Heroes

    Izuku Midoriya

Izuku Midoriya

Quirk: N/A

The protagonist of My Hero Academia and a passionate fan of heroes in general, Izuku Midoriya wished to become like his idol and Number One Hero All Might and be a great hero. Though this desire was crushed after being diagnosed as Quirkless, Izuku continued to pursue his dream of being hero while eventually taking up a mundane job as a bike courier during his second year at Orudera Junior High.

After unknowingly setting off a bomb that demolishes most of Mustafu city and being at ground zero of the blast, Izuku discovers that his Quirk has mysteriously surfaced, putting his dreams of becoming a hero in his reach.

Izuku's Quirk allows him to freely manipulate any and all electricity he absorbs from virtually anything that runs on electricity. Cell phones, game consoles, household appliances; it's all fair game.
  • Adaptational Badass: In canon, Izuku was Quirkless before he obtained One For All. Here, he's a Conduit who just so happens to have Cole's powers and abilities and has a year to discover what he's capable of, unlike Cole who had only weeks to discover the limits of his powers before his encounter with the Beast.
  • Break the Cutie: When Toshinori finds Izuku in the park after the latter's meeting with Nighteye, he tearfully asks him if a "murderer" can become a hero. Issue #4 has Toshinori state that Nighteye bluntly told Izuku that he caused the Blast, albeit unintentionally.
  • The Chosen One: A darker variant. For whatever reasons, Kessler picked Izuku to be the one to deliver the package containing the Ray Sphere, which also unlocks his powers in the process and caused a massive disaster that killed many people.
  • Composite Character: On top of having Cole's powers, Izuku also took up a part-time job as a bike courier.
  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: On account of how he's unable to use it properly at first, Izuku's Quirk activates randomly. When it activates after he's discharged from the hospital, he accidentally drains all the power from his fridge when his hand brushes against the lightbulb.
  • Heroic BSoD: Izuku really doesn't take it well when Nighteye informs him that the package he was supposed to deliver was actually a bomb and the cause behind the destruction of Mustafu.
  • It's All My Fault: Upon being told that he caused the Blast, Izuku blames himself for the tragedy that occurred in Mustafu, seeing as how he was the one who delivered the package containing the Ray Sphere and accidentally set it off.
  • Shock and Awe: His Quirk in a nutshell and, like Cole, he can manipulate electricity and shoot it from his hands or create shockwaves to deflect oncoming projectiles.
  • Traumatic Superpower Awakening: Subverted. Doctor Tsubasa theorizes that Izuku, being on the verge of death from being so close to the explosion, caused his Quirk to manifest in spite of him being long past the age when a Quirk should start to appear. The truth is a lot more complicated in that Izuku was a Positive Conduit who required having his powers unlocked by other means; in this case, draining the neuro-electricity of everyone within the radius of the blast.
  • Walking Techbane: As a result of his electricity absorption powers, he tends to cause anything electronic around him to go haywire. He caused the hospital equipment to short circuit and accidentally drained the lightbulb in his fridge when he touched it.

    Katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki Bakugo

Quirk: Explosion

A crude, unfriendly, violent and arrogant boy whose delinquent-like attitude is more fitting of a villain than a hero. Once a childhood friend of Izuku's, their relationship turned sour when Katsuki developed a Quirk but Izuku was revealed to be Quirkless. In spite of his jerkish behavior, Katsuki has high scores across all of his tests and exams and dreams of becoming the Number One Hero, operating under the idea that heroes will never lose.

His Quirk is Explosion: His sweat contains nitroglycerin-like properties and allows him to ignite it at will in his palms. The more sweat he accumulates, the more powerful the explosions will be.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Zigzagged. He's still as violent and self-centered as ever, but he's somewhat nicer towards Izuku. When Mustafu was more-or-less demolished by the Ray Sphere blast, he searched the city for his friend and pulled him out from ground zero. Later on, when he learns Izuku now has a Quirk, he's initially angry and, like in canon, thinks Izuku was lying about having a Quirk before dismissing the thought. While he still thinks Izuku is still a weakling compared to him, his opinion of him goes from Izuku being a "worthless nobody" to "extra" like everybody else.
  • Having a Blast: His Quirk, Explosion, lets him create blasts from his hands using his sweat, though Izuku mentions the possibility that he can do this with other parts of his body as well.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's an abrasive asshole to most people and is a complete jerk to Izuku, but that won't stop him from trying to save his former friend when he's in danger.

