A list of characters from Kortia.

Main Character

Adventurer

The player character.
  • Character Customization: Adventurer's name, skin colour, hairstyle, hair colour, eye colour gender and sex are all able to be chosen by the player. These choices will be reflected in the game and illustrations. Once any changes have been made, the illustrations previously unlocked by the player will automatically update to the recent change.

  • Fish out of Water: Subverted. Adventurer has been dropped into Vallauria with no clue as to how they arrived there or why, but some details are immediately given to them, which they find worrisome. Details of the world's history are unknown to them, but Vallauria's forms of measurement, as well as the titles to some locations they visit are given depth for reasons unknown to them.

  • Genre Savvy: They are aware of the popular tropes associated with "isekai’d" fiction, and at one point actually question why they haven’t been given enough exposition about their new environment and purpose there like other “Isekai stories do”

  • Player Character: The player is able to decide what choices Adventurer makes, both plot and relationship-wise, as well as their appearance.

Love Interests

General

A list of tropes that apply to Kortia's various love interests.

Gerald Yori

The Wanderer

  • Deadpan Snarker: He is quite sarcastic to those both within and outside his marginal social circle, even when it works against him. He is not only quick to retort against Adventurer and question them on their lack of worldly knowledge, but also sarcastically responds to a guard posted outside the gates of Crimson City despite needing their permission to go inside the city to complete his current job.

  • Jade-Coloured Glasses: Very cynical and disillusioned with the world and its inhabitants, he rarely has anything optimistic to say, if at all.

  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite his sarcastic nature, he shows genuine concern for Adventurer if they get injured, as well as sometimes explaining details about Vallauria when they seem to be confused, despite seemingly getting no benefit from this.

  • Karmic Thief: His targets seem to be mainly those of high prominence who have a background in shady dealings. He seems to avoid the thievery of those who are honest and hard-working people.

Luna

The Helper

  • Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: She is dark-haired, attractive yet cold, and is quite distant if not disdainful towards the Adventurer depending on their choices.

  • Scullery Maid: A maid for the Byrathes, a noble household within the Kortian Empire.

Alexis Summerset

The Negociator

  • Badass Bookworm: While a small and slim girl who is also quite bookish, she is more than capable of defending herself, conveyed in Chapter 3 where she is able to hold her own against a surprise attack from cult mages.

  • Spoiled Sweet: Despite being the heiress to the Summerset duchy, she has little interest in practicing the formalities of her stature when she’s away from home. She is quite comfortable in conversing with those of lesser status than her in casual conversation.

Knight Zeno

The Masked Maurader

  • Blood Knight: While gregarious, he has a clear fascination with getting into what he deems as entertaining fights. Seemingly, he puts the anticipation of a good fight above all other aspects of his job as captain. Notably, he considers the “saving” aspect of being a knight as a requirement and not something he particularly cherishes in his job.

  • Boisterous Bruiser: The LI with the most noticeably muscular build, when he’s not fighting as captain of the knights, he seems to spend most of his off-time at the nearest tavern. Somewhat loud and informal in his introduction, his attitude doesn’t seem to mar his renowned fighting ability in the slightest.

  • Cool Mask: Matched with his futuristic armour, he sticks out against the more fantasy-inspired clothing of the other characters. In promotional art, he is only ever seen with the mask on. One might expect this to be set-up for The Reveal, which is subverted in his introduction when his face is immediately visible to the player.

  • Curtains Match the Window: He has light purple hair and eyes

  • Establishing Character Moment: In his introduction, he’s not only enthusiastically drinking, but regaling a crowd of his fellow knights with tales of his exploits. As soon as they observe this, Adventurer likens him to a party playboy.

  • Magnetic Hero: He’s quite persuasive, and minutes after he’s met Adventurer, convinces them to have a drink with him. It goes about as well as one would expect.

Kor

  • Ambiguously Evil: Although reasonably friendly towards Adventurer, his actions and dialogue cast doubt onto his true motivations. Scenes involving him make it very clear that he regularly makes conflicting statements.

  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Self-described as simply wanting to raise his daughter in peace, and although he works as an adventurer for hire, seems to have little interest in the fame or money associated with the job.

  • Mathematician's Answer: Tends to speak like this as a way of avoiding giving straight answers for some topics, like the reasoning behind his overly generous gifts to Adventurer and questions about himself.

  • Mum Looks Like a Sister: Father in this case. Some dialogue in chapter 2 states that Kor has a daughter named Zaria, but details about her age are quite vague. Chapter 3 reveals she’s at least old enough to be a teenager, while according to his character sheet Kor is 21.

  • Promoted to Love Interest: His status as a love interest of the game was ambiguous by design. Originally meant to be a character the players could only befriend, due to popular demand, he was officially promoted by the Kortia staff to have a romantic route as of April 15th, 2021. [1]

  • Unusual Eyebrows: Of the kinked type. Out of the other characters, he’s the only one with such eyebrows.

Princess Florus

The Brains...and the Brawn

  • Curtains Match the Window: She has pink hair and eyes

  • Red Is Heroic: Is reportedly a benevolent and strong princess and predominantly wears red and gold, the colours of the Kortian Empire.

  • Tomboy Princess: She is described as having little interest in the needed decorum associated with her title, and prioritizes her training, much to the chagrin of her parents.

Lord Dyclos

The Legendary Hero

  • No Badass to His Valet: Despite being well-known as a hero who’s ruthless towards his enemies, he finds his match in Kor, an adventurer of mediocre success in comparison. Depending on the player’s choices in Chapter 2, Kor’s blatant disregard for Dyclos and Dyclos’ following indignation can escalate into a full-blown duel.

  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Despite being respected by the common Vallaurian, nearly all the other LI's dislike him, if not despise him due to his arrogance and obnoxious attitude. He even has garnered the dislike of Zeno, who is easily one of the most easy-going characters of Kortia.
