bonus level has the family taking on a group of murderous aliens.
  • Enclosed Extraterrestrials: The aliens who invade the family's property in the bonus episode are enclosed within their spacesuits, which include glass helmets to cover their elongated heads. This renders them hard to set ablaze (aside from explosions), though their helmets can be temporarily destroyed, making them vulnerable to fire.
  • Flying Saucer: They actually have one, and it is usually the last alien to be dealt since the aliens in the house are more dangerous to you.
  • Kill It with Fire: The aliens who invade are vulnerable to fire and explosions.
  • Plant Aliens: The aliens who arrive to kill the family in the first episode's bonus part seem to have evolved from corn. When they are set ablaze, popcorn bursts from their heads.
  • Your Head A-Splode: Being blasted with those rayguns for too long WILL kill you, so make sure to attack them from behind when you can. On the flipside, setting the aliens will cause THEIR heads to explode.

Lakeview Cabin II - Episode 2

Terrorists/The Gang

A group of four men dressed in black biker-like gear who hide in specific rooms. Once discovered, they come out shooting.

  • Bondage Is Bad: Seems to be their main thing, considering they are also found in rooms that USED to be orgy rooms.
  • Suicide Attack: Congratulations, you killed one! you better evacuate the hallway because in a few seconds.... BOOM!
  • Shoot Everything That Moves: They aren't really picky about what they fire their machine guns at.
  • Spree Killer: When you discover them inside their rooms, they go out into the corridors and start shooting EVERYONE.

Cultists

Amongst the peaceful con-goers are knife-weilding cultists in disguise.

  • Assassination Attempt: The disguised killers are trying to kill all the actors, and succeed unless you know how to identify them and can escape from them or kill them first.
  • They Look Just Like Everyone Else!: Part of what makes them so dangerous - They don't go on a rampage like the other set of killers and often kill the actors off-screen if you're not careful.
  • Needle in a Stack of Needles: Again, it's very hard to find them in amongst the hundreds of NPCs... If you don't just start mowing down every NPC with a gun, or have an item that allows you to see what they are carrying.
  • Signature Item Clue: Their daggers and the keys to escape the hotel that they are holding.

Man in the Penthouse — Walt

A special antagonist awaits whoever opens the Penthouse Door marked "W".

  • Chair Reveal: In the penthouse, when you interact with the chair, it reveals a skeleton seated on it.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: The man in the penthouse seems to be behind the disguised killers trying to murder the actors, as he seems to regenerate and become empowered when the actors are all dead.
    • However, at the very top of the building (above the penthouse), a young Red is watching everything from the shadows.
  • Groin Attack: Using the candles this way is the only way to defeat the giant green ghost.
  • Reduced to Dust: The mysterious figure watching from the penthouse disintegrates if all of the actors survive and escape.

Spiders

A special type of enemy that appears ONLY when you activate the B-side Film reel, and enter Episode 2-B. The Hotel is derelict and infested with bugs - are you a bad enough bunch of actors to exterminate spiders?

  • Giant Spider: on the upper floors - and in some of the rooms - there are some. And then you get to the roof and see the boss...
  • Spider People: Some of the spiders you encounter are like this - and this is what happens when your characters die to the the spiders; they are essentially turned into an enemy you have to gun down.
  • Spiders Are Scary: this bonus episode isn't for those with arachnophobia.

Lakeview Cabin II - Episode 3

Giant Cockerel

Your family barn is locked up tight for a reason...

  • Basilisk and Cockatrice: While it thankfully doesn't petrify you, once it is out of the barn it IS a pretty persistent creature that is suprisingly hard to kill without the instant-kills lying around the farm.
  • Cock-a-Doodle Dawn: the Farm Film is introduced with one of these, but careful analysis of the chickens outside shows there ISN'T a cockerel amongst them...
  • Car Fu: There's a driveable combine harvester in the Farm Film, and you can use it to run over and promptly shred to pieces that thing that's locked inside your barn.

Killer Robot

A surprise gift for a businessman.

Little Dog

It's just a little dog.

  • Black Comedy Pet Death: Once again, Lakeview Cabin gives you a little dog that can die at the SLIGHTEST thing and play with the trope more this time around if you allow it to become radioactive.
  • Shoot the Dog: In order to get one of the endings, the dog must die.
  • Toxic Waste Can Do Anything: There are a bunch of dumped toxic barrels in one of the films, and it's possible to irradiate items such as bones by dropping them in it and in fact, one of the things you should do is go to this site to immediately file away the radioactive bone so the little dog can't eat it and become a problem.

The Blob

If you don't play god and bring to life a horrible slime monster, who else will?

  • Blob Monster: It is a ball of liquid given life via mad science.
  • Kill It with Water: its one weakness - you can turn on the shower and beat it, or lure it out into the thunderstorm outside where it instantly dies from the rain. NOTHING else works.
  • Lightning Can Do Anything: in true mad scientist fashion, this is how you bring the Blob to life. There's the big machine just outside in the storm and a hidden mini-machine on one of the sets you can also use

Jigsaw

A special type of enemy that appears ONLY when you activate the Episode 3-B, he would like to play a very special game with you...

  • Connected All Along: given the meta nature of Episode 3, Jigsaw is The Old Man - the one who's watching the movies.
  • Shout-Out: the entire episode is a massive Franchise/{Saw reference, so it's a given.
  • Monster Clown: Well, it IS a running theme given the Jigsaw Mask is actually a clown carnival mask, not to mention all the weird traps like the Roulette, also the Killer Clown doll reappears as a possible prize. There's even one riding a bike!

Lakeview Cabin II - Episode 4

Fiends

Demons who appear only to those players who revel in cruelty.