    Melissa Shield

Melissa Shield

Quirk: Neon

Daughter of David Shield, All Might's sidekick and partner during his studies abroad, she was born Quirkless and intended on focusing her studies on supporting heroes by creating Support Items to aid them out on the field. When her father obtains a Blast Shard to study and learn of its effects on Quirks and any possible ill-effects, an experiment gone wrong causes her to develop a Quirk, which manifests when she tries to move pieces of debris off her father.

Her Quirk is Neon and lets her weaponize and manipulate any and all forms of neon energy she absorbs.
  • Adaptational Badass: Like Izuku, she was born Quirkless. Here, she was a Positive Conduit who awakens to her powers after she's caught in the blast created by the Blast Shard during her father's experiment.
  • Age Lift: In canon, she's slightly older than Izuku. In the fanfic, they're the same age.
  • Ascended Extra: At the time of this writing, Melissa has only been featured prominently in Two Heroes and materials in the anime and manga connecting to it and has not been mentioned in the main series after her debut. Here, she's a prominent character who, according to Word of God, will join Class 1-A.
  • Light 'em Up: By absorbing neon energy, Melissa can channel it as raw energy and manipulate it in any way she can think of, including Frickin' Laser Beams.

    Shoto Todoroki

Shoto Todoroki

Quirk: Half-Hot Half-Cold

The son of the No. 2 Pro Hero Endeavor and the youngest of four siblings. Considered to be his father's "masterpiece" for having inherited both his father's flames and Rei's ice abilities, Enji trained him at a young age and isolated him from his siblings in spite of his mother's protests. Following an incident where his mother threw boiling hot water on his face and was sent to a mental hospital, Shoto decided to become a Pro Hero using only the ice abilities he inherited from his mother.

Shoto's Quirk is Half-Hot Half-Cold and can create fire from one side of his body and ice from the other. After being caught in the radius of the Ray Sphere's activation, Shoto's Quirk received a tremendous boost in power.
  • Adaptational Badass: Although the full extent of his power boost has yet to be shown, he's capable of manipulating ice around his body and freely changing its shape. When Fuyumi finds him training, orbs of ice surround his body and can make them grow spikes.
  • Elemental Eye Colors: An inverted case, as while his left eye is blue, he can create ice with the right side of his body. His left side produces flames.
  • Elemental Hair Colors: Like Fuyumi and Natsuo, his hair is white and red, which reflects his ability to create both ice and fire.
  • Hates Their Parent: Shoto does not have a very good opinion of his father, considering that the man's Training from Hell pushed his mother to the breaking point and culminated in her throwing boiling water on his face as his eyes reminded her too much of Enji's.
  • Heroic Lineage: He's the son of Enji Todoroki, the No. 2 Pro Hero in Japan and second only to the Symbol of Peace himself.

    Toshinori Yagi / All Might

Toshinori Yagi / All Might

Quirk: One For All

The No. 1 Pro Hero and Symbol of Peace, recognized as the strongest hero in the world. Following a climactic battle with All For One, Toshinori suffered a severe injury that permanently affected his performance and renders him incapable of fighting for very long, only able to perform heroics for a few hours.

His Quirk is One For All, which can be passed down from person to person and stockpiles its users strength. He is the eighth user of One For All.
  • Big Damn Heroes: When he hears what has transpired in Mustafu, he immediately rushes to the scene and helps in the rescue efforts, even managing to save Katsuki and an unconscious Izuku from being killed by a falling building.
  • We Used to Be Friends: He and Nighteye shared a close partnership up until All For One's defeat, which left Toshinori crippled. In spite of Nighteye begging Toshinori to retire and pass on One For All, having used Foresight and saw the Symbol of Peace's violent death in six years, Toshinori refused. This caused a wedge in their friendship.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: When speaking to David about the events in Mustafu, Toshinori expresses his disappointment and anger at his former sidekick Nighteye for bluntly telling Izuku he was responsible for causing the Blast, even if it was unknowingly on the boy's part.

