Hazumu Osaragi

• Ambiguous Gender Identity: It's strongly implied that Hazumu was a trans girl all along without realizing it, and that may have been why she was resurrected in a female body. Prior to being turned into a girl, Hazumu expressed a desire to be Tomari's bride, and she was the only "man" Yasuna could see clearly. She doesn't protest at all about becoming biologically female and seems to be much happier being treated as a girl than she was (presenting) as a boy.
• Attractive Bent-Gender: After being turned into a girl, Hazumu was given a very nice body.
• Childhood Friend Romance: With Tomari.
• Dude Looks Like a Lady: Yasuna accidentally mistook Hazumu for a girl when she was still a "he".
• Effeminate Voice: Hazumu has the exact same voice, boy or girl.
• First-Episode Resurrection: Was killed when they were hit by Hitoshi's spaceship. She was brought back to life afterwards, but at the cost of irreversibly switching his gender to female.
• Gender Bender: After being killed by a falling UFO, the aliens responsible for the crash revive Hazumu as a girl. However, Hazumu is happy with being a girl, and it's implied that she always wanted to be one.
• Happily Married: She and Tomari end up getting married at the end of the OVA.
• Heterosexual Life-Partner: With Asuta when she was a boy and with Ayuki.
• Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: Despite her femininity, she keeps some of her traits from having spent her entire life a boy (such as preferring boyish clothes).
• Innocent Fanservice Girl: Justified as she just turned into a girl and is therefore unfamiliar with how she should act, such as using her skirt to cool her legs, and asking Asuta to measure her bust size.

Yasuna Kamiizumi

"I don't dislike you, Hazumu kun... if... if... if you were a girl..."

• Ambiguously Gay: It's never clarified if Yasuna is lesbian or if she prefers girls only because she can't see men. She's only ever shown interested in Hazumu.
• Betty and Veronica: The Betty to Tomari's Veronica.
• Does Not Like Men: Subverted. She just can't see them. Even her father, who she loves dearly.

• Single-Target Sexuality: She likes Hazumu and only Hazumu.

Tomari Kurusu

• Ambiguously Bi: She showed signs of Puppy Love with male Hazumu as children and doesn't mind when Hazumu is revived as a girl. Not enough is shown about their past to know if Tomari is bisexual, a straight girl making an exception for female Hazumu, a lesbian who was making an exception for male Hazumu, or a lesbian who already saw "him" as a girl.
• Betty and Veronica: The Veronica to Yasuna's Betty.
• Childhood Friend Romance: With Hazumu.
• First Girl Wins: Played straight in the manga. Double subverted in the anime as initially Hazumu chooses Yasuna, however an OVA was released post-series that showed that the two later broke up.
• Girlish Pigtails: She wears her hair in pigtails.
• Happily Married: She marries Hazumu at the end of the OVA.
• Matchmaker Crush: She pushes Hazumu to confess to Yasuna, but then increasingly owns up to her own feelings after his genderswap.

• All Love Is Unrequited: To female Hazumu. He's pretty Squicked out about it.
• Butt-Monkey: Even if it's funny, you kinda feel bad for him though it's funny with him and Namiko.
• Heterosexual Life-Partner: With Hazumu when she was a boy.
• Incompatible Orientation: Hazumu isn't interested in boys.
• Just Friends: With Hazumu.
• Platonic Life-Partners: With Hazumu.
• Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Manly to Male Hazumu's Sensitive.
• The One Guy: The most prominent male character of the main cast.
• Unlucky Everydude: Pretty much has no luck with girls,as they don't think that he's important & Asuta is never treated important.