  • Dem Bones: They get back up again after a while if you shoot them too.
  • Our Demons Are Different: They are the same as the fiends from Lakeview Valley, in that they are COMPLETELY indestructible without using a Blessed Item on them.
  • Video Game Cruelty Punishment: You can ONLY summon them via harming or killing the Innocent Civilians or Shopkeepers you find along the way. Butchering ANY corpses - even the corpses of your enemies - also contributes points towards summoning them to your location, so be careful.

The Lord of the Wastelands — Red

A special antagonist awaits those who make it to the very end point of the wastelands map.

  • Black Cloak: Runs the Sith-Lord look as Lord of the Wastelands, but it's mostly so people don't immedeatly realize it's Red.
  • Cool Sword: He has the Red Sword from Chapter 3,and my is he DEADLY with that thing!
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Can be assumed to be this, since it's implied he's the reason for the Apocalypse and it's RED, or at least a version of him that has been fortold in prophecy - he BLATANTLY has supernatural powers now that he hasn't shown in any previous incarnation.
  • Throne Made of X: He's sitting on a crude throne atop a large pile of skulls and swords
  • Your Head A-Splode: It's how he dies in one of the endings although since he's Red, he will be reborn - ironically enough, in Lakeview Cabin 1, of all places.

     Other Characters

The Dweller

A creepy monster that lurks underneath the pier in the hub world, that has SOME connection to Lakeview Cabin 2.

  • Dark Is Evil: Runs on this, since it is a completely black creature that lives in the darkness underneith the pier.
  • Flies Equals Evil: The area below the amusement park has a swarm of flies buzzing around the entrance. This is revealed to be due to all the dead children The Dweller has killed are left there, rotting in the darkness.
  • Silver Has Mystic Powers: Stabbing the Dweller in the back with the silver harpoon you can find is one of the only ways to weaken it.
  • Our Cryptids Are More Mysterious: It's kind of hard to tell WHAT the Dweller is exactly, the only thing that can be said is that it's definitely a hostile creature that is connected to the Lake in some fashion.
  • The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: After the Dweller is hit by the silver harpoon and the orb (acquired after completing the first episode), it leaps towards you (the player) and then starts pounding on the screen, which begins cracking. The Dweller knows that you are trying to kill it, and wants to returns the favor.
  • Things That Go "Bump" in the Night: Not counting the Dweller hiding under the pier in the Hub, there are TWO Dwellers hanging out inside the Episode 1 House - They appear in the children's bedrooms at the dead of night, only when the lights in their rooms are off.

Walt

The man who is from the epilogue of ''Lakeview Cabin Collection'' — which is appropriately called "Lakeview Cabin 2" — who had been the one who committed the murder the films are based on.

  • The Bus Came Back: Honestly, we don't think anyone expected the original killer — the one the movies are based on — to return, but here he is.
  • Fourth-Wall Observer: his role in Episode 3 as the narrator is this, although given the general mindscrew nature of Episode 3, not even HE is completely safe in this role - For example, there is an special ending where Eleanor is summoned.... and promptly gets revenge on Walt for her IRL murder. Walt will then appear as a skeleton if you re-play the Episode.
  • Go Mad from the Revelation: If the Epilogue of Lakeview Cabin Collection is anything to go by, he was almost definitely changed by revelations the Lake Gods gave him, considering he killed his wife, possibly his kids, and all his future behaviour in this game.
  • Ghastly Ghost: Assuming that the giant ghost that appears when you examine the corpse in the penthouse chair is his, then he is currently this.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Possibly — Considering he comes back from the dead in Episode 2 only if some/all of the actors are killed, he might be behind the terrorists/cultists being in the building, and in Episode 3 he is the Twilight Zone Styled Narrator, so he's definitely involved in the goings-on in Lakeview Cabin 2… but how much of it is he behind, really?
  • One-Letter Name: An interesting case where, technically, in the game he only has the W logo that seems to represent him (since it's on the penthouse door of episode 2 and the movie discs of episode 3), but the game files — as well as a hard to find signature — refer to him as "Walt".

Red

A man who looks suspiciously similar to the antagonist of the Lakeview Cabin horror movies. May possibly be the same Red seen in Lakeview Valley, although in Lakeview Cabin 2, he is currently not old enough to be the main antagonist of Lakeview Cabin 2.

  • Back from the Dead: At the end of the first episode, Red returns to the land of the living as the family's new baby. Depending on the ending, this baby either ends up being raised by the parents or the cult that comes from across the lake.
  • The Bartender: In Episode 2, Red's ghost - of all people - shows up at the bar if you are insane enough to wear the hotel uniform. However, instead of offering you drinks, he gives you an axe.
  • Bearded Baby: When Red is reincarnated as a baby, he retains his moustache.
  • Born-Again Immortality: Presumably due to the curse on Red's bloodline, causing his movie counterpart to return in different incarnations, Red comes back to life as a baby and is possibly his own descendant.
  • Enfant Terrible: Remains to be seen. Red returns a baby, but is either seen sleeping peacefully with the family, or squealing horrifically as it emerges from its dead mother with the cult.
  • Fetus Terrible: When the wife's corpse gives birth in front of the cult in the ending where the entire family dies, baby Red is monstrous with sharp teeth and a monstrous screech that sounds eerily like Babyface from Collection.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: At the very top of the hotel building (above the penthouse), a young Red is watching everything from the shadows. It's... questionable to say if Red is actually orchestrating anything or not, but there SEEMS to be some sort of prophecy surrounding him if the Episode 1 cave paintings (under the house inside the well) are anything to go by, and there IS a picture of young Red and the Fedora Man being somehow connected in Episode 3.