    David Shield

David Shield

Quirk: Bendy Fingers

A researcher and developer of Support Items for heroes, David Shield was All Might's first sidekick during his overseas studies in America. Sometime after the two separated, David created I-Island and founded a school for students who wanted to create inventions and support items for Pro Heroes. He is Melissa Shield's father.

David's Quirk, Bendy Fingers, gives him flawless control of his fingers and bend them however he wants, which he uses to great effect when crafting items and costumes.
  • Boring, but Practical: His Quirk is extremely lame since all it does is let his fingers bend slightly better than most people's, but it gives him better precise movements and fluidity when creating equipment for Pro Heroes.
  • Brainy Brunette: He has brown hair, and when it comes to making support items for heroes, he's the best in the business.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: David is renowned for creating several types of support items over the years, and is responsible for creating some of Toshinori's earliest equipment.
  • Hope Spot: When speaking of the potential of the Blast Shards, David tells Toshinori that it could potentially restore his powers, if not strengthen One For All. While the idea is great in theory, there's a problem with it that Toshinori brings up: That's all it does. The problem with the decline of his power isn't that One For All is fading as he's yet to pass it on to someone else, it's the injuries he sustained from his battle with All For One that leaves him capable of only a few hours of hero work.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: He attempts to transfer the neuro-electricity within the Blast Shard into a storage container so he and Sam can better analyze it. The experiment results in an explosion that leaves him buried under a pile of rubble and a steel beam and Sam is nowhere to be found. The only good thing that came out of the explosion was Melissa developing her Quirk.
  • Science Hero: On top of developing support items, David is also invested in research regarding Quirks and Quirk theories. He even dug up information about Kyudai Garaki's Quirk Singularity theory when the police gave him a Blast Shard for him and Sam to study.
  • Secret-Keeper: Nighteye apparently told him the truth about Toshinori's Quirk and All For One. This drives him even further in his efforts to restore Toshinori to his former glory and hopes to unlock the secrets of the Blast Shards to do so.

Villains

    Urabumi Kiboshi / Reaper

Urabumi Kiboshi / Reaper

Quirk: Living Tar

A contract killer hired by All For One and Kessler to "test" Izuku's prowess with his newfound Quirk.

Urabumi's Quirk, Living Tar, allows her to not only control anyone who ingests it, but shape it however to her liking.
  • Dark Action Girl: A female villain, and she's willing to kill Izuku. She also has no qualms of killing the students of U.A. to do so either, considering them to be collateral damage.
  • Dark Is Evil: She has black hair, wears a skin-tight black bodysuit, her Quirk allows her to manipulate tar, and she is a Professional Killer.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: She's pretty darn foul-mouthed and tends to say 'fuck' a lot in her appearances.
  • Mythology Gag: Urabumi is one to Sasha, the leader of the Reapers from inFAMOUS. Urabumi's Quirk functions similarly to Sasha's powers, her villain name is a reference to the Reaper gang, and the people she controls when she goes after Izuku all wear red hoodies, which normal Reaper gang members wear.
  • Professional Killer: Though she doesn't consider herself to be at a "professional level" like some other villains, Urabumi does take pride in her work.
  • Revenge: In the past, Urabumi fought and lost against a "burnt bastard" and has been looking to settle the score ever since.
  • Starter Villain: She's the first foe Izuku fights, and is the catalyst behind learning how his Quirk functions in combat.
  • Took a Level in Badass: It's unknown how strong she was previously, but when she's hired to "test" Izuku, she absorbed several Blast Shards and increased her powers significantly.
  • Your Days Are Numbered: According to Kessler and Garaki, the Blast Shards enhanced her Quirk well-beyond what Urabumi's body can handle due to her being a first-generation Quirk user. As it stands, she has maybe a year and a half at best to live.

    All For One

All For One / ??? Shigaraki

Quirk: All For One

A long-lived man that once ruled over Japan during a time when society was in total chaos with the advent of Quirks. He was thought to be dead after a harsh and brutal battle between him and All Might, but in truth, he's still alive and biding his time. He is currently working with Kessler and helped play a part in the Blast that devastated Mustafu.

All For One's Quirk allows him to not only steal Quirks from others and make them his own, but he can also transfer those Quirks to another person.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Forms one with Kessler before the start of the story.
  • Body Horror: His past fight with All Might severely damaged his body, leaving him with no eyes, nose, or even ears.

    Kessler

"Kessler"

Quirk: N/A

All For One's hooded associate who is shrouded in mystery. Virtually nothing about him is known, except for the fact that he handpicked Izuku Midoriya to deliver and unknowingly activate the Ray Sphere, thus setting the plot of inFAMOUS Hero Academia into motion.

His Quirk seemingly allows him to shoot lightning blasts.
  • Bandaged Face: His entire face is wrapped in bandages. This, coupled with his hood, makes it near impossible for anyone to know what he looks like underneath.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Forms one with All For One before the start of the story.
  • The Chooser of the One: He's the one responsible for picking Izuku to pick up and activate the Ray Sphere, thereby allowing him to unlock his Quirk at the cost of thousands of lives.
  • Evil Sounds Raspy: His voice is described as being rather coarse and raspy when he talks.
  • Expy: Of the original Kessler who kickstarted the events of Empire City. Both men are dressed in white and wear hoods, their powers involve white lightning, and kickstart events to make their own heroes.
  • In the Hood: He wears a hood over his face when first introduced and only takes it down when he introduces himself to All For One properly.
  • Legacy Character: He shares the same name as Kessler from the events of the first inFAMOUS. Though whether or not that's his actual name has yet to be made known.
  • Light Is Not Good: His lightning is white and wears white-colored clothing, his bandages including. He's also the one responsible for the destruction of Mustafu city and the thousands of lives lost in the explosion.
  • No Name Given: His name is never stated until Issue #6.
  • Villainous Rescue: He shows to save Urabumi after she's been defeated by Aizawa, catching the latter off-guard and taking him out with a single lightning blast.

Historical Characters

    Cole MacGrath

Cole MacGrath

Quirk: Lightning manipulation

A ordinary man who took up a job as a bike courier whose life took a sudden and drastic change when he delivered a parcel containing a bomb that devastated the Historic District of Empire City, claiming thousands of lives in the process. The incident resulted in Cole developing superhuman powers, including the power to absorb and manipulate electricity.
  • Famed In-Story: According to Word of God, he's more or less the founding father of heroics.
  • Our Founder: Not of a royal bloodline or imperial lineage, but of the heroic teachings practiced in the modern day.
  • Posthumous Character: He's been dead for at least two or three centuries by the time the story begins, but the example he set and his actions have helped pave the way for Hero Society as it is now.
  • Shock and Awe: When he woke up in the aftermath of the Ray Sphere's activation, he discovered he could absorb electricity and shoot the stuff from his hands. Over the course of his journey, his powers continued to grow exponentially and could even call down lightning strikes.

    Delsin Rowe

Delsin Rowe

Quirk: Absorption

Originally a trouble-maker living in Salmon Bay, Delsin's life took an unexpected turn where, after being caught by his brother for vandalizing a billboard, a group of Conduit prisoners escaped from a crashed bus. This incident led to Delsin discovering his own abilities as a Conduit, and entering a conflict with the Department of Unified Protection when the organization's leader harmed and crippled his family.
  • Famed In-Story: Although not to the same extent as Cole, Word of God states that Delsin, along with Zeke, became leading figures in pro-Conduit movements, which played a major factor into society coming to accept Conduits and their abilities.
  • Foil: To Cole in regards to their impacts on society. Whereas Cole became the founding father of heroics and set the gold standard, Delsin's actions paved the way for Conduits to become accepted by a society that was fearful of what they were capable of.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: He used to be nothing more than a trouble-making Native American who was constantly being arrested by his older brother. One meeting with a Conduit and a brutal encounter with the leader of the D.U.P. later, however, and Delsin became the latter's worst nightmare who would go on to dismantle the organization and help people come to accept Conduits.
  • Posthumous Character: Like Cole, Delsin's been dead centuries before the story begins, and similar to Cole, his actions impacted society and helped pave the way for Conduits to become accepted into society rather than be ostracized.
  • Power Copying: And better than Monoma, a fellow power-copier. Delsin can absorb and use the abilities of any Prime Conduit he touches, and unlike Monoma, he can use them permanently. He could only use one power at a time, however.
